A married couple, longtime friends of mine, came from Argentina to visit Berlin, and we wanted to celebrate the reunion with a dinner in a very special place. And Berta really exceeded all our expectations. I have been living in Berlin for 14 years, and without a doubt, it would be difficult for me to name three restaurants that come close to the level of Berta.
Accessibility by car or public transportation to the central Stresemannstr. is very easy and fast.
Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by the friendliness of the hostess. The restaurant always seems to be full, but reservations work wonderfully, and at each table, you have your little privacy without any overcrowding.
The careful and warm decoration and lighting anticipate the style of a friendly cultural and human encounter that the restaurant seeks to convey.
Our waitress was the charming Dani, who made sure we felt comfortable all the time and was always willing to explain the details of each dish. The cuisine is simply spectacular, a careful preparation of fresh, top-quality products with lots of flavor and color. For the first course, we ordered the polenta (who would have believed that a polenta could offer so much!). For the main course, we ordered a risotto that is surely among the best in my life, and the same can be said of the variations of meats and fish.
The desserts are true celebrations of flavor (I recommend the chocolate mousse).
If you relate all this to the price, the result is amazing. Without a doubt, we will keep recommending it and I’ll return to celebrate further important events.
