Best Bars and Restaurants in South Lake Tahoe | Eater SF

"Established in 1966, Bert’s Cafe has a following that’s generations old. Located near South Lake Tahoe’s “Wye” — the intersection of Highway 89 and U.S. Highway 50 on the west end of town — Bert’s Cafe is a classic old-school diner with green leather booth seating and an extensive menu of breakfast and lunch dishes. The hash browns are crispy. The eggs are cooked to order. The whipped cream towers on the hot chocolate are dotted with sprinkles. It’s hard to go wrong at Bert’s, which is why this little diner lives up to its reputation as one of the best brunch spots in South Lake Tahoe. But if the wait is too long, there’s always Ernie’s, another coffee house and diner, right across the street." - Julie Brown Davis

Last time we came to Tahoe we didn't want to wait in line for Bert's. This time we waited in line for Bert's 25 minutes and it was absolutely worth it. The service was perfect and they were even super friendly with everyone. Very community oriented place. Worth the wait. Clean bathrooms.

This has got to be one of the best farm to table experience that I have been to. We got the breakfast burrito and the California omelette. They were almost the same thing, but the flavor was a little bit better with the burrito but you definitely got a little more food with the omelette.

Google
The wait was listed as 30 minutes but ended up closer to an hour. I ordered the turkey breakfast burrito — it was a bit soggy and could’ve used more seasoning. The highlight was definitely the blueberry pancakes: fluffy, well-cooked, and full of flavor. Might be worth a stop if there’s zero wait and you’re really hungry, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Google
If there is “six star” for service, I would definitely choose that. We are sharing one dish, and they were so nice and split the dish for us without needing to ask. Definitely a highlight for our visit to Lake Tahoe. Would return again!

First time here. The staff are VERY FRIENDLY! COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. Gives home cooking ma and pops diner. Food was delicious, the service was superb! Stop by for some good Ole cooking in a nice comfy environment!10/10

This place is unnecessarily good. They don't need to make food this delicious. Biscuits and gravy was impeccable. Eggs cooked properly. Sausage flavorful and not dried out. Fresh blueberries in the pancakes. Worth visiting Lake Tahoe for Bert's alone.

Google
We visited Bert's in the morning before heading to Emerald Bay. It's a small place and we had to wait a few minutes but the staff was super friendly and attentive. While on our trip we visited The Red Hut twice, I think the food here was just slightly better. It feels quite homey and the food here tasted just a bit better. I thought I made a bad choice getting The Cowboy, which was biscuits and gravy with a big ole sausage and eggs and hash browns, while being hung over, but my meal was amazing and felt super homemade and I didn't regret it once. We would definitely come back.

Awesome cozy classic american brunch spot. The portions are massive and there is free coffee. There is a bit of a wait time, especially on weekends, but it is well worth itt.

Yelp
Generous portions and great service from Kristen from SC!!! When here, I make sure to stop in and have the best breakfast in town!

Yelp
Typical Country Diner where all the locals meet for breakfast or Lunch. Good breakfast menu. They make mostly everything fresh in house. They serve eggs any style, potatoes any style, sausage, ham, pancakes, crepes, black coffee only (don't expect lattés), fresh squeezed Orange juice and more. All the waitresses move fast and are super friendly. The service overall is excellent. The ambiance is casual, nostalgic and friendly. The noise level is moderate to loud. I ordered scrambled eggs, hash brown with raisin toast. And on the side a banana crepe topped with whip cream. Everything tasted really good. Perfect place for a quick breakfast to fuel up before going on your hike or before starting your day. I recommend trying Bert's Café.

Yelp
Cute cozy diner! The place has been around for years and you can tell. The space is very small so the wait gets very very long. Definitely wouldn't recommend for large groups. The menu includes a plethora of omlettes, sweet treats, Benedict's, and even some south of the border specialties. The waitresses are very nice. Our coffees and waters were always full. Prices are a little much ($20-$25 a meal) but portions are large Overall, I enjoyed eating at a historic town staple but wasn't overly impressed with any aspect of the meal.

