My wife and I ordered two entrees that included a few items: chile relleno, enchiladas, and tamales. The chips and salsa that preceded the platters were fresh and good. The chile relleno was served in a style I never had in the past but was delicious. It came with sliced almonds and a white sauce. Other entree items were also very good, as were the rice and beans, which were cooked perfectly. The staff was hard at work, especially the busser who was running around non stop, checking on customers, clearing tables, and refilling the water feature with several buckets of water. Prices were reasonable and the portion was large. We took back leftovers.

We had an early dinner here with another couple last Sunday. The bar and dining room were almost empty when we arrived at 5:30. We chose to eat on the patio, which we had to ourselves, to enjoy the lovely day. We shared a pitcher of margaritas, our server offered to add a shot of mango flavor to my wife’s glass. The chips and salsa were excellent, thick and crunchy with a perfect level of heat to the salsa. I ordered the Patriot Plate (chicken enchiladas) with green sauce and whole beans, and I loved every bite. My wife thought the senior quesadilla plate was a bit dry,but it had plenty of chicken, and our friends were happy with their choices. Serving sizes were ample but not excessive. When we left an hour later (we’d been up since 4 AM for the balloon races) the dining room and bar were packed, it looked like a couple of large groups had arrived while we ate. I picked Bertha’s based mostly on the good reviews and attractive photos on Maps (and the fact that it’s open on Sundays), and it lived up to my expectations. The decor is homey and interesting without feeling overdone. Our server was helpful and friendly. Best of all, I loved my food.

We had dinner there last night and it happened to be the restaurant’s 41 anniversary. We had such a good time. The food was great, the service was wonderful and we experienced a live mariachi band play too !! We will definitely be back next time we are in Reno.

Google
Best Mexican Food I have ever had! Their service is great too! We had a Wedding reception with 20 people at Bertha Miranda's and it was incredible! Most of the wedding party had never been to Bertha Miranda's before and they were all very impressed! I highly recommend you give this place a try! If you do, this place will be your preferred place to dine!!!

Awesome authentic Mexican with great ambiance. Home made most everything. Service is slow but worth it

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bertha Miranda’s is a Reno staple! The queso is a must, portions are generous, and the service is always friendly. Authentic Mexican food done right.

OMG we LOVE Ruth. From the first moment we walked into the restaurant, she was a bright sunshine of hospitality. We had a party of 8 and she quickly got us a table. We were there celebrating my son's 21st birthday. She got him a specialty drink and was on top of getting our order. She made us feel so welcome. After dinner she got my son another drink and also brought him some ice cream and lead all of us in singing Happy Birthday. She hugged my son on his way out and again wished him a happy birthday. Ruth is an absolute gem and I hope we see her again the next time we dine there.

Google
This is the best authentic Mexican I have ever had! They have chips salsa and waters waiting for you at the table before you even sit down. Now that’s service! I got the flautas (2 chicken and 2 beef) and they were the best ever- they were so good we came back for a second night in a row (our last night on our vacation in Reno) and I got the SAME MEAL- yes it’s that good! The Mojito was also they best - mint muddled perfectly throughout and so FRESH! Don’t miss this hidden gem right across from the national automobile museum which is also worth a visit!

Angela R.

Yelp
Ruth was awesome. Very friendly and attentive. Everything was delicious and tasted homemade. The outdoor patio was adorable.

Yelp
What can I say I love this place. The food, service and drinks are great!! I love that the make their own sopas. Yummy, refried beans with carne, lots of onions and cilantro. It was delicious. DH had cheese enchiladas which are always delicious!! I had that with a skinny margarita, which was also great! Anejo tequila with lime juice and soda water - muy fuerte! The service was so great. They made sure we had plenty of chips and salsa. Our water glasses were always full. Watch out tho... the spicy salsa - muy fuerte!! I like the green salsa tho it is very mild but has a great flavor! It's a fun place for us to stop whenever we're in the area!!

