The worst part about this restaurant is that I’ll never be able to experience it for the first time again. The food was amazing, service (Sergio) was prompt and friendly, drinks were amazing, and more importantly, the overall vibe of the restaurant is impeccable. The Lamb Pappardelle was next level delicious and I KNOW that the next meal will be just as good. Amazing. Congrats Berkley Common.

Google
The atmosphere was great and the service was phenomenal. Our server was Ariana! We started off with the focaccia and gyoza. The gyoza was great, awesome umami flavors from the mushrooms. Our mains were braised short rib with creamy polenta, and herb crusted salmon! They were both delightful. The flavors work great together. We ended our meal with a baklava cheesecake. It was an interesting and delicious take on cheesecake! Our drinks were very tasty, cocktails took longer to come out than when we ordered wine. We got the BC G&T, Flippin’ the bird, Polar berry Margarita, Smoky mountain Harvest, and two glasses of wine. Our favorite cocktail was the Smoky Mountain Harvest! It was a great take on a New York sour. Overall we had a great experience and I will be back!

We ordered the bone marrow burger (one medium rare, one medium). As we enjoyed the grey tea-infused old fashioned and a gin & tonic, we eased into our weekend (the place has atmosphere). The burgers were out in short order. The problem is, both were cooked as medium rare (they refer to it as "pink," or "no pink.") So how does that happen? I mean there were a total of 8 people in the restaurant. The other issue, is that this place charges you 3% for using a credit card. I mean, you accept credit cards, but charge us to use them? That should be a normal cost of doing business, and part of your overall business model. So as a customer we could either pay cash, deduct 3% from the tip, or just not dine here any longer. We eat out nearly every weekend and rarely if ever, see this charge. This is a fundamental issue, and does nothing to make the experience a good one for patrons. Four drinks represent 57% of the total tab and charging extra to use a credit card is like pouring salt on the burger cooked incorrectly. I'm afraid the value just isn't here.

Every single dish we had was absolutely extraordinary. Everyone needs to try the pizza frita at least once or twice. Prices are reasonable and the services incredible. Will definitely be back.

Google
A beautiful place for a fancy dinner. Was a bit loud with how crowded it got on a Saturday night but that’s not their fault for being so popular. The food was absolutely divine. The short ribs melted in my mouth.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Metro Detroit area. The service is excellent and it's a beautiful restaurant. We had the cauliflower wings and they had the perfect amount of heat and tremendous flavor. The Pad Thai was filled with a delicious complexity of flavor. My son said the Seared Salmon was one of the best salmon dishes he's ever had. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The waiter apologized for the 25 wait for the salmon, but we're dining out and having some great conversation in a lovely restaurant. The desert was incredible, too. Whatever dessert you choose, it will bring a smile to your face. All of the portion sizes were absolutely perfect. This is January 2023, and they have just switched to a new seasonal menu. This is a great date night restaurant or just a lovely brunch spot with friends.

Not the way I like to spend $50 per person. Worst Bloody Mary ever and raw branzino were the lowest points. Service and ambiance were nice and they didn’t charge us for the branzino. Good gnocchi, but the sauce and wild boar not so much. The roasted carrots were fine. For dessert, we liked the giant slice of carrot cheesecake, but the French pie was too heavy. Both should be shared. Overall, I’m giving 3 stars because the food is not good enough, especially considering how expensive it is.

Google
Would not recommend with the new change in ownership. The menu on their website does not currently match their actual menu. Had dinner the evening of 7/12/24. Restaurant is terribly under staffed. All tables were occupied and there were only two servers and one bartender that were working their tails off. Food comes out very slow, I’m assuming the kitchen maybe under staffed as well. Dinner took about 2 hours due to kitchen speed. The menu is currently all Italian food and sadly the burger is off the menu. We made the reservation in advance because we saw it was available online, but the menu on their website is not accurate. My son’s buttered noodles for kids was $15 and tasted terrible. He didn’t want to finish them and didn’t like them. The attached picture is my wife’s spaghetti dish that was $20, it looked exactly like and tasted like my son’s buttered noodles. So $35 for buttered noodles. You see what I’m saying. My dish was the sausage pesto, it made me sick later that evening. The staff was so over worked that I didn’t want to send the food back so we just paid for it and left. The servers and bartender are so nice and professional despite such a stressful work environment. Will not come back unless there’s major changes.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, what a great restaurant in lovely Berkley! The dining area is beautifully rustic and cozy. The whipped feta is divine, the roasted carrots are delicious, the butternut squash soup is good. The best entree we had was the branzino, this is a must try dish. The service was friendly and fast. The only downside was the YouTube videos playing over the bar which are so mesmerizing that we were distracted repeatedly. All in all, I will be back and devouring the branzino!