Yelp
Our fav breakfast stop when in town. Small Amer diner. Packed on a summer weekday morning ~30mins wait around 10am. Prices are reasonable to the area. Quick service & friendly waitress.

Yelp
It's a very popular classic American diner here in South Lake Tahoe. You have a bar area that directly faces the kitchen, and booths behind, almost all with windows to enjoy the beautiful trees. Somewhat limited parking right next to the restaurant but there is an overflow lot. I was seated within 10 minutes on a Sunday afternoon around 11:00 AM (only a party of 1). If you bring a larger party, I would expect a long wait. Waitresses were very friendly and quick to serve, filling up my coffee and water without me having to wave them down. Half order of biscuits and country gravy: bits of sausage inside a house made gravy along with butter biscuits. This isn't like the low quality white gravy that some low quality diners use, this is the good stuff. If you like gravy in the morning, you should order a size. I also ordered hash browns and corned beef has. They were good, but nothing particularly notable. I would 100% come back here and try some more items, maybe the eggs Benedict's. If you're looking for a great American breakfast, this is the place to be.

Yelp
Bert's is a classic SLT gem. Nestled next to an unassuming gas station, this traditional diner is exactly what you're looking for during breakfast or brunch. The egg options are cool because you can do an omelette or a frittata- both of which highly customizable. The service is beyond friendly, but also genuine and down to Earth. A huge, HUGE plus is the pricing. It's not jacked up like other SLT restaurants and you do get a great portion for the value. Furthermore, they don't force you to get carb-loaded sides like toast and home fries, you can sub for fruit or cottage cheese. The servers were really nice in accommodating our keto dietary needs. If you're someone who can pretty much eat whatever you want, you'll be happy with Bert's. Lots of meat, carb, and traditional breakfast options. Four stars (not five) because ... 1) The booth cushions need a replacement - BADLY! It's like sitting in vinyl covered wood from years of happy butts squishing the foam down. It's a good sign that so many people love this place, but not super comfortable on the back. They also have one wonky stool at the bar that should be fixed asap. 2) The seasoning game needs to be a little bit better. Our eggs were pretty bland, needed salt and pepper. I imagine this is done intentionally by the cooks because a lot of seniors come in and I'm sure heavily salting/seasoning the food from the kitchen could become troublesome for those watching their sodium intake. The thing is -- the food is still bland, so as much as you "can" do it yourself at the table, it'd be nice to have brekkie eggs that "SLAP!" Not eggs that you could probably make at home. You know what I mean? 3) The coffee is very watered down, not super strong like you'd expect from a diner. We're always surprised as to how "not-great" the coffee is ... so much so that we stopped ordering it even though we love a nice, hot cuppa joe in the AM. 4) Their soda machine either needs more carbonation or more syrup-to-water ratio. It's hard to tell what the exact issue is, but as an absolute Pepsi LOVER, this fountain soda highly misses the mark. Hope this review helps, I would recommend checking out Bert's at least once - especially if you're coming from Heidi's or Red Hut. You might be surprised!

Yelp
We went around 10 o'clock and had to wait about 30 minutes... the place was packed, and for good reason. The server was attentive and friendly, and the service overall was excellent. The place is cute, like from a movie, and of course, the food was delicious, too. I had the fried steak with gravy, and the gravy had just the right amount of guilt! The pancake was fluffy and generously portioned, very tasty. We enjoyed our brunch and will come back when we visit Lake Tahoe again.

Yelp
Came across this lovely brunch place because of the high Yelp ratings. I ordered Frank's Sausage Patty, which is perfectly cooked with a crispy surface and the taste is just right, yum. I also got hash browns and 2 over-medium eggs. Finally, the meal also comes with toast, making the portions pretty good. I was there on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too crazy, only waited for around 20 minutes.

