The tri tip was very good not fatty, not dry, not thin, it was just right. I got the 1/2 spicy bbq sauce which was a good level for me and just helped out the tri tip without overpowering it. The potato salad was solid and worked well to calm the spice down from the bbq sauce. I was in and out in about 4 minutes even though there was multiple orders going out, very efficient.

This place is always packed at lunch, which means the food is good! I ordered a tritip and chicken veggie bowl from their website for pickup and I was able to walk in, pick it up immediately, and walk out. No line or waiting like the others who arrived before me. Food was delicious! Their mild bbq sauce is so good and everything was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be making this a regular lunch spot!

I have now been to Best twice and it doesn't disappoint. Food portions are generous and really good.

We love coming to Best BBQ when in the Santa Paula area. They are always very consistent and the food comes out the same every time - delicious. The meat is being cooked right there in front of you and the bbq sauce is super spicy and tasty. We get the bowl with rice, beans, veggies and tri-tip/chicken.

My go-to is the tri-tip, chicken and hot link bowl!! The staff is friendly and welcoming, service is always great! The food, is SO flavorful and tender! The portions are good, there is just the right amount of each item, and their BBQ sauce is my absolute favorite, sometimes I stop by just for the sauce! If you are going to Santa Paula, stop by here to grab a bite to eat, and even if you're not in the area, make the trip out, it is worth the trip, and don't forget to grab dessert, their cheesecake is perfection!!

First time trying this place and it was pretty good! I think you have to dine in at this place to get the full experience and freshness. The drive back home was about 30 mins. Food was pretty good still! Portions are great! I got a tritip dinner with hot links and macaroni as the side. It was delicious! The mild sauce was flavorful with a slight hint of heat. The hot sauce was just burn your mouth spicy. I got baked beans but maybe I should've done the chili beans. My fault for not knowing the difference lol. I dont like sweet beans in general. Overall service was super fast and friendly. Would definitely come back sometime to dine in!

the food here is very consistent I really like their version of the chicken breast sandwich with hot bbq sauce.the chili beans are a must and the potato salad rounds this meal out well. this spot is small and not easy to get seating were it to have better parking and more table space I'd eat here weekly. the service is good they make your meal to order and they keep a great pace . as for ambiance it's basically a BBQ stand and totally fits expectation

My husband loves this place so much! It's a must every time we drive through Santa Paula. Our go tos are the Tri tip sandwich & kids bowl. The service is fast even when they are super busy. I've heard this place compares to Buster's in Ventura, but there's nothing similar about them. Their secret is IN THE SAUCE

If you love, tender, and tasty barbecue, don't go here. It is dry and tough, which is really unusual not used to this at all. Plus the sides are not that great. The beans are watery and the barbecue sauce is flavorless! Very disappointing experience!

This BBQ place is great. The links, chicken, and tri -tip are flavorful and moist. The ribs also have great flavor but tend to be alittle on the tough side, not fall off the bone but still good. The sides are all standard and good quality. Prices are fair. Would recommend coming.

My husband and I came here while we're in town. We have tried the Santa Barbara location and we had enjoyed it. We wanted to give us a try as well. Customer service is outstanding. Food was great and plenty considering it was one plate for two people. The beans were great. The pasta salad was great, with the potato salad was OK however, the meat and bread were great. I would definitely return and recommended to others

Best BBQ in Santa Paula sits on Harvard just between 8th and 10th streets. You can't miss the smell of the roasting meats! The shop is a basic, no frills kind of place. Rough tables for eating in, although most of the meals are taken out. If you want great bbq meals and don't have time to do it yourself, come to Best BBQ. The staff are friendly, efficient, and professional. The meals are big enough for 2. Value, deliciousness, and quick service. Call in your order 15 minutes before you arrive, and you're in and out in 5 minutes. Truly a BBQ lover's dream.