Gary B.

Yelp
Very limited street parking, medium sized free city lot behind. A clean, large pub space. We did not try the food, but the bartender and staff were nice. He makes his own syrups for the specialty drinks, and they were good. A small but good draft beer selection. There is also a sports bar next door, and Mexican bar/eatery just across the road.

Yelp
Phenomenal food, drinks, and service! Cool vibes, and a very friendly, welcoming staff. The GM, Evan, checked on us regularly and delivered exquisite drinks. McKenna was our server and provided stellar service. We were treated so well and can't wait to come back. The food is wow! To start, we had the whipped feta, which was drizzled with honey and served with sourdough. We definitely recommend it. We also had the truffle fries, and the fries were nice and crisp. For my main course, I had the Cacio de Pepe, which was perfectly al dente and so fresh. It's such a difference when it's homemade noodles. My mom loved her burger. Normally, my mom has to add salt and pepper to her burger, but with this burger she didn't need to. She was impressed with how well seasoned it was. For dessert, my mom enjoyed the cheesecake with a mixed berry compote. I loved the vegan chocolate raspberry tart. The drinks are sooooooooo good. Evan helped my mom out with a great gin recommendation. She loves gin and tonic. I had two delicious cocktails. I had the Lavender Haze and the Pain Killer. I loved them both! Easy free parking behind the building. Everything was perfect! You should definitely go here!!!

Nathan C.

Yelp
The service and food were great! The bartender is especially talented and makes the best martinis!

Tiana H.

Yelp
Service was great, Lavender drink was refreshing! They were in the most of switching from brunch to lunch! They bar is fully stocked, great beers too! Ambiance was great, upbeat Latin music! Very laid back!

Ben V.

Yelp
This was a great way to celebrate a lions win! The fried burrata was incredible and the sliders were my other favorite. The other highlights were the truffle fries which were definitely trufflely and the carrots which tasted as good as they looked! The service was on top of things and took our order right away. The restaurant is dimly lit which gives it pretty cool vibes overall.

Yelp
Has to be in contention for the best Burger! Servers and bar tenders (mixologists) are easygoing and do a nice job explaining what's good and offer insights to trying new items beyond the burger. Good spot, Unique's menus, and very tasty items .be adventurous and head down to Berkeley and give these folks a try, you won't be disappointed

Tracy J.

Yelp
This restaurant is cozy and small, and I could see having to wait on a busy evening. I love the decor - it's very crisp and clean and very trendy. We enjoyed the small band that was playing during our dinner. The pumpkin spice espresso martini was delicious. Our server was fast, polite, and helpful with our menu questions. Our food was delicious and arrived quickly to our table.

Yelp
After trying to go to a different place for dinner and being told it was an hour wait my friend called Berkley common and was told they had no wait for our party of 6. We made our way to the restaurant and as promised were immediately seated. Our server was very nice and attentive. We all ordered the waygu burger which is served with a side of fries. The burger was cooked perfectly, the only thing that would have made it better would be actual bacon instead of only bacon jam. (Although the jam was very flavorful). The bartender made each of our drinks to order and you can tell he was an actual bartender who took his craft seriously. I also ordered the corn ribs which were tasty and a good portion size. I've driven by Berkley common so many times and never stopped in. I will add them to my local spots from now on.

