Best Bagel & Coffee

Everyone says it, but it needs to be said again anyways. The bagel sandwiches are huge. I say this as a large man. Share! They are loaded with delicious goodness and overflowing with cream cheese. There isn’t a lot of space inside so on a weekend I wouldn’t expect a table because there’s only maybe 8 of them. Food was piping hot and fresh, and DELICIOUS! This is THE bagel spot I’d recommend to anyone visiting Manhattan. It’s not too far from everything but somehow just far enough away for some quiet.

Absolutely amazing little bagel shop. The bacon was crispy. The bagels were literally perfect. Staff was even nice. This is what you look for when you’re looking for a good bagel in the morning. Not a lot of place to sit, but there is some I would choose this place over the four or five other places with him 100 feet of it.

I hate bagels but wanted to try a good NY bagel. Sunday at 10am had a line that moved quick. Ordered in a few minutes- I didn’t have time to review the entire menu. Then waited about 5-7mins and my number was called. Wife enjoyed her Everything w/Cream Cheese. I ate half a toasted Plain Sausage, Egg n Cheese and had a bite outta a plain cream cheese. Not for me. But service and quality was good and everyone else was enjoying it.

Was planning to go to Liberty Bagels but went here instead because the line was too long. There was a line, but we ordered and got our food in about ten minutes. This was THE BEST bagel I’ve ever had. I got a BEC with the honey siracha cream cheese and my brother got the Hungry Stack. Both were SO GOOD, the bagel was hot and fresh and everything tasted delicious. I’m so glad we went here instead 10/10 would recommend!!

When you come to New York, this is a great place for bagels! The ordering process is as smooth as the numerous amounts of differently style cream cheese they offer. Our only issue we encountered was mainly with the online ordering system. It did not allow for us to make any modifications to our orders prior to purchasing. Upon arrival, we ordered food to eat in house while we were picking our online orders up. We asked about modifications seeing as how the system did not allow for it. They said they couldn’t change the bagel choices once they were bagged. Furthermore, we asked that our bagels not be sliced in half. The entire dozen were sliced in half. This was our first impression of Best Bagels and while the system may not be perfect, it’s definitely somewhere we’d come back to. And you should too!

Best Bagel is one of most famous store among Koreans. However, when I enter the store, crowded with people from all over the world 🇺🇸 The female staff who got my order was kind but looks exhausted bout work 🥲 I do understand her right away cause customers never stopped after me. Every staffs were friendly in general. My order was Everything bagel+smoked salmon+plain creme cheese which one is the Best 🥯 Highly recommended it!

I always heard that NY bagels are a must try and that they are the best. Last time I was in NY, I left disappointed w/ the bagel places we tried. Well Best Bagel changed my opinion. I ordered a plain toasted w/ sundried tomato spread and a plain reuben. The reuben wasn't bad and I really liked the sundried spread, but the hit was the bagel. This is what I expected from the hype about NY bagels. I think this is what people were talking about. For me it was the consistency of the bagel, not to airy or doughy. It was the right consistency without having to work to enjoy an almost perfect bagel.

Very busy Bagel shop, but efficient line up and made quickly. Ordered their lox bagel, and took only 5 minutes to get it despite being busy. Shockingly the thing had to have weighed 2lbs. Tons of lox, cream cheese and a nice soft bagel. Delicious! Minimal places to sit but that’s to be expected.

Just amazing. Lox cream cheese is a must but I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order.

Glad to be back in NY this week, home of my beloved bagel maker! I've eaten here 3 days in a row, and will again tomorrow before I fly home (and take 2 dozen with me). How is this not an endorsement?!?!? A toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, smoked salmon, and red onion is what starting my day off right is all about!

