Bertucci's Italian Restaurant

I'm the grandson of Italians. I can confirm the lasagna was wonderful. Excellent place, excellent service. The food needs no introduction. Everything was very good. Congratulations to the managers and the staff. Thank you for the beautiful and foresighted service.

I ordered a Margherita pizza, and as you can see in the photos, it looks nothing like what it’s supposed to be — it’s definitely not a real Margherita pizza. I’m sharing the pictures so you can compare what they advertise versus what they actually deliver. I called the restaurant, but they didn’t refund my money. Very disappointing experience, and I definitely won’t be ordering from Bertucci’s in Waltham again.

All the dishes were horrible, not recommended at all We had the aglio olio, fettuccine in alfredo sauce, chicken picanta (not as horrible as the others), and garlic knots. Pastas were undercooked, bland and simply tastless

It was a great experience eating at this place while visiting my brother and his lady friend along with my other brother. The seating was comfortable and spacious. I observed excellent service by a young female waiter with an interesting name, we would say with a smile. She gave us balanced attention and courteous observation of our food selections. She was friendly to the point I thought my brother knew her prior to coming to the restaurant. His lady friend made it a point to speak directly to the manager on the professionalism this waitress gave us. BTW, the view of the street added to our conversations, like where this location was and what and who we knew in the area, etc.

So disappointed with the food we ordered. This was for a delivery order, the staff had packed the tiramisu directly on top of the Alfredo which ensured that the tiramisu arrived melted (which I didn’t even think was possible with tiramisu!). Nothing was wrapped in foil or in a separate bag to even try and preserve the integrity of the dish. And the portion of Alfredo my husband and I usually order to split was significantly smaller than usual, and lacked an insane amount of sauce and salt. Overall, a horrible experience.

I just want to make this clear, this is a $30 large shrimp pizza. There is not even one shrimp per slice. I call to speak to the Manager and ready for this? Sorry, it’s an expensive ingredient. Sir, it’s an expensive pizza. Can’t wait until this location is gone along with the other ones, what a ripoff. Edited to add the fact that the “Manager” offered to make another pizza but I declined, I felt bad bankrupting the organization with another 8 shrimp.

My family and I came here on a Saturday and had such a WONDERFUL time here. I was greeted with such comforting and inviting staff members and the manager who were just so nice to us. Marty (the manager) gave the kids free aprons which was just so nice! The bread we started with was excellent! Talk about great free food! Our pizzas came is super fast and the food was just amazing! I recommend this restaurant a lot. Great service and AMAZING food!

Awesome pizza, they had BOGO offer on Tuesday. Definitely a must try!

We ordered delivery via Grubhub. The food arrived quickly, in the expected time frame. The pizza was okay. We got a few and none were standout greats. They weren't piping hot. The flavor was solid but the dough a bit hard. They were great with allergies and very friendly on the phone.

Me and my daughter went here! She got a chocolate and vanilla gelato! GELATO?! It was so good she didn't even save any for me aha! Chef kiss!

Love this place. I hadn't been here in years and it's just nice to be back in a place where I can get a good solid meal of pizza/salad/whatever I want that day. The croutons are not great but that's my only qualm. It's always the same menu, nothing much changes but that's the beauty of a place like this, if that's what you're in the mood for. We had great service tonight from Hristina! We will be back when we are in the area again.

Went in last night on a busy Friday night (Celtics and Red Sox games on) with a friend, we arrived at 7 and wanted to sit at one of the tables in the bar since there is always great people-watching. While the entire restaurant was packed the bartender - Hristina (sp?) - did an amazing job getting everyone drinks and food. I had the eggplant, my friend had the chicken & broccoli and we also had the side order of meatballs (my to-go container will make a great lunch later on!). We also had drinks, lots of rolls and everything was terrific. Thanks again to Hristina, she is very kind and was hustling the entire time we were there!

This is one of the more mediocre restaurants in existence. The staff, however, is incredibly accommodating and inviting. No shade to them. Fierce fierce fierce, henny. I've been here a couple of times in the last few months. The calzones are definitely worth eating. Well cooked, great flavors, but a bit pricey for a fancy folded over pizza with half the volume. Would appreciate a bit more bang for my buck, especially from a chain. And I also came here on a day when the jest was completely broken. Not kidding - the place was about 40 degrees. Should have just closed it down for the day as everyone had to wear their winter coats inside. I'll come back here for the location. It's a chain so the quality is consistent, at least. Just not incredibly special.

