Worth Every Mile - A Biscuit Dream Come True!
Let me just start by saying this: driving 45 minutes from White Plains, MD was *totally* worth it! Honestly, I don't mind going the distance for great food--and this spot? Oh man, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I ordered the honey chicken, egg & cheese biscuit, and *oh my stars*, it was unreal. I even asked for a side of extra honey just for dipping the biscuit--and wow, it was like dipping clouds in sunshine. The biscuit itself? Massive. Like, imagine four McDonald's biscuits all stacked into one glorious beast of breakfast. No joke.
The chicken was perfectly fried--crispy on the outside, juicy and seasoned just right on the inside. My egg had that ideal touch of runny yolk (just enough gooeyness!) without being undercooked, and the cheese was melted into everything like it was holding the whole flavor party together. I couldn't even finish the thing--it was *that* big. But trust me, I tried.
My wife had the sausage, egg & cheese biscuit and immediately declared it the best biscuit she's *ever* had--and this woman has taken me to some top-tier breakfast joints in North Carolina. This place was right up there, maybe even better. Her sausage patty was cooked to perfection--none of that overcooked hockey puck nonsense some places serve--and the cheese and egg were melty magic all over again.
Our daughter went with a cheeseburger (just cheese and ketchup--she keeps it classic), and it looked like something off a commercial--cooked just right. She also tried the chicken salad, which was super fresh and generously portioned. No stingy scoops here!
We haven't tried the cupcakes yet (red velvet and vanilla frosted--we've got high hopes), but if the breakfast is any indication, I expect dessert heaven.
Even our Yorkiepoo got a treat! We picked up one of the doggie biscuits (not the human kind, obviously), and it was about a third her size. Watching her try to conquer it should be fun to see!
We rolled in around 10:45 on a Sunday, and while it wasn't packed, they were clearly staying busy with takeout orders. Still, the wait was super reasonable--about 15 minutes--and the staff was friendly, smiling, and on top of everything. Just good vibes all around. The space was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, and there's a cute little outdoor seating area with a nice view of the street. Plus, it's tucked right near an Aldi and a mall, so it's easy to find.
Bottom line: great food, fair prices, friendly people, and a biscuit that's basically a whole event. We'll definitely be back for the flavor, the chill vibe, and the joy of finding a new favorite breakfast spot. And as always, enjoy your bite!
