Bergström - Review - Dundee - Willamette Valley - The Infatuation

"Part of Oregon wine country’s whole objective is its commitment to biodynamic farming, and that’s on display vividly at Bergström, where you’ll have a glass-in-hand lap around the garden and grapevines before sitting down in their sun-stained cottage-turned-tasting-room. Much like the rest of the lot, their house specialty is pinot noir, and they nail it—specifically in the case of the 2023 La Spirale that’s bursting with more thyme and mint than a farmstand. But we also love that the staff is always prepared to launch into a lesson about all the Willamette AVAs and their little quirks. (Yes, that’s what the huge easel’s for.) Just don’t ignore their riesling: floral and fresh, it conspires well with the roasty-toasty gruyere gougères that just came out of the oven." - Aimee Rizzo

The best! Such a beautiful experience! We felt incredibly blessed to stumble upon this tasting room. Jennifer was outstanding. She took time to explain the history of the winery & the family while weaving in information about biodynamic winemaking. The gardens & views are sublime as well.

Darin Hallam

Google
The most beautiful gardens I’ve seen in Oregon! Very personalized tasting. So much great information from Jennifer. Absolutely delicious wines.

We attended a tasting experience at Bergstrom as our first stop in Willamette. Ashley was our host and she was fantastic! You get a chance to see the gardens and hear the history of the family owned winery before the tasting begins. The wines were AMAZING and the service was even better! We learned so much and had a blast. Thank you Ashley and the whole Bergstrom team!

Google
This was a 10 out of 10 experience. Mark, our host, picked us up from the car with a glass of wine and gave us a tour of the estate. He was very welcoming and explained the history and wines so well to us. The wines were all excellent. The highlight were a few ‘nibbles’ to go with the wine. The ingredients were mostly sourced from the estate’s garden. Everything was so high class but still warm and welcoming. We can’t recommend this place enough.

Google
Our favorite (out of 6) winery on our Willamette Valley wine tour. Intimate, elegant, family-owned, and with a personal guide for your party, this place made us feel welcome from the first moment. The wines were spectacular and the food pairings were perfect. So different from the many big wineries in the area. Would recommend to anyone who loves a personalized wine experience. Update from our 2nd visit - we still LOVE this place and their wines. The wine ambassador (Jessica) was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and the setting is second to none.

Google
I'm telling you now, Bergstrom is a can't miss stop on your winery tour list. The location is unassuming, there's no sign indicating its location, so it's very easy to miss. The house is beautifully renovated, the staff is passionate and knowledgeable, the grounds and gardens are impeccably kept, then there's this mind-blowing view from the back of the property of acres of vines, overlooking the farm lands below. THE WINE IS SOME OF THE BEST I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE. And the tasting notes were like wow.. black tea, umami, forest floor... what a fantastic experience. You must go.

Google
It's so worth visiting this vineyard! We found the tasting experience to be delightful and give major props to Mark for leading the event. Met outside as we arrived with glasses and rose for all, Mark was incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, congenial. He took time to describe the Bergstrom story, share his pride in its evolution and allow us to taste both food and wine that exceeded our expectations, making all come to life. We had no intention of buying much wine and now very much look forward to receiving our shipment in a few weeks! Highly recommend!

Google
Absolutely fantastic! Nicole is wonderful. The wines are delicious. We had some little pastry’s as well and they were great with the wines. The views and property are beautiful. I loved the little nuances around the house & property. Great hospitality and service. Can’t wait to come back.

Yelp
We had a tasting reservation for 5 people for my mother-in-laws 50th birthday. The Dundee tasting room is beautiful inside and out. We were greeted by Quinn, who took us on a tour of the grounds and educated us on the history of the Bergström tasting room. Our tour was followed by a wine tasting with chef prepared pairings, catered to our party. Not only were the food and wine top notch, having Quinn as our guide for the experience made it one we will recommend to all moving forward. If you are looking for an elegant wine tasting with wonderful views, we highly recommend booking with Bergström!

