Superb cantonese cuisine. The duck and meat dishes are must try, suggest to start with the combo or if you’re more than four people then get a whole duck. We also got the taro pork pot and that was succulent and soft texture. Service is swift and friendly

Delicious and huge portions. The mongolion beef was super tender and slightly spicy. Perfect! The crispy noodles had tons of pork and great gravy. Love the chopping of duck while you eat! I had 2 full containers AFTER I ate to take home!

It was our 1st time here. We decided to come in for dinner. Everything that we ordered was very good in texture and flavor. The roast pork. The skin was very crispy. The meat was juicy and tasted "fresh". The layers of meat and fat were perfectly balanced. The roast duck. There was hardly any fat between the skin and meat. The meat was still juicy. It was seasoned perfectly balanced with all of the different spices. BBQ pork. It was so good by itself. We took some home to put it in our own fried rice later. Combination chow fun is one of my husband's favorites. He really liked how they cooked it here. I really liked the well balanced flavor. The dish came out steaming hot but, yet, the veggies were still crunchy. Combination tofu. This dish had everything that we both like. We don't know if they make their own tofu or not but it tasted better than in some restaurants that we had been to. Deep fried crispy dough sticks. I have eaten this in Houston, Flushing, Garden Grove (CA) and here in AZ. But nothing reminded me of my childhood like tonight; when I ate it at the restaurant it reminded me of how my granddad used to make it for us. Perfectly crispy - airy - light in flavor and in its dough. The care from the restaurant staff was wonderful. We are planning to come back soon to order some dishes for our parents.

Yum! Living in a city with many food selections its hard to find one that is truly delicious; well we definitely hit the hot pot 😜 with this one! We ordered a little bit of everything from the menu and we were not disappointed in any of it! The flavors and not to mention the presentation of everything was super yummy!! Please don't skip out on this place and DONT FORGET TO TRY THE DUCK! 😁 amazing owners and even better food, what more can be asked for?

Google
The roasted meats (duck, pork, spare ribs, and bbq pork) are done really well. This is freshest when they first open in the morning. The stir fry dishes are also delicious with really tender beef, pork, and chicken. Their porridge is also very good here. Walnut shrimp here is not very good though. Breading is chewy and there’s too much mayonnaise. Overall the dishes are really well done.

Google
Authentic and delicious. Light flavors that were not too salty but on target with taste. All of the dishes we ordered were perfect. Restaurant was clean and service was good, paced just right. Will be coming back again soon!

Google
Absolutely the sweetest staff ever. I love the Hong Kong style food offered here. I grew up in HK and this is definitely local Hong Kong flavors! Amazing food and really good prices.

Google
My food was absolutely incredible, so fresh. JoJo took care of me and did a great job. I ordered the Kung pow beef, came with hot, sour soup, eggroll, crab crisp, and rice. I can’t wait to come back to eat the roasted duck. this place can use a bit of a facelift, but I understand this is a hard time! I WOULD RECOMMEND

Yelp
Hands down the best pot stickers I have found in Phoenix! I was surprised by how filling they were. My husband and I had never had Peking Duck before, so we choose here for the new experience. The duck was moist, flavorful, and delicious. The buns they served with it were well fluffed up and added to the meal. The service was excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant is relaxing. We will definitely be back to try more of their cuisine.

Yelp
My go-to spot for roast duck. It's always tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. I've also tried their roast pork and BBQ pork, both of which are flavorful and perfectly cooked. Today I picked up half a roast duck for around $22. Heads up: they charge a $0.50 fee for credit/debit card payments, so I recommend bringing cash to avoid it. The staff is wonderful. The lady who usually helps me is super friendly and even recognizes me since I come here so often when I'm craving their duck. I haven't had a chance to dine in yet, but I noticed they offer a great lunch deal, so I'm looking forward to trying that soon. Service here is always fast and efficient, and they also offer convenient online ordering. Inside is very simple with lots of tables. Can get busy during dinner rush, but I never wait longer than 10 minutes to pick up my order. Highly recommend if you love authentic, tasty roast duck!

