Great selection of fruits, freshly caught seafood, bread and pastry and especially Asian vegetables. There is even music for this small market

We love this market! It's small but serves the local community well. The regular vendors have delicious produce and bakery items, and rotating vendors have incredible fresh meats, coffees, and more! There's also always live music

Stopped by to do a quick checking out of it. I got here around 11:20am. Most of the stalls were seeking fruits and veggie. One stall was selling fishes. There was no stall selling food other than popcorn and chips&hummus. It’s a cute little farmer’s market to get fresh fruits and veggie.

Only open on Saturdays from May through November, this was moved to Piedmont Middle School a few years ago from a district office up the street. The result is dramatic. The newer location is less cramped, and the parking issues are completely gone. It's easy to get in and out, which means I end up going more. The variety is a little repetitive and limited when it comes to the fruit and vegetable vendors, but there's multiple bakeries, a honey stand, a flower/plant stand, and usually a fishmonger and a popcorn/kettle corn stand. There's plenty of space for more vendors, which does make it feel a bit sparse. To sum up? it's a simpler market but I find it more accessible, and more chill than say, the Sunday farmer's market at the Great Mall.

Cauliflower of color! Linda found the price for saluyot to be better than that at Alum Rock.

Google
It's not a big place but a little bit cute farmer's market. They open every Saturday morning so nice place to stop by on my way back home after hiking at Alum Rock Park. I like this place a lot not just because their vegetable or foods are so fresh and good priced but also because I feel like myself is refreshed too and feel some good energy from the market and people at there. Unlike city look in a sense but very beautiful part of city. =D

A wonderful day of shopping for Fresh veggies & oranges. Open Saturday 9-1 and has honey, almonds, stuffed potatoes, 🌽 cob, kettle corn, humus, and Fresh Fish. Wow, AND EBT DOLLAR MATCH SOON TO BE $10 FOR FIRST $10 BOUGHT possibly March 2018. Try it out.

Yelp
This farmer's market has lots of vegetables and herbs which I usually don't see at other farmer's markets like Thai basil, Vietnamese perilla, peppermint, Vietnamese balm, Chinese chives and Vietnamese lettuce. Located at a middle school parking lot. Lots of parking available. It's a smaller market so you can make this a quick trip. There was a musician playing as part of entertainment. Information booth people are friendly.

Yelp
Very small but has a little bit of everything. ie 3 or 4 vegetable stands. 2 fruit stands. 1 bread/bakery place and a couple of food places. Cute little weekend spot if you are looking for something fresh and want to support local.

Yelp
The new location is much better than the previous location, across from Piedmont High school. Now at their new location, next to Piedmont Middle School, they have a parking lot. It's not as congested and no need to drive in circles waiting for other customers to leave to park. There were a lot of stone fruits and melons available today. A variety of vegetables as well. I went to the market to get honey and luckily they had a vendor, Alex's Family. I got the wildflower and orange blossom honey, $34 total. The vendor accepted cash and card. On my way out, I saw a vendor with huge chocolate chip cookies. I couldn't pass it up and got a chocolate chip cookie, chocolate chip cookie with walnuts and oats and a double chocolate chip cookie. The onion bialys looked tasty as well and got that. The vendor is Little Sky Bakery and total came out to $25. The cookies are humongous and taste homemade. It's so much better than Crumbl, Choc Cookies, and Insomnia. Little Sky's cookies weren't too sweet, packed with walnuts and chocolate chips that were spread out evenly. The cookies were chewy with a crisp exterior. I microwaved for 15 second and they came out ooey and gooey. The cookies were also baked properly. There was also a French bakery vendor and they had quiche and more savory items.

Yelp
Nice small farmers market with really fresh produce and even a fish stand smelling deliciously fresh from the sea! I liked to go there to get Asian veggies and the seasonal fruit. I don't stay more than half an hour and has always been on my way to somewhere else.

Yelp
A nice, quaint farmers' market. It has just enough to get you to come but not enough for you to make a trip out of it. There are probably 20~ booths. There's a dude playing cover songs to Satana, a booth that sells bomb bread, and possibly the freshest fish and shellfish I've come across in my life as a fisherman. Nothing at that booth smelled fishy which indicates freshness and a lack of bacteria growth. There's a Latino couple that runs a booth and I didn't know it was cash only the dude offered to let me pay him the following week they were there. I couldn't take his offer since there's a 7-11 across the street where you can get up to 20$ cash back. This place probably has the best daikon radishes I've seen thus far as well.