Yelp
I was visiting glorious Lake Tahoe and was determined to find the BEST BREAKFAST and I am convinced I did at Bert's cafe. It's a cute spot with yellow coffee mugs. The coffee was good and not watered down/light. They offer fresh coffee creamer. Our waitress Jaimie offered great service and advice about where to visit (nature wise too) in Lake Tahoe. The staff in general were Toddler friendly and gave Brave a warm welcome.

Yelp
A great breakfast spot, worth the wait. A great diner vibe, helpful staff, and wonderful food. A great variety of diner staples and Mexican. I would recommend the chilaquiles.

Yelp
Came in early around 7:30am and was completely surprised to beat the line. This place is quite popular and for good reason. I sat at the counter because I was by myself. My order was taken promptly and I think the short order chief was eavesdropping because my food came out super quick. The hot chocolate is from the machine but the whipped cream and sprinkles make for a pretty sweet mix. I dig right into it because the hot chocolate will eat it up if you don't. Not wanting to spoil my appetite I down some cream and then the food arrived. The chicken fried steak had gravy and sausage piled on. The sausage was salty and a good mix with the meat. Definitely recommend coming in here if you get the chance. Lots of nice people and kind staff. Very excellent vibe.

Yelp
A great place to stop for breakfast. The service is amazing and so is the food. HUGEE portions so be ready to eat. The orange juice is made freshly squeezed- which is the best. Omelette was super good- very cheesy. Hashbrowns were perfectly crisp. I would totally come again when I come back in town!
google avatar

Yelp
Classic diner vibes, friendly service, delicious food. We had the Vegaterian Eggs benedict with hashbrowns and the combo breakfast with biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon. Large portions with great flavor. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service - highly recommend if you're in town. The staff was great at keeping coffee and water filled; we never had to ask for a thing.

Yelp
Be prepared for a long wait of at least 60 min if you go there after 10am for their brunch, but the wait is worth it. They are a small diner with limited seatings. They are known for making most of their items with homemade ingredients. And their customer services are great! Their house coffee and freshly squeezed OJ were amazing. They kept refilling our coffee mug and making us happy. The OJ was definitely freshly squeezed and it's only $5 for the largest size. Their strawberry pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Their Crepes Benedict was decent and savory, but we didn't like their benedict sauce on top of the crepes. Their cream of mushroom soup was just ok and very creamy. Their corn beef hash with scrambled eggs, and the frank sausage patty with scrambled eggs were just ok. Overall, their pancakes, house coffee and OJ were excellent enough to bring us back here next time. We will definitely try their other items on the menu.

Yelp
Everything was good and cooked perfect. All of the staff were polite and friendly. We had about a 40 minute wait, and left full. Orders are huge, so could be shared for sure! Biscuits n gravy were great, with a unique flavor and fluffy biscuits! Perfect for anyone looking for well cooked diner breakfasts.

Yelp
Stopped here for breakfast while visiting Tahoe because of all the stars. Here is my review of Bert's. This is a solid 3 star breakfast restaurant. The food was good and overall pretty solid place. The service by the server was great and she was warm and friendly and welcoming. The reason for not Better stars. Upon check-in the young man and young lady are a bit too firm and not as welcoming as the rest of the staff. Additionally the seating takes a bit longer than it should and could be more efficient. Additionally soon after we left we both had some stomach issues. Only thing we can think of is that they don't use filtered water or something in the biscuits and gravy. That's the only thing we both are. While I had the pancakes and I had some of my guests biscuits and gravy and the gravy tasted a different than we are used to, almost like cheesy. So while the food was good, not sure I would eat here again due to my stomach issues soon so the meal.

Yelp
Bert's Café is worth the wait! We had a 30 minute wait on a Saturday, but once seated, the food came out hot and delicious, and the service was super friendly. Classic diner vibes done right I am definitely coming back!
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
I wanted to leave more stars but our experience was not what I was expecting. The hostess tried to be helpful but could have been a bit more welcoming and attentive. It took forever to get a table like an hour and then once we were seated our waitress was so friendly and friendly. We ordered the biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were not as good as I thought it would be and the gravy had a good flavor but had a cheesy taste to me. The eggs and bacon were good but a bit cold. The coffee was good and flavorful. The restaurant had an old cabin look and felt cozy. I'm not sure if we would return but I'm sure there's other restaurants I would rather try or return too.