This bagel sandwich was good. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel, add Chipotle cream cheese. My biggest qualm is that the bagel was died bright green which I was unaware of and ultimately didn't sit well with my stomach. I've had plenty of jalapeño cheddar bagels and none of have ever been filled with green food coloring. The bagel itself was very dense and didn't have much of a jalapeño flavor or any heat. The ingredients inside were good. We ordered ahead of time for Pick Up and it was conveniently ready when we got there. We were able to nap a table to sit at too to eat it fresh. Plenty of seating/standing options.

Yum! The bagel was soft, chewy, and crispy! The wait wasn't unbearable. But do carve sometime out if you decide to go during rush hour. I do wish the egg itself had more flavor, maybe a huge handful more of seasoning. Other than that, I loved the bagel texture!

Amazing, Delicious, incredible! Had a late start to our day and came to grab bagels later than we planned but so stoked we still stopped! Definitely the best bagels my wife and I have ever had. I couldn't tell you what makes them so great but that that means you have to stop by yourself. Everyone working is awesome and willing to give their opinions when asked. There is a little space to sit that will fill quickly so you may have to take it to go.

Came here right after getting a bagel from Liberty bagels so I could compare the bagels one right after another, and there was a clear difference. I got a sausage and egg bagel with scallion cream cheese on an everything bagel, and the bagel here was definitely a lot less fluffy and chewy, and a bit more hard and dense. Bagel itself was much smaller, and it was also not seasoned sufficiently! For the inside, the egg was cooked well, but since they spread the cream cheese on first, the cream cheese also melted and it ended up becoming quite messy. The sausage tasted like a sausage patty you pop in the microwave. Last and most importantly, I asked for the scallion cream cheese.... and I got the regular cream cheese in my bagel! So that was a little disappointing... If you are deciding between here vs Liberty, head to Liberty across the street!

The wait for the bagel was long but went quick. I feel like they might expect you to know what you want, so maybe figure out the menu ahead of time or have a general idea of what you might want to eat. I fumbled ordering the type of cream cheese I wanted for my everything bagel (toasted), but I'm happy with my choice. Everything bagel. Scallion cream cheese. They are generous with the cream cheese (as I feel most NY bagel places are), so I found it falling off the bagel as I ate (which is fine because I didn't need that much anyway). Solid flavor, not overpowering scallion. Bagel wasn't crazy coated in "everything" but I didn't enjoy that it had good flavor as well, and you could taste that it had salt (but again not overpowering). The mine never let down, but I'd say I was probably in and out (having eaten my bagel) in 30 minutes or so. Not much room to sit. If you're willing to stand you'll be able to eat here on a Saturday. I'd definitely return for either the same thing or something else...

We originally planned to go to Liberty Bagels, but the line was insanely long and we were on a time crunch, so we decided to try Best Bagels across the street. They also had a line, but a slightly shorter one. I'm so glad we made the switch because their bagels were GOOD. I got the lox on a garlic bagel with chive cream cheese and honestly, it was the best bagel I've ever had. New York bagels, I get the hype now! I always thought bagels were tough and dry, but the bagels were were soft with a perfectly chewy interior. Paired with lox and tonsss of cream cheese, it was absolute perfection. My boyfriend had the egg and sausage sandwich on a jalapeño bagel, which had the same amazing texture, but I'd still recommend trying one of the bagels that has cream cheese. I also loved the variety of bagels and cream cheeses they offered; I wish I could've tried more than one! The line was still pretty long on a late Saturday morning and it took some time to get our bagels after ordering, but it was worth every second of the wait!

During the holidays I walked over to Best Bagel from my hotel. During the short walk I passed Liberty Bagel which had a line out the door. Luckily, Best wasn't as busy. There was a line, but it went really quickly. Almost too quickly. I had to speed read through their menu, but just opted for a plain toasted bagel with cream cheese. Service was pretty fast, maybe a ten minute wait after ordering. The interior is small and all seats were taken so I had to take the food to go. The bagel was fantastic, better than any bagel I've had before with its crisp, crackley exterior and chewy interior. Best bagel was well worth the visit and lived up to all the hype you hear about New York bagels.