Yelp
Since coming to Nevada from a small farming town in northern California, my wife and I have missed the really, really good Mexican food from back home. We've been in Nevada since 21, and VERY few places stack up to be as nummy, comforting, and flavorful. And we have TRIED. We know if like, two, MAYBE three places. Now make that four.... because this place is a MUST TRY. Was the meal perfect? No.....but that's the charm! Let me explain. Home cooked food is hard to replicate perfectly every time. You want it to taste good, fill you up, and have nice texture. Maybe it's not perfect, like it looks slightly different or maybe the shapes are weird or it's unfamiliar....but if it's good, it good! That's this place. I was invited here for a meeting and got two carne asada tacos for lunch....and immediately knew something was different about this place. I had to come back, asap. Which I did, with my wife the next night. I ordered carnitas....which, from my home town, is tender seasoned shredded pork, usually fried a little crispy before serving. The carnitas here? Pork steak. And here's the kicker....I didn't care. It's not what I imagined, and it didn't matter...it was salted, tender, and satisfying. The fat was rendered. And the REFRIED BEANS, MY LORT, were just like our friends used to make. The rice as well, fluffy and delicious. The tortillas and everything it was served with? Amazing.... because I could tell someone made this with their hands. This isn't Sysco or US foods. This is what they themselves create, and it absolutely needs to be tried. My wife got flautas, and we got a chili relleno to split....and oh my LOORRRRTTT I wanted like five of those chilies! The sauce, amazing. The texture, perfect. The batter, fluffy and delicious. The cheese, gooey. The flautas? All differently shaped and all AMAZING. crispy edges, soft tortilla on the interior, with amazing filling. The salsas, fantastic. If you like spicy ask for the spicy chunky verde salsa, it'll smack you around a bit but it's delicious! And the service? Bro. DUDE. They actually acted happy to see us. Super friendly. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, as well, which made is feel great, like wow, I wanna be a regular customer for these peeps, they're awesome! The restaurant is homey, fun decor, really cool looking older brick and rock walls. IF I had to pick anything that could be perceived as negative, I'd say the parking lot is small, and I wish the pork steak had more flavor, more seasoning... But it was in no way bad! That's just my pallet. Bottom line, I cannot, CANNOT wait to go back and see what else they have in store.

Yelp
First time experience at this establishment. I met a friend for lunch which we both turned into "brunch". Like most Mexican restaurants, chips and salsa were brought out immediately along with water. The chips were apparently not made in house, they were rather dry and under salted for my palate. I ordered Bertha's Favorite Breakfast which is pasted verbatim from the menu: Enchiladas Montadas | (2) Eggs, over easy or scrambled on top of (2) open face green or red enchiladas, your choice hot or mild. What a splendid sauce. The taste in this dish is simply great old school Mexican flavor. The rice was perfect, the beans very tender and not mushy. The decor was like stepping back in time 100 years to an earlier era in Reno. This place just has a comfy feel to it. It appeared that there maybe patio dining as a possibility. The food and the attentiveness of the wait staff definitely warrants another visit to check out the patio possibility.

Yelp
Located 5-10 minutes walking from downtown, this Reno staple has an inviting atmosphere, prompt service, and great food! The interior of restaurant is covered in plants, while the outside patio lets you enjoy the breeze. Tonight's dinner, was possibly one of the best wet burritos I've had! They cook the carne asada to have tons of crispy bite! If you like guava, try the guava marg. It's not too sweet and compliments the food. They have 2 salsas, which I feel are better mixed. The mild is tomato based and has a slight kick. The spicy salsa is straight diced peppers! If you like spicy and the taste of peppers, that's definitely for you.

Yelp
Always great food and a nice experience whenever we come here. We came on a busy Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. I ordered the albondigas soup, a very comforting meal. It was delicious with meatballs and veggies--carrots, cabbage, chayote, onions, and a side of rice which I mixed in. Wonderful. My hubby ordered his favorite---the veggie enchiladas with rice and whole beans plate. He loved it too. So glad to see Gio and Robert, the owners working hard and being so nice to their guests. Their restaurant was filled with many diners, and for us it's so great to support a local business. Our server Ruth was attentive and so nice too! Love the feeling of being welcomed every time we come. We'll be back over and over again. Definitely our most favorite Mexican food in Reno!

Yelp
This is a weekly stop for me. Great appetizers. Their wait staff and bartenders are top notch. Friendly and welcoming. They know how to make you feel like family. It is busy but still an awesome environment. Its a great place to relax and unwind. Great food and drinks. The menu has something for everyone.

Yelp
Came with a large group of people and we were seated by the wall. I love the decor. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the tacos, but there were other things I wanted to try as well. I'll have to return next time I'm in Reno.

Chris S.

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant! They have a good selection of affordable, tasty lunch specials during the week. When server Ruth is there, we are in heaven. She is kind and attentive and my 2 year old grandson absolutely loves her.