Yelp
Lovely little farmer's market, i got a small bottle of cherry blossom honey, a variety of mushrooms, and some peaches here for about $11. Its a great spot!!! They have some good prices and everyone there is really sweet. Definitely going to start coming more often. They have a lot you can park in, its free. Definitely recommend coming here!!

Yelp
Open on Saturdays on the front lot of Berryessa School District. They have a few stalls that sell fish, veggies, fruits, and honeys and hummus. I would come here for the fruits as they provide samples so you know what you're buying. They dont have flowers or plants for sale which is a bummer on my part. Hummus Heaven sells their products here and samples are provided when you approach their stall. The hubs love their offerings and if he can eat eggplant he would have eaten the baba ghanouj. Parking can be tight so people park by the street or at the post office which is across the street.

Yelp
Berryessa Farmers Market small by comparison to others. 10-20 vendors in all, 5 of them food related. time: saturdays, 9-1, year roung food vendeors: hummus, seafood, honey, tamales, kettle corn foodnotes: -mostly veggies sold today, asian and traditional ones, not a lot of fruit -didn't notice any signs denoting organic offerings -small parking lot next to farmers market, street parking also available. -doubtful repeat. 3.5 stars

Yelp
This cute and crowded farmers market is worth your cash if you're looking for some fresh fruit and veggies. Compared to other farmers markets, this one here is a bit on the smaller side. There is a decent sized parking lot where you can park but do beware that the lot can fill up quick. But don't be disheartened, people are coming in and coming out at a fast rate so you'll be able to find parking in no time. Bring your own bags! If you're planning on buying a lot and in bulk you'll want to bring a tote bag or plastic bag of some sort. It'll get tiresome to carry everything in your hands. Most of the stands have set prices that don't include the annoying extra cents. Most go either by 50 cents or by the dollar. However, there are a few stands that will still ask for every penny so bring some change as well. Make sure to have CASH since most stands do NOT take card. Although the market opens pretty early on, you should try to come more towards 12. This is about an hour before they close and you will find that the stands will give an additional sale price in order to sell all their goods. Make sure you have a good pair of eyes because some of the fruits and veggies aren't in the best shape. My absolute favorite is the peach stand. At 12 they were going 1 lb for $5. They have different kinds of peaches cut up for you to try. I loved their cling peaches, white peaches and plums! Couldn't resist on buying a batch. However, although the sale is great, coming a bit late also means that most of the produce that is high in quality is already gone. There are all sorts of veggies. Most of the veggies I don't even know the name to because they are the foreign Asian ones that end up on my plate so I just gobble them down without really asking. There are also peanuts and a variety of other things you can buy. Usually there is someone who is playing music to brighten your day. Overall - for the fresh fruits and vegetables around Berryessa, this is the place to go.

Yelp
OK so I've decided to give the Farmer's Market a well deserved 5th star ^_^ because today not only there were more booths but they had live music! Music makes everything better! I got my peaches, my kettle corn, live music & the Farmer's Market got a 5th star --- today is a good day! *NInja says "get off your bum and check out your local Farmer's Market!" ^_^

Yelp
super small farmers market (~8-10 booths) near home but definitely has the essentials if you are looking for fresh, wholesome groceries. I like that not every booth had the same selections as well so even though there aren't many booths, there's a good variety. Very friendly vendors and good prices, veggies are vibrant, fresh and delicious. Had a kettle corn, hummus, fish and flower booth in addition to all the fruits and veggies. plenty of parking and easy to find.

Yelp
Small! Definitely thought it would be bigger. Not much of a variety when it came to fruit, each time one here, there are just apples and oranges to chose from On the pLus side.... we have Super friendly vendors there

Yelp
I went today and throughly enjoyed the Berryessa Farmer's Market. There is plenty of parking, but there is only one entrance, which also happens to be the exit so there is sometimes a lil back-up there. The vendors are all so nice and most will let you sneak in a few extra veggies/fruit over the weight limit for the same price. Although it is one of the smaller markets, there is still plenty to choose from. I got plenty of fresh fruit, veggies and HUMMUS (the habanero one is so spicy and nommy). I will definitely come back :)

Yelp
I love coming here during the spring and summer seasons for fresh, sweet, yummy fruits! I always find the strawberries here much sweeter than the ones you can find at the local supermarkets. In addition to a great selection of fruits and vegetables, you can find bread, fish, hummus, tamales, flowers, and other house plants. The flower selection is amazingly awesome. It's also a plus that flowers are both cheap and super fresh! Don't forget to pick up a bag of kettle corn before you leave!