These might be the best NYC bagels we've had in a long time. The bagel was soft and chewy on the inside and served pipping hot. The menu offered plenty of options, including sandwiches and other paninis but I specifically was looking for bagels. There is some seating available but it was a pretty busy shop so expect to stand and eat or take it to go. In the heart of the garment district, not too far from Macy's and the shopping off of 5th Avenue. I paid in Cash and they gave me a slight discount otherwise card & Apple Pay is accepted. Will def be coming back next time we're in the city.

We couldn't leave NYC without trying the famous bagels. The place we wanted to go had a massive line out, even for a Monday morning. It was rainy and cold, so we walked further down and found Best Bagel. There was a shorter line out the door so we decided to try it. The line moved fast but it was really crowded inside. There was not much room to wait for our order. It wasn't much of a wait for our food after we paid. I ordered jalapeno cheddar bagel with chipotle cream cheese. This bagel was HUGE! And packed with cream cheese. It definitely tasted fresh and the flavours were exactly as expected. I still enjoy Montreal bagels more (just because I love the hint of sweetness). This is still a solid spot though to try NY bagels without having to suffer in a long lineup.

Let's be honest, this bagel shop has earned its name of "best" bagel and coffee! While visiting NYC and trying local bagels, we saw online that this place was a go-to and highly recommend by many locals and tourists, so had to give it a try! These were by far our favorite bagels we tried in NYC! The bagels here are super fresh, soft and fluffy; and the cream cheese is very fresh and flavorful! We came back to this spot a few mornings in a row because we couldn't get over how yummy the bagels were! Be advised that there is always quite a long line, and it can take a while so come with some patience and jacket (as the line wraps around outside)! :) Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for DELICIOUS bagels in NYC!! It is a big winner in my book!

Very good and they were fast even tho how busy they were would definitely come again. If you can get a seat that's great but there just weren't enough for how popular thy are.

At 12pm on a Tuesday, there was no wait. Went straight to the cashier, and it was maybe 15 min for the bagel as there was a crowd waiting on their order. Was able to snag a table too. Got the smoked salmon $15 and added on the rainbow bagel and avocado. Had it with garlic cream cheese. Gets messy real fast but easily splittable and tasty. Rainbow bagel didn't taste any different but it was aesthetic lol. Avocado was minimal. Prob wouldn't get the addons again, but the smoked salmon was yummy.

I was in town visiting and obviously, had to get bagels. I heard good things about Best Bagel, and it was on the way to Hudsons Yards so we decided to stop by. The inside was PACKED, there was a line to order and a wait to pick up your bagel. Surprisingly, they are efficient as heck. The whole process of waiting in line, ordering your bagel, and then picking it up at the pickup window took maybe 10 mins max? I ordered a scallion cream cheese with egg breakfast bagel and it did not disappoint. It was delicious and even my fiancé who doesn't like cream cheese said it was good!

When visiting New York, you almost definitely need to have their well known bagels. Especially for breakfast. Approaching this well known establishment in the morning, you will see a line going out the door. I do give them credit for making sure to keep a pretty impressive momentum to get everyone's order out in a timely manner. With that said, the line does move and don't let it discourage your visit. Now when it comes to their seating, there were limited tables inside, so be prepared to scout someone who is about to leave to snag a table. There are about 3 bar height tables outside where you can stand and enjoy your bagel. Their breakfast bagel sandwiches are delicious. The bagel itself was so warm and fluffy and easy to bite into. I would definitely go back again if I ever find myself back in New York.

I so enjoyed the BEC from here! This is one of my go-tos and I ordered delivery last week. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a jalapeno everything bagel. I added extra cheddar cheese and grilled onions. I was taken off guard by the color of the bagel! I get that it is jalapeno, but I think the green food dye is a little much. I also felt like the jalapeno flavor could have been stronger, especially since this is a specialty bagel with an upcharge. The sandwich definitely needed salt and pepper, but once I added it, it was delish! I really enjoyed the sandwich and would get it on a regular everything bagel next time.