Yelp
First time visiting. I decided to check out this restaurant last night after reading a few reviews and viewing the posted menu. The menu posted here on Yelp is apparently an old menu. Nothing I went to try was still available. I was disappointed, but didn't want to turn around and leave so I decided to find something else to try. It took me some time to decide on something. I couldn't find anything that I found appealing. In my opinion, the posted menu had much more of a variety to suit varying tastes. I finally decided on the Kimchi fried rice. I thought surely that it would be a showstopper at $30, but I was sorely disappointed. The rice was spicy, and that's the only compliment I can give it. The entire dish was overcooked. The rice was chewy, the steak was well done...speaking of the steak... Before the dish came out, I looked at the $30 price and thought surely this dish has lots of steak at this price. I went ahead and ordered it thinking that if it contains plenty of meat that it would be worth the price. Nope... There were five (at best) tiny slivers of steak. Tiny being the length of a tootsie roll, and that's being generous. I kicked myself all the way home for not turning around and leaving after finding out what I wanted was no longer on the menu. I couldn't throw the rice away after spending so much for it, so I actually stopped at the neighborhood Chinese carryout for almond chicken to add to the rice. I did however really enjoy the Bourbon drink. I'd have that again for sure.

Yelp
What happened to this place? The new owners have made it unbearable to eat here. The place is mis-managed and a cluster f- to try to get a meal in under 50 minutes. The menu used to be an interesting fusion of flavors and influences - now it's just weird and over-priced. Never going back!

Brendan B.

Yelp
I heard a lot of mix reviews on this place but wanted to give it a go myself. After living in this area for quite sometime now I figured I head there for lunch. I barely write any negative reviews, but this one was just terrible. We got there at 12:45 for some lunch. We sat down finally after waiting at the door for 10 mins with no one walking up to us just looking at us. When we didn't sat down we didn't get our drink orders until 25 mins after sitting. We rushed our order quickly with the Whipped Feta and a couple cocktails. Our water wasn't brought to us until 45 mins of sitting. I was getting ready to just tell them stop the food order because everyone around us that has been there before us said they've been waiting hours for there meal. I finally said something to one of the waiters 1 hour in. I asked if we can just pay for our drinks because we didn't realize it was going to take this long. He instantly comes back with the whipped feta and receipts. The whipped feta looked pathetic. It took them 1 hour to spread some feta on a plate with a couple stale pieces of bread. He said he wasn't going to charge me for the appetizer after waiting. I will not be returning as my experience wasn't what I was looking for.

Yelp
This is an amazing restaurant. I had the white fish, and it was the most perfectly cooked fish ever had in my life. Our server could not have been friendlier. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Allyson M.

Yelp
Berkley Common is one of our go-to spots in the area. It's the perfect walkable spot if you live in Berkley, and it's great for meeting friends or bringing out-of-towners. Not only is the food delicious, with a regularly changing/seasonal menu, but they have great cocktails and can accommodate any tastes, even mocktails! The burger is a winner, and they make the best fries. They recently added a lamb pappardelle and it's incredible. We also love their shaved salad - so nice for lunch in the summer. Get the firecracker cauliflower as a starter - yum! Love having BC in the neighborhood. Very cute ambiance, free Berkley parking, and even fun outdoor seating year-round.

Kaileigh H.

Yelp
Service was great! Food was amazing for the minimal options on the brunch menu. Service was our standing and fun. Drinks off the charts. It's a little pricey for what you get but it's all good. Gives off a 1920s art deco vibe with upscale feel. So fun little spot.

Jeff D.

Yelp
Berkley Common is a great spot to grab a quick drink with friends or a bite to eat -- I'd say it's under-appreciated, and on some level I kind of want to keep it as a hidden gem in the area! I've been to Berkeley Common a couple of times over the years and it's always a chill spot to meet up and have a good conversation. Their cocktail lineup always has some interesting options, and I appreciate that they have some unique food options too! I've tried a few different cocktails and haven't gone wrong yet, I'd definitely recommend trying out a few and seeing what piques your interest most. The food portions can be massive too, I got the sweet potato fries and the bowl was enough for a full dinner course in and of itself. Overall, if you live in Royal Oak/ Berkley and haven't tried out Berkeley Common... I think you need to!

Stacia G.