This is a delicious hole in the wall bbq restaurant. It is worth the drive to Santa Paula because it's very unique and has a special spicy and hot bbq sauce. Venue: This restaurant has a parking lot and is nearby a major road. Parking spaces are a little tight, but works for small sedans. When you park, you will be drawn to its smokey smell. There is also plenty of seating inside. Service: This is a casual and blue collar restaurant. Don't expect hospitality and grandeur. It's a bbq joint with counter service. Review the menu before you get in line to order so you don't hold up the line. Food: The sauce is hot and tasty. The tri tip was good and not dry. The pork rib was a little dry and the beef rib was okay. Both ribs needed the sauce to make it better. The sides are average at best, so you can skip it if you just want to have the meats. Their soda fountain is self serve, which is nice if you are eating a lot of spicy food. Overall, this is a good bbq joint. The continue to hold their own with their special bbq sauce. The quality of food is similar or just below Buster's bbq in Ventura. But their prices are also lower here. Definitely come here if you are in Santa Paula.

I had to come by and try the BBQ here since it's related to a previous restaurant that shut down called Just BBQ! I'm originally from Oxnard so last time I visited I made it a priority to come by even if it's a drive. Upon arriving parking wasn't a hassle, but a lot of people are coming in and out of the restaurant so maybe ordering ahead of time is something I'll do in the future. Inside the restaurant is a bit toasty and the dining area is a bit small, but outside seating is also available. The smells are overwhelmingly delicious. I went with my go to order which was the Tri Tip sandwich combo which comes with a side, in my case I got the macaroni. Drink is not included; I added a sausage link and I got myself extra bbq sauce on the side because I'm a saucy guy! The portions are generous!! The tri tip was cooked perfectly and so delicious. Although the sauce does not taste exactly as what I remember it to be, it did have a stronger hint of cinnamon to it, STILL good though! I definitely recommend

This was my third time coming here. My prior two visits were great and I couldn't wait to come back. My previous times here the meats were tender and had a smoky flavor. This time the meats were flavorless and the BBQ sauce was runny. The service and people were friendly, thus the three stars. Why the inconsistency in the way the food is prepared?

My family visited here a few years ago and today we took friends since we were in the area, it smells so good, the staff is friendly and efficient, you can order online and it is available in a timely manner and everything is delicious! The tri tip and chicken bowls are really good (rice, meat, beans, sauce on the side) and one was plenty for an adult and child. The kids portion was for a lite eating kid, but it was only $7 and included a drink. The tri tip was cooked through, no pink in the middle. The veggies are traditional steamed veggies, they are nicely done with keeping their good crunch. Friends tried all the sides and enjoyed them all, said you couldn't go wrong with any of them. The parking lot is always packed and a little tricky to get in and out of so I suggest finding street parking. Also their inside tables are always packed and the food was great to go. The sauce is VERY good! The mild is spicy, you can get half and half... be aware it is pre mixed together and is very spicy! Make sure you get the sauce though, it totally makes the meal!

First of all - YES! As you read this review, I need you to be walking to your car so you can get to Best BBQ as quick as possible...safely. Based off appearances, it's a hole in the wall that I normally wouldn't think twice about going to. It's has a house turned business vibe, parking is very limited, and it's right off of a busy highway / Main Street. HOWEVER - it's WORTH IT! The smell of the BBQ is what first enticed me and as I walked up, I was thinking "nose don't fail me now" and it did not! I ordered the hot links and tritip for me and then placed 2 additional orders for my family. Which was a chicken and tritip bowl with rice and beans and then another 2 meat combo this time with beef ribs. NEITHER PLATE DISAPPOINTED!!! It was SO good, so flavorful, and the meat was so juicy! Just so there's no confusion their side "salads" are actually macaroni salad, potato salad, and cole slaw - I got all three for review purposes and still YUM! Like everything about their food is YUM! I should've known from the long line it had when I arrived AND as I waited. The place is worth it , don't let the outside deter you - let your nose guide you and make your taste buds happy! OH !!!! The hot bbq sauce is HOOOOOT! I ordered a mix of their hot and mild and that hot is STILL seeping through, so be careful. Okay - hopefully you're there now and able to attest to this review. ENJOY!

I came into this place early, about 10:45 on a Wednesday. I wanted to get a big plate that I could eat off of twice. I did opt for the three meat combo with tri tip, hot link, and chicken. Sides chosen were macaroni salad and potato salad. The big plate also came with some really good bread and chili beans. So the hot link had no heat, it seemed like some type of sausage, but I did eat it, as it was ok. The chicken was decent, and it was eaten as well. But the gray tri tip that had NO MOISTURE was not eaten. There is no way that beef was fresh, I do not think you could dry it out like that only cooking it once. Anyhow it looked sad and expensive in the trashcan at my room. Was not fit to eat. The beans were good and the two salads were very good, just tiny servings. The food was also accompanied by some excellent sauce. I may have caught this place at a bad time. But the food was almost $30, and it was not worth it.