This is my neighborhood location- one of a handful of locations left. Friendly crew- good service. I enjoyed dining in the bar area. The Sporkie is my favorite pizza- hard to pass up those amazing rolls. Full service bar. Had regular crust this time but I appreciate the availability of a cauliflower (GF) crust when I want one.

The staff where friendly. The pizza Saudi had a great flavour, the crust was soft and chewy. We also had the spaghetti and meat sauce had a great flavour. There was a steady stream pick up orders. We are from out of country, if we had discovered Bertucci's the day before we would have been there two nights.

Pizza was decent Rolls delicious as always Service was ok BUT Get REAL Almost $50 for a pizza, 2 sodas tax and tip. For that kind of $$ there are much better options out there. Now I understand why this chain is constantly closing locations and in financial difficulty......time to get your pricing in line with the quality of what you are offering

I was craving pasta and it was right across the street so I decided to go into Bertucci's and to my surprise They messed up the entire order. I believe the order taker over the phone was Mike. A specifically asked for no cheese got cheese. I specifically asked for extra gravy got no gravy. I asked for a certain types of pasta didn't get the pasta I wanted. It's too late to call the Manager tonight but I'll take care of that tomorrow. Can't say that I'll be back for maybe another three or four years And the prices, I remember Bertucci being affordable $27.95 for chicken cutlet w/sauce. An extra 2.99 for soup and a free salad and the bread still delicious was right out of the oven so that was nice but to be honest I can't remember one time maybe like when they first opened in the 80s where the order came out, correct.

I asked them to turn the NBA game on and they have some Russian on the board. If they're going to do this, it would be easier to get a private room and not disturb everyone else's dinner by yelling in front of the whole restaurant .

First - They add a Delivery Charge to your order, that doesn't go to the driver. They outsource their delivery. Second - They add a "service Fee of $4.20" to my order. I am ordering online, this is a ficticious way of increasing their prices , with out being an adult and raising their prices. If you want ragin disappointment from the Zack Morris of pizza.

Good pizza, friendly and courteous service. We were family of 3. Highly recommended! Location was walking distance from our hotel so we enjoyed draft beer, too!

Amazing service from Alper for a family dinner on a snowy night! Very attentive and kind, and the food was great. We were looking for a place near downtown where we could all relax and talk for a bit! Also the Syracuse game was on right by our table!

Tried to order 2 large pizzas online using the promo code for buy 1, get 1 free on Tuesday which is 2FORTUESDAY according to the Bertucci's website. I've done it on past Tuesdays with no difficulty, but after numerous tries today and no success, I gave up. Time to give up on Bertucci's altogether. After multiple bankruptcy filings and reorganizations, this chain has lost its way.

They did a decent Job when we visited. 6 people. Rainy night. Got seated. Waiter was good. Our main pizza was not hot. It was lukewarm. But, we all cleaned our plates. Kids were happy. No complaints.

Marty the manager was the kindest and most accommodating host. My girlfriend is celiac and because her options were limited, he allowed her to bring outside food in and still treated us like royalty. Nice to know some restaurants put humans first, and thank you Marty!

Fantastic service!! The food was great and large portions. Great family environment. Definitely ask for Maja as your waitress. She was lovely and made us feel so welcome.

I really like Bertucci pizza with eggplant and sweet sausage. The brick fire oven and the thin crust dough is a style and taste I prefer in pizza. I keep coming back. Their rolls fresh from over are great too.

When I say inedible I mean it. And I go in knowing this is a cruddy chain, but thinking it will be okay for a quick meal. My fettuccine Alfredo was with egg noodles (not actual pasta) and what seemed like 2 spoons of just sopping wet milk poured over rather than fettuccine...with...Alfredo (a creamy white sauce, bertucci's, since you don't seem to understand that). The meatballs were completely made of bread and fatty bits, with zero salt, seasoning, or real meat. Additionally I found something odd and chunky and pink in my "pasta" A chunk of uncooked chicken? Shrimp? Raw pork? Who knows. My boyfriend got the margarita pizza which had 3 small literal pieces of green plastic on it., not basil, actual plastic. On top of all that, the bartender screams (really screams) a few sentences to anyone who comes in. (The one with the Mohawk and beard) Can't express enough how much this was the worst meal I have ever had. We took most of the pizza to go just to toss it in the bin outside to avoid being too insulting but we literally ate less than half of everything we ordered. The waitress should have noticed and asked if anything was wrong, also never got our drinks refilled/checked on. Tipped more than 20% because and only because I was a waitress but still absolutely abominable and needed to go home to cook afterwards.