Yelp
Restaurant downtown, parking out back is free. Took a minute to get our drinks and they gave us a complimentary drink for the wait. I had a delicious VEGAN gnocchi with a delicious sauce that tasted like cream... yum yum in my tum tum. (For the lactose intolerant...no lactaid needed or necessary.) I had the hasta luego drink with mezcal and chartreuse because it sounded interesting- it was ok- not as good as I expected. We had the whitefish dip for an appetizer and it was very yummy. My companion had the BC burger and gave it a solid review. I'll be back!

Vernon B.

Yelp
Fist time ordering from here. Made an order via door dash and it was good, except... they were out of their beet salad so they substituted the firecracker cauliflower, for some reason. I was unaware they were going to do that until I got the order. This is something I would have never ordered and it seems an odd choice of substitution. It was good though. I just wished they let me know they were out of the beet salad so I could make the choice.

Allison K.

Yelp
Always love the unique selection of different food dishes to get here. They also have a great selection of cocktails and beers. I heard the waiter say that they change their menu up every 3 months so it's nice to always have something new to try. Great place to have in Berkley!

Nargis H.

Yelp
A friend reserved one of the igloos for dinner for a group of us. I had been wanting to try the whole igloo experience and Berkeley common did not disappoint. Reservations are required for the igloo including a deposit that will go towards your final bill. I was worried it would be cold considering it was the beginning of Feb but not to worry the igloo's do have space heaters and they can get quite toasty, I was even able to take my coat off midway through dinner. Since there was quite a few of us we were able to try almost every appetizer on the menu. My personal favorite were the dumplings, very flavorful with the lemongrass. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees and the cocktails were pretty good as well. Overall I had a wonderful igloo experience and will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try.

Liz P.

Yelp
This place was really good! I had never heard of it before, but I also don't get to Berkley much, even though I live close by. My dinner companion suggested either this or 24 Seconds, and BC's menu looked better. We shared the Korean BBQ chicken which were actually more like chicken tenders, and which were in a sweet sauce. They were very good and you get a large portion. For dinner, I had the chicken sandwich, which was HUGE, and I subbed sweet potato fries in for regular fries. My companion had the burger, and added avocado, which was more of an avocado mash, and bacon. The prices aren't cheap here but you do get huge portions - I definitely have half my chicken sandwich and fries for tomorrow - and everything was delicious. They also have igloos outside, which I assume will be open in the winter, and there is easy parking in back (on the side not facing 12 Mile). Our waitress was also very good and she checked on us frequently. I'll be back again and probably will try the burger next time! For dessert, they also had a BACON brownie which sounded epic, too.

Emily V.

Yelp
Just went on NYE and my husband and I had a lovely time! We had reservations to avoid any wait. The server Eric was busy but at all times was kind, attentive, and well versed on the menu. We loved the bruschetta (I loved it so much I didn't want anything else) which was on a fluffy focaccia bread, but we continued and split the lamb pappardelle as our entree which was very yummy and great quality! We also ordered the peppers and feta (we were surprised it was a cold dish but still quite tasty but not sure we would get again). Then we ended with the truffle sliders which are our favorite! Highly recommend! We had some good beers and a cocktail as well. Their cocktails switch up for the seasons which is fun. We love the ambiance here with the decor, lighting and music playing in the background. Felt like the quality of going to Detroit but right at home in Berkley. We had been before for a date night for cocktails and really enjoyed the cocktail selection!

Amy M.

Yelp
Went here tonight with great memories of the last time we were here for dinner. Unfortunately tonight it was just awful. I ordered the salmon entree, husband ordered a burger. Our wait was almost an hour for our food and then, one bite and I was looking for a fire extinguisher! The spices used burned my esophagus going down and was just totally inedible. Not sure what that even was!! But guess what, we still had to pay for it. Our waiter wanted the chef to come out and talk to us... really? Of course he refused. (go somewhere else for a good meal these days)

Celeste H.

Yelp
We had the sliders and one of their chicken sandwiches; food was pretty good, service was pretty slow. But otherwise would recommend checking it out. We also tried a few drinks - the espresso w/ lavender was one of the strangest combinations I've ever had, but surprisingly good!

Anne S.

