After having a terrible customer service experience at another Best Buy location, I came to this Columbia Heights location for my purchase instead. The customer experience was night and day totally different. I must give a huge public acknowledgement for the outstanding service provided by Deyvin at this location. He went above and beyond to ensure the open box TV that I purchased would be operational and as described online. When that TV was defective after he enabled me to test it in the store, he personally brought out a replacement and tested it out as well. He didn't stop there. He made sure all the pricing was corrected, then helped me load it into my vehicle. All with a smile! That guy is amazing and made the difference in my opinion to continue purchasing from Best Buy store in the future.

Place is fine. But the looks like it needs restocking. Items are also all over the place. Not much options for tv mounting either. Otherwise, good customer service. Was able to get what I wanted and the customer service representative was polite. Just know that parking can be pretty difficult and you usually have to pay. Whether it be for a minute or an hour. It’s a fully automated underground garage.

Martin was exceptional. I was randomly looking for laptops, not interested in buying one. He approached me and I asked him about two of my old favorite brands which were Sony and Toshiba. Martin proceeded to answer all my questions pertaining to using certain equiment outside of the country. He is smart, knowledgeable, friendly and patient as he was juggling many lines. I went away and return to look for Martin. He sold me exactly what I needed and when I return to Best Buy, I will ask for Martin. Thank you!!!!

I went to the store after my TV broke out of nowhere. The repairman stated that it was unsalvageable, and after I received a broken TV from Walmart, I was already frustrated but still trying to be hopeful that I would finally get a TV. I spent some time looking at the TVs and noticed that the agents and people on the floor were very busy, running around to help other customers, so I took my time to look around. I was not convinced by any TV, and as someone who plays video games for long hours, I wanted to ensure my TV was amazing and suitable for that purpose. Here is where George saved the day. I approached him at the counter and told him what had happened. He was very kind and explained the specifications that a gaming TV should have before starting to look around. He took the time (doing it as effectively as possible because they were busy) to find the perfect TV for me, and he definitely did. He got me a great TV that works perfectly for me, and I love every minute of it. He was also able to secure a discount on my fantastic OLED SONY TV. I recommend visiting the store and having them help you; keep in mind that they are busy, and you might have to wait a bit, but the wait is definitely worth it. It took me about 45 minutes to be at the store, considering I was perusing for about 30 minutes. Hopefully, this review helps you choose them for your next electronic device.

The guy who helped me was knowledgeable and pleasant. But later I overheard him ask his supervisor (very politely) to take a break before some particular time and she snapped at him in a totally inappropriate way in front of me and other customers, telling him to "stop harassing her" and that she "didn't like his attitude." Gross vibe. He has a right to take break. If she has some reason to criticize his attitude (all I saw from him was a good attitude) she shouldn't do that in front of customers.

Horrible experience with Lashawn, the manager there. I bought a monitor online that arrived broken. After 2 hours on phone with Best Buy trying to get them to replace it for the price I paid, I went into the store. Lashawn could have cared less - didn’t offer any solution or even any sympathy for the time. Won’t buy from this Best Buy again.

I just had an especially good experience with the service at this Best Buy. Patricia in the store was very competent and helpful. Lisa in the Geek Squad was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, efficient, honest and very helpful. I was skeptical about going here for computer repair work but I'm so glad I did.

Online, it says you can return in store. Drive to store, pay for parking, and it turns out the manager can decline to accept an online return if the store doesn't stock what you purchased online. +1 star because the manager, Patricia, was so calm and kind about enforcing this ridiculous rule. Never buying from BestBuy again.

It feels like a lot of reviews are unfairly critical for things that are really the fault of BestBuy's website or things like that, and not of this location. The folks in this store have been consistently great in my experience. And it's so amazing to have an electronics store locally - Target doesn't carry so many of the key things BestBuy does- and the prices at BestBuy are almost always better. Particular gratitude to managers like George and on a recent order Chris and Hector for their huge help finding something in inventory and brining it (quite heavy) to our car.