Yelp
We were meetings some friends in South Lake Tahoe after noon and they wanted a "good cafe". I hit Yelp and found Bert's along the route I figured they'd be coming in. I saw where it could be crowded, but we decided to go there. Got there a bit after noon. No wait and they sat us right down. Once our friends arrived, we ordered both breakfast and lunch items. The food came quickly and was hot. Decent portions and friendly service. We stayed there until they closed at 2:00 without bugging us since there were open tables. It isn't a big place, which is probably why it can get busy, and has the feel of a good old-fashioned diner. Next time we are in South Lake, it'll definitely be an option for eating!

Yelp
We finally made it to Bert's cafe this past Saturday for breakfast! We have visited a number of times during the past few years however there were always too many guests waiting outside and no parking to be found so we left. This past Saturday we were able to find parking right in front. The wait was about 40 minutes however we didn't mind waiting. Hubby and I both ordered the vegetarian omelette with hash brown and English muffins. I also ordered a large fresh squeezed orange juice which was perfect! A side order of bacon was also ordered to take home with us. The service and welcome greeting was friendly and appreciated. Our plates came out fairly quickly and overall we agree we are going to return again and try the lunch menu next time.

Yelp
Bert's is the perfect place to stop in Tahoe for breakfast. They are cute and cozy and they have places to sit down at tables that sit 4 comfortably and they have a counter you can also sit at. My parents have a cabin in Tahoe and this is where we stop every time. The staff are always very friendly and although they do get super busy, it's worth the wait. The hot cocoa is a must in my opinion! It gives all the nostalgia vibes and the cups that it comes in you can purchase for $10 and they're super thick and nice. Today I got the Chilaquiles and it was delicious! My husband is Hispanic so I get Chilaquiles often and this one is definitely one of my favorites. My mom got the breakfast sandwich which with bacon and she also gives it a 5/5. I will say I think maybe the potatoes don't come with salt and pepper already on them just like the eggs so you need to add your own, but I know a lot of people prefer that. their batter is made in-house so I definitely suggest you get their pancakes or waffles! But honestly almost anything you get here is amazing and the menu lets you know everything that's made in-house.

Yelp
We were looking for a solid breakfast spot on our way out of town and, after browsing a lot of Yelp reviews, decided to give Bert's a try. There was about a 15-20 minute wait, which was expected for a weekend morning. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Between my family, we ordered the French toast, sausage, scrambled eggs, mountain burger, biscuits and gravy, and Mickey pancakes. Unfortunately, the food was mostly average and forgettable. The only standout was the Mickey pancakes, which had a good flavor--though my daughter wasn't a fan of the sprinkles on top (which we didn't know came with them). The mountain burger was just OK, but on the dry side. The French toast and eggs were nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the biscuits and gravy. My wife and I both love biscuits and gravy and were excited to try them based on the rave reviews. But they ended up being the worst thing we ordered. The gravy was brown, had a strange southwestern or Santa Fe flavor, and tasted like it had salsa mixed in. It just didn't work. Service was good, and the vibe was fine, but with the food ranging from mediocre to downright bad, we'll be trying a different breakfast spot next time we're in town.

Yelp
Service and food were amazing. I can tell it's local favorite. Omelet was cooked the I liked it and the toast I asked for extra toasted and it was.