Yelp
My wife was in the mood for some, and I quote, "saucy, messy enchiladas". We decided to come to Bertha's when we realized neither of us had been in many years and it is nice and close to the house. I started with a Michelada that was very good and just the way I like it. My wife enjoyed her Margarita, too. I had Bertha's Favorite for my entrée. It is rare to find En Nogada Chili Relleno around here and that was a true treat. It was delicious and I look forward to having it again soon now that I know where I can find it. My wife had the Patriot Plate which had exactly what she asked for, saucy enchiladas so you know that she was very happy. Everyone who waited on us was very quick to help. Our waters and chips never ran empty. This lovely restaurant always makes you comfortable and welcome.

Yelp
The ambiance was cozy and cute, and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful; they even made me shrimp tacos, which wasn't on the menu, and they were fantastic. Two tacos were just enough for a light dinner. I also tried their house margarita, and it was delicious!

Yelp
Try the Chicken Tacos, They Are the Best!! I visit Bertha Miranda's for my favorite crunchy chicken tacos at least once a week! In addition to the delicious food, the staff are wonderful! They make you feel like you are a part of their family.

Yelp
the ingredients were fresh, most everything is made in house. The food was amazing. The service was excellent and the staff recommendations were right on. Lunch or dinner inside or on the patio, clean environment, music, and very family friendly.
google avatar

Melina M.

Yelp
Every time we go in, everyone is so friendly food is always delicious. I'm a sucker for enchiladas. We have gone the last month with a huge party and just the two of us and we enjoyed both times.

Yelp
Service was friendly and food was great. I recommend if you're looking for a family dinner.

Yelp
Incredible food, owners who really care, great bar, super ambiance (rare in Reno to be honest), and HOMEMADE For tortillas that are to DIE for.

Yelp
I grew up loving this restaurant! Still as good as I can remember back! I get the same thing every time - the Patriot Plate. Highly recommend. The staff is amazing l, and on top of it with our chips and salsa!

Yelp
My family and friends had a great experience. Perking is a little tight, but we made it work parking across the street. I absolutely love their shredded beef chimichanga. The flavors are fantastic and the meat is tender. The chips this time around were a little disappointing they were not as fresh as I have experienced before. The staff was very friendly and the wait time was very little even though they were busy. The server was very helpful in assisting our party with ordering decisions.

Yelp
Went for a friends birthday. Pretty accommodating to the large group. Very traditional Mexican food with a bunch of good choices. I stuck to the usual; asada taco, relleno and an enchilada. All very tasty. Four stars as one of our group really didn't get what she wanted at all. Wrong drinks, wrong order, etc. They ended up comping her meal so on I guess. One of Reno's oldest restaurants and definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I came because it was highly recommended by a friend as the best Mexican restaurant in town. The reviews are excellent. There were several great reviews for Chili Rellanos and that's my favorite. What could go wrong? I must say the atmosphere here IS LOVELY. I have not been in a more beautifully appointed Mexican restaurant in the Reno area. I love writing 5 star reviews but I just cannot today. The food was just ok and we both found the portions to be tiny which makes the price very expensive...at least to me. The service was fine and atmosphere WONDERFUL so my review reflects only the food WE ordered today. My friend ordered the tostada or taco salad in the fried flour tortilla. The combo is called THE HAT and comes with rice and beans. Usually this is huge at other restaurants and she takes half home so she ordered it a la carte. Usually the flour tortilla is tender and crispy. This portion was very TINY and I watched her try to cut the bottom with her knife when she couldn't get it to break apart as it usually does. She said it was like rubber. She was hugely disappointed. I ordered the a la carte Chicken Chile Relleno with white sauce and almonds. I'm actually a very small eater BUT this was SO TINY that I ended up also ordering a regular Chile Relleno to FINALLY fill me up after eating a lot of chips. This chicken relleno has rave reviews and it WAS very tasty but it was made in a very tiny...maybe 4" long x 2" wide poblano chile so there was only a tiny amount of chicken in it. This chile is NOT coated in batter...just topped with the (yes delicious) white sauce and a few slivered almonds but no cheese at all. It was very very tasty and I think 3 more of them might have filled me up along with all the chips I ate. But I would not call it a chile relleno in the traditional sense that we are all used to. And if you look at the other reviews with a pic of the combo plate you will see how tiny it really is compared to the portion of rice and beans which are all already being served on a smaller plate. So I do not think the small size of mine today was an anomaly. The 2nd regular cheese relleno I ordered was traditionally battered with a plain red sauce and covered in melted cheese. Again it was much larger than the chicken relleno BUT still small by comparison to other restaurants where one a la carte relleno fills me up. I was very disappointed in the batter. It was thin and yet the bottom batter was actually tough. The red sauce is plain with no chopped veggies etc...that I'm used to. The flavor overall was rather bland. Not a taste sensation. I realize they have a lot of menu items that I have not tried so hopefully you are not the chile relleno and taco salad people that we are...you might love what you order. There are many great reviews so there must be lots of good food here...Just be prepared for smaller than usual portions and higher prices...because I noticed what others ordered and I did not see any large portions being served. If you find this review useful please VOTE!!!