Yelp
Fantastic find! While we drove by it a couple of times, when we finally figured out that it was the gorgeous farmhouse on the left, we drove up. We were warmly greeted by our host and led in through this amazing home! They have a few tasting "areas" along the way and ours was at the back by the kitchen by the fireplace. We made ourselves at home and the tasting began. I fell so bad because I did not catch our wine tasting guide's name but he explained it all so well! The story behind how they became winemakers, the amount of work and sweat that goes into their wines etc. He gave us these delicious "bites" to go along with our tastings and man did they pair perfect. While the day was somewhat gloomy and sprinkly, these wines warmed us right up! So glad we got to visit! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is the most nonsense winery on the earth. I wish i could remove that left one star completely. They called and I picked up the phone and i picked up and thought they call to apologize for the experience. NOPE, the manager said I have "sexually pat her employees on the back when I left" Lady, if you have a ring camera in your room, pull it out and check please. This is COVID time!! I was practicing social distancing with a musk! Is my arm long enough to pad him from 6 feet away???? My Hustand is standing right next to me too, to what on earth would I ever do it??? First time ever as an 5ft tall petite asian girl, accused by a guy who s taller, stronger, full of bs saying im sexually touching him, abusing him??? With what? My credit cards??? The manager also angrily yelled "Im very upset you didnt first talk to us, telling us privately you had a bad experience, but choose to post on yelp" Did I not? I shared my experience right away on the spot with your employee. But according to you is "condescending and you was saying you are trying to help them do better" yes, surprisingly i came w a good intention and didnt share any personal comments towards him, or his name or anything to protect that person's privacy. Lady, you know you can always delete your page from Yelp if you dont want people to share their honest opinion about your business to help other customers to make fair, reasonable judgement. And instead of yelling at one vulnerable customer of yours, maybe do try to listen and more importantly, IMPROVE (ALSO, could you spell my NAME right? Tx)

Yelp
I went to Bergstrom with some friends. We spent over $1200 on our tasting and bottles. They apparently thought we stole 2 wineglasses and chased after us when we left to stop it. They have cameras everywhere and will be able to tell that I didn't steal their $3 glass when I paid for an $80 tasting. I would not recommend going here.

Yelp
Top notch. Can't recommend enough. The pinots and the Chardonnay are wonderful. The property and entire experience far exceeded expectations. We joined the club as well.

Yelp
This was unlike any other tasting we experienced. From the greeting in the parking lot through the tasting, it's very luxurious. Reservations are required because they beautifully prepare the tasting along with delightful pairing bites. The bites are so delicious, you're going to wish for more! I love that all the wine are poured in different glasses laid in front of you so you can sip and pause between the wines to really taste the differences. Wonderful experience and tasting!

Yelp
Went here for a wine tasting with friends. We had a glass of champagne to get things started while walking the wine field. We tried four of the Bergstrom's Pinot and one of their Chardonnay. The host Vanessa was a foundation of knowledge both about the local region and the wines. We tried the Shea, Le Pre du Col, Silice and Vinyard Pinot Noirs. Loved the Shea and the Vinyard. Had a number of small dishes with the meal. The vegetable starter and the pig cheek ragu were excellent. We enjoyed 2 hours with Vanessa and ended up buying a good selection of wine.

Yelp
Excellent winery. Great wines from these Swedish immigrants. Mark Q is the best. He knows so so so much about wines and he is a Som. He could tell that a funk flavor was driven by iron. They provide healthcare for all their workers. Just be sure you go to the right site. There are two. 100% biodynamic vineyard which uses no pesticides. Higher than organic. Sheep roam the vineyard which translates into the final wine.

Yelp
Always a fan favorite and a #1 stop on every trip. Wines are a beautiful expression of the valley and Oregon Pinot and Chardonnay. Tasted at the winery and house and both are pretty amazing. Love the pairings they do as well - very thoughtful and bring out the best and interesting wine notes. Staff are always very seasoned experts who can readily scale the conversation to the visitor. Great Pinot nerd stopping point.

Hannah K.

Yelp
Such a personalized exquisite experience. I so enjoyed this wine tasting - they were so prepared, they even came out to the car to greet us when we came in! They had an exceptional food pairing and told us everything about the history of the company and the property. Would highly recommend coming here in the future!

Yelp
So Bergstrom is expensive, but our experience here was top notch... we made reservations and had a nice table on the patio overlooking the vineyard. This was our first stop and a spectacular place to start! They brought a nice board with some cheese and nuts to snack on as we tasted - nice touch... the Pinots are amazing, and I can't wait to break into the bottle(s) that we bought! I think the tastings were $30, refundable with 2 bottle purchase... much steeper than we are used to, but the wine and setting were hard to beat.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in here during a recent trip to Portland. We rented a car and drove down 45-50 minutes to Newburg to drink some fantastic Pinot Noir. NOTE: You must make a reservation in order to do a tasting. We sat with one of the tasting room associates for over an hour just chatting about wine and the history of the property. It was a VIP, upscale experience and the Pinot Noir was top-notch! I would highly recommend for serious red wine lovers.