Yelp
Date: Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 Party of: 2 Meal: Breakfast / Lunch / Brunch Takeaway Time Order Placed: around 12:45pm Time Ready: about 20 mins later *Egg Breakfast: 2 Large Eggs Over Easy, Hash Browns, Wheat Toast, Homemade Corned Beef Hash *8" Pancakes: Short Stack, 2, add Blueberry Compote and Whipped Cream *Side Bacon, 4 *Salad & 1/2 Sandwich: House Salad with Ranch - no croutons, no olives, Turkey Sandwich Since we've been in Tahoe weekly and eating mainly fast food, I wanted something else. And from a place I've never tried before. After doing a yelp search, I decided on Bert's. I called in the takeout order and the hubby went to pick it up. He didn't get an itemized receipt, but total before tip was $52.04. For some reason, I didn't read the salad / soup plus half sando description correctly. I thought I could pick any salad or sandwich. But you only get the basic selections. I originally wanted their broccoli soup, but after I placed our order, they called me back (I guess they have caller ID since I didn't leave my number) and said they were out. I just got the green salad instead since there was no other choice. The salad was good. Kinda small. More like a 1/2 salad. The sandwich was fine, but dry. I liked the sourdough, but it needed more than just the little bit of mayo they put on one side of the sandwich. Luckily, we had yellow mustard at the house. I actually added a piece of bacon from our side as well to make it a little more substantial. The hubs suggested we get the pancakes to share. It ended up being a great idea since they were delish. The berry compote and whipped cream went with them nicely. I didn't try any of his breakfast, but he seemed to enjoy everything. A good spot to grab brunch. Definitely recommend their pancakes and compotes since they are all made in house. REVIEW #3527

Yelp
92-year old Dad wanted ham & eggs for breakfast. A quick Yelp search and we ended up at Bert's. Based on Yelp reviews we knew it would be a long wait, but it was about 15-20 minutes sitting outside. The large menu includes everything from eggs to burgers to sandwiches to salads. Inside looks just like a classic homey mountain diner that has been unchanged for decades. For sure this is a place the locals frequent, and it's definitely not a tourist trap like you'll find closer to Stateline. Every single staff person was exceptionally nice, from the hostess seating us to the manager checking up on us. The waitresses were young and cheerful, and our coffee cups were topped off more times than I can remember. The food is standard breakfast fare and filling. Our eggs were made to order, bacon crispy, French toast perfect, and the freshly made corned beef had very tasty. Reviews are on the money. Bert's Café is the place to go. We are going to be regulars whenever we come to South Lake Tahoe.

Yelp
Not going to spend too much time on this review. Little restaurant after the Y, playing off of the Bert and Ernie thing (Ernie across the street). The coffee was very watered down. My Eggs Benedict Spinach & Tomato lacking. The eggs were over done(no runny yolk, the hollandaise sauce was overdone and congealed, and the potatoes were burnt and undercooked (heat was too high). *Service was good*

Yelp
After reading all the reviews, I thought OK they say they're super friendly and the food is really good so I'm gonna finally give them a try. I stood at the podium for a few minutes after walking in. After she took my name, I waited and then another couple walked in. Two tables were cleared, and then I was seated into a table that was kind of in the corner. And the couple that came in after Me was seated at the nice window seat. I wonder why? So I listened around to hear if I was going to hear that friendly service, friendly staff stuff that I read all the reviews. I don't know. I just didn't hear it. I looked at the menu and I decided that I was going to have the cowboy that consisted of biscuits and gravy home fried potatoes, two eggs and sausage as you can see in the picture that I posted. It was not that great presentation. I ordered the sausage kind and the eggs , when brought to the table, the seem to be broke already. It was all under the gravy on top of the biscuits. The potatoes were very bland. They didn't have much flavor surprised because of all the reviews that I had read. To be honest, I didn't even finish my tea. The tea was just OK too. How do you not make good tea? It seems to be water down quite a bit. Well I'll probably give it one more try cause I always try every place twice, but I don't think I'm gonna get much difference. About that friendly service I don't know where it was cause I didn't experience it. Maybe next time.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Lake Tahoe, Bert's Cafe is a must-visit! The portions here are impressively generous--just watching dishes being served will make you feel full. Despite being in a tourist hotspot, the prices are refreshingly reasonable. The cafe serves handmade ranch, freshly squeezed orange juice, and exceptional, speedy service Ambiance is great too
google avatar

Yelp
We both loved our meals here! Parking is a bit tight but they have extra parking a couple lots down, and definitely expect a wait to be seated. The hot chocolate was fun with a heap of whipped cream and sprinkles on top. My Mexican frittata was tasty and full of flavor, same with the biscuits and gravy - that was some goood gravy! We left stuffed but really enjoyed our meals. The staff we spoke too were all very nice and friendly as well. Would recommend!