We ordered Bertucci's from their catering menu for a meeting at work; we had an excellent experience with ordering and it being verified by the person who said he was delivering it to us. One of my staff said the eggplant parm was fantastic. Salad was huge as well as the portions of pasta and chicken parm. Sadly, there were no rolls leftover for me to take home as everyone ate them all. We'll be ordering again from them for our next meeting.

What!!!! We hit up Bertucci's in Newton Ma ! Wow ... great restaurant! Food was delicious and service outstanding ( my wife is tuff to please and she said this was was amazing)! Good times had by all, thank you for the great dinning experience!

We have been going to Bertucci,'s Newton corner for many years. The last couple of times we have been disappointed with the service and the food. Is Bertucci's cutting corners? The "large pizza" is the style of a medium one. Last week, we had to ask for the bread & water before getting those. My husband and a friend both ordered Chicken parm. It came one after the other with a 10 mins + delay between the two orders.. I ordered a Ceasar salad and it took over 20 mns to get it!!!The salad at the bottom of the bowl could have been more crisp and fresh. Overall it was a frustrating experience. We might not go again!!!

We love their pizza specially Tuesdays special buy one and get one free. :) It is a great deal for a greater pizza

Came here with a friend for dinner. It was a busy Saturday evening so there was maybe about a twenty minute wait but it wasn't too bad. I got the Chicken Parmigiana along with pasta and a side salad. The chicken was fresh tasting and delicious and the sauce that came on the dish was very good with just the right amount of spices. The salad greens were crispy and the Italian dressing that came with the salad was very good as well. The server was attentive and efficient, refilling drinks and stopping by the table every now and again to ensure that we were satisfied with our food and had everything we needed. I am glad I got to try this location.

Details, details...I'm a details person, and sadly today's visit was a clear indication of Bertucci's hoping their customers don't notice the changes. Firstly, I want to say that my server Stephanie was awesome. She could tell that I wasn't pleased with my experience but tried her best to improve my visit by offering to remake my meal and to bring other salad dressings for me to try. The first time I walked into a Bertucci's was in 1989. I was with a teacher who accompanied me to a school event, and it was dinner time. She took me here for pizza, but I was more interested in the chicken and broccoli Alfredo. Being a first-generation Chinese American with immigrant parents, I rarely got a chance to dine at Western restaurants! So, this meal was very exciting and a real treat for me. The dish was amazing and became my immediate go to for when eating out with friends. When I went off to college, a friend who was studying at Harvard would take me to the Harvard Square location. We loved the rolls! Flash forward to 2023, the rolls are half the size, and you don't even get butter anymore. The insalata that comes with your lunch entree doesn't contain a single tomato, and the "new and improved" Italian dressing is a beige colored goop with "cheese" in it? Thank goodness it still has at least one olive! My chicken, broccoli, and ziti, which I asked to be made Alfredo style, lacked any umami. When I'm craving a cream sauce, I want it to taste rich and full of flavor. What a major disappointment today. I could have dined at the Greenhouse Cafe in Brighton, which makes an amazing chicken and broccoli Alfredo, but I was craving the rolls and original yellow-ish Italian-style salad dressing which is not the same anymore, sadly! Also, I didn't feel like driving and looking for parking in Oak Square. I only ate half of my order and took the rest to go as an after school snack for my daughter. I was given a tin foil to go box which was slightly annoying b/c then I'd have to find another container at home to reheat the leftovers in a microwave. What about using something that is paper based, which is cheaper than a plastic container, so that heating up leftovers is easy? Everything about this experience was not customer friendly. I could sense the restaurants every chance to save a few pennies. Another thing that really bothered me was that I walked straight into the dining area but a lady who was behind me got served her take-out first. I'm not sure if that was the manager or not, but I've worked FOH before in many restaurants and felt slighted in this way. How that take-out patron got acknowledged before me, a dine-in guest, is beyond me! Last but not least, I used to think the pizza was good here, but over the years, it has started to morph into tasting like the pizza you get from the frozen section at the super market. I came once for the Tuesday special, buy one get one free. The pizzas looked smaller than usual and lacked cheese and sauce. Even my six year-old daughter refuse to eat them as she doesn't like the super market frozen aisle pizzas! I attempted to keep some frozen ones at home for quick meals, but she wouldn't eat them, so we are not far off in feeling that the Bertucci's pizzas taste like the frozen ones. Two stars - one for the service and one for the rolls! And I'm sad to say that I won't be returning. What happened to this chain? They should raise the prices to keep it the same. Not downgrade quality. Your old customers will see it and be disappointed. So, you only want new customers???