Yelp
Tonight was my first time back since they changed owners, and I'm so glad I went! It's a bit pricier now, but everything was amazing and tasted homemade. It was a special night out, so we kind of went all out. I had the Limited Issue cocktail, a glass of Croatian wine, the vegan curry, and shared the Korean fried chicken appetizer and chocolate pavé. Everything was excellent and had layers of flavor. They probably needed one more server in the restaurant because things were a touch slow, but it's not a fast dining restaurant anyways - you definitely want to take your time and enjoy things. Everyone was working hard and were super pleasant, and our waiter was great.

Karolina K.

Yelp
It was pretty empty when we arrived there at 5:30 on Saturday afternoon and this was a plus since we were able to choose a table outside. I really like their patio and diffetent tables that can accommodate small or larger groups. I wanted to try their vegan options and decided to go with the VBLT and a side of their famous sweet potato fries. My hubby got a burger with regular fries and beer. We both enjoyed our meals although I wasn't a big fan of their vegan aioli that is in the sandwich, it tasted like yogurt mixed with some spicy oil and wasn't good at all. They need to improve that recipe for sure. Sweet potato fries were delicious but I think I prefer them not without the syrup so they are not overly sweet (almost like a dessert). Hubby liked the burger but he said it was a little dry. I guess it's because they make two very thin patties so it's difficult to make it juicy. Service was very good. We may be back to try some other menu items but since it's pretty pricey probably not very soon.

Andrew W.

Yelp
Definitely fitting into the "New American" category. Everything is made with love. They have a real chef and also a real pastry chef and it shows. The menu is seasonal with a mix of different cultural influences. I've never had a bad meal here. Oh and do get dessert!

Jona R.

Yelp
The food here was really good and the drinks were great too and for that I give a high rating. However, this place is very over priced. If they are going to charge as a high end restaurant, I'd expect the environment to reflect that. We were sitting on bar stools and the drinks we ordered they had ran out of the ingredients so we couldn't have another on, which to me is weird. Our waiter was friendly and helpful but after he served us our food, he disappeared. We had a large party and you'd think they'd be attentive but maybe because the tips already included with a large party, they didn't care. I'd come here again but not with a large party.

Scott K.

Yelp
Honestly? Spectacular food for the price. Everything I've had here so far was great. The Misco Sour drink I hit was nice and citrus-y. The Wild Boar Gnocchi was excellent. Hard to go wrong here.

Patrick Charles R.

Yelp
The Wagyu burger might be one of the tastiest burgers i've ever had in my life. I waited an extra 10 minutes longer than expected and damn, i would've waited an hour for that burger. A+++. I will be a frequent customer now

Chris W.

Yelp
I really liked this place. Food was great. Service was great. Drinks were great. Plenty of parking in the back lots. I had their burger and always have to tip my hat to a place that makes a great double patty burger. Not pricy in my opinion but still delicious. Added the fries which is a hefty portion. Loved the fries as well. Good bourbon selection as well! Checked all the boxes for my travel

Aaron K.

Yelp
Very good menu and good service. More than anything I love their assorted desserts which change from time to time. Great for late night drinks.

Cortney L.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but it just was not good. The risotto tasted like split pea baby food, there were flies buzzing all over the place, and we were basically ignored by our waitress (even though the dining room was only about half full). The vibe was decent but nothing too spectacular and my husband's burger was pretty good, but there are much better places in the area for the money. We won't be coming back.

McKenna G.

Yelp
We have been to BC several times over the past 4 years, including ordering take out during the height of the pandemic to keep them in business. However, tonight was the first time in a while we had been and were surprised to see a new menu. We went for the Korean fried chicken which is no longer on the menu, which was disappointing. We stayed and ordered the duck fat truffle fries which were good but not worth $15. To be fair, we did enjoy the cocktails. BC was previously a great casual dining location, now they have created an upscale menu in a casual space that just doesn't seem to fit. We witnessed most people ordering the burger and fries which I feel like indicates the customer base also wants the old casual dining experience back.

Kris C.

Yelp
This joint has the same vibe, affected service and recycled menu as multiple other spots around Berkley, Royal Oak, Ferndale, etc.. The drive to be "on trend" with over-priced cauliflower and "been there, done that" Korean fusion, zaps any soul out of this place. And turn the music down. Nobody's impressed with your Spotify indie playlist.

Eowyn K.