Yelp
Nice farmers market with A LOT of vegetables selection. They have a lot of asian vegetables and herbs like bitter melon, wing beans, okra, some other green leaves that my mom loves putting in her soup (a lot of these are very good for your skin apparently). They also have a wide variety of fruits such as apples of different kinds, various types of peaches, grapes, etc. The fish selection is also pretty good. They even have kettle corn! A must visit for the weekend to stock up on your fresh vegetables for the week!

Yelp
Fresh Produce ...Great Prices. When compared to chain markets Few organic stalls but lots of seasonal choices Somedays...u can get Fresh Fish too Kettle corn, corn the cob, mexican food stall, local honey, pitas If u r lucky..live music during summers

Yelp
Open every Saturday morning rain or shine. It is not the largest or fanciest farmer's market around, but as a local weekly Farmer's Market to get some veggies or fruit, it will do. Definitely seasonal fruits and veggies are seen year round. I think this place caters more to the Asian palate, as they have lots of Chinese veggies such as bitter melon, bok choy, pepper leaves, etc... There's a handful of vendors that sells fruits and vegetables. You can find a hummus stand, a fish stand, a mushroom stand, a honey stand and a flower stand. Every so often there you might see kettle corn, a Laos hot food spot or a Mexican hot food stand. Parking is a little tricky, but most times people are coming in or out, so there's often a spot. I would suggest coming early to get the best selection. Don't forget to bring your recyclable bags!

Yelp
Fabulous little farmer's market. It's a little tight with the crowd but nice variety of fruits and veggies. The real treasure here is the delightful Woo Garden - jam confiture. It's a must stop and see with Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar, Pineapple Orange Juice Grand Marnier, Kiwi Honey, & Blueberry Creme de Casse. I'll be back to this market for more.

Yelp
Filipino mothers often ask me..... " What part of the Philippines is your family from? " Me: " We're from the Northern Region of the Philippines - Ilocos Sur to be exact! " Them: " WOW! Do you eat Pinakbet? " Me: " Yes, I do.. l eat lots of it. As a matter of fact... I can cook it myself! " Them: " You know I have a girl I would like to introduce you to.... She's single and really nice! She's from the Philippines! " Me: ... My parents have been growing Asian and Filipino vegetables for nearly 35 years. Each summer and late fall, their backyard is filled with organic and rich produce that can put Ranch 99 and Seafood City to shame. I love home cooked meals especially when it is from our own backyard. During the winter and early spring season, we had to resort to the Asian or Filipino markets to get our produce. The market selection isn't as grand nor appealing. Sometimes they overprice their vegetables and often find ourselves with the bottom of box selections (the beat up ones). To overcome the market disappointments, we've visited the Berryessa Famers market for years. Since we live in a predominantly Asian and Filipino community, the vegetables are vast with competitive prices. Most of the vegetables are from local growers and meet our strict standards. I've learned to get here early for the fresh selection and come back later for bargaining the leftovers. I recently had a chance to visit the Berryessa Farmers market. Yes, I was making Pinaket* for a date night and again left happy with my fresh selection. See pictures (sorry the pictures are slanted...Yelp has problems loading pictures correctly). If you get chance to shop here, keep in mind to arrive early at 8:30am and bring your reusable bags. The farmers market isn't as big as the other cities. Again, this is a local market with a good number of sellers. They accept cash only and parking is plentiful because its located in the Berryessa Union School District center parking lot. One of my other favorite vendors: Gold Rush Kettle Corn. Awesome and delicious healthy popcorn snack - Perfect to sneak into the movie theaters! Website: http://www.pcfma.com/market_home.php?market_id=20 *What is Pinakbet? (From Wikepedia): Pinakbet or pakbet is a popular Ilocano dish, from the northern regions of the Philippines. The basic vegetables used in this dish include native bitter melon, eggplant, tomato, ginger, okra, string beans, lima beans, chili peppers , parda and winged beans. A Tagalog version usually includes calabaza. Most of these vegetables are easily accessible, and are grown in backyards and gardens of most Ilocano households. As its name suggests, it is usually cooked until almost dry and shriveled and the flavors of the vegetables are emphasized and accentuated by bagoong (shrimp paste). It is considered a very healthy dish, and convenient in relation to the harsh and rugged, yet fruitful Northern and Ilocos regions of the Philippines.