Yelp
This will definitely be my new go-to spot for breakfast in Tahoe. Everything tried was amazing. Service was friendly and fast. I especially enjoyed the chicken fried bone-in pork chop. The chicken fried steak was amazing, too. It was not a cube steak, but rather a thin cut of an actual steak. Definitely a notch otlr two above your average griddle breakfast joint.
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Old school retro mountain cabin vibes. Friendly, attentive and relaxed service. Eggs sausage bacon pancakes good. French toast a lil dry & bland lacking seasoning with nutmeg and cinnamon. Fruit compote tastes like from a can. Very syrupy and processed tasting.

Yelp
After waiting for an hour for seating on a drizzly Sunday morning my wife and I enjoyed some delicious Benedicts that were well worth the wait. Rich in flavor and beautifully done hollandaise any worries about the food here quickly faded away. The Cafe is cute and cozy and very reasonably priced for what you get and the staff was friendly despite the busiest hours of the day, definitely would recommend coming back here and trying other things on their menu!

Yelp
Stopped by on our weekend trip to Tahoe! It was plenty busy on a Saturday around 12:30 (makes sense) but our group of 6 was still able to be seated within about 10 minutes. It took a little bit of time for us to actually order food, but coffee + water came quickly; service was very friendly; and our food was out quickly after ordering! I got the pecan waffle with strawberry compote (delicious) and a side of corn beef hash, which was a little flat and mostly fried meat? but still yummy. The vibe of the place is definitely classic diner; I appreciate it as I have not found one quite like it since leaving the diner kingdom! (New Jersey.) Service is great, space is fairly clean, music was fun and at a respectable volume, and menu has anything you could want for a breakfast-brunch-lunch. Glad we visited!

Yelp
Always looking for a great breakfast. There are many good places in Tahoe for breakfast. Today Bert's was the best breakfast I've had. Service. Quality. Quantity. This will be a must visit from now on.

Yelp
What a cozy spot that serves up some comfort food made with love. The breakfast sandwich on sourdough was very tasty and the hot cocoa was just right on a cold day! Service was great! 5 stars!

Yelp
Homey restaurant in Lake Tahoe with HUGE portions - come hungry or ready to share! - Biscuits and gravy (5/5) - HUGE for a full serving. Gravy has a nice spiced flavor to it, a nice kick but not too everything. The two biscuits come cut in half, so 4 huge slices. - French Toast (5/5) - delicious and fluffy - California omelet (4/5) - also a big serving, but a bit too much cheese. Ingredients are well incorporated - Pancakes (5/5) I ordered the breakfast combination with 2 eggs, 3 bacon slices, and choice of biscuits, French toast, or pancakes. Good value for $15. The restaurant is small with limited seating. Counter seating is also available. Waited about 20 min on a Saturday afternoon, service was super friendly and attentive. You can tell it's a place that cares about service and that customers have a great experience.

Yelp
Wow. I hate myself for not coming here after all these years. This place has got to the best breakfast I've had in South Tahoe. I come to tahoe 2-4 times a year and this place is always packed. This time around, I went on a Monday and was able to snag a table without a wait. Go with ANY Bert specials, you will not be disappointed. My glutinous ways got me in trouble. I should have ordered a cowgirl, but instead I got the cowboy breakfast and it was too much food. Some of the best, and I mean the best biscuits and gravy. The gravy was full bodied and had some peppers and bacon! That's very different from other places and sets this place apart right away. Each plate that was served was filled with food. Prices are reasonable for today's economy. Fresh squeezed orange juice was so fresh and full of flavor! The workers here are so sweet and patient! They all work together and were all delightful. Do yourself a favor and wait for this place. It is worth the wait! So delicious! Ridiculously delicious. Can't wait to be back later this year to eat this again!