Yelp
A friend reserved an "igloo" for our group. This is a current tread I hope does continue, it creates a nice intimate space like a private enclosed porch. Berkley Common does a particularly nice job with the igloo and patio space, invitingly lite and fire pits. I did feel bad for the servers having to run in and out though. Taylor was wonderful, great service. The menu is short but there is enough variety, note that it is vegetarian and vegan friendly. That said, they participate in one of my least favorite treads: calling veg dishes a form of meat. I see no point in calling cauliflower "wings" or "steak". Are you trying to trick a child into eating this? Do a good job with the ingredients and let them be what they are. [End rant.] Our group did drinks and shared apps. Their holiday cocktail was bright and festive. We also ordered chicken lemongrass potstickers, the carrots and sweet potato fries. The first two were good, though my friend did not like the pot stickers, I think the lemongrass threw her off. The sweet potato fries were phenomenal, especially as they did come with honey mustard (much preferred to have a paired sauce and not the table ketchup). A big bowl, dressed with a sticky, lightly sweet sauce and topped with crushed pistachios. Worth a visit just for the fries. Berkley Common is a bit on the pricey side, though the portion size is good. The igloo has to be reserved and there is a $200 reservation fee, which is completely understandable, that is put towards your order. Our group spent the amount, I'm not sure if you need to spend that amount or if you just get the rest back.

Yelp
October 2022 update - It seems that BC has been sold to new owners. A good friend of ours sent us a copy of the menu and it's mostly new, except for the "BC Burger." The report was that the food was good, but very pricey. The venerable BC Burger is now the least expensive entree on the menu and is still $16.00, but no longer includes fries. If you want to live a little and have fries with your burger, it'll set you back another $5 bucks. $21 for a hamburger and fries is pretty steep for us and it's a little hard to justify. The remainder of the current entree menu has an average price of over $31.00. To be fair to the new owners, we have not eaten there since the change in ownership and perhaps it's amazing, but it's just too pricey for us. We've been residents of Berkley for almost 32 years and we love nothing more than to see local businesses succeed through local support. My fear is that the new Berkley Common has priced itself out of the local market. If they can sustain those prices, then more the better for them. Unfortunately, it will happen without the trade of many hard-working Berkley residents for whom these prices are just too steep.

Tamika R.

Yelp
I absolutely love the atmosphere here. I have been a few times and I some how cant get enough of their meatballs. Their so very tasty. I had their steak frites and it was delicious. It is definitely a spot to go try out.

Brad H.

Yelp
Nice food, cute place, no service. Half hour to get a soda. Don't bother if you're looking to enjoy cocktails.

Ali D.

Yelp
I went to Berkley Common on a Friday night with a group of friends and the service was terrible. The food we ordered took over an hour to come out, meanwhile people who came in after us had ordered, eaten and paid while we were still waiting for our food. The waiter did not seem at all concerned or apologetic. I saw another staff member scold a group of girls for standing in her way (not the way to handle that). Two of our party waited over an hour to even get waters and I waited just as long for a refill on mine. Our server never checked in. We finally did get our food and it was just okay. Their menu is kind of sparse and the food isn't worth waiting over an hour for. My husband and I got a small salad, the cauliflower and two non-alcoholic drinks and that came to $44. The music was so loud I couldn't hear the people at my table and they left the door to the patio open so the restaurant was freezing. I'll also say the bathrooms were disgusting and could have used some serious attention. Finally when we got our check, a 20% gratuity had been added on for our party of 6. I thought that was ridiculous and completely undeserved due to the lack of service. I would NOT recommend and will not be going back.

Robert M.

Yelp
The most truffle-y risotto I've ever had--delicious! We also got the lamb pappardelle, which was extremely tender and very good. We'd come back again next time we're in the neighborhood

Jane K.

Yelp
I have never been to a business with louder music levels, and that includes dance clubs. The music volume was so incredibly loud that we couldn't hear the people we were dining with and we couldn't hear the server. We asked twice if the volume could be lowered, and we were told it would be, however the volume didn't change. This wasn't ordinary loud or boisterous; it was vibrating-your-bones loud. The type of music wasn't the issue. The issue was that it was *painful* and it made conversation impossible. We would have left, however we believed the request to lower the volume would be honored and we'd already ordered our dinner. After we left, my ears were ringing for hours. I will not return.