Jessica P.

Yelp
Best homemade flour tortillas in town! Love their chips and salsa and most of their menu items are always a hit. It gets really busy in there, so expect a wait during dinner hours.

Yelp
Bertha's is a Reno classic, I thought it was time for a review! It has been around a decade since I have made it in here and nothing has changed. I have always loved their dining room, it feels romantic, warm and everything is bathed in light. They took really good care of us here too. I had the House Margarita and my husband had his usual, a Pacifico Michelada. Both were absolutely on point! I got two Green Chicken Enchilada's, The Patriot Plate. That was exactly what I was looking for! Flavorful, cheesy, saucy goodness served with beans, rice and guac. My husband had Bertha's Favorite, and he loved it. He loves Chili Relleno and said this one was top notch. This was an absolutely wonderful night. Great food, great drinks and of course a wonderful date night with my husband!

John W.

Yelp
Came in on Thanksgiving day. Great food, great service! Robert and Gio are doing a great job here. Very interested and personable. They just upgraded the kitchen recently. They're business is operating very smoothly and efficiently. Parking is really good, facilities are clean. I will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Shelby R.

Yelp
The establishment is large and has a very large menu. If you need somewhere to host a large party, they have a lot of large tables and a great patio for the warmer months. We went with Chip and gauc as our starter and some Margaritas. WOW! They made sure we didn't need to ask for a second serving. They packed a punch while also tasting delicious! Next I had some chicken tacos with a crispy shell and the chicken was so flavorful. I would not consider this low fat food if that is what youre looking for. Otherwise what a great dinner! Was in a total food coma after this!
google avatar

Katy C.

Yelp
Gio was phenomenal with our large group! She accommodated us flawlessly. Nothing to improve on.

Yelp
Such a nice, cozy spot with some of the best Mexican food in Reno, Robert was the best!

Yelp
If you are at the Automobile Museum and have already paid for parking on Mill street then walk across the street to Bertha Miranda's and enjoy delicious Mexican food. Even if you didn't visit the museum go to Bertha Miranda's, it is so worth it. My first visit was midday and quite a few folks were there. It is nicely decorated with artwork and plants throughout. The tabletops are art, cool. On to the food. To get a good feel for their food I tried a combination plate with an enchilada, taco, rice and beans. Rice and beans are the foundation of a good Mexican restaurant and here they are delicious. Flavorful rice that is not all clumpy and wet. Refried beans that have spices for flavor and cheese on top. The rolled beef enchilada was covered in a mild chile sauce and cheese, the soft taco with beef, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Both were worth going back for. The entire experience was fantastic. The server was helpful and friendly. Make a point to visit and if you happen to have time visit the automobile museum as well!

Yelp
Good ambience, light and airy dining area as well as a nice bar area. I opted for the #8, chicken enchilada and ground beef plate. I appreciated the complimentary house made chips and salsa as many places now have gone to charging for that. The service was great even though the room was pretty full during lunch and I only saw two waiters. I liked that tables are not all crowded on top if each other. The rice and beans were standard fare and tasted good. Likewise with the enchilada and taco. Both very good with standard amounts of filling. My only real ding was that they have no fish taco offerings even though they have grilled tilapia on the menu. I think this is a big miss and they should reconsider having a fish taco plate. Other than that I thought it was one of the most authentic places I have dined at in reno as far as food goes. I will definitely go back for some additional dishes and I really want to try the marisco menu dishes.
google avatar

Aizel N.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and our server Kimberly was so attentive, especially considering we were a table of 20+ people! I had the enchiladas with red sauce and they were absolutely delicious, but every other dish we got looked amazing and from what everyone was saying at the table, you probably couldn't go wrong with any of their food. Overall, I think this place is one of my new favorite Mexican places in Reno, and I definitely plan on coming back again.

