i was in missoula and looking for something healthy and online reviews said to check out Bernice’s so I did. I went with colleagues and one got the soup and i got the hummus plate. the soup was cold and tasted more like a gazpacho or salsa and the hummus plate had hummus, chips and a macaroni salad. the prices for the meals was very good as it was cost effective and the portion size decent. the flavor was average good price, decent portion, mild flavor

Bernice’s Bakery did our wedding cake and we had guests raving about how good the cake was. Genuinely stunning and delicious. The cake tasting was also a highlight of our wedding planning journey as you get a fun little to go box that you can mix and match flavors. Overall we really enjoyed our wedding cake and would recommend them to other people.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. I ordered a croissant expecting the usual light, flaky texture, but what I got was more like a dense loaf of bread. If you’re after a traditional French-style croissant, this might not be the best spot. Additionally, I ordered two slices of pumpkin bread, but they forgot to include them. Unfortunately, both times I’ve visited, the staff seemed visibly unhappy or stressed, which affected the overall atmosphere.

Bernice’s Bakery is a Missoula gem! The baked goods are always fresh and delicious, especially the scones and cakes and the coffee never disappoints. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with plenty of cozy spots to sit and enjoy a treat. It’s clear they care about quality and community, and it shows in every detail. A perfect place to meet a friend, grab lunch, or just treat yourself!

So glad I decided to stop here on a whim. In the cutest neighborhood with great welcoming outdoor seating area. The employee was so warm, inviting and patient while I looked over their bountiful display of treats. I had a mocha with house made honey syrup-delicious. The chocolate cupcake was moist and the frosting wasn’t too sweet. The mixed berry croissant was so excellent, you would think it came from a Parisian cafe!

Bernice’s did the cupcakes and cake for my wedding and it turned out so beautiful and tasted amazing. The cake and cupcakes were delivered to the venue and Tamara was easy and friendly to communicate with.

I was so excited to try their food and pastries. The sandwich was not bad, very small but for $4 you get what you pay for. The Arnold Palmer with the fruity black tea was the best thing we had. But the bakery was a huge disappointment. The cookies were rock hard and our day old danish was so dense I couldn't even tear it apart. I really wanted to like this place too 😔 We would return for the coffee/drinks but we’ll skip the pastries.

I live in Texas, and my niece was graduating with her master's degree from the University of Montana--such a proud moment! I wanted to surprise her with something special, but I was short on time and far from Missoula. Enter Cara at Bernice's Bakery. She was an absolute lifesaver! Not only did she help me quickly choose the perfect treat for my nephew to pick up, but she was also incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful throughout the process. She even went the extra mile by recommending a local florist to help me complete the surprise--talk about above and beyond! Thanks to Cara, everything came together beautifully. If you're looking for amazing service and a team that truly cares, Bernice's Bakery is the place to go!

It was an okay bakery--nothing extraordinary, but it served its purpose for a quick stop with the kids. The selection was fairly limited, so if you're looking for a wide variety, this might not be the place. We weren't overly impressed, but we also weren't disappointed--it's a standard small bakery. We've definitely had better, but it worked for a quick bite. On a positive note, they did have some homemade dog treats available, which is a nice touch for pet owners.

I needed a last minute cake for a birthday celebration. It was a Sunday and everything was closed in Hamilton so I started looking in Missoula and found this bakery. They closed at 4:00 so I started driving, hoping to make it on time. I saw that I may not make it so I called and asked if they'd be there a few minutes past closing, explaining I really needed a cake. They said they'd let me in if I made it there shortly after closing. I pulled in at 4:01 and they were closed. I knocked on the door and they were happy to let me in to choose a cake. I purchased the turtle cake and it was absolutely delicious! Moist and not overwhelming with sweetness. Top notch quality! I'm so thankful for the amazing customer service and OUTSTANDING product! THANK YOU! You now have a lifetime customer!

Bunch of a-holes working in the front. Especially a brutus-type blond woman who has a severe chip on her shoulder. Doesn't know what the words "customer service" mean. If you can get past that, the food is good.

I strongly advise anyone wanting a special order cake to call at least 6 months in advance, I was told that pretty much every weekend in May was booked because their bakers and decorators are "overwhelmed." How many people in Missoula are spending 60-90$ on a cake?!?!?! And people want to say the economy is bad! The girls on the phone are super snotty and definitely have a chip on their shoulder. One day it's 48 hours the next is 72 hours then a week then you can't even get a cake for a whole 4 day window a month away!!!!

This bakery is awesome! We drive through Missoula twice a year, and always stop here to buy their pies. The espresso and coffee drinks are good. And their baked goods are fantastic. It's located in a nice walkable neighborhood. Away from busy streets. I highly recommend Bernice's Bakery!

