Berry Lane Park stands out as the city’s largest municipal park developed in recent decades, transforming a former industrial site into a sprawling, modern recreation complex. The park features turf fields, basketball and tennis courts, a skate park, spray fountains, and open lawns for gatherings. Its creation, covered by NJ.com and Jersey City Times, is celebrated as a symbol of community-driven revitalization and environmental renewal in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood.

Yelp
Great park, large open street plaza with small u and clover bowls with one side a bit oververt. The hips are not easy to hit because they are so wide. One side of the U is steeper than the others and the transition could be smoother. Overall a lot of fun to ride nice flow, some 2 board gaps, the locals seem pretty chill. I feel like the person who designed the bowl was goofy footed so if your goofy you'll love the bowl

Yelp
This place is very Dangerous, kids has some kind of shooting crackers and they are shooting each other and I got hit on my leg and I saw a person got hit on chest, there are kids who just want to pick and fight with you for no reason. this is the worst place to be and have your kid playing there.

Yelp
The new Harriet Tubman mural is more beautiful and impressive in person. Lots of sports activities for families and children to participate in the park. Skateboarding, tennis, football, track, outdoor exercise stations, playgrounds etc. I loved seeing the diversity of people enjoying the park. The weather was also great when we went so it added to fun day we had. Thanks

Yelp
I have been digging this park since it opened; there's so much to do here: - Play ground with big kids and small kids sections - Dope sprinkler park - 2 tennis courts - 4 basketball courts - Baseball field - Bike and jogging path - Football/soccer turf field (with bleachers too!) - Dog run (with water fountain) - Fitness Circuit (9 stations) On most weekends there is usually an ice cream truck or two parked near the playground, but I have yet to see any other vendors. Throughout the park there are a couple different areas for bike parking and car parking is currently pretty easy on Garfield Ave, I hope that doesn't change! There are other parts of the park that are not open yet which I think will be the skate park and a lawn. There are benches throughout the park and picnic tables at the south end by the dog run. Jersey city has Liberty State Park and Lincoln park, which are good for jogging, biking, or chilling out on a blanket. Berry Lane Park is more activity orientated, kind of like a modernized Pershing Field. Berry park is a great addition to the neighborhood and Jersey City overall.

Yelp
Best park for older kids who love a variety in monkey bars. My 7 year old's favorite park. And we have been to almost every park in NYC and Jersey City. My rating of 5 star is only for the equipments. Never before seen monkey bars and a lot of physical activity for older kids.

Yelp
Sick skatepark. Does get packed as the night falls. Good to beginner skaters, not ideal for small kids.

Yelp
I am very new to the area and just moved in a few blocks away. I was very excited to see that there was a dog run so close to my new place as I own a husky who is young and bursting with energy. It's unfortunate that the dog run was torn down as of March 2020. I was really looking forward to being able to bring my dog here regularly to run off lead but sadly that isn't an option atm. Idk if they plan to rebuild it or if it's gone for good since like I stated earlier, I'm very new to the area. Everything else about the park I'd beautiful and clean and lovely! It's a very nice park full of well kept/maintained sports areas for everyone!

Yelp
Easy to get to via the Light Rail or UBER/LYFT...Early Morning/Afternoon is best for Adults and Senior Citizens to power walk and talk.... BLP has JCPD security in plain sight to oversee the gangs of young loud trouble making teenagers who tend to come in late afternoon and evening. Park needs some shade trees , water stations, picnic benches and restrooms.... Parking is non-existent.

Yelp
The park is dope, big enough for everyone to get in the work that they'd like to do. And the comradery is at an all time high here.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews. I watched it being built via the westside avenue light rail. I don't know why it took me so long to visit. It's in a "supposedly" bad area. I am white. I've been twice as of today and I have never felt unsafe. People are friendly, kids say hello, grown ups say hello, it's clean, there is no graffiti, it's clean. Yes I said that twice. I live on Mallory near Claremont and my neighborhood is filthy. People throw whatever they want on the ground everywhere, clothes, food, trash, empty drug accessories. I have to watch my dog like a hawk. 95% of the dog owners in my area irresponsible; not picking up dog waste and also having aggressive dogs. Berry Lane Park is so so nice. Me and my dog do laps around the football field. Sit on benches, go to the dog run... it's a great place. Last time I was there there were 2 food trucks the whole time. there is a baseball field, football/soccer field, 2 tennis courts, splash pad, outdoor gym, huge playground, skatepark, lots and lots of places to sit, and it looks like they are adding more. I have to take an uber there and back, but it's totally worth it and my dog deserves it. It's not as shaded as Lincoln Park, but that one gives me the heebie jeebies. NO THANKS. Do yourself a favor and check it out on a nice afternoon or don't, leaves more room for me! :)

Yelp
Between the downtown yuppie JC area and the westside university city area is the bergen-lafayette area known as the JC ghetto. In this ghetto area, there are many crimes being committed by unemployed angry people. In this ghetto area, it is affordable to move in but you may get yo ass kicked. In this ghetto area, the JC transplants have begun to move in. This hella-new park is like the beacon calling to the newly moved-in yuppies, like the Bat signal is to Batman. The yuppies are taking over the ghetto. Watch the real estate prices soar.

Yelp
It's 90 degrees sprinkler system does not work it's way too hot to get on the play ground equipment this is the second park came to today in New Jersey where the sprinkler don't work

Yelp
Been almost a week already that the weather has been scorching hot and they have yet to turn on the sprinkles, it's rediculous , not only that but when you try to contact parks services it's impossible to reach anyone, and when someone does pick up it's some rude snobby Jersey City assholes who don't give a sh1t. Smh this is dangerous for any kids playing in the heat.