Ordered a fridge to be delivered on July 8. It arrived dented. Was told to call and reschedule to get a new fridge. They cannot deliver until August 10, if then. No apology just the offer of a $35 discount. Wil NEVER EVER buy ANYTHING from Best Buy again. Oh and the deliveryman ripped the siding on my front door.

Seems like I'm just an addition to the bunch of negative reviews for this Best Buy. Yup I also got an expensive tv for them to not deliver it and give me a hard time at the call center. Will definitely be reaching out to corporate about their crappy customer service. Do not get anything from them unless it fits in your car or you have the time and space to pick it up since clearly they don't care.

I ordered a TV online and ordered delivery and haul away of my old TV. I waited for 4 hours just for them to tell me they wouldn't be delivering my TV that day because the truck was having issues all day and they had been jump starting it but it just finally totally stopped working. Ridiculous to not do routine maintenance on your vehicles and to send out a truck that is having issues like that. Also to not have a back up truck available. Best Buy took no accountability and said it was the delivery companies fault, though Best Buy has a contract with this company and it if they can't uphold the contracts they are at fault for not working with a different delivery company. I wasted an entire day waiting for a delivery that never came and now have to take off work for another day! Will never purchase from Best Buy again. Absolutely abysmal delivery and customer service!

If I could give zero starts to this place I would. I have purchase 3 tv's from this place over the years. More recently I purchased 2 televisions one during the black Friday sale and another cyber Monday. The TV I ordered before Black Friday was supposed to be available for pick up Dec 1st however that was delayed and is still not available. I then received an email saying my second tv was ready for pick I wait in line over an our for the employees to tell me they can find my tv. As I was in line I observed many workers doing nothing and heard joking a laughter coming from there stock room. Less joking more working and they probably could've located my tv. The sales clerk apologized twice for the delay and another associate came up and said you already said sorry twice which was rude. The entire stuff is not trained properly and have no regards for customer service. Please clean house and upgrade your staff. Based on my experience I will never shop here again. I don't care if they were selling tv's for a penny. They aren't deserving of another penny!!!

Terrible customer service. I stood in the phone charger area for 20 minutes. As I looked for what I needed, a male customer who had been there less than two seconds was asked if he needed help by a male employee. It was immediate. Mind you, I was there for 20 minutes, awesome! Unfortunately, I've felt this more than once at this location. No one at the front greets you anymore. It seems there is a lack of helpful employees there. If you do need help, they act as if you're irritating them, they even argue with you when you ask simple questions. It's sad, I used to come to this Best Buy and feel valued. Now, I feel like I don't matter. I walked out because they didn't have exactly what I needed. No acknowledgement whatsoever from any employee. If you need something, just buy it online and pick it up. No need to waste time with the people there, they'll only help you if you beg and good luck if they are on their phone (which it seems they always are), they'll never see you.

if only there was a 0 star option! Best Buy promised an updated delivery window the day before delivery. now, just an hour before the end of the "business day" they will NOT update the window from 7 am - 7 pm to something a little more reasonable - which they PROMISED to do!!! When I phone and chatted with them (4 people altogether) they all said that they can't tell when it'll come and, by the way, it's too late to reschedule!!! I wouldn't want to reschedule if they would offer, as PROMISED, a narrower window! Apparently they know when it'll come because everything is loaded on the truck. Since it's loaded, they already KNOW when the delivery will be! The last thing on the truck will be the first thing off and the first thing will be the last off.... unless they want to completely un pack and re pack the truck at every site. they are DISHONEST, DISRESPECTFUL, AND REALLY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, I wish I'd bought it from some one else. I'll never buy anything there again - that's bigger than a phone charger anyway.

We're definitely not in Florida any more. Being accustomed to stand alone buildings for all my Best Buy adventures, it was a little odd to see this location at on the second floor of a small mall. Regardless, we needed some TVs and other small items for a new office and we were able to find everything we needed with the help of a gentleman in the TV department. Very friendly and helpful, we were in an out in under 30 minutes. Best Buy even provided someone to help us take 2 TV's and the other equipment on a cart, down the elevator, and to the uBer vehicle we had to use. This was a very positive experience but I know not all Best Buy's are created equal.