Yelp
It's me again!!!! Another non bougie review from ME!!!! Buckle up buttercups!!! As usual, I read the one star reviews before I even walked into the place. I read them. Come on people.... This $41z is getting annoying. Band too loud? How old are you? SHUSH! Taco not crispy? Eat it first and don't leave it on your hot plate!!! Look, I'm from so cal. And We do Mexico often. I'm a Mexican food connoisseur and really critical when it comes to Mexican food. Also, I understand location location location. I also understand that not all Mexican food is alike. We're in RENO people. That being said, I had the Masterpiece #7. And I'm telling you..... it was delicious!!!! My wife had the Viva Mexico #8. She said it was delicious!!! The chips guacamole and salsa, delicious!!! Sauces were on point!!! Rice was not your abuelita's but damn good! Beans solid!!! Alllll was really really good. Even better was the service!! The menu has options for Everyone!!! I hate to see negative reviews for places that don't deserve it as a whole. Look, one thing goes wrong it doesn't mean the restaurant is a one star.... stop being BOUGIE!!!! Your non bougie reviewer Signing off!!!

Gemma C.

Yelp
Went on a date night there, food was amazing, service was great and the overall vibe was super cozy. My waiter was Kim she was very attentive and friendly. I ordered their Mole, I'm usually picky but this is some of the best mole I've ever had.

Isabel N.

Yelp
Weird. I got the vegetarian plate with a taco and enchilada. The taco and enchilada were filled with carrots. Very odd not good. Try beans and rice with lettuce, cheese and tomato next time.
google avatar

Mikiko N.

Yelp
Awesome vegan/plant-based food!! The best!! I loved tofu and asparagus enchiladas, and rice and beans are also delicious. Thank you for having those on your menu!!

Jean M.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican restaurant in Reno. It is old time Reno with friendly people and exceptional food. I had 4 out of town guests and took them there last night...all 4 said it was the best Mexican they've ever had.
google avatar

Clarence B.

Yelp
Finally went to Bertha Miranda's after living in Reno for more than five years. The plant based page on the menu is what drew me in. I got the tamale plate that also has an enchilada, rice and beans and I got a flour tortilla on the side. My partner got an à la cart, crispy taco and beans and rice. The tamale and enchilada were the standout items. Both being very good. The taco and rice were both very greasy, and the refried beans overly salted. I will try white rice and whole beans next time. The salsa options, a too mild red and a hotter, yet pretty bland green were disappointing. These need work. The flour tortilla was fluffy and large. It's a nice option. I will go back, but wasn't thrilled with the first visit. Hoping the salty beans were just a fluke.

Susan B.

Yelp
Well, another excellent review for Berthas! Absolutely love this place! Geo,Ruth,Kimberly are all just the best! Food is consistently great! Been going there for 30+ years, they aim to please! Thank you again guys and gals!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
You walk into Bertha Miranda's and it is exactly the same as it was 20 years ago. It was comforting, but also musty and in need of a good deep clean and dusting. The service was very prompt, we were immediately sat at a table and given waters, pretty quickly after our order was taken. My husband was craving a shredded beef taco and a tamale, but none of the combos had that so the waitress helped us out on how to order that. He evened up getting the taco plate and adding a tamale. She was very nice and helpful. When the food came out it was also a blast from the past. If you liked Bertha Miranda's back in the day, it is exactly the same now. We sat ate and reminisced about the times we had been there in the past. The food was good nothing over complicated, just basic, good mexicam food. Next time we get tickets to the Ace's game we'll definitely stop nlby for sure.

Yelp
Bertha Miranda's, a local Reno staple that's situated in the heart of downtown and next to the famous Automobile Museum! This establishment has been around for a number of years and has always delivered (my husband and I hosted our pre-wedding dinner here)! The restaurant itself has kept its original charm, sending you back in time to how it was when it first opened. We opted for a carne asada taco plate, served with rice and beans, and a carne asada taco with cheese enchilada. Both were delicious, full of flavor, and made to my husband and I's liking! It has been a few years since we have last went, however, like I mentioned above, they didn't disappoint. Our server was so delightful and helpful, and the rest of the staff were attentive as always. A big plus for us was the Pacifico on draft, nice and crisp! We certainly enjoyed that treat. If you're opting for a bonafide Reno Local Recommendation, this is the one you'll have to try out, especially if you're here for a quick visit!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of visiting Berthas for the first time a few days ago. We were a group of five and it was our pitstop before heading back to the Bay Area. Ruth was one of the best waitresses I have encountered, she was filled with great recommendations and friendly personality. Each of our dishes were filled with authentic flavor. The restaurant was filled with beautiful plants.
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
We were out with friends at the Bocce courts and someone suggested we go here for lunch. There were five couples, but they seated us quickly and the service was excellent! The restaurant is very nice - clean and charming. Obviously "Old Reno" which was a really fun vibe. The food was excellent and they even had a really good senior menu. Reasonable priced, clean, and really good food. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
We've been going here for years. Ever since Mama Louisa retired the food has not been the same. It has kind of a aftertaste, but the drinks the margaritas are the best in town.

