Great escape from the city. Small and extremely beautiful island. Many boats depart from Peniche at 10/10:30 and 14:30,14:45. Regular trip 25€, with caves visit 35€. Recommend to explore the caves, nice possibility to look around the island from the water. After the caves tour you can disembark near the castle and walk back to the starting point, it's shorter if you have limitations, but hilly with many steps. On the island is a route to walk around, highly recommend. 1 beach that is usually busy, public bathrooms nearby where boat arrives. Several bars, better to pack a picnic 😉 Enjoy!

Great day trip - lovely place to spend a few hours as you can see most of the island in that time. Strong recommend.

Great one day trip destination. As it's part of a reservation you can not wonder too much, but the trails offer enough challenge for a bit of hiking, and the water seemed very invinting for a swim!

A place out of a fairy tale. Every picture you take comes out like a postcard. The waters are turquoise, the sky is heavenly blue, the rocks are copper-sunsetty. Every view takes your breath away, it is an hour drive from Lisbon and 2h from Aveiro, make sure you don't miss a chance to visit.

A Hidden Gem: The Berlengas Archipelago I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Berlengas Archipelago, a hidden gem located off the coast of Portugal. This stunning group of islands offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The main island, Berlenga Grande, is a paradise for hikers and bird watchers. The island’s rugged landscape is dotted with scenic trails that lead to breathtaking viewpoints. One of the highlights of my trip was the walk to the São João Baptista Fort, a historical fortress perched on the cliffs. The views from the fort are simply spectacular, providing a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding islands. What makes Berlengas truly special is its commitment to conservation. The islands are part of a nature reserve, and efforts are made to protect the unique flora and fauna. This dedication to preserving the natural beauty of the archipelago ensures that future generations can enjoy its wonders. In summary, the Berlengas Archipelago is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Portugal. Whether you’re interested in hiking, bird watching, snorkeling, or simply relaxing in a pristine natural setting, Berlengas has something to offer. I can’t wait to return and explore more of this beautiful place.

It has been one of my favorite places to visit in Portugal, I think we tend to travel to big cities but if you have time try to fit this into your itinerary. You will not regret any of this visit, is one day visit, don't forget the swimsuit and the camara because if you're lucky you will get many nice shots here

Pretty amazing trip today to the island. Cave tours were good. Beach was amazing. Tour guides were great. My only suggestion is that go on a calm day. Rough seas made the trip a bit uncomfortable on the way there. Also the VAT tax can be paid by your tour guide and then you give them cash. Have fun!