Have you ever had a happy tear or happy tears about food? I was sitting across from hubby who loves tri tip, cooking tri tip in many ways, and he loves to eat... just like me. When he took a bite from his tri tip sandwich, he said, "This is the BEST!!" And yes, I saw a happy tear. The way his face looked, it was just so sweet. In case you know my hubby, I am going to give him plausible deniability. He may not want to tell you about the happy tear. He just might respond, It was smoky as we sat on the outside patio. She really didn't see clearly. Back to the food! Hubby ordered the tri-tip sandwich. It came with a tri-tip sandwich (duh), choice of sauce, and choice of beans. He chose the spicy sauce and chili beans. Hubby is a spicy guy. He said, and I was actually surprised, "This is really spicy!!" Say What??? Hubby then got the regular bbq sauce & mixed it with the spicy to make a medium spice. Hubby almost always says, They call this spicy?? And yet... Best BBQ delivered on the spice. Hubby's best comment & when he was having the alleged happy tear with the sweet face was, This is how it should be done! Tri tip sandwiches do not need all of the extras like mayonnaise, etc. This is the perfect sandwich. The tri-tip is tender, tastes .. AMAZING, and the bread is grilled to perfection. Maybe they should rename their restaurant, Perfect BBQ? I had the combo meal which is the meal that keeps on giving. I had leftovers!!!! Hell to the yeah! The combo is two meats (I chose tri-tip & chicken), mild BBQ sauce, 2 small sides (I chose potato salad), a soda, and I chose the baked beans. I loved every single bite of everything. I loved the BBQ sauce so much that I dipped my wheat thins in the container to scrape out what was left. Then... I used my finger. Yummy yummy in my tummy! If you have very small kids, I would like the theme song of this review to be, There's a party in my tummy. (So yummy) by Yo Gabba Gabba! We will absolutely be back. Honestly, I would like to go back today. It is worth the drive from Ventura. So worth it. P.S. The service was great too. P.P.S. I loved hubby watching the men cook the meats. He looked like a kid watching a movie star. So cute.

We've been looking for some good local BBQ and Best BBQ did not disappoint! The tri tip was lean and delicious. The bread was great and I loved the macaroni salad. We will definitely be back!!

I haven't BBQ in years! I've been finding good spots thru the Yelp events and I always save my appetite. Parking is a little tight, but at least the restaurant has a lot of seating inside especially outside near the grill. That's pretty cool that you can see them grilling while you're eating. The customer service was awesome! It was busy when I ordered, but the staff was able to take my order pretty quickly! The food smelled so good (aside from my yelp event meal) that I ended up ordering the family meal combo number 1 (togo) which came with beef ribs, pork ribs, sausages, chicken, and a few sides to go along with it. All so tender, and did not disappoint. Oh, don't forget about the sauces, the regular and spicy! I'm so glad they gave us large sides of the sauce with a big order. All in all, the food was delicious! I'm glad I added the family meal to get a little bit of everything. The staff and the owner (I think that was him in the front) was helpful and so nice! If you love barbecue you have to go to Best BBQ in Santa Paula. They serve TriTip, chicken, pork ribs, beef ribs and hot links. Along with chili beans and buttery French bread. The TriTip is especially tender. The chicken is super delicious. All the meats are barbecued just outside over hot coals. The macaroni salad is my favorite. Free soft drink refills. They have plenty of seating and a large television in the main dining area. Service is very friendly. I will definitely return again and again. Buen Provecho.

My favorite bbq place, I come here very often! Love the Tri-Tip and hot link bowl, I get it with rice and veggies. I also love their spicy bbq sauce and add it onto my side of chili beans. The garlic bread is very good as well. Great service, 10/10 recommend.

I was expecting more from this place, portions small on the tri tip dinner beans were good slaw was good bread was super good. Onto the meat dry over cooked and chewy almost like i was chewing on leather! Super disappointed in this!

Meat was really tough to chew. Food was not worth the price. Hard to describe and easier to compare, so if you've tried food at Wood Ranch, the food I got at Best BBQ cannot come close compared to the price, taste and quality of Wood Ranch.