Awful and rude service. The person at the pick up counter, Mercedes, literally barked at us. You would think that a $1400 purchase might at least get us a thank you! Next time we will buy from a local store. In the meantime, Best Buy Corporate should send Mercedes and her colleagues to customer service training!

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I went in last minute (10 minutes before they closed) and I was greeted by Jamal. He helped me with my pick up order of a open box laptop. He even gave me time to open it, and plug it up. Unfortunately it was not up to my standards. He walked me over to the computer department. (At this time the store was now closed) I was greeted by associate Roland, He was very kind, SOOOO Helpful and extremely knowledgeable!! He gave me alternative options, he didn't rush me at all and helped me choose a perfect laptop! He spent time checking around and unfortunately, they did not have it in store. Roland was very patient and was able to order the laptop for me online to be shipped to my home and it arrived 2 days sooner than expected. It was Black Friday time so i got a great HP for the price! Would recommend this store to Everyone

I had little expectations as I was going to Best Buy, but when I finally went here for a simple purchase, it was made impossibly difficult. I had to cancel my order. Additionally, I was signed up for their marketing emails which was never consented too, despite what the fine print of some agreement says. Overall, I'm glad I ended up not giving Best Buy my money and I will continue to not give the company my money.

This is the Columbia Heights Best Buy store at the DC USA mall located at 3100 14th St. NW in DC. It is on level 2 adjacent to Target when entering from the parking garage. The entrance to the store is a small door in the middle of the back wall on level 2 with the Best Buy sign over it. It is on your right when getting off the elevators across from the up/down escalators. Step inside & the the big Best Buy store with it's high ceiling just appears in front of you. It reminds me a lot of Doctor Who. When just by opening a door & walking into a London police box you're suddenly inside the Tardis and think the inside is bigger than the outside! This Best Buy has the usual security people inside at the store entrance. The couple of times that I've been here I looked around the laptop/desktop computer department. If you need to buy a laptop they have all of the majar brands and something that will meet your needs. You can walk up to more than a dozen displays and interact with a live model. Updated HP laptops are in the store now! They sell for $1000, $1200 or more. I was sure glad to see the monthly payment plans clearly shown in addition to the full retail price. Also if your in need of a new keyboard or mouse or any other computer accessory there are plenty of associates to seek help from. The last time I was here I looked at the new game The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Gaming enthusiasts can find the newest games, accessories and gaming computers at Best Buy. Just one day after I'd entered this review I was very surprised to find that this store now has a new entrance (same door with a large window in each side). Plus 2 new big neon signs that no one could miss exiting the elevator or coming up the escalator. Until next time be kind to each other. @yelpdc #bestbuy #dcusamall

I had given up on Best Buy. I had no idea the lack of sales associates was due to corporate cutting back hours. I came here because I needed a case for my new iPhone. I was wrong calling sales associates "paper submarine". They were trying their best and adjusting to circumstances beyond their control. I will visit more than once to determine patterns unless the reviews before mine point out consistent "bad behavior", and subpar customer service.

I've actually had nothing but great service here! Employees have gone out of their way to help every time I go in--whether searching for printers during the pandemic or recommending the best ear buds. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because it's a small store and they don't have a ton of stock. They're happy to order whatever you need though!

Bought tv, shipped to wrong address. Then tv gets lost "in transit" back to warehouse when I try to rescheduled delivery and their customer service line is horrendous. Can't get on with a supervisor and they just repeat a script at you. Still can't get my tv I paid $1800 for because they say it has to arrive back at the warehouse before you can reschedule. Awful management and bad organization. Would give zero stars if I could.