Yelp
Wow a farmer's market close to my place! Great way to wake up on a saturday morning to stroll through produce that's not found in the Safeway veggie section. It's nice to see these people keeping the farmer's market spirit. There's kettle corn, veggies, strawberries, fish, flowers and music. One thing which would be a good addition is a bakery booth filled with breads n cookies.

Yelp
I go to this Famers Market every Saturday. It's a lot smaller than the usual 'Farmer's Market' I would rather go to the one at James Lick High School at Alum Rock but since they do it Sunday mornings not Saturday, I just go to the Piedmont one instead. Don't really have a lot to say about it, fresh fruits & veggies for a cheap price! It's a nice place to go to, especially when you are doing a catering or planning on cooking for a big party. It'll definitely save you a lot of money.... I also want to do a review on 3 small "fast food joint" that are right infront of the Farmer's Market - Piedmont.... I don't think they have a store name but you'll for sure see it since they are the only 3 that sells cooked food. First review is on the Tamales Cart, I've tried their Cheese Tamales, Pork Tamales, Chicken Tamales, & Beef Tamales... they weren't kidding when they said that they have the best Tamales in the Bay Area. It's only $2 a piece! The lady that usually sells there is a friendly Pre-School teacher... She is really nice! She even hooks it up with the samples! (and her samples aren't small at all, practically half of the tamales!) She also lets you put your own sauce, so you can put as much hot sauce, sour cream, or other toppings you want. I've also tried the Polish Sausage for $3, It was alright, nothing too special. I can't help but buy atleast one everytime I go to Farmer's Market... Yummy food and great service!! Second review is on the 'Filipino Food' cart is in between the Tamales cart & Kettle Corn cart. They sell a combo meals for $5 that consist either; Pancit, Adobo Chicken, & Lumpia or Fried Chicken, Pancit, & Lumpia and they also sell Lumpias and Shanghais by itself. 1 piece of Lumpia is $.75 and 5 pieces of Shanghai is $1. Today, my friend and I was feeling a bit hungry so we decided to order & share the "Pancit, Adobo, & Lumpia" combo meal & order a $1 worth of Shanghai. The shanghai was alright, I guess you get what you pay for. $1 for 5 small pieces... but they forgot to give us sauce. Although their Shanghais was alright, I can't say the same about their combo meal. I'm not a very picky person but I don't think the food we got was worth $5. First of all, the Pancit didn't have a lot of veggies, meat, or anything.... just a bunch of vermacelli noodles and the taste was so bland. Lumpia was so small and overcooked so the wrapper had a bitter taste, and the Adobo was just one piece of chicken that was super duper salty (lol, I'm not exaggarating on how salty it was, it really was salty) Oh and to make things worse, the rice was a bit wet, lol. Horrible! That's my last time buying combo meals from them again! But I'll be back for their Shanghais just because they're not all that bad. Last review is on the 'Kettle Corn' cart... I'll keep it short and simple. It's worth buying from them. Big bags for such a cheap price! Their small one is $3 but it's soooooo huge!!! And they are made fresh!

Yelp
Farmer's Market every Saturday... It isn't as big as other Farmer's Markets. but they do have the best stuff i shall say... Cherries are yummy here: crisp, sweet.... Strawberries too... And! there's a stall that sells sashimi-grade Salmon for a pretty decent price. All you need is a good knife at home and some skills that you can youtube to cut your perfectly sliced sashimi. Parking could a little bit tough; but people here are mostly in and out. And what's a Farmer's Market without Kettle Pop? yay for samples!
google avatar

Maryann S.

