"The wasteland-like atmosphere of to-go food in the suburbs has somewhat improved in recent years with fresh entrants like Berwyn Chicken Co, a takeout- and delivery-only spot from the team behind Big Guys Sausage Stand. It specializes in crispy, juicy fried chicken dinners, plus fried whole wings, jumbo fried shrimp, and delightful mini-churros that come with 15 to an order." - Naomi Waxman, Eater Staff

Been wanting to try this place for a HOT minute and it was worth the wait. Chicken sandwiches are so big they come in a cake box! 🤯 Berwyn Hot sandwich has amazing seasoning on it but surprisingly no heat. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Oak Park Cool sandwich was a great classic chicken sandwich. Having a mix of tots & fries was dope too. Plus, that punk sauce was fire! My friend said the fish & chips were just as good as when he had it back in Scotland and London. 😱 Definitely gotta go back but gotta find the right time since it took like 40 minutes to get our food. I like that it had a little parking lot, but the place is small with some window seats so I might not be able to bring my kid.

First time here. We tried both types of the chicken sandwiches offered, with a mix of the French fries and tater tots, the wings combo with the mac and cheese, and the chicken Pierre strips combo with the mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was very good, made fresh to order, and the sandwiches were very large in size, and the portions of everything else were of good size and plenty to share. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the coleslaw, and I wish I could have tried the other sauces, but they charge extra for each one and it is a bit on the pricey side but worth the trip. Would recommend. Parking is hard to find.

Best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Homemade lemonade is fire. Does take awhile to make chicken, so maybe order ahead. Sandwich was only available at lunch. Took us about 20 min from when we ordered. Staff are polite. Highly recommend the tots. The seasoning they put in the fries is something special. Some parking in the back & nearby. Inside is a counter stand set up with about 10 spots. No bathroom. Clean inside. Somewhat accessible.

(1) hot chicken and a small Mac n cheese. 1.5 hours to make. Placed order online, went to pick it up 30min later. Than was told 10min longer maybe more. Finally after one and a half hours after the initial order, received this regular sized chicken sandwich. Not impressed at all. This was my 2nd time there. the first time I was a walk in. Waited about 40min. Sandwiches were huge but not this time. If you don’t mind wasting your time then go ahead and place your order and wait. Never again, DISAPPOINTED !!

Passed by this spot on our way to downtown to get something to fuel up with. Chicken was perfectly fried and crispy. The flavor was nice. They offered a variety of sauces, all were great. Overall it was a nice surprise. Would go back again. Bussin!

I tried this place after seeing it on TikTok a couple of times. I was tired of eating at the usual local spots that I knew, so I made the 30 minute drive to try them out after all of the great reviews. The gentleman who took my order on the phone was polite, helpful, even said having my food ready when I got there would be no problem. He said 15 minutes, I had read the wait is usually a lot longer. And with it being lunchtime I expected as such. Window seating only, and they were all open. Parking was good for this day’s lunchtime. Food was ready when I got there. The POS asked for a tip even though all they did was hand it through a window. But being that they did have my food ready when I got there I tipped. I did not find anything that I liked to drink there. But they had some interesting choices. I ordered the Berwyn Hot Sandwich with the Punk sauce on the side, fries and tots, two Italian Beef Egg rolls, they are what I would call normal size, and a small mashed potatoes. In the bag was just the food, no napkins, no utensils, no ketchup. I opened the box, and as mentioned in another review, the sandwich is greasy. The bottom bun was soaked and kept leaking on my fingers as I ate the sandwich. I put layers of paper towels, my own, as none were included, under the box so the grease did not leak onto my pants or my truck console. It is an orange grease so you are warned! I tried the egg rolls first, so so, I thought they lacked any real taste. Good crunch though. I did eat both of them. Fortunately I had plasticware in my truck and was able to try the mashed potatoes. Again, IMO, no flavor at all. Maybe if they had included salt and pepper packets I could have saved them. There was a bite or two of coleslaw in the box, it was tasteless as well IMO. The sandwich patty is big, had a good flavor, slightly sweet, although that may have been the bun, and a good crunch. I did run into a part of it that was a thin layer of tough, stringy, almost fibrous pieces that I could not bite through. I ran into that about a two thirds of the way of the sandwich in a couple of places and just stopped eating. I tried to show that in the pictures. The highlights were the tots and fries. They were both good! The Punk sauce is very good as well. If I had known I had to provide my own plasticware, napkins, and ketchup from where I bought my drink, I would not have tipped.

Definitely a takeout place, but my God some of the best chicken I've ever had. That chicken sandwich made me sleep so well.... haha.... it's a beauty to behold ands taste. The onion rings are some of the best I've had in the city. The breading is so light and crunchy, and the rings inside are thin & and delicate. I also got a few pieces of dark meat to try and it is so tasty and cooked perfectly. Cannot wait to come back!

The fries here are some of the best I've had. Their crunch survived the drive home. The chicken strips were also quite good. I specifically went for the fish and chips. The fish was a massive portion, it didn't fit flat in the giant cake box. The fish was so flaky and really good. My only slight gripe is both times I've ordered the food has been delayed and I've had to wait 10-15 minutes past the pick up time. I understand it's busy but maybe the pick up suggestions need to be padded a bit more