This place had been on my list for a while, and I'm glad to have finally tried it out. I got the Tuscan Chicken, which was perfectly done on a great bagel. I also got a delicious iced coffee, too. The line and overall environment is very chaotic, and takes a long time (between 45 minutes and an hour end-to-end). But if you're able to plan around it, I'd say it's worth it!

Best Bagel & Coffee lives up to its name! The name doesn't lie! Boy was I mind blown at how GREAT these bagels are! I've never had a bagel that tasted so good! They have the fresh bagels and when they toast it- oh my gosh! It's perfectly toasted so the outer edge has a bit of a crunch to it, and the inside is firm and warm. And don't get me started on all the spreads! They have so many different options for your bagel. I went with the cinnamon raisin with walnuts cream cheese. It was divine!!!!!! Literally, the best bagel I have had in my life. My husband did a plain bagel with blueberry cream cheese. He loved his and said the same. Again, lives up to the hype and has earned that name of best bagel & coffee!

You see that long line and you start to think, "Man! This place is probably fanastic!!!"... AND then... it's not AT ALL WORTH the wait. Start with the positive: the long line moves along at a fair pace. Ambiance is super chaotic and packed. 2 cashiers for that long line and then a separate cashier for coffee and pastries. Line goes out the door. There are maybe 6 small 2 seater tables where you can actually sit and few others for you to stand. Ordered a egg, bacon, cheddar on a plain and my hubby ordered a protein bagel with a croissant, vanilla latte, and iced mango tea. FIRST STRIKE: THEY FORGOT TO PACK MY CROISSANT! Strike 2- they put kraft crappy cheese in my bagel... what ever it was- wasn't cheddar Strike 3- jalapeño bagel didn't taste like jalapeño but it sure as heck was colored green Strike 4- vanilla latte didn't not taste like vanilla and my mango tea tasted like a JUMEX mango juice (iykyk). Would I come here again- absolutely not.

Best Bagel is quite popular so there were tons of people waiting to be served. However, they have extremely efficient service; I was in and out in about ten minutes. There is a limited amount of seating inside, so be prepared to grab and go. There was a large selection of sandwich options, all which sounded very appetizing. I stuck with the basics and got an everything bagel with egg, bacon, and cheese and a coffee. It was quiet good, with the right ratio of cheese/egg/bacon. Coffee was underwhelming.

Ok- this review is a long time coming, but I still think about the darn bagels from this place at least once a week! I am someone of a bagel snob when in NYC, and the name "Best Bagels" really needed to live up to it's standard. Spoiler alert: it did. The line was out the door when we walked up, which I felt like was a good sign of what was to come. Although there were a ton of people, they were cranking out bagels quickly! There were plenty of bagel options and I opted for a sesame bagel with smoked salmon, tomatoes and chive cream cheese. OMG. Seriously the best bagel I've ever had. It was huge, packed with my choice toppings, and delicious. I think I need to make an NYC trip again soon just to visit this place and get my bagel cravings in order :)

Tried this bagel place while we were in town. I thought it was pretty good but my husband was not too enthused. Solid bagel with a good chew. I enjoyed my BEC on an everything bagel. I'd say it's a decent option if you are in the area but by no means is it the best in town.

This bagel spot has become one of my favorites so far in Manhattan. I been coming here for a month now. I usually get the hungry stack sandwich. It's egg, bacon, sausage, cheese and hashbrown. I prefer it on a toasted everything bagel with butter. I only have come here for breakfast so far. But they do have alot of sandwiches to choose from for lunch. I'll have to drop in and try some more. They have some seating inside but not much. The service is pretty fast too and friendly here. You place an order, take your ticket number and stand by the pick up counter. I recommend coming here.