Yelp
Last Call. This winery was an unplanned stop. OR rather a surge of spontaneity overcame us, thus diverging from my well-planned itinerary for the day. In any case, it was a decision well made. In recent years, Bergstrom has had several pinot noir rated highly (90+ points) by wine spectator magazine. Thankfully my friend, the wine connoisseur, keeps up to date with such things. I wish I did. We arrived at Bergstrom a half hour before closing. The tasting room is not large, but is very cozy and welcoming. There is an outdoor area with tables that overlooks the vineyard and surrounding area. The staff was tremendously friendly, outgoing, and exhibit a cheerful camaraderie with each other as well with the other customers. We truly appreciated the wonderful customer service from the female staff member that assisted us. Cheers to the wine. It was incredible. Bergstrom absolutely deserves all the accolades bestowed upon them regarding their pinot noir. Sadly all the 90+ point wines are specifically for members of their wine club. NOTE: visit www.bergstromwines.com for complete info; tasting fee is $15; open daily 10-4pm. BOTTOM LINE: Great pinot noir. Terrific service. A detour in the right direction surely.

Yelp
Beautiful setting and exceptionally crafted wines. Our host was charming, enthusiastic and very informed. She made it an even better experience. An exemplary wine from Willamette Valley. Do visit.
google avatar

Meghan M.

Yelp
Reservations Required! This made for a great first stop on my wine trip. As other reviews mentioned, it's a little pricier but so worth it. Wines were great, staff was extra friendly and knowledgeable. The views were incredible. I want to come back in the summertime when the outdoor patio is open.

Yelp
My husband and I took our friends who were visiting from the Midwest for a private wine tasting at Bergstrom last Sunday. Felicia was a fabulous hostess. She was very knowledgeable and made us feel at home. The wine and food were wonderful. We are new wine club members and look forward to upcoming events at Bergstrom.

Yelp
Just left the best tasting experience ever at Bergstrom! My husband and I have been to many tastings all around the world, but this one was among our most favorite ever. We booked a seated wine and food pairing, and we were hosted by the incredibly knowledgeable and engaging Vanessa. As a sommelier, she was a wealth of information not only about Bergstrom but about winemaking in general. (Or as we think of it, sommel-yay!!!) The setting was their barrel room, which is tastefully decorated in a industrial-chic style. The food pairings were perfect complements to the truly exceptional wines. We cannot say enough good things about this without sounding gushy. Oh well. It was truly worth gushing about! Thank you, Vanessa and Bergstrom!!
google avatar

Tani S.

Yelp
They were extremely friendly at this winery, especially with our four year old who was fascinated by the goldfishes, Lina the dog, and the yummy complementary crackers they gave with the tastings. My husband and our friend enjoyed the tasting (only $15 fee, you really do get what you pay for.. We went to a winery a few weekends ago in the western Willamette area the fee was $10 but the wines were horrible), particularly the Riesling and two of the more expensive pinots. We ended up each buying a bottle of the Riesling, it's a shame they've decided to stop producing it. A really nice place to stop with a beautiful patio overlooking their vineyards and the valley.
google avatar

Shelley D.

Yelp
What a wonderful tasting room. They have a really nice outdoor patio area to sit and relax while you make your way through a tasting. They also have wine spectator wines which were delicious. My favorite thing though, was that they have the amazing smelling candles! My group bought out the last of their stock, but if you go there and have the opportunity buy one of their amazing candles. A nice place to relax and spend time with friends while tasting some delicious wines.
google avatar

Thomas R.