Yelp
This farmers market is here rain or shine! Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. There aren't too many vendors since this farmers market is so small but there are enough fruits and veggies to go around. The variety here is comparable to larger farmer markets except there aren't 3-4 stands selling the exact same thing. I guess you can consider this a more condensed farmers market! There are plenty of parking spaces since the market is located in the parking lot of the Educational Service Center right across from Piedmont High. There's even a porter potty which could be convenient for people who don't live in the nearby neighborhoods.

Yelp
This is a charming little farmer's market, complete with live music, flowers, and kettle corn. They've got fresh produce, ranging from pepper leaves to white peaches to super luxe oyster mushrooms, as well as Mediterranean (hummus et al), and Lao food stalls. Many of the vendors carry the same (or very, very similar) veggies and fruits, but I don't mind... the fragrance of fresh nectarines and peaches is nothing to complain about. You can park in the lot or on the streets around the corner. It's small, but has the basics (and then some). Overall, a very nice way to spend a half hour on a Saturday morning!
google avatar

Yelp
Still plenty of peeps and TONS of booths worth of fresh produce and ethnic extras. A good place to get your fresh crunchies in Northern San Jose on a Saturday morning.

Yelp
FYI: this is a certified farmers market, and as such...TAKES EBT/ FOODSTAMPS. They take your card, call in the amount that you want taken off, then give it to you in $1 chips. The yellow chips can be spent on anything at the market besides flowers and hot meals. So it works one for one just like food stamps. And the market has a grant so that when you spend $10 or more of your food stamps at the farmers market, they'll give you $5 free to spend on fruits and vegetables. It's a great idea to incentivize healthy eating and local eating! doesn't have bolani bread. bummer. but does have the hummus guy with his pita chips and samples there's a booth that sells naan and one that sells fresh baked bread the booth that sells nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc.) is a steal. Asian and Hispanic and ALL types of produce. Not as many booths as the Alum Rock one, but the same selection seafood booth Overall, this farmers market had everything I needed. But I liek the Alum Rock one better because there's more fruit selection, more booths , more free samples, and honey.

Yelp
I go to this Farmers Market when I need some cheap veggies :) On occasion I feel like cookin' just like my mom and to make my place smell like the typical "filipino house".. Farmers market is amazingly cheap and convenient!! I love how the workers here ask if im Filipino and where my parents are from.. I guess this is the typical ice breaker :)

Yelp
I may be biased because I live 2 minutes away. But FINALLY a farmers market in our area, beats having to go to the flea market an pay for parking. Pros: Kettle corn, chili corn, peaches, variety of veggies and fruits. Cons: Can't bring my pups. I try to make it every saturday so they don't close it down like they did in Milpitas. Come and support your local farmers market!!!

Yelp
Smaller than the average outdoor market, the Berryessa farmers market offers more than expected. Ranging from the exceptionally cheap prices to the overly welcoming vendors, this North San José secret surely creates noise. Eight to ten stands make up the entire market but each stand contains different produce ensuring each customer will find what they want. Produce ranges from apples and oranges all the way to vegetables with names that are hard to pronounce. On top of that local produce some vendors served fresh fish and a variety of humus. Looking for cheap produce, then look no further. Apples sold at one dollar a pound while the broccoli sells at that same exact price. Most vendors at the market will be lenient with the weight so going over a little did not seem as a concern. The leniency shows the welcoming personality the vendors show to each customer. On top of that great produce, the location makes finding the market very easy. Located off a big street makes it easy to see the big tents off of Piedmont road. If not driving then taking public transportation is just as good. Bus stops a block away from the market and on both sides of the street make it easy to get to the market. It states on the Berryessa farmers market webpage, rain or shine, this outdoor market will open on Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm year round. Recommended to all. fyi: vendors do provide plastic bags for the produce. Share this:

Yelp
There are not very many sellers these days and that cuts down on variety and competitive pricing. The fish seller sells salmon marked "wild caught" that looks and tasted like farmed. Would not recommend him at all. If he lies about this, what else? There is also very limited parking. I wouldn't want to park across the street since Piedmont Road is wide and very busy.

Christine G.

Yelp
I love this farmers market. It's small, which makes it easy to get in and out, and the parking situation is adequate. All of the vendors are friendly.