Great atmosphere. Nice bar area with several good choices for draft beer. Pizza is the best. (and of course the rolls). Service is great. Friendly bartender. Will come back!

April 2023:4: I revisited this location today. The service was really good. We enjoyed the pizza and the chicken Parmesan, but the sandwich was just basic and okay. I would not order it again. I believe this visit was better than the last time we were here later last year. Oct2022: 3: My spouse and I came here to help me celebrate my birthday. We were accomstomed to seeing Bertuccis Italian Restaurant in the DC-MD-VA area, we had not been back to the area in a while. Since we came across several here, we decided to visit this location. We wanted to get something light to eat for our evening meal. I noted there was handicapped parking adjacent to the front door. The lot was not that large to accommodate a crew cab pickup truck and maneuver without difficulty. We were not greeted when we entered the restaurant. In fact, we asked a worker at the pizza area where we could sit. We were soon seated and placed our drink orders. The lemonade wasn't that great. It was watered down way too much. We ordered a pizza and an entree special I saw on the menu. The pizza was pretty good but the entree was not good for me. The chicken was tender and not rubbery. It had grill marks on the surface of the chicken which overpowered the flavor of the dish. I tasted more of the grill on the chicken than I did the simple toppings on top of the chicken. The sauce featured on the chicken was not plentiful enough to cover the overpowering burn taste of the grill marks. It may have redeemed this entree if more was included with the meal. This seemed to be a kitchen failure to ensure the meal was the one intended to be served. The side items of broccoli and potatoes were a good match for me. This whole experience was a reminder that our memories were not as accurate as we thought.

So sad to see how this place has gone downhill. Undercooked chicken wings, they now put cheese above their pizza toppings... which makes no sense. Also, the service could not have been slower. Might as well just blame thIs on COVID-19....

service was amazing - ask for maja when you go! got started with the complimentary rolls, absolutely devoured them they are delicious. then i had the "best pasta ever" and i think they were right it was. must recommend for a great time with family or friends

We went there super hungry around 5pm. Was happy to see their weekly specials. It was Wednesday and the day special was chicken, broccoli and penne. It's a meal for 2 for $20. Amazing deal because we love this dish. Started with complimentary bread, salad and the arrived the main dish. As soon as we took the first bite, it didn't feel right. It wasn't fresh. Chicken was super chewy and we wondered whether it's half cooked. Penne was definitely half cooked. Disaster. Obviously we did not finish the meal. But luckily I had ordered their chicken wings, which were nice. I am giving 2 stars because, for some reason, I think this may have been an aberration. Hope you don't experience this. During my next trip to bertucci's, I am going to be scared to order pasta. Will probably try their pizza.

Bertuccis pizzas, pastas, and bread/dinner rolls are all amazing. Love picking up food here to go and am never disappointed :) Most recently tried the lasagna, which was a good portion and topped with a ton of cheese! Delightful meal!

I don't often give reviews, but I wanted to give my thoughts on some things that I've noticed and I can't say enough good things! Been coming to Bertuccis for years. Typically sit at the bar, and every time, I've had superior service. A newer bartender Alex, Hristina or Jillian have always been accommodating and very friendly. It's obvious they all care about doing their job well which is hard to come by these days in restaurants. The renovations look great and the kitchen staff is always smiling and extremely welcoming to everyone walking by. I've met the manager, Marty, a few times. You'll always see him walking around and talking to guests (even when he has to use a cane!) He definitely helps to make the place feel inviting and welcoming. I usually order a pizza of some sort-and love the "two for Tuesday's" deal. The same pizza guy makes my pizza each time I'm there, and it's always tastes great. You can tell he cares about doing his job well. Another favorite of mine is the shrimp Rossini, but I don't like shrimp so I usually order it with chicken. They are always accommodating to this request! Highly recommend that dish. I've noticed it has not been as busy as it used to be, but hopefully with all the positive changes I've noticed, that this will get better. See ya soon Bertuccis!

