Best Burgers

No frills burger place. Very basic burger. Service a bit slow. The burger was a very basic burger. Typical frozen patties on a toasted bun. Bun bigger that the patties. Tables were dirty. Bathrooms were located outside behind a lock gate. Good price point but not enough to return.

I will say the young man working register gave good customer service. The food was not worth the cost. Patties were not fresh, was a frozen patty! How disgusting so thin, no flavor, fries were salty. False advertisement, definitely not BEST burger.

Terrible burgers and terrible service with attitude! Awful fries and awful fried pickles no ranch! Foe $30 go to a nice place with great tasting meal! First time won't be returning......

I order a chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon for pick up. If I would’ve known that the chicken patties are frozen process chicken patties I would’ve never have order it. Paying $12 for a frozen process chicken that I could just literally buy at the grocery store is not good for anyone. I return with a nice attitude just asking for a beef burger instead. They look at me like if I was stupid and told nothing is wrong with the chicken. I just don’t understand how someone who cooks burgers can not understand the difference between fresh and process food.

May have changed names from the original but still just as good. Oh and props to the lady working on her own. She rocks!

so we were traveling in San Antonio and we were in a store and an employee had his lunch and we misread the bag, and ended up here based on a google search. not very fancy in or out, but the burgers were juicy and each one is made fresh to order, not sitting under a lamp. With that being said, we did wait a little bit, almost left and asked for a refund, but glad we didn't. the burger was very favorful and loved the toasted bun. the fries were really good. so a little out of our way back to Fort Worth, but we enjoyed the burger. it seems to be a busy little hole in wall for the locals. So if you are ever in that side of town, stop by. It's worth the wait, if you're willing to wait

Friendly service. Burger was good. I didn't care for their fries because they're limp and undercooked. Shakes are ok. The place is cramped and there are few tables and they seem close together. I prefer Griff's up the street.

This place has been open on the south side of San Antonio for as long as I can remember. I recall ordering to go and eating burgers from here as far back as the early 90s. I hadn't been back in years but regularly passed by the location. I decided to stop by in for a late lunch one day when I was off from work during the week. Parking availability is not an issue when I visited around 2pm. The building and interior are nothing fancy. The service was fine, you order at the window outside or at the counter inside. Payment options are modern, I was able to pay with my American Express via their tablet point of sale. I ordered a chili cheese burger meal (fries and 12oz diet coke) and an order of chili cheese fries. Everything was made to order and came out nice and hot. The burger is loaded (full of vegetables, mayo, patty, and chili) and the fires were nice and warm with a fine crisp and soft inside. The bun was nice and toasted lightly. My favorite part was how the mayo, tomatoes, and chili went so well together. The chili in the burger and on the fries wasnt too salty or spicy. Cheese was nice and melted. Knocked off 1 star for the following: I was not asked if I was dining in or ordering take out. I had planned on dining in but received my order to go. I still ate inside which was small but clean. Also, the window AC unit and 2 ceiling fans made the dining area a little too cool for my comfort. Finally, I would have preferred a fountain drink but a 12oz can of soda was enough for my meal. Price was good! ~$15 with $2 tip.

Tried to place a order through phn at 4:20 p.m. but the new lady with no mask blonde hair and pink nails with no gloves that kept coughing and saying it was cold had turned off the phn

I usually go to Griffs Hamburgers, up the street from Best Burger so was not aware they existed, but read Best Burger write up in SA Express News and finally able to give them a try. The staff was very friendly and joked around. Had double cheeseburger and it was cheesy and beefy. But the fries .... they were hot and fresh! If they had only been a little more salty they would have been awesome!. I haven't experienced hot fries unless I've had them at home. I will be going back.

Nice little hole in the wall burger joint. Very small, but pretty tasty burgers. Good place for a quick bite at a good price

Went there for lunch and witnessed the cook not wearing a mask and not wearing gloes; sneeze into his hands then grabs a slice of cheese to put on a patty on the grill. I immediately stated: "I just saw you sneeze into your hands an touch a slice of cheese.!"... his reply was that he sneezed into his arm..."not true" I said, "I saw you sneeze in to your hands dude"... I advised the cashier person that I will not be placing my order or any order in the future. Be careful at this place. Hygiene non existant here. Yuck

Great burgers, great hot dogs food here is wonderful for the price you can't beat it, Would highly recommend it for home cooked burgers.

Burger restaurants are a dime a dozen in San Antonio, and there all about the same. Best Burger can be lumped in with this unassuming and vaguely interesting group of quick pick-up stops. We come here for the $9.99 special when we want a cheap dinner, but it isn't quick any means. We usually wait about 20 minutes for the burgers, which are freshly made when you order. Fresh is good, cheap is good, but the wait means we're rare visitors (and by rare I mean we live down the street and have only come twice this year.) The burgers are big and greasy, toppings are squished in there, and the meat patty is decent. Tastes like your Dad made them in the backyard, but he isn't a gourmet chef. Sometimes you just want though, you know? On the plus side, service is always decent and hard-working. It's not like they're not back there whipping up your orders! I wouldn't plan on dining in if I were you; there are only about 6 small tables and its a little warm with the kitchen grill so near the seating area. My Yelp rating system: 5 stars= Add this to your bucket list! 4 stars= I would recommend visiting. 3 stars= Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars= You might be able to drag me in. 1 star= I will definitely not be returning.