Yelp
Excellent wines! Chris our tasting employee was full on information of the valley and the history of this wine region, took the tasting experience to a whole other level. The wines themselves are some of the best we've had. Excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
google avatar

Yelp
Terrific experience with Chris and Jeff! We did the classic tasting at the vineyard. Yes, you need a reservation and if you don't buy wine it is $30 per person. Totally worth it. Firstly, the setting is gorgeous. Secondly, the wines were fantastic. I loved the "old stone" chard. Of course i also loved the Bergstrom vineyard pinot which was most dear ($$). Yes, I bought them and shipped them home. Thirdly, Chris and Jeff are wonderful. They love working there. So enthusiastic. Jeff traveled here from Texas to work with the Bergströms. Regaled us with great stories about the Bergström family and the wines. I am so happy we had the opportunity to visit. I think you will too.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
Our first trip here was an amazing experience! So we returned - this time to purchase the wine for our engagement party. We were met with an extremely disinterested staff and when we started the tasting with the rose, I asked her about it. The response was "well if you have had our rose before you know." Pretty shocked, we were going to simply finish the tasting outside. She told us "the deck is only for members." So we left. Without the cases of wine we thought we wanted from Bergstrom. Thankfully we were told about a few others that are not only amazing wines, but great staff who appreciate out business! Two stars because it is so beautiful!
google avatar

James W.

Yelp
Fine Pinot Noir with excellent hostess and conversation. But fruit flies in the tasting room were a distraction. $20 tasting fee refunded with $100 purchase which isn't hard to reach since the Pinot Noir we liked best was $85.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
We enjoyed a very nice table-side wine tasting on the patio. I appreciated that they came to us and allowed us to enjoy their view and the great weather. Their views are serene and super relaxing. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and it was a wonderful visit.
google avatar

Marcus K.

Yelp
Yes, its that good! So good that if you taste a bunch of wines in this region, you will definitely remember Bergstrom and wish you had bought more. Then when you finally run out of the bottles you did buy, you start going through withdrawals. During the first few days you'll notice your cheeks sinking, eyes bugging out, and ass dragging. After a few weeks your teeth turn yellow and your hair begins to fall out. You'll really be wishing you were on the mailing list to find out about the special deals. But the emails never come because you were too dam cheap to sign up. So do yourself a favor and take back more wine than you think you'll want. Get on their email list as a backup. At the very least friend them on facebook. Just in case. And enjoy some amazingly good wine. Its just that good!

Yelp
I've known of Bergstrom wines, but have never tried them. So, I was happy to see Bergstrom so close to where we were on our tasting tour. It was Labor Day weekend and a number of wineries were open for public tastings, including Bergstrom. This may have been why the tasting fee wasn't $25 as another reviewer mentioned, or perhaps they saw the folley in charging $25 to taste four or five wines. Nonetheless, I saw huge value in the tasting here. For one thing, you get five fantastic wines as opposed to one or two that are actually good and the rest that are crap. Secondly, we got the biggest pours of the weekend here, and when you're drinking great wine, that's a big plus. Finally, you can sit outside enjoying the beautiful view of vineyards surrounding you and the pourer will come out and pour the next wine as your tasting proceeds. The Sauvignon Blanc was a surprise to see for the Valley, but was extremely tasty. I'm not much of a fan of Sauv Blancs from places not called New Zealand, but this was probably my second favorite American Sauv Blanc. The Chardonnay was quite well done as well, providing nice balance and not overly oaked or malo fermented. The Pinots are really where it's at though. The Willamette was fine, but nothing special. The single vineyard they were serving (I forgot now) was very good, but he reserve pinot was unbelievable. They'll also wave your fee here if you buy enough wine, and they'll sell you library wines. Our friends were looking for a good 2007 vintage wine to put down for their daughter's birth year and were able to purchase a magnum of the 2007 reserve pinot, signed by the winemaker himself.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my new favorite winery in Willamette Valley. We came here after doing some research and also getting a recommendation from a respected source. They were having an open house for Memorial Day Weekend, which included food from Olympia Provisions. The wines were excellent. The owners were there to talk with. There was outside area where with the views of the vineyards. The wines were excellent. They had a chardonnay that was very pricy, but has completely changed my opinions about what a good chardonnay can be. I normally am like, meh, chardonnay, whatever. But I was thinking about it for hours after tasting it. Of course their pinot is on point too. And they had some syrahs, which can be a nice change after drinking so much pinot. I will definitely come back, kind of want to join their club, and if the Memorial Day open house thing happens again, I will be there in a hot minute.
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
Bergstrom wines are truly exceptional. They have a nice tasting room in Newberg where you can try their lovely wines. Just be careful not to get you car stuck in the mud. We had to help push my mom's car out of the mud after tasting last year. It was November and the ground was really soft and the station wagon sunk in pretty well while we were tasting. Fortunately, the other patrons were super helpful and nice and we all got out there and freed the car. From now on, we take my brother's 4WD truck. But, back to the wines. Bergstrom has been written up a lot in Wine Spectator and their pinots are rated very highly. Unfortunately, this also means that they are priced pretty high too. Definitely wine for someone with extra cash to throw around. The make really elegant, delicate pinot noir that is a pleasure to drink. Chahalem is still my favorite, but this place is definitely a place worth stopping by and they have regular hours for their tasting room which is pretty rare in Oregon.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Had a private tasting which was awesome. They served great cheeses, meats, and hazelnuts and told us all about the family and wines. The wines are good, reliable brand that you can find at many restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
Bergström was the midday stop on my Sunday winery tour. I'm happy it worked out that way because my friend and I were certainly ready to snack on our picnic lunch at this point. We started out in the tasting room with the one of their chardonnays. I think it was the Sigrid, but now I'm not so sure. Next on the list was the '09 Old Stones pinot noir. My friend and I both liked it so we purchased a bottle to consume with our picnic lunch. I know we also tried the '09 Shea & '09 de Lancellotti pinots, but I was too hungry at the time to pay attention. I was eager to get outside and eat. Though it rained in the morning, we had a bit of a dry spell at the winery. It was cold and grey but not bad enough to deter us from sitting on the patio. We had great views of the vineyards and had fun visiting with one of the neighbor's golden retrievers who came up for a visit. I don't know how busy this place gets in the summer, but if you are looking for a good place to picnic, this place has one of the better views.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
I didn't have much time so this was the only winery I was able to stop by. It's a small cozy place, so if you've been wine tasting in sonoma or Napa, don't expect a big tasting room and all that out here, it's not like that. $15 got you 5 tastings, 1 chardonnay and 4 Pinot's, but they threw in another Pinot at the end that wasn't on the tasting list. I think their Pinot has a great potential, but I would say of those 2011's I tasted, only one was barely ready to drink, and others, esp. Shea vineyard one had significant tannin that would require years before their ready but I think they will be great--just have to wait about a decade.
google avatar