Yelp
We ordered one veg, one rice and two protein. Love the bbq pork slices, they were very classic Hong Kong style bbq pork, tender and juicy, but maybe someone who loves fatty meat might not like it, it's more on the lean side. Roast duck was good too, it came with two different sauces. Fried rice was great, not too salty and chicken slices in it were generous. Their service was great, very kind and welcoming people.

Yelp
Best Authentic Hong Kong Chinese food! I went with my family on Saturday night around 5:30 pm and the place was starting to get packed! Restaurant is spacious and gives you the traditional Chinese restaurant feel. Service was excellent, everyone is very friendly. We ordered a lot of traditional Chinese food. Here's the food we ordered: 1. Roasted duck - delicious! Juicy and full of flavors! 2. Chinese bbbq pork and roasted pork belly - the bbq pork is soft and juicy and pork belly is cooked just right where the skin is crispy and the bottom is super juicy! 3. House special pan friend chow mein - this is one of my favorite dish growing up and it is now my daughter's favorite too! The noodles are crispy and soft with the sauce on top. The house special has seafood in there (shrimp and squid). Must try! 4. Peking pork chop - explosion of saucy flavor! 5. Black pepper beef - meat is soft and sauce is delicious! Not as spicy as some people would think due to the name being black pepper. It is well balanced! 6. Fresh tilapia - always excited when they have fresh tilapia in their fish tank! It's steamed and so good! The green onions on top goes well with the fish. 7. Red bean sauce with fish filet - another great fish to try. The sauce combined with the fish is delightful! If you're wanting traditional Chinese food and you're close by this side of town, you must stop and try it! It's always best if you can get a larger party to go so you can order lots of dishes to try since all their plates are family style plates! If you don't know what to order, you can always ask the servers there and they can help you! They are so friendly! Can't wait to come back and try more food!

Yelp
There are a few really authentic Chinese restaurants in the valley and fortunately I found another one of them - this one. The dining area is spacious with an old-school Chinese restaurant look, service is very friendly, and the menu lists a wide variety of offerings. On two visits with friends, I was able to try the Chinese beef stew, fried tofu, bok choy with black mushrooms, egg foo young, bean shoots with straw mushrooms, and a fried fish dish that was a Chinese New Year special. All were very good, with authentic Cantonese flavors you would not experience with Americanized Chinese food. Prices are good, given the quality and quantity of the food. Parking is no problem since the situated in a sizeable commercial Plaza on the North West corner of Dobson and Southern.

Yelp
They had an amazing selection for traditional hong kong style Chinese food. Ranging from their bbq to their noodle soups! The service was amazing and was greeted immediately as we walked in. Ambiance was how I'd imagine a Chinese bbq spot. Not too fancy just enough to get the job done. Definitely a must try if you're looking for traditional Hong Kong style Chinese food.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Sunday night to preview the place for for our dining club to potentially meet here in a couple of months. We were seated immediately and our server help my Father-in-Law navigate the menu. Everyone found something they were interested in and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Service was family style, so it was easy to share with our table mates. The preview went well and we are excited about coming back in October with our larger group

Yelp
I had a yearning for some roast duck and remembered Best had that as well as BBQ pork. We had a later lunch of roast duck lo mein and BBQ pork rice plate. There were a few dining in the restaurant. Staff were nice and service was super quick. The plates came with ample protein. Both dishes were very delicious. Both proteins were lean and tasty. The skin on the duck was crispy and flavorful. We both enjoyed our meals and even took some home for a snack. It was good to revisit this place. Large shared parking lot.

Yelp
I love their Peking duck. We got half a duck. They have an area with duck and various bbq. Their prices are reasonable and they have a good lunch deal. The servers are nice and attentive.

Yelp
We attended a large group meal in the semi-private back room. Service was superb. We had appetizers, soup and seven different entrees. Lots of food and all prepared perfectly. The duck was my favorite. Definitely will be back to try more items on the huge menu!

