Berndt Ends BBQ

Berndt Ends BBQ is hands down some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Everything about this place is genuine — from the food to the people behind it. The burger I had recently was absolutely incredible — perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with bold, smoky flavor. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and truly care about what they serve. The jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon are a must-try. Crispy, flavorful, with just the right kick — seriously unforgettable. Their green beans and coleslaw are next level. These simple Southern staples are kept true to tradition but executed so well they become unforgettable. Beyond the food, what also makes Berndt Ends BBQ special is the heart behind it. The owners are a kind, welcoming couple who genuinely care about their customers and the community. The atmosphere is clean, relaxed, and inviting — the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the overall value is excellent. If you love authentic barbecue, bold flavors, and locally owned restaurants with heart, this is a place you need to visit.

Passing through on my way to Lake County and looking to take some BBQ home for supper. I got the sampler platter with 4 meats, 3 sides, Texas toast and two drinks. I added two additional meats and a turkey sandwich since we’re feeding 4. All the meats are so tender, juicy and delicious! The owner gave me a sample of turkey and brisket. We enjoyed their bbq beans, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. I’d be willing to drive the hour and 20 for the food again.

Screenshot only lived in plalaka for a few months. This was the best barbecue we have had. Since moving here, the cold saw was great. Mac and cheese was wonderful. Their maple butter is phenomenal ten out of ten definitely recommend

Worth the drive if you're wanting to experience great bbq. Ribs full of flavor and very tender. Datil Beans are also amazing.

Food was amazing. Platters give plenty of food for the price. Brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage was delicious. Nice dining area inside and outside. Service was wonderful. Beef rib special when available is worth it. Picked up the rib by the bone and the meat slid right off. Bacon jalapeno poppers and smoked deviled eggs are a great starter.

The brisket is amazing!! Very chill, relaxed environment, super friendly staff. Definitely recommend, and want to come back!!

We stopped here on the way to the springs and left about 10 pounds heavier. The food was excellent: you can’t go wrong with the ribs or the ultimate porker sandwich. The datil deviled eggs were also incredible. We’ll be back!

Why is it called bernt ends if they are unavailable? My husband was met by a woman who he couldn't hear because she was mumbling. We ordered 2 brisket only dinners. Apparently they were out of some sides as well. She never made it clear all they had for brisket was fatty. Well we ended up with 2 slices each of nothing but fat and 2 pork ribs. We dont eat pork. Before forget I will take a picture of their "sauce". It looks more like watery marinade. We spend alot eating out and are loyal good tippers. We were excited to try here . We will definitely be going to Lees BBQ in ocala when we want bbq. We consider it a waste of money. Unless for so.e reason it was just an off night I would not recommend.

Such a treasure! The husband and wife who own this place are so kind and are amazing cooks. The chicken was the best I've ever had. Brisket was awesome too--So moist and huge pieces. We loved all the sides - especially the green beans! Super clean and yummy-- worth the drive! Go eat at this great locals spot!

Absolutely worth the trip! Our brisket was top notch quality, flavorful and delicious. The owners and staff were friendly and amazing! We look forward to returning again!

Great little gem, just off the roadside, plenty of parking and seating (indoor/ outdoor/ open air). Good prices. Came on a Tuesday at lunch time and enjoyed the iced tea, 1/4 chicken (from the by the pound menu), "Crack" Mac and Cheese, and Datil pepper cornbread. The chicken was soooo moist and perfectly cooked, with a nice dark toasty skin. My companion's chopped pork sandwich was also Incredibly moist and well made. The cornbread muffins were adorable, tiny and their spice will creep up on you :) + great with butter. Waitress was polite and attentive. The area even had outdoor string lights and a fire pit for ambiance in the evenings.

Been passing this place going into Palatka and decided to pull in on 11/16. Definitely a great spot to stop in. It was a Sunday and wasn't too busy. Had the deviled eggs first and oh my, delicious. Wanted the poppers but they were out, just means we'll be back to try them. The brisket was so tender just the way I like it. My husband's sandwich was very tasty too. Service was excellent and if you've thought about trying this business, DO IT.

I'm a retired Bbq restaurant owner traveling and checking out BBQues .for fun. If you're on Rt. 20 in Florida, Don't miss Berndt Ends. I have never had better. It's a fun place with indoor and outdoors dining/ Beer,wine; great service. Friendly.

Legit good BBQ! No frills atmosphere - brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage with really good sides. Served by friendly folks.