Yelp
We had the hamburger with crispy bacon, the kids, chicken tenders, and the biscuits and gravy plus the Country breakfast two eggs three pieces of bacon and pancakes it was amazing!!! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Food so good we visited twice in a 48 trip for breakfast. It's a small town diner that has a lot of character and is really popular with the locals. First time we visited we waited about 30 minutes and were told the trick is to get there at 7 when they open for quickest seating (which we did the next day and it was true). Many items on the menu are made fresh from scratch the same day and you can tell. The waffle was amazing and my friend loved her breakfast sandwich. Would absolutely come back here when back in the area.

Yelp
We wanted some takeout breakfast to bring with us to the ski resort. I saw the great reviews for Bert's and that it was on the way, so we decided to order from here! I was glad I called ahead because they were very busy when we arrived. I was surprised to see so many places in South Lake don't open until 8 or 9am for breakfast. Bert's opens at 7am and clearly many other people also took advantage of being able to get an early start here! I ordered a breakfast burrito and my husband got the ranchero burrito. Both seemed a little bit more expensive than we thought they'd be, until we saw how huge they were! Easily enough for two meals or to fill you for many hours. We didn't realize the ranchero one was served as a smothered wet burrito that you don't pick up. It was okay because we had a place to sit and eat it before getting on the ski lifts. My husband said it was delicious and he especially loved the chorizo! Mine was great too, super filling and stayed together well despite how much was stuffed inside. They even gave us a big side of salsa to have with both burritos. I can't comment on the service or dining experience since we did takeout, but our food was ready right when we arrived to pick it up which was nice since we were on a time crunch. This was a pretty solid spot for a quick breakfast while in South Lake and I'm glad we stopped by!

Yelp
Big delicious breakfast. Staff was prompt and very helpful. One of our kids was fussy and the staff provided some crayons and something to color to help calm him down. Great Tahoe breakfast spot for the family.

Yelp
We decided to try a new breakfast place while we were in Tahoe. Based on the picture on Yelp, I chose to go here. We got there early and were able to get seated quickly. We sat down and ordered. I read that the biscuits and gravy were great so I decided to order that. We got a side order of French toast. The biscuits and gravy were not good at all. It was under seasoned just like the French toast. The French toast needed more cinnamon. It was not fluffy. We paid over $70 for three dishes that were not good at all. I was very disappointed.

Yelp
They have long wait times for a reason. It's a nice wholesome diner style cafe specializing in breakfast and lunch items. We love going here when we are visiting our favorite place.

Yelp
Okay okay this is probably going to be an unpopular opinion but wasn't a big fan of this place. The ratings were great so i came in with some high expectations. I just felt like it was basic (maybe because of the breakfast we got). Parking wasn't great so we had to park off-site. My hash browns were bland and my English muffins weren't toasted. I think i just had high expectations going in which made this place fall flat.

Yelp
10/10 Yes. Stop looking, come here!!! I walked in and immediately loved it. Ambiance: warm, fuzzy and cozy! The host and wait staff were absolutely fantastic. They aren't just there to work but to make your experience enjoyable. They are top-tier. When I say 10/10, I mean they killed customer service and efficiency. The host will make it known they called your name out. They walk the lot screaming it to make sure they find you. Inside, our waitress was so sweet and tentative. She topped our coffees off, checked in multiple times, and allowed menu adjustments without a fuss. I can't stress how enjoyable and delicious this place was. Food: Extra crispy has browns Biscuits & gravy ‍ The custom burrito was nailed! I highly recommend 100/100! Well done! Xoxo