Yelp
I usually go to the Blossom Hill Farmer's market to buy my fruits and veggies, why I do this when the Berryessa Farmer's market is so close to home I do not know. Actually it's because I never knew that we had a farmer's market in Berryessa, so when I found out (thank you yelp!) I made it a point to head over the following Saturday morning. The Berryessa Farmers market seems to be a little bit smaller than my Blossom Hill market, but they have wonderful vendors and a really great variety of fruits and veggies to choose from all at really great prices. There were also vendors selling fresh caught fish, homemade pita chips, marinated olives, and various hummus, as well as a baker with fresh baked breads. There was live music that was fun to listen to as we strolled from booth to booth. My find of the day came at the apple booth, he had a separate bin set aside with apples that could be used in pies and baking. Those apples made the most delicious apple brown betty. I think I'll be coming here from now on since it's closer to my house and there is a wide variety of produce available. It's so great to have a regular farmers market in the neighborhood.

Janet Y.

Yelp
So being I live 2 blocks away, my boyfriend and I decided we would finally walk to the farmers market with my boyfriend's dog. However, we were rudely stopped by the farmers market coordinator telling us no dogs allowed. Twice in a matter of 10 seconds to "turn around and leave." My boyfriend just had knee surgery 3 weeks ago and want to get out of the house, no need to be pretentious and turn to the hummus guy to talk about us. I can hear you. The farmers market is small but prices are good. I would never come back even though I live 2 blocks away because I can't stand rude people.

Yelp
I agree with Tong T.: We FINALLY have a Farmer's Market. Please support it to help is stay open. Every Saturday that I am available I go, because I want it to stay open. Sometimes I can't make it. I haven't been in a couple of weeks and this past Saturday (8/30/08) I was so happy to see that it was crowded and there were new (to me) vendors. One of them was East West Gourmet Afghan Food: http://www.bolaniandsauce.com/ (they gave a great website, BTW). We always buy this type of food because my husband loves it (the sauces are too spicy for me--I am wimpy). We got some bolani. We have only tried the spinach. After reading the website I am going to heat the pumpkin one up in a pan. (Sorry, back to the market:) I am only giving it three stars because it is very small. I hope that more vendors join. We have lost one of our favorites: Baba Foods. We bought hummus from him every week. The main reason we go is for my hubby. He HAS to get "Birthday-Party-In-Your-Mouth" stuffed olives. I don't even know their real name, but they are stuffed with blue cheese and in a marinade with fig paste. I just shared some with a friend yesterday and she said, "And you got these at the Berryessa Farmer's Market?" She wants me to remind her about it this Saturday. The olives are from the Sonoma Olive Company. http://www.sonomaolive.com/ (they used to have a larger page, right now it is just a "holder"). They have very good stuff. The cheesy garlic spread is to DIE for. As you can see there are more than just great fruits and veggies at our Berryessa Farmer's Market, so please come join us in support of these wonderful vendors.

Yelp
Fresh local grown produce, friendly merchants. A nice way to spend Saturday morning, if you can drag yourself out of bed.

Yelp
A small farmers market located in the 'burbs of North San Jose. It's a convenient location to walk or bike to if you live around there, and always has a good choice of fresh fruits & veggies. I love the local culture and the freshness of the goods. Come here to support your local community :)

Yelp
By visiting a local farmers' market, one can support their regional farmers while also improving their diet with a variety of healthy locally grown foods. The Berryessa Farmers' Market is open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 P.M. every Saturday year-round. Conveniently located on 1376 Piedmont Road in San Jose, the Berryessa Farmer's Market can also be easily seen from the main street and is easily accessible for those taking public transportation. Not only is it easy to get there, but there is parking both on the street and in the lot. Although small in size with only 15 stalls, the Berryessa Farmers' market makes up for this disadvantage with their extensive variety of products and affordable prices. Vendors offer organic goods and some are awaiting to have their products organically certified. Because of its smaller size, the Berryessa Farmers' Market is not as popular in comparison to larger farmers' markets, therefore it is less crowded. The vendors are extremely friendly and generous. The vendors attract people to their products by offering free samples before purchasing. Some of the vendors accept food stamp tokens at their booths allowing family's of low income to be able to enjoy the fresh and organic food that they have to offer. The farmers' market tends to be less busy at the end of the day and vendors are more likely to lower their prices. These deals are sure to be far more inexpensive than supermarkets. For example, a pound of grapes that sells for $2.99 at Walmart is offered for only $1.00 at the Berryessa Farmers' Market. Competition among vendors is common so it is advised to compare prices among booths to ensure the best deal. On the other hand, although prices are lower upon later arrival, there tends to be less variety. Typically, only the products of lower quality are the only ones left toward the last couple hours. It would be in someone's best interest to arrive in the morning at opening so more options are available and products are plentiful.

