Very intimate, almost family-like experience. This is an extremely small hotel (13 rooms perhaps?), made even more so by the incredibly small rooms with incredibly small bathrooms. While small in proportions, the hotel is big on character - authenticity, interesting decor, charming restaurant. It feels like staying in the small guest bedroom at a friend's house that used to be her grandmother's house.||The rooms are teeny, tiny with barely room for a bed and small bench - so don't come here with three suitcases each! On the other hand, if your plan is just to sleep here while spending time enjoying the skiing/hiking in the region and enjoying the excellent breakfasts and dinners, then this is a great choice.||The breakfast buffet was of the high quality/low variety approach, which makes sense in a hotel with so few rooms - enjoy the fantastic jams on tasty breads and you will be well fortified for the day. Dinner was also of excellent quality, with few but interesting choices, each well prepared and presented in an unfussy manner. We were quite content eating here each night and never felt the need to venture into town for dinner.||What sets the hotel apart, however, was the excellent staff. This is not formal, stiff service but warm, even friendly, service by young people who seemed to be enjoying themselves - serving without being subservient is a tough balance to get right, and this team did a great job of it. Again, sort of like being in a friend's house.||Definitely worth considering this small hotel if you want an intimate setting and can do without the trappings of a larger hotel.