The service was quick and great during breakfast time. The vanilla latte was also fabulous. Would get the croissant again, but probably pass on the danish.

Homemade pies with Flathead cherries. Made to order; hands down, simply incomparable.

I think the products or pastries or whatever you wanna call them are good but I feel like they're overpriced. The cupcake was about four dollars and I think it was about three bites. There are other places in town where you get more bang for your buck. Simply my opinion.

This bakery is adorable. Due to Covid there is currently only carry out. Which doesn't matter the quality is still amazing. The cookies are good, the cupcakes are amazing and the sandwich's and soups always hit the spot. They had a black bean tortilla soup the other day and it did the cold weather justice! It's small inside and the staff is always busy, but kind and attentive. Be patient, they will get to you right away. There are menus hanging in the window to the left when you walk in!

This place is fantastic! Stopped by for a pre-backpacking breakfast. The spicy mushroom quiche was flavorful and satisfying and my friend's latte was smooth and tasty. We sat and played cards in the comfy indoor seating area. Everyone here was kind and the service was great!

We enjoyed our two visits to Bernice's during our stay in Missoula. The staff is very friendly. The coffee and chai latte were good. They have a wide variety of pastries, most of which were good. Unfortunately the croissant was not good at all. Just a bunch of dough with none of the flaky pastry and lamination you expect in a croissant.

When visiting g Missoula - I love visiting Bernice's Bakery. I always get a bag of the whole bean coffee to bring back home. And the cupcakes are fresh and delicious! This time we tried the berry danish, and it was also very good!

Anything from Bernice's is excellent!! I have yet to take a bite of anything from there and not be thoroughly disappointed. The flavors are top notch! My favorite is their toffee bars!

Totally friendly and down-to-earth place - we felt very welcomed and the staff were quick and polite. We got two cookies - a pride themed sugar cookie and a peanut butter cookie. Both were delicious - balanced - not too sweet and substantial. We also got pastries which we ended up eating the next day which may have been a mistake - they ended up a bit dry, but that's our mistake and not theirs. Would definitely swing by if we were in town again!

Love their chai and vegan baked goods. Beautiful ambiance especially after the renovation. The vegan raspberry oat bar and chocolate cupcakes are a must. Great, kind service. We go here every time we visit Missoula!

Love, love, love this place it is a fantastic place to grab a cup of coffee, some fresh bakery, or even sit down and have breakfast with friends. They have some of the best baked goods you can find in the Missoula area from donuts to flaky buttery biscuits to a great cup of coffee and a fantastic price you can't beat the service you can't beat the location. It really should be on your must stop list.

We have always heard of Bernice's as the bakery to check out. We finally stopped in today and overall, the experience was very underwhelming. We purchased a croissant, muffin, and two cupcakes. All four items were dry and had a tight crumb. We only finished the muffin and the other 3 were thrown out. Bernice's does offer local tea, which we enjoyed. The service was meh. Not overly friendly or helpful. The building and atmosphere was cozy, albeit a little cluttered. Some of the furniture was in good need of a dusting. I wouldn't say we'll return any time soon.

I LOVE Bernice's! I've eaten here a bunch of times and the food is always top notch! Every salad or sandwich tastes scratch made and the pastries are delectable. I'm also a fan of their matcha. And the staff is always friendly.

Always closed for something. Drove out of our way twice to find a little sign "closed!" at door. NOT going to be a third time.

My son took me here for a pastry and coffee and I loved it and the people were very nice. Great atmosphere too.

It is a combination bakery restaurant. The restaurant was very busy. The bakery consists of two small display cases with a very limited selection of baked goods. The young girl who waited on me used her bare hands to put my selections in a brown paper bag and copped an attitude when I refused a tip for counter service. The scones were more like stale cake than scones and the cookies ran the gamut from mediocre to disgusting. Based on how busy the restaurant was that might be worth a try but I would avoid the so-called bakery counter at all cost...

This is our favorite bakery! Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, various pastries, coffee, sandwiches and more.....you can find it all here! Their buttercream is the best I've ever had! Every years for about the last 8 years, my husband had bought my birthday cake from Bernice's. The quality is always a 10/10 and so is the presentation. They are on the pricey side for all their items, but I don't mind paying more knowing that the quality I will get will far surpass that of any grocery store!

I know it's a local favorite, but I just didn't connect with it. There were no breakfast sandwich options, and I didn't finish my jalapeño cheddar croissant as it was very dry, kinda stale actually. However, the tea latte was excellent. They have wi-fi, but not for public use; it's 2019 you know. The building definitely has charm and history.