Unfortunately this is a corporate chain with extremely bland food, I'm assuming stuff is frozen and microwaved because holy moly did it suck. It was simply tasteless. And how the heck can a dish with tomato sauce and Parmesan be bland‽! They are practically the essence of umami flavor. Service here is fine, but man can I not recommend it based on the food. I hate to say it but Olive Garden is better. Does that paint a picture for you? Steer clear of this place.

Came for some za. Parking lot with lots of parking. We got the Pucillo (pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, mushrooms, peppers, onions, house-made tomato sauce & mozzarella). This was pretty good. Loved the topping combo. Pizza is thin and floppy. lol. It dangles when you hold it. I tend to like more rigid pizzas with garlic flavored crust like those from Dominos. But this pizza wasn't bad. I'd order it again. The roasted chicken and broccoli (roasted chicken, marinated broccoli, mozzarella & lemon pepper cream sauce) was pretty good as well. Only complaint was not a lot of chicken. Other than that, I loved it. Overall, a decent spot for pizzas. Before the pandemic, I dined in a couple of times. I had a good experience. It was very family-oriented spot back then. Now, it looks pretty empty inside. I would order from here again.

This review is for their pasta and NOT their pizza. Got the Chicken parmesan (lunch portion) with a Caesar on the side. Forgot to ask for the dressing on the side. It was DRENCHED with dressing. who eats a salad like that. It was like ordering dressing with a side of salad...started off disappointed. The chicken came out, It was served with spaghetti pasta and "sauce". This sauce, I kid you not, tasted like crushed tomatoes out of a can. I took 1 bite and didn't touch the rest. Really unappetizing. Then chicken itself did not seem like it was made to order but more like it was premade and heated up...You know how a chicken parm cutlet has a nice crust to it...nah this was soggy. The ONLY thing good i can say is that the table bread and dipping sauce was good. Never eaten here before since I don't care too much for chain restaurants and im not coming back

I heard about the new menu and new chef inspired meals. Very disappointed. We ordered Mac n cheese. It was watery not creamy, and cold in the middle. Very bland had no flavor at all. Roasted broccoli with whipped ricotta. Was not roasted but boiled frozen then slightly browned in the oven. Very watery. Ricotta was not whipped. It was actually cold and chunky. Pizza was good. I would not recommend. The Manager seemed only interested in selling drinks. I hope my feedback makes a difference. Probably not. Will not return.

This rating is based entirely on this restaurant's attitude and approach to public safety and regulations... We are dealing with a pandemic. Whether or not you think it's a big deal, for some of us who have immuno-compromised family members, it is. So, recently, to celebrate an occasion we decided to go out to eat. We felt comfortable doing so because of a city-wide mandate requiring masks to be worn by employees and guests at restaurants in Newton. We walk into the restaurant only to find that not a single employee is wearing a mask. I ask the hostess (who is standing about two feet from a sign that says that masks are required by order of the city) why they aren't masked. She said "we don't do that here." We left and will never go back.

I noticed that Bertuccis recently reopened and wanted to give it a try. Ordered online and arrived exactly on time to pick up my order. Someone came over to hand me my food within ~1 min of my walking through the door. I asked the gentleman behind the counter for a few rolls to go with the pizza and he gave me six :) My pizza is hot and fresh and cooked perfectly and we have a ton of warm fresh out of the oven rolls as well. What more can you ask for. I will come back.

Our food took over an hour to arrive. When it did it was cold and disgusting. I had asked for Cajun pasta no protein. I got both chicken and sausage in my meal as pictured below. The cheese on the rigatoni was congealed. The rolls were almost hard. We called to ask for a refund where I spoke to the store manager. She was really rude and couldn't guarantee a refund even for my pasta. She lacked basic professionalism and wasn't very accommodating or helpful. Never going here again and this place used to my favorite. Love, 3 pissed hangry gals.

I've been eating at a Bertucci's for over 25 years. We don't have them here locally so when we travel we always look for them. This was a terrible experience! It started with the lemonade which tasted like mouthwash and made my son and I sick. They couldn't figure out how to hook up the Raspberry Iced tea so they couldn't serve it. The Chicken parm sandwich tasted so bland it was like eating paper. The lentil soup was horrible, flavorless, runny like no one had ever made lentil soup before. All together a terrible experience.

The food was very good, as well as the service. The ambience of the place was very welcoming.

Very good food, great service. Staff was very accommodating. I would definitely come back and recommend to others.