Haley L.

Yelp
We had a great time here today. Of the several wineries we visited in the area it was our favorite. We bought a bottle that was pricier than what we would usually spend but it was just so memorable we couldn't pass it up. In hindsight I wish we had spent more time there. They were very knowledgeable and hospitable, and we learned a lot about the valley.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends recently. A member of our group had called ahead because we knew that it was a large group. When we arrived at the winery we were escorted back into the barrel room to a beautiful table set with the correct number of glasses, several water carafes and crackers. Our tasting guide did a great job of keeping our glasses full, but not making us feel rushed through a tasting. Their wines really speak for themselves, but their extra effort in customer service did not go unnoticed. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
This was an unplanned stop on our wine tour through the Dundee/Newberg area and what a treat! We lucked out with sunny weather so we were able to sit outside and enjoy a leisurely tasting and enjoyed the amazing view. Great wine and much more service-oriented than a couple of the more well-known wineries in the area. Thank you Vanessa & Kate for such an enjoyable experience!
google avatar

Renee W.

Yelp
Very much enjoyed Bergstrom; beautiful grounds and excellent hospitality. We were there about 10:30 am and that was perfect because it was still early before the crowds came for Memorial Day. Shipment of wine is on the way!

Yelp
This was the second vineyard we went to in the Willamette Valley and I had high expectations for this place because I know that they have good rating within different wine rating systems. Especially there Chardonnay and I do like Chardonnays. When you pull up to the winery it is really, really nice and it also carries a fantastic view. The tasting room was very nice, a little on the small side but accommodating. We were lucky enough to get in, get the tasting started and then were seated outside on the patio for the remainder of the tasting. The view from the patio was amazing. I learned a couple of things while we were here. 1. Our server was a "cellar rat". Never heard this term before but it means that this person is trying to learn winemaking, starting from the bottom up. He was quite knowledgeable about the wines and answered any questions we had. 2. The Pinot Glasses. That is right, in Oregon they have special glasses made specifically for pinots. They are tulip shaped and very cool looking. On to the tastings. The pinots here were very good. These pinots were smooth and fruity and had that awesome dark ruby red color. We also had the privilege to try one of their reserve Pinots side by side with one of their standard pinots. Wow what a difference. The reserve pinot was delicious. You could definitely taste the difference and why the price increase was there. I also got to sample their chardonnay which was also one of the best chardonnays I have ever had. Overall I had a great experience here and would recommend this winery to anyone who visits the Willamette Valley. The best part about the wines here is they are all recommended for aging. I love that. They really set the bar high here.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
My expectations were high hearing about this place from a few people, but unlike other places in Willamette Valley none of the wines really made an impression with me. That said the people were nice, and they only charged us for one of our two tastings. Also, the address on Yelp was off but I submitted a revision so hopefully it's updated now.

