I absolutely love Best Bud/Home Ec! Their new shop is such a beautiful and harmonious blend of community and thoughtfully curated treasures. Everything in the space feels effortlessly cute from vintage pieces and a few clothing gems to GORGEOUS flowers and amazing kitchen and cooking goods. It’s the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel inspired. Kathleen, the owner of Best Bud, is incredibly talented and someone I’ve admired for a long time. I’m so happy to see her thriving in this beautiful new space right in the neighborhood. It truly feels like a reflection of her creativity and heart. Beyond just being a stunning shop, they also host incredible community events all the time, which I absolutely love. It’s more than a flower shop—it’s a space that brings people together. Keep doing what you’re doing, Best Bud team! So excited to see you shine in Kensington.

Kath made all of our dreams come true! She helped me bring my vision to life, and so much more for our wedding. She is truly the sweetest, and I had so much fun through the whole planning process with her--she is such an amazing artist!

great shop for unique flower arrangements and lovely, curated gifts. convenient, walkable location, or parking is usually ample on the overpass! dog and family friendly! addendum: I'm sad I can't write another 5 star review. We are still floating on cloud nine from our wedding day, and we can't thank Kath & the Best Bud team enough for making it absolutely magical! The florals were beyond our wildest dreams. Each table was so chic, my bouquet was an absolute dream, and the ceremony space was a total stunner with custom painted pedestals. The arrangements were lush, wild, and stunningly beautiful. The attention to detail and the artistry that went into each arrangement and every detail truly made our wedding feel one-of-a-kind and ultra special. Kath and her team absolutely nailed the design and execution of our vision. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Kathleen made my wedding day the flower field of my dreams! I came to her with a vague idea of what I wanted and gave her free creative liberty. And I am so glad I did, she is amazingly creative with floral design and used flowers from local San Diego farmers which made each stem even more precious to me. After the wedding we planted the flowers in my parents backyard so I can enjoy my wedding bouquet for years to come.

I absolutely love this charming little flower shop! It’s a locally owned gem with the freshest flowers. I also learned a lot of their product is grown and harvested locally ☺️. The staff is incredibly kind and knowledgeable, always helping me find whatever I need. Whether I need a last-minute bouquet or a custom floral design, they never disappoint. You can truly feel the love and care they put into their work. Highly recommend supporting this wonderful local business!

Always a wonderful experience. Everytime I walk in for flowers, the owner and her staff have me covered. Their arrangements really are a step up from anywhere else. They’re always really excited about your order and you can tell they love what they do. Cool vibe to the shop and I always feel welcome. If you want to really surprise your partner with flowers, or have a wedding display that everyone will always remember then best bud is the way to go.

Great little gift shop that has now teamed up with Home Ec in the same location in Kensington. Some unique gifts at both stores. In addition to flowers, they have candles, kitchen accessories, dish towels, books, chocolates, and an eclectic mix of other goods. Really enjoy browsing and finding unique gifts. Highly recommend checking them out.

I am head over heels in love with this flower shop. The shop is my go to for gifts and flowers for all occasions. The owner Kath is super helpful and a great conversationalist! If you're looking for a well curated gift or a florist for your massive wedding look no further!
