"This delightfully chic and modern restaurant is to be found at the foot of the hill on which Andechs's famous abbey stands. The Holzinger family used to run a farm here, but nowadays they welcome diners with warmth and dedication. While the father handles the service, the son runs the kitchen with his mother's assistance, preparing delicious dishes using fresh ingredients and drawing on regional and international influences. Think sous-vide neck of Bavarian free-range pork with mashed potatoes, Dijon mustard, onion and pork jus, or roasted root chervil, peanut curry crunch, black cumin mayonnaise and orange yoghurt. You can also stay overnight here in one of the really comfortable and spacious maisonettes or suites." - Michelin Inspector

This review is for the restaurant only. We visited the restaurant on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty much empty. Our waiter was very nice and made sure we got everything we needed. My friends and spouse were very happy with their drinks and food and continued to rave about the schnitzel for days after. I am vegetarian so the options were limited for me. I got the fried asparagus and was still pretty hungry after, so I took off a star just for the limited meatless options. Other than that, everything was great!

Great Bavarian Inn close to the monastery and its brewery. The service is warm and friendly, the food imaginative and reasonable. Frozen steins serve Abbey beer. The garden has herbs that serve the kitchen. All in all as nice a spot as you’ll find in the Ammersee.

This was one of the few places open during Christmas Day, so I stumbled upon this by accident. The atmosphere was very warm and cozy. The previous days I've had nothing but kebabs and McDonalds (only places open on the holidays...), so I knew it was time for a proper meal. Ordered the four course meal, uploaded translated menu and prices for reference. I got there right 30 mins before the kitchen opened, but the nice waiter was quick to seat me down and offer me the drink menu. Do get the "andechser spezial hell". This is the wheat beer brewed right at the monastery, by the monks themselves. One of the best beers I've had on my trip The 4 course meal was very decadent and delicious. Each dish had its own special flavor. I never thought I'd say I'd enjoy radish ice cream, but it was impeccable. The pork belly was crisp and full of flavor. Pay no attention to the few bad reviews written in English on Google. You can only imagine what kind of insufferable slobs wrote those behind the keyboard. Place was amazing. It's only a shame I didn't get to try the whole Christmas goose

Just steps from the monastery. Very nice room with great kitchen. Very modern amenities. Being so close to Andechs allowed me to take full advantage of the Brauerei. Breakfast in morning was also very good. Highly recommend!!

The host was super friendly to us and could speak English. We had the veal schnitzel and cold beer from the Kloster which is just a short walk away.

We ate here, we didn’t stay here, no idea the room quality but Google won’t allow the restaurant review without the room star rating

Wonderful food, probably the best flavors of our trip so far. This is the baked goat cheese camembert.

Amazing food. Had Saibling and Zwiebelrostbraten. I will not eat at the Kloster any more when I am in the area.