Best BBQ is really really good BBQ. And we all know the 805 is slim pickings for stellar BBQ so I'm genuinely happy to have stumbled upon this business thanks to a friend. I will say Best BBQ seems to be a fan favorite amongst the locals because dang this place gets packed and produces a line! Very small shop with some outdoor tables and a few inside. You order at the counter and then wait for your order to be called out. I sensed that most people get their food to go. While we were waiting about 80% we're walking away with a bag. The staff here seem to work really hard. They have a system in place and everyone keeps it moving. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and my order was placed correctly, no issues. While I've heard their sandwiches are good I opted for the meat bbq bowl. Wow So Good! I wanted to live my best life & did a three meat combo of steak, chicken, and hot links. The meats are on top of a bed of rice and beans plus as much bbq sauce as you can stand. Their bbq sauce is a little more on the sweet and tangy side for me but I did find it really tasty. Next time I'll opt to add avocado and it would be pure perfection. If your in town and crazy some delicious BBQ this is your spot to come!

Rode here for a nostalgia meal from Foster's, but when I smelled the grill here, I changed my mind. Glad I did. Got the tri-tip and sausage with beans and Cole slaw. The proteins were amazing. Tritip was lean and tender. Great flavor. The sausage was also really good. I ordered the spicy sauce and it was actually a bit hot. Very good all together. The sides aren't much to celebrate. I think the slaw was made elsewhere. The beans weren't too flavorful. You didn't pull in because of the smell of coleslaw in the first place, so yeah.

I went to Best BBQ for the Yelp Elite event tonight. They definitely had a crowd! Employees were very nice and our order came out in a timely manner... considering the crowd. They have a good flow of people! The food was really good! Potato salad, sweet bbq beans, and the tri-tip was my favorite. The meat wasn't dry, it was cooked perfectly... the sauce was great, the whole meal had a very " family bbq out in the backyard" taste and vibe to it. The only complaints I have is the chicken breast. It is thin cut. so it was very thin. Too thin. It was getting pretty overwhelming with all the noise, plus they had a big screen tv on with its volume up. Nobody could hear it - due to the large crowd... its a very small area. So it just added to the noise level. It was so loud that we decided to get our food to go. It's clear they are very popular in Santa Paula, and for a business that's a very good thing!! I would definitely return, just wouldn't get the chicken breast. But the Tri-tip definitely!

Meat was juicy and not dry or over cooked. The veggies and white rice were a good ratio to the meat portion. The sauce that comes with it compliments the meat well, it doesn't take away from the meat flavors.

First off the bathroom is filthy like a park bathroom that has junkies using it. Then the guy taking everyone's dirty money then goes and touches the food. Me and my family all had stomachaches immediately after eating. So basically in n out it all went, basically wasted my money

Employees are friendly and kind. Unfortunately, I find their BBQ dry, unflavorful, and not that good. I needed a lot of sauce to mask the inadequacies of the meats. That's a primary indication that the BBQ isn't that good. Pork ribs were so dry and tough. Baked beans was soupy, lots of liquid. Seemed like a bean soup to me. Tender beans, and flavor was good. Bread was dry, dry, dry. Better if they gave some butter. Macaroni salad tasted homemade, but not the potato salad. Finally, the BBQ sauce. Too much vinegar, sour, but not tangy. Seemed like a poor imitation of a South Carolina kind of BBQ sauce. I'm disappointed and will probably never return.

Delicious baby back ribs. They are very meaty and you get a lot with your order. I do not care for the toast - the slice is too large. My husband loves their beans.

Great little place, nice people working there, had tri tip and it was cooked perfectly, but the quality was lacking a bit. But the sause, oh the sause, is one of a kind, brought home what I didn't use.

This is great place for BBQ. I stopped in and had the tri tip. Wow it was great and the owner knows how to BBQ. Everything is homemade and you can tell he really cares about the food he is putting out. The price is really good for BBQ also. The sides and home made potato chips are wonderful.

MUST TRY. The food was so delicious. As soon as you walk in you can smell the amazing BBQ. The service was pleasant and there was an issue with our order and they fixed it right away, shows how ethical and honest they are. My kids whom normally don't eat a lot of meat ate it without having to beg them and they loved the sausage. If you come here- definitely try a bit of everything but the sausage was amazing. Will be coming back again soon!