Yelp
My son's soccer team hosted a party there. It was a great space, amazing bar, great bartender and got plenty of food for the small amount we had to pay per family!

Yelp
So we're in the mood for a good burger & we end up here and we're so GLAD we did! This place has a great vibe...pinball machines, bar, tables, outdoor seating and neon lights- YES please. Our waitress was amazing...Emily! What a great time we had with her & she was so helpful! We started with the Korean fried cauliflower (I asked for the recipe, that's how much I liked it!) crispy, a bit spicy and a lot delicious! We also ordered with the burrata salad--green tomatoes, beet puree, a delicious dressing, this was a heck yes too! Moving on to the burger...you can't order your burgers temperature because the patties are thin. Good thing because you can actually hold it! The toppings were delicious, fresh & crisp. The burger meat was also very good and seasoned deliciously! I loved this burger. The sweet potato fries....HOLY BATMAN! Would you ever think that a bourbon syrup and crushed pistachios would be delicious spread on sweet potatoes?? Well, it is! I would order this as a large order--this was amazing to me. This place is such a cool setting with a bar that serves uncommonly good food!

Yelp
Nice restaurant with a laid back vibe. Lots to offer on the menu, including a few vegan options. My husband had the spicy noodle bowl and I had the banh mi. We were both very happy with our meal choices and stuffed by the end of dinner. The drink menu had a lot to offer as well with great beers on tap. My only complaint is that both food and drinks were quite expensive. But overall it was a great experience and I'd go back!

Yelp
Service was horrible. Left before we even got the food. Also, its overpriced too since the new owners took over.

Yelp
I've been to Berkley Common a few times since my last review (mostly in the past year) and I can say that the issues I experienced on my first review were "growing pains" of a new business. Good service and good food - fairly consistently. The chicken sandwich never disappoints and this time I tried the sweet potato fries with the maple glaze and they were . The roasted carrots with the raspberry sauce and pistachios were also fantastic! Great restaurant to have in Berkley!

Yelp
Berkley Common has got the Igloo Outdoor Dining life down!!! Keeping everyone's spirits up this Covid holiday! Staff stay outside, cleaned in between guests so 90 minute limit (you won't need more) We reserved a Saturday Brunch igloo for 3 with a guarantee of $150.00 (no, 3 people won't eat $150 worth of brunch so we are taking home a $50 gift card for future eats!) #1 recommended: MULLED WINE! They have the best! Something I wouldn't have ordered inside. Surprised how much I enjoyed that! Korean cauliflower wings are a MUST. Husband in love with the burger, as usual, and me with the warm Brussels salad (with bacon and candied nuts) Daughter had the veggie scramble And then just to support and spend that $, we ordered the dessert smorgasbord, which is a toasted marshmallow dip and cookies/crackers, which is just a fun way to enjoy the winter igloo and the holiday season. I've always loved this place and I applaud their Covid pivot. We are in the same industry and it isn't easy. They've kept their food on point and service stepped up with an outdoor dining room. Still my favorite brunch spot in the Detroit area.

Yelp
Such a great spot for a casual yet satisfying lunch/dinner! We came around 4pm so it was relatively quiet and they let us have one of the igloos to dine in which was so nice. Our waiter was very warm and welcoming and checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. I'm vegan and ordered the Kale Salad and Vegan Stew. The salad isn't normally vegan but can be made vegan by request (along with other menu items). The pecans aren't vegan and we knew to ask once the salad arrived and they were so apologetic and comped the salad for us. The drink options are super fun and delicious. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone, but especially for Vegans!

Yelp
The igloo/outside area of Berkley Common is a must to go to in order to safely get out of the house and enjoy a nice meal. They had two heaters in the igloo, which was warm enough to enjoy a meal without wearing your jacket in the freezing cold weather of Michigan. To reserve an igloo is pricey, but all the money will go towards your meal or returned to you via a Berkley Common gift card if you did not use it all. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with chips! The chicken was crispy on the outside but melt-in-your-mouth good on the inside. Highly recommend this sandwich and restaurant. They switch up their menu frequently so check it out ever season!