This is a popular bakery. I drooled at the many large and beautiful cakes that I wanted but who buys large cakes as road trip food when traveling? Darn. I settled for two very good croissants.

Specifically stopping by to say how lovely the service has been lately! Always greeted with smiles and hellos, never a long wait! If y'all haven't tried the curried chicken salad, what are you waiting for?? One of my all-time favorites. It's almost cold soup season which is unfortunate but that won't keep me away all summer long. Special shout outs to Karlie, Donna, and Isaabel for slaying the espresso machine! Luke and Brandon continue to crush the lunch rotation. I love it here.

Bernice's is good, not great. The coffee is better elsewhere and the goodies are good across the board, but no one thing is, stop I have to stop at Bernice's for that thing that they do way better than anyone else. Don't get me wrong, the food is solid and maybe you'll find that one thing they do way better in your opinion. You won't be disappointed

Food was great! Very fresh and we plan to come back. So many items we need to come back to try something else. We came early to get breakfast with our kids and got a seat fairly easy.

Incredible coffee and amazing bakery. They even serve lunch! Relaxed and comfortable.

I'm not as blown over as others are about Bernice's. We had coffee and a pastry each, was just ok. Nothing spectacular. Pastry was dry. Looks like they do a lot of specialty orders, cupcakes, cakes etc.

Great selection of pastries. This is the place to get a fancy tasty custom cake. Not much for seating area. All baked goods made on site.

My husband and I decided to order a gender reveal cake from Bernice's Bakery to find out the sex of our new baby. While there was initially a lack of transparency surrounding some of the charges for alterations, it was smoothed out by the owner, Missy. I really appreciated that Missy went above and beyond to make sure that not only were we satisfied with the cake itself, but with the price and with the sales experience. Now for the cake... it was BEAUTIFUL! Elegant, but understated--it was exactly what we were looking for. And it wasn't just an aesthetically pleasing cake either, it was delicious! The buttercream icing is divine. We are so thrilled we chose Bernice's Bakery to create such a delicious and beautiful cake to celebrate such a special moment in our lives. We will definitely be back to try more of their selection and I would highly recommend them if you are ordering a special occasion cake.

I asked for their turkey sandwich special. By the time I got back to my car, I saw that I was given some chicken salad thing that was the size of half a biscuit - for $4. Not what I asked for. Went back in and asked again for what I ordered.. they were out of. Had to go, so I settled for a pecan roll. Super dry and taste about a day old. Shame because I was really looking forward to trying this place.

So many delicious baked goods, but the cinnamon roll, while a little light on the cinnamon, was the fluffiest I've ever tasted.

I haven't been there in a while because i'm cutting carbs but I dream about the cinnamon croissant butter little pastries they make...might have to break my diet soon! Nice cakes too

Amazing coffee and delicious chocolate chip cookie. I had a Cortado and it was perfect, made me smile. A little pricey but what coffee shop isn't these days?

Loved this little bakery. Affordable, homey and tasty. My favorite was the lemon cream cheese danish! The quiche crust was amazing. We got drip coffees, which was strong and bold. Sitting inside was chill and nice. Will be happy to return. Two coffees, muffin, danish and quiche, day old cookies and a coffee refill $13 My kinda place

Fantastic bakery goods. Have had their Quiche, Pies and Cookies. Loved everything. They have terrific help also. Very efficient during the holiday time. Highly recommend them!

We visited Bernice's on a recent visit to Missoula. The staff is really helpful and friendly. We got an apple pie with a crumble topping and it was delicious! We also got a few cookies that were also tasty. I will definitely visit again.

There certainly many condescending people who work there. The people are rude, insensitive to others beliefs and as a senior citizen i found the staff lacking communication skills. I am keeping this low key because i dont want it removed. I am brown skinned and from NYC. Amazing how they know more than me about my life . i will never go there again, also people smoking cigarettes right outside of doorway entrance

Lovely coffee, tasty sandwiches and best lemon bar that I have had in a long time. Lovely of yummy looking cupcakes, pies and celebration cakes. Friendly staff

This bakery has the kindest people working here and I can tell that everyone that puts work into this shop is so creative and wonderful, I have never had a croissant that lasted as long as these ones do but also taste so amazing the texture and fluffiness of these croissants are to die for. I definitely have to say my all-time favorite item is the lime cream cheese danish, it's literally like eating Keylime pie and a croissant all in one! They do special orders also you just have to order ahead of time of course all of the cakes I have seen them do are very beautiful and I'm sure it taste just as amazing as they look.

Bernice's Bakery has carrot cake cupcakes almost every day. Mmm! Friendly, warm in the winter (it's a bakery after all!), and offering many delicious foodstuffs from croissants to cookies to sandwiches and soup, Bernice's is a local favorite.