Yelp
Should have come here long ago! Fun decor. Ms. Packman machine+ Kind of old and rough around edges, but the food is great and service is okay. I will surely be back for the food. What you want in a restaurant. Food focused. 3.5 Stars

Yelp
Made reservations on a Saturday night for a large group. Glad we did as the restaurant was busy! They had our table ready for us as we arrived and were seated right away. Super cute interior with lots of plants! Service from the start was wonderful! The server was very attentive and helpful! We ordered the guac to start which was pretty good and tasted fresh. U had ordered a Guava & Mango margarita which was very tasty! Others raved about the house margarita and the spicy margarita. I had ordered the Patriot Plate with cheese enchiladas, red sauce, no beans. Quite a few others had ordered the same plate with different versions of meat and some with the green sauce. I really enjoyed mine as did others! Only thing is that we wished it came with 3 enchiladas vs. only 2. One of our friends was a little disappointed that there was no version of fish tacos on the menu even though they had a pretty good seafood section. Overall we had a fun evening and Bertha's will definitely be on my list for future mexican cravings!

Yelp
Bertha Miranda's is a Reno staple for good Mexican food. I find it to be the best in the area for a dine-in Mexican restaurant. Their long presence in the community proves that I'm not alone in this assessment. I recently ordered a takeout order of a shredded beef enchilada and taco. The enchilada sauce was outstanding and the beef was cooked perfectly. The taco was fantastic. Perfect combinations of texture and flavor on both. I love that they offer some pretty hot salsa if you prefer. 10/10 I will be going back more often.

Yelp
Well just a few things! Best Mexican Restuarant in the Reno area + Best Service - Best Crew . Check out how long they have been in business delivery the best Customer experience. Dos mas coronas or margaritas - lol

Yelp
Bertha Miranda's is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the entire Reno metropolitan area. Why? Well they do things that other restaurants are to lazy to do. They make their own chips. They make their own tortillas. The meat in the fajitas is stewed, chewy, and tender. Service is extremely friendly and quick. The beans are home made, and so is the rice. The drinks are crisp and perfectly sweetened. The ambience is night and floral with interesting moose decorations. The only con is that sometimes the fabuloso or pine sol smell is over powering in certain parts of the restaurant.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town. Love the old building and parking is pretty easy, They have a full bar and large choice of tequila based cocktails, I had the house margarita and it was very good. I don't always eat the complimentary chips and salsa at restaurants but love theirs. For my meal I had the 2 taco plate, whole beans (you have choice of whole or refried) and rice. You can also specify your taco and for a small up charge get carne asada which was delicious. I also had to get a side of their flour tortillas made in house because they are so good, My husband got the combo with enchilada, taco and chile relleno. He loved everything but the real standout was the relleno. Some restaurants prepare them with a ton of breading but the chile on this one was the star of the dish along with the delicious white sauce they use. It was amazing and I'm ordering this next time I return. Even though the restaurant was full and he was very busy Wes gave us great service and their staff was all friendly and displayed good teamwork. Highly recommend,

Yelp
Nice cozy atmosphere. The food could have been much better. I find out they do not cook the enchiladas in the sauce but instead roll them and pour the sauce on top. I make much better one's at home by fixing them and baking in the sauce with cheese on top layer. But making them this way is super easy and they can even microwave them. The ground beef in the taco was not the best quality of meat and tasted grainy. The good was the dollop of sour cream and guac. Now the chips and salsa came out cold and hard. We asked if they could heat them up and all they did was drop them in the hot oil. So now they came out very greasy, just dripping in oil. Their has to be a better way to get warm chips. Salsa was good but some Pico would have been better. This place still needs improvement. For the prices they charge the food needs to be better than what a person can make at home.
