"Opened in 1999, the hotel comprises a French country–style home with copper chandeliers, whose rooms are done up in tones of terra-cotta, ocher, chocolate, and celadon; in addition, there are nine Monterey Territorial–style adobe guesthouses. "You’ll enjoy beautiful scenery all around," thanks in part to the property’s eight acres of wine vineyards and 300 rose bushes. "I was greeted with a glass of their vineyard’s wine and then escorted to my room overlooking the valley." Each "gorgeous suite" has a stone fireplace, English armoires, Italian linens, a two-person deep soaking tub, French doors that open onto private decks, and complimentary in-room wine.
