We waited about 15 minutes to order a drink then a peas. We paid $17 per drinks and they were watered down. That is just ridiculous . Just think a lemon drop already come with a lemon juice that is mixed so to also have a watered-down liquor. I felt like I was drinking Kool-Aid

Words cannot fully describe Bertha's Place. This place is definitely a spot for locals, and is open really late. When we first arrived to NOLA, we were looking for some place close to our Airbnb that was still open, and this place was packed and filled with fun vibes! Its a bar, restaurant, and dance club! Everyone was very welcoming, and it was a fantastic beginning for our short stay in NOLA. The DJ was amazing! One bop after another! We ordered Yakamein which is apparently a unique NOLA noodle dish with Chinese roots that was really homey, and was exactly what we needed that night. We also ordered fried shrimp and oysters, and those were really bomb. On top of a bunch of fries it was a great deal for the price! One of our favorite spots during our stay, and we'll be back to say hello to Bertha :)

I went there with friends and it was empty, but the place was nice. It was clean too. It's an adult crowd 30 & up. The drinks are pricey. $8 for single shot E & J Brandy.

Yelp
Not sure how to rate this place nowadays. I've come here many times at the old location many years ago. I love Bertha. She was the perfect bar owner. There's no one who can do it better than Bertha! BUT.... this last time! Too many things happened that makes me feel like there's too many unsavory characters that lurk here. Aside from the bar tender charging $36 for two drinks at the back bar(but same drinks were $22 at the front) sitting my credit card on the bar while my back was turned instead of in my hand and was subsequently STOLEN and used at another bar, aside from men constantly pushing their penis on you even after you push them off, and aside from people DOUBLE PARKING and blocking a whole block of cars preventing us from leaving, forcing us to threaten to call a tow truck, and some fool outside cooking from his nasty grill decides to ARGUE with us because HE double parked...yeah I'm unable to over look these things. Especially when I go other places I have never had to experience this multitude of foolishness. I can't return here. My city just isn't the same...or maybe I'm too grown for this now. But the DJ was good.

Yelp
Good ol southern juke joint! I had fun here. I noticed the lounge while trying to get to Bourbon St, the place was packed on a Saturday night so wanting to party w/the locals and not tourists this place looked perfect. It's 25 and older and definelty an older crowd in here, which from time to time I can appreciate an old school party. They played a variety of music genres and even took requests. All the employees were friendly and they knew we weren't from around there. We ordered drinks and left. We then came back after Bourbon street because the owner told us that they never closed! Which at 4am these people were still going strong. We ordered more drinks and then we ordered chicken to take back to the hotel w/us. I wanted fish, but it was sold out. THE FOOD HERE IS GOOD!!!! Chicken came w/fries and a salad at 4am! This place is the bomb for late night creepers like myself. We came back a 3rd visit on the next day and was treated the same like family. We engaged in convo with the bartenders & they remembered us. I'll definitely come back whenever I'm in town!

Yelp
YOU MUST BE OVER 30 TO COME TO BERTHA'S! It's a neat small bar with enough space for dancing and a very popular kitchen. I'm finally here for TAPout Tuesday! All You can drink for a few hours!!! I've been dying to come here, I think I'm gonna be coming back however I just had my first tap out drink and it is very strong!!! This is going to be fun!

Yelp
What can I say....... Bertha's Place was the highlight of our girls trip to NOLA!!!!! We loved it so much, we went 2 nights in a row. Bourbon St was not our type of crowd. Bertha's Place was recommended to us and we felt right at home. We felt like we were from NOLA. Grown and sexy environment and everyone is there to enjoy themselves. Not to mention the fish platter was outstanding!!!!

Yelp
Usually open late! Lively nitespot for the over 30 crowd, with great music. Hot, filling yakkamein for winter, tasty fried fish for warm weather, good drinks. Bertha is the best hostess!

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall for locals also known as a bar room....there is limited seating so come early if you want to sit but it is a comfortable environment Ask for a set-up it is so worth it if you're going to be drinking

Yelp
I had the best time at this place. The people are super friendly and the food was amazing. Their specials are worth checking out Sunday Monday and Tuesday I will be going back for sure.

Yelp
Tap out Tuesday! No words can explain how intoxicated we were. Can't beat $10 entry fee and unlimited drinks. We also ordered some $10 wings that was overflowing and some $12 shrimp that was soooo good! This hole in a wall is excellent!

Yelp
I met some conference attendees that mentioned visiting a bar to get a local experience so I decided to tag along. This is a hole in the wall dive bar for the locals. The bartender was borderline rude so I kept my distance. I received a couple of free drinks - apparently a local regular bought the bar a couple rounds. I was unexpectedly served a fried fish plate which consisted of a piece of fish and potato salad. The fish was right out of the fryer and was seasoned well. I later found out that the fish plate was a Monday night special that you received when you bought drinks.

Yelp
Visited NOLA for the first time and whether you're a local or tourist... this is a must visit place! Hidden gem for sure. Super friendly locals and Bertha made us feel right at home. Not to mention her son who mans the kitchen... some of the best fried chicken/fish we've had. Good ole southern hospitality and cooking, doesn't get much better than at Bertha's!

Yelp
Love this place has great music and a good vibe. Nice laid back older crowd. Good inexpensive food also a great place to hang out at and to have a party. Would rather not so many young people dancing all over the floor in appropriate and because of the music that they play to appease the young... but overall a descent place to hang out

Yelp
During my visit I was invited here by some locals one night. I enjoy a good down home bar , which is what this is. There is chicken and fish frying in the back, dancing to loud music upfront, and drinks flowing until they close. I enjoyed myself. I laughed, talked, and danced. I forgot to get me a chicken samich, but they must be good because every other person had one..lol. This is place where the locals go nothing touristy about it. If that is not your thing in a new surrounding then I would suggest not going it could be a little intimidating.

Yelp
Bertha is an exquisite place. Bertha is so hospital, she treats everyone like family. Bertha and Steve act as if they known us there entire life. It felt home away from home. We had amazing time! The first night we went there we stayed until sunrise the following day. We had so much fun we went the following night and had delicious fried fish and potatoe salad with the best cocktails. My husband and friends created great memories at Berthas. For a real NOLA experience/party go to Berthas.

Yelp
Nice little spot. More like a hole in the wall... dj was more old school. Played good music. Drinks are good. Nice and strong. They sell food in the back. More of a local city goer spot. If you want a tourist location this isn't it. Try it of you want something different. This place is heels friendly.