Susan C.

Yelp
Wine was good, views were pretty. Person doing wine tasting was awful. Not friendly. Had to pull teeth to get any info about winery. The most expensive wine tasting we did and the only one we did not buy wine from. Very disappointing. Would not recommend the tasting. Fairsing and Colene Clemens in area. Completely different experience. Would highly recommend both!!
google avatar

Todd S.

Yelp
One of the best wines in Oregon! Definitely worth a visit and wine club to join. Their service is great with warm greeting and a high degree of Oregon wine knowledge.
google avatar

Tasha D.

Yelp
The space is pretty and the staff are nice but uninterested (maybe see too many people), the wine's good -- $20 for a tasting with no rebate unless you spend over $100 is just pretentious. Probably wouldn't return.
google avatar

Marissa P.

Yelp
Gorgeous tasting room but small and crowded. I wanted to fall in love with this winery but it was a bit of a disappointment. They were just awarded Winery of the Year 2012 by Wine & Spirits Magazine and I think they might now have grown in to their new found success yet. Don't get me wrong the wines are outstanding and frankly, I usually hate Chardonnays but this one is really quiet good. However, the tasting room was a zoo. We waited patiently for a spot at the bar and when one opened up we grabbed it. However, we did not receive even a hello from the hosts. We waited for quite a while and still were never greeted and we had to flag someone down and ask for the tasting to begin. The hostess had no interest is telling us about the varietals but just poured the wine without a word. After waiting 10 minutes for our next pour we asked to end the tasting because we really weren't getting any service. We were polite about it and explained we understood they were busy but this wasn't the experience we were looking for. The hostess convinces us to stay and assured us that she would pour the rest of the tastings quickly. She poured our next tasting and we never saw her again. For the third tasting one of her colleagues finally came to take care of us. For the fourth, yet another employee jumped in. This one was just rude, as the end with a Chardonnay after the Pinots, you do need to rinse out your glass. When she grabbed the pitcher of water we all held out our glasses for the rinse. She promptly set her pitcher next to us and explained how to rinse out our glasses. It was beyond patronizing. The only reason I'm still giving Bergstrom 3 stars is because the wines really are worth trying. The wine tasting experience left much to be desired.

Yelp
Very pretty setting; very friendly service; wines were so-so (and very expensive) and pours were small. This is a very small winery. They were tasting only their most recent vintage... which they said needed time to age; it wasn't the best I tasted in Oregon. Tasting fee of $15.

Yelp
"For non-wine snobs, you could not feel more welcome, or learn more about the winery! Our server, Taylor, was a wealth of information about the history of the winery, the varieties of the wine, and she answered every question that we had, encouraging us to ask more...."

Yelp
A beautiful location. The wine tasting was completely unsatisfactory. 4 wines for $30, one less wine type available to sample and 75 to 100% more than several other area wineries. The rate charged was unreasonable and left us with a bad taste for Bergstrom.

Yelp
Bergstrom seems to be on everyone's "must visit" list, because they were very busy the day we dropped by. But luckily, it wasn't a problem for the large staff, who did a good job juggling all the tourists. The people are friendly here, though they didn't go into much detail about the company or their wines without some prodding, but we did receive an extra no-charge pour of a special wine they had open... Always a nice touch... However, they were pushing the wine club hard, and we thought the wines are a bit overpriced The grounds are nice, the view is picturesque, and it's worth a visit here to get a good feel for the local countryside No appointment is required, the tasting fee is $20...

Yelp
I didn't actually make it inside so take this review for what it's worth. We had a good 5 minutes before they closed... but they stopped us at the door. For a winery out in BFE they should have let us in for a quick taste. Guess I can scratch this one off the list.

Yelp
The wine was decent, the staff not my favorite. While somewhat knowledgeable the tasting was small, the cost was 25 per person, and even buying wine was not waived. With better wine, and better staff, there is no reason to go there.

Yelp
I was not very impressed with this winery when you compare it with the caliber of some of the surrounding wineries. The tasting fee was on the high side at $20 each, and you need to purchase more than $100 to be comped the fee. Pretty decent wines overall, just didn't justify the expense.
