Berta

"Berta would be very proud of her grandson, chef Assaf Granit, who has named this appealing restaurant after her. The energy of the chefs in the open kitchen, nestled behind the counter, is infectious, as they fill the colourful dining space with a vibrant and convivial atmosphere. A lively scenario, for which the menu is a perfect match: it is a veritable celebration of family recipes from Jerusalem infused with the modern spirit of Berlin. The "Frenavon" bread with tahini and tomatoes served beforehand is downright addictive. It is practically impossible to resist the charm of this restaurant!" - Michelin Inspector

10/10 for this gem! We have been served by Emilia and it’s was great. We felt that she has just so much passion for what she is doing! She gives the best client experience. It was a pleasure to be in this restaurant from the very first moment. Food delicious, atmosphere lively and engaging, service exceptional. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

It was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a table here on March 8th for a festive dinner. We weren’t offered any seating options or alternatives—no suggestion to come later or sit at the bar. The man at the entrance didn’t seem happy to see us for some reason. However, we came back on the 9th, this time booking a table in advance. The atmosphere is beautiful—I love this kind of intimate setting with candles and lots of small details. The service was excellent; the waiters explained the restaurant’s concept and helped us choose the best dishes and wine. We had an octopus appetizer, and they also gifted us a salad. For the main course, we ordered chicken and risotto—everything was incredibly delicious. The seasoning, flavor combinations, and textures were just amazing. The wine was also excellent, and for dessert, we chose the chocolate mousse. The mix of sweet, rich mousse with slightly salty, brownie-like crumbles was simply wow! Highly recommend!

An amazing experience at Bertha! The food was incredibly delicious, every dish bursting with rich and refreshing flavors. The service was outstanding – Mai and Costa were friendly, professional, and always with a smile. Any question or request was met with warmth, making the evening unforgettable. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Berlin!

Berta guarantees an outstanding experience. The restaurant exudes a family-like atmosphere that perfectly blends with professionalism, creating an excellent mix. The dishes served were fantastic and reminded me of my trip to Israel. They were creatively crafted, aesthetically presented, and generously sized. Not every dish was perfect, but each one offered a unique experience for the palate. I recommend trying several dishes to fully appreciate the chefs' capabilities. The service is another incredibly positive aspect. Despite the busy atmosphere, I felt completely taken care of, including complimentary dishes we received to further explore the menu while waiting. As we were the last customers, we ended up closing the restaurant much later than the official hours. No one minded, and on top of that, at our request, we were served espresso even though the kitchen and bar were already closed. I was also impressed by the decor. Traditional and family elements were brilliantly combined with modern, raw concrete and large glass windows. The open kitchen was adorned with traditional dishes, adding to the atmosphere—very charming! During my next visit to Berlin, I will definitely come back!

A real treat. We had a Sunday brunch here. A very interesting and pleasant design with very well thought through acoustics - didn't feel noisy at all even with many people and music. A very friendly service with a nice treat of hot wine. The dishes were all very high quality and delicious. The cocktails were amazing. It was child friendly too. Really curious to come back for dinner.

Excellent food, great wines and fancy drinks. But what sets it apart is the service: this team reads your thoughts and defines hospitality. Recommend a seat at the bar for direct interaction with the crew. They enjoy their work and you can taste it!

My best experience ever. It was an amazing choice to be seated by the kitchen. Sous chef offered us completely stress free dinner experience by her selecting all of our food. All chefs gave us informative intro to each dish. Food was just next level - very balanced tastes, amazing appearance. I am very excited to get back and looking forward to book this restaurant for my next trip to Berlin. This restaurant made our day and trip way better. Thank you!! 1000% recommended

A married couple, longtime friends of mine, came from Argentina to visit Berlin, and we wanted to celebrate the reunion with a dinner in a very special place. And Berta really exceeded all our expectations. I have been living in Berlin for 14 years, and without a doubt, it would be difficult for me to name three restaurants that come close to the level of Berta. Accessibility by car or public transportation to the central Stresemannstr. is very easy and fast. Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by the friendliness of the hostess. The restaurant always seems to be full, but reservations work wonderfully, and at each table, you have your little privacy without any overcrowding. The careful and warm decoration and lighting anticipate the style of a friendly cultural and human encounter that the restaurant seeks to convey. Our waitress was the charming Dani, who made sure we felt comfortable all the time and was always willing to explain the details of each dish. The cuisine is simply spectacular, a careful preparation of fresh, top-quality products with lots of flavor and color. For the first course, we ordered the polenta (who would have believed that a polenta could offer so much!). For the main course, we ordered a risotto that is surely among the best in my life, and the same can be said of the variations of meats and fish. The desserts are true celebrations of flavor (I recommend the chocolate mousse). If you relate all this to the price, the result is amazing. Without a doubt, we will keep recommending it and I’ll return to celebrate further important events.