Found this place while visiting NY.. it was a long ass line and you're being rushed to order. So tip before you go here, read their menu and choose what you want before hand. Food was mediocre imo. It's cool that the bagels have been reinvented. Our bagels were massive, but hard & cold.

Delicious bagel as always!!! My go to bagel place every time I am in NYC! They have also have good coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Wow the amount of lox they put is awesome!! I got an everything with lox and tomato, and sadly they forgot the tomato :( But the rest of the bagel was great, and the line was shorter and than liberty bagels nearby! The hard part was that the menu was kind of hard to understand if you wanted to make your own bagel, and I just ordered randomly and it came out to $18!!

Such a great place to grab a bagel and a coffee! The line moves pretty quick and the service is great! Cool fast paced environment and classic NYC ambiance! The bagels are so good, you couldn't really ask for anything else! Definitely a MUST try even if there is a wait!

Definitely going to miss NY had the smoked salmon never have I had such a hugely packed breakfast it was amazing and for the price it can't be beat probably going to stop In again tomorrow before heading home

I've been wanting to try this spot for a long long time and finally did this past week. We came in early on a Wednesday and the line was already starting to build up. It's a pretty traditional deal in terms of the menu, but the bagel and cream cheese were amazing! I'd definitely consider this a top choice in nyc!

I thought the food was good, but my group thought it was ok and definitely overpriced. We went around 10am on a Friday and the line was still out the door! It was our first time and came here because of the reviews. They had a large variety of options, especially bagels! And coffee! Our order: - bacon, egg, cheese sandwich on jalapeño cheddar bagel - second bacon, egg cheese on a multigrain bagel - Texas beef bagel sandwich - egg sausage and cheese sandwich on jalapeño cheddar bagel - power breakfast sandwich - And five different coffee drinks Customer service turned us off - the person who took our order rushed us and when we wanted to add something to our order she said she "already printed it" and wouldn't let us place a second order.

One of the best bagels in the city. First of all the service was BLAZING fast. Like wow. Ordered quick and the customer service for getting our bagels was fast as lightning! The bagel was delicious. We got an everything bagel & classic lox, cream cheese & capers. Also got a yummy cinnamon raisin with butter. Overall a great bagel!

I think this is the best bagel in the city. They are really busy and there's a reason. We ate here twice on our last trip . It's a great breakfast option

This was one of my favorite bagel places in New York. The line moved fast and ordering seemed very streamlined. I appreciated that the staff offered suggestions when I looked probably overwhelmed. The bagel here was chewy and thicc and they have way too many options for a one time visit to have a comprehensive review. Their salmon, tomato, and cream cheese bagel on everything was nice and sets up for a good base expectation of a bagel.

The bagels here are fantastic! They're perfectly chewy, soft and fluffy, and delicious. There's really only one other spot in Manhattan that I can think of that has slightly better bagels. My go-to order is the toasted everything bagel with lox spread, tomato, and cucumber. My partner really enjoyed his bacon egg & cheese sandwich on everything bagel as well.

the name is no joke. Hands down, one of the best bagel sandwiches I've ever had. Never thought wasabi cream cheese would be good, but damn they did it 11/10 if I could

I got the everything seasoning bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese for breakfast one morning, it was delicious. Another time, I got the lox bagel (everything seasoning, scooped, lettuce, cucumbers, red onions, scallion cream cheese) for a quick lunch, it was not as good as people claimed it to be.

The bagel here was so good. I got the smoked salmon special sandwich, as is. It came with a mountain of food in it. It was huge! So much salmon and toppings. The cucumber was really nice n broke through the heaviness of the cream cheese too. It came with wasabi cream cheese, which I wanted to swap out but it was an extra charge to change so I didn't. Overall it tasted really good though. However, it was so pricey. I know I just said it was huge but still expensive to pay over $20 for a bagel sandwich and coffee. It's good on vacation but I wouldn't be here everyday. The place was also packed but the line moved really quickly and orders came out fast too.