When I walked in the store was empty. No lines. Lots of employees all around and only a few shoppers. I walked over to Geek Squad because I needed to get my computer fixed. When I asked the woman at the geek squad desk to help me check in my laptop she told us we couldn't. I was very confused as to why they couldn't fix my laptop. I had an appointment to drop it off and we even got a reminder. When I started asking questions and said that I came all the way across town and had an appointment she started to speak a little passive aggressive. After this I just left the store. I was not happy with the way she talked to me and she didn't even just let me check in my computer. When I went back to drop off my computer the next day, another geek squad employee helped me out and he was very kind and helpful. Since this time, I have returned to the same geek squad. When ever that one woman helps me, the experience is very unpleasant and isn't very helpful. One time I brought in an old laptop, a 2012 macbook, she told me they can't open it due to a policy, I said "ok fine but could you at least help with the software issue?" She did help but the laptop was taking long to turn on. She started to say it would take hours even though I knew it wouldn't. as it continued to load she walked away and told me to tell her when it turned on. When she came back there was a roach on the desk that I saw go on the desk, but she blamed me that it came out of the laptop, which is ridiculous. I left again without fixing the laptop and troubleshooted at home and figured it out. All in all they get 2 stars because I have had good encounters here with other staff but she is never really helpful. It's also too bad that the Tenlytown location closed down because the people there were very friendly and helpful.

Overall I like this store although it's on the smaller side of stores in the area or maybe it's because I rarely go past the apple section. Before entry there is sanitizer area and multiple throughout the store. I don't recall seeing this at other locations. There is literally a wipe section every few feet in the electronics area. This place is always well organized. It's easy to find things. Sales and prices are always bold and in your face. The staff is also friendly and often greet you upon entry and in various departments throughout the store. Although I wasn't greeted in my most recent visit yesterday. There seemed to be less staff present compared to usual. Foot traffic was also light and tends to be here. I went in looking for Apple Watch accessories and did not find what I was looking for. I would still go back b/c it's somewhere I can easily find something and their online site is pretty up to date with in store for what I need. The lines here are not long in my experience. I've renewed phones and brought electronic accessories with great assistance. I don't really have any cons b/c I can not recall an unpleasant time. The location is in the shopping center on 14th to the back near its neighboring stores Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. There's usually a sale of some sort for electronics/accessories.

I wish I would have read the reviews before going to this Best Buy. I needed a keyboard for my Surface Pro 8. Not only was the customer service non existent while I was in store, but the associate who reluctantly helped me gave me the wrong damn keyboard. Now I have to go back to the store and hopefully get the correct one. My only regret is that I have to give this place a star.

Just went in today to buy some Sony XM5s. Team was pretty good with getting the headphones. Everything was fine till checkout. Chris the gentleman who was ringing me out was cool. Very personable. Tells me I can possibly get 10% off the headset. So he has me enter my information into the keypad and it seems I was just so happening for a credit card. Only way I knew that was by reading the terms and conditions on the keypad. A worker not telling a customer about a credit card that they are applying for? Hm I don't think that's the right thing to do. Especially if it'll do a hard inquiry on my Credit Score. Who said I had good credit? Stuff like that is how you screw people over. I warn everyone about shopping here because if that's what they're doing to customers then this is a predatory action. Be careful.

Release Isaiah. Sooner the better. Extremely incompetent. We asked multiple times for a gift receipts and when he forgot, he said best buy doesn't give gift receipts. After we showed our frustration, he said we can go to customer service and try there and apologized that he was tired. What a lousy worker that doesn't deserve an hourly wage until he gets his act together.

I wouldn't say this is the best buy i have been to nor i can say i have the best experience here, its just a regualr best buy with regular best buy experience. Saff seem ok not rude but not keen on customer service either.. 5 stars because i found what i was looking for and it was on sell and 3 star for staff and 1 star for the parking which was a nightmare. Over all i am satisfied and happy of my purchase..