Yelp
I was in the area and New Times had this listed as one of the top 100 restaurants in the Phoenix (Mesa) area. Small shopping center and you can tell this place has been here decades. It was empty but I also went at 3pm. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. It was plenty of food and tasted fine. Top 100 I'm not sure but very good.

Yelp
Good food at reasonable price, Authentic Chinese. We had orange beef and duck take out both excellent. We will be back!

Yelp
We ordered a whole pig for lunar new year. It was supposed to be the center of attention, but ended up being the wrong kind of attention. Roasted pork is supposed to be crispy and crunchy. It was neither. It was so chewy no one was able to eat the skin and the meat had an off putting smell. This cost $500+ and most of it went to trash cuz no one wanted to eat it. Just terrible. There's no way we're ordering from this place again. That pig should have never left the restaurant.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Food is great at the price level. Half roasted duck has crispy skin and portion is enough for two. Service was quick too. Ok to pack everything if can't finish.

Yelp
This is the best southern china/ Cantonese or Hong Kong food! I always feel this place is cook from a family kitchen. Fresh, hot and tasty!

Yelp
Our favorite Asian restaurant. Never disappoints. Crap puffs always perfect. Spouse loves their sweet and sour chicken. I took the sweet and sour sauce home, it was so good. Generous dinner portions. My favorite is the garlic eggplant. Fried rice is always tasty, authentic, and never oily. Their hot tea is a must for me. Great service too. Quaint atmosphere. Never busy for lunch on the weekdays, which is when we are in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
One of our favorite Asian food places to eat. We have never had a bad experience. The food is great! The service is awesome. You know it's gonna be good when the ducks are hanging in the window.

Yelp
By far the best Chinese restaurant we've found so far. Our daughter had practice in the area and we wanted to pick up Chinese food to celebrate the New Year. I called in an order and woman told me 30min. We arrived before pick up time just to make sure we would pick our daughter up on time. Anyway, the place was filled and the woman at the counter told me it was because of Chinese New Year which I figured. She was definitely handling her business! She was answering phones, putting orders together, taking payments and seating people. She was definitely doing a great job, not looking stressed at all. She kept looking at the clock to make sure orders were ready at time she quoted. She was triple checking orders that when we left I asked my husband if he seen if she had a certain item. He told me there was no doubt that he had that she did it right. I agreed and then we went home. We enjoyed everything! The beef broccoli over Hong Kong noodles were delicious, the honey walnut shrimp was filled, my girls loved the pot stickers, but the star of show was the roast pork and bbq pork combination. If you haven't tried it, you need to. Super happy we tried this spot. We spent about $70 and we have leftovers for today. I'd say it was a deal for that price. The name of restaurant says it all!

Yelp
Best roast pork and duck in town. Went on a Saturday, 6:30 PM, and was very easy to get a table. I suspect most of the business is take-out, but there is plenty of seating. Not pictured is the chow fun with beef dry noodle. Very good, although little little bit oily. Tried out the fried rice with salted fish and chicken. Was far more fishy than I had anticipated, so imagine it's more of an acquired taste. Won't order again, but I imagine the other fried rice options are excellent. Definitely will come here again in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
No photos of other food ordered, but they were all great! No frills type of place but the service and food speaks volume. Price is great too.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been seeing lots of posts for this location on social media and wanted to experience it for myself. So I decided to try their roast & bbq meat items, so I ordered their 1/2 roasted duck, roast pork, bbq pork & bbq ribs for to go. Everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The lady that took my order was very friendly and quick to offer assistance. There were only a couple of tables, since it was still prior to dinner time. The place is a medium size place with several tables available and it appears to have a private dining area for larger parties with a few tables. I would definitely go back and try some of their other menu items.

Yelp
Food all I got to say BOMB ... order a little of this and little of that and all good Service was excellent and couldn't say nothing bad Nice spot and good that it's locally Owed

Yelp
We go all the time. We love the Mongolian beef and the Pan Fried Noodles. The service is always friendly, and their chili oil is delicious, too. They always give us an extra because they know our faces and how much we love it.