Sorry but just no good meat taste different than ever before can't place my finger on it

Best Burger is very dear to my heart. I grew up and still reside very near and this has always been a place to indulge in a greasy heap of burger goodness and other unhealthy fried fast food goodies. This place has remained unchanged since my childhood. Possibly a paint change a few years back but time has taken a toll on its outer appearance. Inside you'll find about five tables or so and a huge bench across the wall to wait for to go orders. Best Burger has always been known for its squeaky clean kitchen and don't remember it otherwise. All orders are started after you order. Fresh veggies and toasted buns fitted. Burgers are a bit sloppy but oh so good. If you're in a mood for a greasy homemade burger this would be my number one suggestion. Fries are all right in my book. The onion rings are what to get. Huge and crispy. They also have corn dogs and fried burritos which are all yummy. And everything is all so wallet friendly!

4 stars might be because I'm bias but Best Burgers reminds me of my childhood hood. Southside, represent! Wow, where did that come from? All jokes aside, this isn't the fanciest or most updated burger place and it's located deep on the southside of town but these burgers easily stand up against the almighty Whataburger. They are always juicy and flavorful with crispy, golden fries and something not a lot of places have... fried burritos! It's a tiny place with about 4 or 5 tables and a cute hand-drawn mural of the Texas countryside. Don't let the beat up appearance fool you. These ladies received a Blue Plate Award from WOAI News a few years back for having a spotless kitchen.

I used to eat here pretty often when I worked in the area so I was excited when I was driving by and they were open this late. Great burgers and super friendly staff. Highly recommend.

My family and I recently came to Best Burger after word of mouth from a family friend that they were the best burgers, but they weren't. I really do enjoy going to mom and pop restaurants because they actually do make the best food ever, but this one left me very sad. First off, it is self serve, you order at the front and they give you a number. The waitress was very nice and helpful. As far as cleanliness goes, the tables were very dirty and felt greasy. If you have to use the bathroom I would avoid going, this restaurant doesn't have a bathroom inside. You'll have to go to the back of the restaurant and use a key that the employee gives you. It's very dirty and smelly. When the food came out it was very cold and I didn't even finish the entire thing. The sodas were flat and we left disappointed. Won't ever return to this establishment again.

You know this little place has stood the test of time, and i know Monster Burgers is right down the street from Best Burger but this place grills the burger patties JUST RIGHT.

Wow! I've always pass right by it but never stopped... I'm so glad I did, only regret is not stopping sooner, buns were toasted just right veggies were fresh i had bacon( big Pieces) and jalapeño to top this delicious burger! The owner was a sweet man very nice and polite. I will definitely be stopping more often! Don't let the outside of the building fool you!!!!

A little disappointed I like to give my mom and pop restaurants a fair shot but I was disappointed in this place. Tables were dirty. Soda was flat when I pointed it out they didn't even fix the machine rather they gave me water . Burgers are okay nothing great.

OK, ok, if your looking for some sloppy, slimy, heart attack on a bun, this is your place! this place has been around for along time and used to be called "skees" or "skee burger"- heads up: its on the ghettto side of town, but just pick it up to go! the fries are the flat kind and the burgers are huge ! this is better than any fast food burger in town- as far as how unhealthy it is for you i mean. yummm!

For the price, you can't beat it. It is cheaper than mcdonalds. The burger was very good. The French fries were just ok. The service was a bit slow but friendly. There were some mistakes with the order but they worked out in our favor. I would like to try it again.

This place will definitely blow a hole in your underwear! It's the perfect heart attack burger joint on the So Side! I've been going there my whole life! Grease! Is King! Only complaint is they don't have shakes or malts. This would blow Brenda Burgers away. But Brenda's got shakes...

In my opinion,this is the worst its ever been.I ordered the biggest burger & they stuck two small patties together.That's not fresh,plus I got one tomato with a hand full of mixed let.&onion. He wore no gloves,no hair net,no towel to wipe his sweaty head.The prices are stupid crazy.I will never eat there ever,ever,ever,ever again.maybe some one can show them how a quality restaurant is supposed to be run. PS French Fries $3.99 plus taxes

Service sucks. High School GEDers behind the counter. Manager won't take responsibility for screwing up order. Took back burgers (one no veggies+bacon$$, one normal, both were made the same). Brought 1st burger back, he called us liars, I took the 2nd burger to show no difference he pulled out a fresh one that he claimed was in the original bag. I poked fresh burger and was still hot (originals already cold) and asked why it was hot and other was cold. He said cuz they are that good, lol. Called him idiot, he proceeded to call us LIARS and CURSE in front of everyone, Cashier too. Customer friendly these ones. Seriously, why would be lie about a piece of bacon...and why wouldn't you give good service after you've been given proof. Great burgers when correct, extremely POOR service.