This is regarding order BBY01-XXXXX2274936. I received an email stating that somebody picked up my order at 6:39 PM, Wednesday, 04/07/2021 when I was at home still working at my table. I called the customer service line and was advised to come to the store to talk to the store manager. I came to the store at 2:15 PM, 04/10/2021. The staff was providing little to no help, not even making updates for me. I was waiting 45 minutes with nothing. After spending 45 minutes in the store with very little assistance from the store manager/store staff. the store manager came and told me that he would need me to talk to the customer care team again or my bank to report a fraudulent activity. The store took no responsibility with that matter. Everything seems very suspicious, and the store manager and his staff spent time discussing something discretely which made me think that they were hiding something. I requested to see the ID that was used to pick up the order or the videotape on the person picked up because this is a potential identity fraud to my personal information. The store provided no evidence and did not provide any solutions and I felt like I was mistreated by all the store staff and their manager. The store does have security staff and enforcement unit but they were offering no help as well. I spoke to 3 Best Buy representatives on the phone, a Chat agent, the store manager at the store, and they provided contradicting information on how they handle the process. But none of them can offer a resolution. I will be now filing my dispute with my financial institution, a formal complaint to Better Business Bureau and also identity fraud charge against BestBuy. All that are just for a $317.99 charge that can be handled a lot better from Best Buy.

I had been having problems with the way my phone was receiving text messages the last month so I decided to get it checked out. I arrived to the geek squad counter and was immediately greeted and acknowledged by the customer service agent, even though he was helping 2 other customers ahead of me. He asked if I had an appintment which I did not. He asked to have a seat and someone would help me shortly. In less than 5 minutes, Leo came out to assist me. I explained my phone problem. He went in and verified all my setting were accurate and I formed me that the issue was I fact an issue with the software and not my phone. He also gave me a brief tutorial on how to use my phone with a the new updates. He was very pleasant and professional and apprecaited the help he provided.

Best Buy (and/or specifically this location) does not honor their own price-matching policy, so don't even bother doing business with them if you want to price-match. I called this store in the morning and was told by a female representative that they price match Gamestop, as long as the item is in stock and not exclusively an online or pickup deal. The Gamestop also qualifies as a "local competitor," since they are well within a 25-mile radius of this Best Buy location. At the time of this review, Gamestop is selling new copies of the physical PS4 version of Far Cry 5 for $14.99 on their website. This is not a pricing error because they are having an Ubisoft sale, and the item did not fall under any criteria that would make it exempt from being price-matched at Best Buy. I showed my phone to the cashier with the item screen pulled up on the Gamestop website and even refreshed the screen to show that it's current. The cashier that was processing me had to ask a coworker if they price-match Gamestop (how do you not know your own workplace's policies?). I told him a Best Buy rep told me they do when I called in the morning, and his colleague confirmed that they do price-match Gamestop. However, the cashier said he couldn't get it to ring up for $14.99 and told me he would see if he could do it on another computer. After a few minutes, he returned, but he told me they couldn't sell it for that price and the best they could do was $25. That's not even a price match. I said, "NO THANK YOU" and left. Pretty shitty that Best Buy doesn't even price match. They should not advertise that they price-match on their website because it's completely false. I will be reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau because the store personnel egregiously tried to set an arbitrary price for an item that they simply did not want to price-match. I guess I'll be taking a ride very soon to the Gamestop in Virginia (which I was trying to avoid) and I will never try to price-match with Best Buy again.

They said I should be calling the customer service, which I did over 10 times and they were extremely incompetent. I still dont have my store credit that I earned. Made appointment for them to install it and told them they needed to show proof of Covid vaccination to enter our senior residence. On day of appointment installer said he was told he could not enter facility because he could not provide proof of vaccination and that Best Buy did not require it. I spent hours on phone with Best Buy and was told that they had submitted my problem to supervisors,but no one got back to me. I finally cancelled Geek Squad and paid for someone else to install. I will never buy from so-called Best Buy again.

Came in for a charger for the Google Pixel, didn't get the runaround from the sales associate on the floor, she knew exactly where it was and knew to save me from wandering around aimlessly like a toddler looking for his parents. Weird layout, though.