Yelp
I've been dying to try the duck since the very first time my husband and I ate here a few years ago. We finally made it back to town and tried it. The duck was the topic of conversation the whole day and turned out incredibly delicious! We ordered a lot of side plates and shared amongst our family of five. The food was excellent and we can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
My new place to go so tasty and...... friendly service . I drive from Scottsdale to have my cravings of duck and roasted pork ... Visit them already 3 times in 2 months Never disappointed. They also have fresh fish. Literally, you pick a fish from the tank and they prepare it right there and then or is it then and there. .. anyway you get my drift. I'm tempted to try next.

Yelp
TLDR; hole in the wall traditional Cantonese stuff While it may not look like much from the outside, they have some pretty great food. The plastic chairs with the metal frames and the tables with the lazy susans are pretty nostalgic even if the interior isn't the prettiest. The BBQ pork and char siu was super rich and flavorful, and since we came on a Saturday morning, the meat had just been cooked. Their congee was nicely flavored and the texture was also good. Their beef chow fun was on the greasy side, but it had bean sprouts and they were generous with the beef. The mapo tofu and yuotiao (I apologize for my lack of pinyin skills) weren't the best, but it was definitely edible. The fried rice was okay, but I wouldn't get it because it's something you can easily make at home. Our server was really nice and gave us containers that perfectly fit our leftovers.
google avatar

Winnie L.

Yelp
Pro-tip: Sometimes they are out of a lot of items on the menu like certain vegetables and roast pork so try to be flexible with your order. They are family owned and really sweet, so definitely support them! Highlights: The food is pretty good, authentic and quick to come out. Our favorites were the braised beef tendon clay pot and the beef chow mien. Lowlights: Sometimes they are out of some of the vegetable types or meat items like roast pork.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Food fresh and quick service. Deep fried pork could've been better but still the overall experience good. 12pm new years eve 2024.

Yelp
Best Hong Kong Dining 1116 S Dobson Rd Mesa, AZ 85202 Having eaten here for a number of years, it's about time for me to write about this restaurant. While the atmosphere of the restaurant is a bit on the older and worn side, the food is anything but that. A wonderful diverse menu loaded with outstanding dishes. The kitchen is more than willing to make dishes to your liking, and while they will make dishes spicy if you like, they will also allow you to bring in your own Szechuan pepper corns and cook dishes with them if you wish. I brought my own to the restaurant and had them make Ma Po Tofu with them. It was amazing flavor. I love their roast duck and their roast pork is wonderful. I think their food is excellent and recommend it. 4 stars for excellent food and service.

Maxine A.

Yelp
Great food but they charge extra for white rice. I ordered Egg fu young they didn't give me rice I asked where is it they told me pay policy - must order & pay for white rice. I didn't know & don't like that.
google avatar

Wowezow E.

Yelp
I love the scrambled egg with shrimp. The duck is also very tasty here. It's a good place.

Jared W.

Yelp
Food and service is excellent. This is a hidden gem. Me and my girlfriend have been here twice after taking a chance on it, and plan to keep coming back regularly because of the amazing, authentic dining experience.
google avatar

Betty L.

Yelp
Hong Kong dining has takeout containers that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. The food at Hong Kong dining was good however the flavors were not as strong as I am used to. There seems to be only one person that answers the phone for takeout and she understands English which is very helpful at a Chinese restaurant. Parking is available and not too busy during the weekdays.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Haven't eaten inside but we've gotten roast duck here to go twice! Always reliable and you can call ahead in advance to pre-pay as they tend to run out quick during holidays. Tasty, around $30 for a whole duck. Don't care much for the sauce it comes with though.

Lulu W.