NYC bagels never disappoint A busy bagel shop with a big selection! Well organized for those busy moments. Plenty of seating but sometimes there is a wait. Definitely try a couple of options as it's all really yummy

The service was efficient, in and out quickly. The place was clean, and the staff nice for early morning. The bagel sandwich was just lackluster. The everything bagel with avocado, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce was bland. The tomatoes had a weird taste. Not sure I would revisit this place again.

I'm not sure if this is the BEST bagel & coffee, but by golly it was the THICCEST I've ever taken in!! I think I went for the C1 which (I think) was the smoked salmon + wasabi + cream cheese on a plain toasted bagel. The ordering system is interesting here - you first go up to the bagel ordering queue to put in your bagel order, and they give you a receipt which you take to the main queue where you can add on drinks and non-bagel items to your order. So if you don't want bagels...just go to the main queue. Definitely not intuitive!! As expected, this place is in midtown and with a name with something to prove, there's always a line. The interior is decidedly no-frills and loud as a result of the hustle-bustle of bagel workers, tourists, and your order potentially being called out. People (like me) are always taking selfies in here. I assume this is to prove they have actually been to the Best Bagel & Coffee place. The bagel was absolutely massive and each half lasted me a breakfast. Would recommend if you're starving or just want a massive bagel! Was the quality the best? Heck no! As for the coffee... I got a cappuccino. It was not the best, but it wasn't bad.

Long line and very busy inside, but service is VERY QUICK. I got an egg&cheese with avocado, tomato and black pepper and it was good-not the great, just good. I felt that the eggs could have been left on the grill for a little longer. The bagel itself however is where the sandwich shined! I got a sesame bagel and it was very good. Soft and chewy on the inside, light crisp on the outside. I would recommend if you're looking for a decent bagel shop with fast service.

Somehow I paid $20 for a bagel with salmon and cream cheese... I'm not sure if I ordered wrong or they took advantage of me being a tourist and overcharged me, but I feel like I overpaid. On the other hand, the bagel itself is huge. It lasted me two meals. My mouth doesn't open wide enough to take a full bite. They packed so much salmon in there- half a typical pack from the grocery store if I had to guess. But I couldn't differentiate the scallion cream cheese and it was so messy to eat. Maybe I would return for a plain or egg and cheese, but I have a hunch locals don't come here often- there's likely a lot of more lowkey spots in this city.

I have never tried a lox bagel before and I am so glad I tried it at this bagel shop!!! The pictures on yelp really sold me. I recommend ordering ahead to avoid the lines and wait. When I opened the bagel, it was LOADED with salmon. The bagel itself had a nice crisp on the outside but it was still soft on the inside. I think the onions added a nice freshness to it and I wish there was more onions. I DO think the lox bagel did get a bit salty towards the end BUT it was it still good. Would definitely get again!!

Just an average sausage egg and cheeese :) very cheeses which I like. Bagel took kinda a long time but it was morning and they were very busy so that is understandable. Staff was so nice and you could tell they were working really hard. Look at all the cream cheeses

Fair pricing, fast service and tasty food! We stayed across the street at the renaissance for 3 nights and had Best Bagel every morning. I enjoyed my vanilla cappuccino and we both ordered the everything bagel with egg cheese and bacon both days. The second day I added jalapeño cream cheese. Unless you love cream cheese, have it added to the side because they added an absurd amount lol. But it was definitely the freshest and most tasty bagel I've had in a long time. Try to get there before 930 otherwise the line will be out the door. Enjoy!

One of my favorite bagel shops in NY. I've been a million times but always forget to review. The bagels are not overly chewy and not too hard, they are just right. I always get bagel and lox add cucumbers and capers. Salmon always fresh. This is a grab and go spot. There are a few tables but be prepared for a wait if you're needing a table. Grab some extra napkins and a bag to sit your food on as no one is cleaning the tables in between customers. I'll always be back when I'm in NYC