Tired of this store. I purchased a washer and dryer two months ago. One month later, itens were not delivered. When it showed up, they were missing parts! I refused delivery. called to cancel order three weeks ago. Money was never refunded. Came to same store where I purchased items and they were rude! Their system shows I refused items, but I still could not get refunded until they found items. Joslyne at store was not much a help. So, look for another place for appliances.

Oh my God what a cluster! Went to get a DVI to VGA cable. The first employee I asked ignored me. The second said curtly "I'm with a customer"... Well, he was getting cleaning supplies... The third employee was busily chatting with her boyfriend and didn't want to be disturbed. Well, I spent 20 minutes looking for the cables and... Eureka! There was a space for that specific cable, but there were none. I asked yet a fourth employee... The answer: Yo, we put them on the wall as soon as they come... I asked if there were any in the back. He ignored me. Well, meanwhile I had impulsed to buy an Apple Trackpad... I put it back on a counter and walked out. Last time I enter this hellhole.

Roland in the computer department is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and kind. He was great in guiding me to the right product. Also, when I made an exchange he and the other staff members were very helpful in resolving the issue.

It's been at least five years since I bought myself a home laptop as I've lived on my work one 15 hours a day. And last summer I walked into a Best Buy (Pentagon City I'm looking at you) to look for help to buy a gps/smart watch, walked around searching for the section and help, saw three employees who actively avoided me, and after 20 minutes walked out frustrated and without a watch. So why I chose BB again for my needs I'm unsure. BUT I am glad I did. Justin who works at Columbia Heights is a true gem. I walked to the section, he immediately greeted me and asked if I needed help. I said yes, gave him a little about my needs, he asked questions, and brought me to three different options. Continued to check throughout this would suit my needs, explained everything in an easy-to-understand language and was patient. I mean patient because I had to leave for an appt but was right there when I got back. I didn't have time to price shop like i normally would but think I got a pretty good deal. Purchased the laptop, did buy the three year protection (he told me I can cancel it earlier in the years and get a partial refund!) and walked out happy. Three weeks later I'm still happy with my choice and really pleased at how great Justin was to help me.

I came here to buy a new laptop. The first time, I was trying to get help from a sales associate and asked her to talk about some of the differences between two models I was looking at. She said she'd only been working there for three years so it was hard for her to tell. I thought that was such a hilarious answer, I couldn't even get mad. I went again a couple days later and was helped by someone a lot more knowledgeable, who was really patient with all my questions, and you could tell they knew a lot about the pros and cons of different laptops. I ended up making a purchase. So I think the place is just a bit inconsistent in terms of staff. Overall, if you can find the right person to help you, it's not so bad.

As a customer my needs were not met. The worst customer service I ever experienced. They would just walk by and when I spoke to multiple employees they would only keep walking and wouldn't bother to help out. All I wanted is to get is a laptop. Never again. In all honesty Target has better customer service then this store.

June 9 2017 - I'm standing in line and I'm the next customer to be serviced. A woman walks behind me in line. The Best Buy associate at the counter looked me up & down look and skipped over me to ask the person behind me if they needed help first. October 8 2019: I entered the store ready to buy a major purchase. No one came to help so I walked around in circles for 25 minutes looking for an associate. I walked out the door. You just lost a sale due to poor sales floor associates.

I'm happy to report that I had a positive experience at this Best Buy, which seems to be an uncommon occurrence, from reading most reviews on this page. I came in to look at wireless speaker systems, having done uncharacteristically little advance research. Gabriela was friendly and pointed me to Reggie, who was quite knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions about the differences between the various brands. He filled me in on their Bose inventory, which apparently is quite limited because they only receive shipments from time to time. This store is a bit smaller than others, but this is unsurprising, given its location in Columbia Heights. When in CoHi, I'll probably be back.

I mean, it's a generic Best Buy. The staff is fine. Stuff is fine, etc. However they do offer free recycling of anything electronic unless, I think, it contains glass. So every so often I bring in the little gadgets, cables, etc, I've accumulated and, hopefully, they stay out of a landfill.