Yelp
I'm always happy whenI come here. The prices are reasonable for a farmers market, the produce has been fresh. The vendors are willing to give advice on how to determine what's ripe and method of cooking. Hummus is always good.

Yelp
I love coming here every weekend to get fresh fruits and veggies. The local honey is delicious!

Yelp
For a small market, Berryessa has the usual fruits and vegetables, and so much more! They've got fish, bread, kettle corn, flowers, hummus, and even a tamales stand! Not only are the fruits and vegetables cheap, they are organic homegrown crops. It is also quick access to some fresh catches for your seafood wonders. This market is easily accessible with a small private parking lot. Even so, there is a high school parking lot across the street for further parking. Sometimes you can even catch some live music performed at the market! I was surprised to find out that even the bread and hummus stalls were pro-health. The bread stall had many different flavors of homemade bread all made without preservatives, yet still has a shelf life of about a week. They've also got a hummus stall, bringing 17 different flavor insights into the Mediterranean foods, mixed healthily with organic ingredients, and no preservatives! These foods easily prove better tasting than those bought at supermarkets. Stop on by and have a taste, many stalls even offer samples of their products!

Yelp
Benito has NOT been to this farmers market obviously... ITS NOT AROUND ON SUNDAYS.... and the parking??? my gawd they have a huge lot and street and if you need to park at PHHS across the street..... the only thing I wish they get rid of is the music --- no reason the music doesn't appeal to the majority of people that roam the market..... otherwise its okay even though the COOKIE man left because of the raised space fee.... Hopefully he will come back because they need bakery stuff besides Santa Cruz bread......

Yelp
Stopped by around 11am and it wasn't too crowded... the selection was okay. But I love to always help out the local farmers so I bought a couple of organic tomatoes, bittermelons, yellow/red onions, and nectarines. The prices are cheap and BYOB! Bring your own bag, help out the environment (and try to walk there if you can)! :) Definitely will stop by here again.

Yelp
It's a super tiny farmers market but it has plenty of partying! I was going give it a 3 stars but you know it's not one of one those pretentious markets. Fresh veggies and strawberries are organic!

Yelp
We're huge farmer markets fans. San Jose downtown, Santana Row, Santa Clara, Campbel, Saratoga, Japantown..... you name it, we're there. I love helping to sustain local farmers and just love the atmosphere. When I heard there's one in Berryessa I thought I would go and give my support. The selections are quite good and the prices are really reasonable BUT if you're looking to find organic produce, this is not the place. Of all the stalls I asked, only one is certified organic, and another while not organic they don't use pesticide. So if you're looking for an alternative to Safeways or other mass markets, then this market is great but just don't expect to find as many organic stuff like you would at Saratoga etc.

Yelp
Be careful of the strawberry vendor. He put the big strawberries on top to look good while under them are small and raw strawberries. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. This strawberry vendor will never get another penny from me.

Yelp
Small compared to many other Bay Area farmer's markets, but has everything most market goer's want. I love walking here with my own bag, picking fresh produce and baked goods and taking them home to enjoy Pros: ~ Produce, Bread, Nuts, Fish, Music (lady on the harp this weekend), popcorn and flowers this market has what you need ~ Organic is available! ~ For the most part the farmers, bakeries, artisans and fishermen there are friendly, chatty and willing to make a deal ~ Lots of parking in the lot and on the street ~ Easy to walk and browse everything in a quick and efficient manner. ~ Each stand has a banner stating their business and location which I do not see at every farmer's market. Cons: ~ Small number of stands so the specialty item you may be able to find at a larger farmer's market with more vendors may not be found

Yelp
Many people reviewed this farmers market as having very reasonable pricing, but no organic farmers....NOT TRUE! There were 2 there and one I usually go to at the Evergreen Village Sq. was there, but the other one was a cheaper organic farmer! I was so stoked, especially since I'll be juicing for a while. If there's a market for it, I'd love to see a cheese person and an egg person too! That's my only gripe, other than that, I love farmers markets.