Yelp
Long term customer. Authentic Cantonese food. Quality is consistent. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The best roasted duck and pork in town. Service is alright but foods are good. Especially their steam tilapia yummy

Yelp
I haven't been here in years but my parents pretty regularly just come here to get the peking duck to go. My mom suggested that we come for dinner since we haven't been in so long. This restaurant definitely carries a lot of nostalgia for me as I'd come here all the time as a kid and always thought the food was great. The menu is MASSIVE with nearly 400 dishes, which just from that was a little bit of a red flag. It also took us forever to decide on what to order bc of the sheer amount we had to read through lol but we ultimately decided on the seafood sizzling rice soup, combination tofu, and pan fried noodle with pork/chives. The seafood sizzling rice soup was something I'd get all the time as a kid from a variety of Chinese restaurants. I would say the soup here was decent--the flavor of the soup is good but given that it's a seafood soup there was only shrimp and a pretty minimal amount at that. Additionally, the rice wasn't nearly as crispy as it should be but became quite soft almost immediately when it was added to the broth. Overall, not the best soup I've had but one of the better dishes compared to the others we ordered. The pan fried noodle was disappointingly bland. Although it looked delicious, it was anything but and for a second I was concerned that maybe i had COVID and couldn't taste it (this was not the case). As for the combination tofu, it was also bland (although maybe a LITTLE more flavor than the noodles). Since it was combination implying there was seafood, there was also very minimal seafood in the dish. Overall, i don't know if maybe there are actually a few select dishes that are good or not and maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. But judging from the fact that they have nearly 400 menu items, there's probably a high chance anyone would pick something that's not going to be good. I don't think I can see myself coming back to eat here except for getting the Peking duck or crispy pork belly to go.

Yelp
Been coming to this location for years. Food quality has been consistent for me. Come here once every two months. BBQ pork and Roast duck is top notch. (Pro tip for BBQ pork.. request for leaner parts and let them know you do not charred parts. You would want a perfect balance of tenderness and juiciness. Too lean is not tender) Kids approved place (12-13 a bit of picky eaters)
google avatar

Samuel L.

Yelp
Best Hong King Dining place in AZ! Been coming here for roughly 20 years and the quality has not changed! Since I was a little kid, I always loved the duck and after trying various places across multiple states, I can still say the duck here is the best. The flavors from the duck are unmatched and the plum sauce they serve on the side is a perfect match. Most of their other items on the menu are equally as great! It's sad to see small businesses struggle during these times, but I hope these guys make it through. If you haven't had duck yet, please come here and give it a shot! You won't regret it.
google avatar

Sandy N.

Yelp
According to my HK Chinese parents, REALLY good classic Cantonese dishes. They are big foodies and more knowledgeable (all I can say is I also really enjoyed the food). Not the whole menu is Cantonese, but if that's what you like then this is the place to go! We got bitter melon, beef noodle soup, pickled vegetables and seafood soup, eggplant seafood claypot, and kong xing vegetables. Don't be fooled by the looks of this place or the occasional slow service. Staff was really nice once you get to know them.
google avatar

PC T.

Yelp
I have been at this place several times to order food-to-go. The food is always to my liking... yum yum yummy yum. I haven't dined-in yet but notice the patrins are always enjoying the food. On most occasions, the food togo seems to spill as if it isn't packed sturdy enough. Really? I like the hot pot(s) and foods that are saucy. This time I dined-out something a little dry yet very tasting. I'm rating this place a 4 until I come home with no ordered food spillage. I'll be back next week and will update this review
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, I can't believe I've lived here 10 years already this year. This place is still around, survived the pandemic, still dependable Cantonese food at very reasonable prices. The competition for 燒味, Cantonese roast pork and duck mostly, has actually stepped up a bit with the 99 Ranch now in Chandler, but BHKD still delivers a solid plate of cha foh faan (叉火飯): that's two kinds of pork, cha siu and siu yuk, on a plate of rice with some token veggies. That alone is a great meal, but last time I asked them to fry up a crispy egg (荷包蛋) with that, they demurred, sadly. Didn't need the calories anyway I guess!
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
The food is delicious and tender. We ordered the roast duck on rice and the pu-pu platter. The meat was flavorful and the fried shrimp, crab puffs and egg rolls were crunchy and well seasoned. The sauces were rich and complimented the food. The service was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself has a 90's vibe, I really enjoyed it, but I could see how others would say it's a dated look. I will be back for more of the Best! Well done!
google avatar

Bob M.

Yelp
Love the service and Open dining room and the staff is very attentive. This place is a winner China's of wish we had something open like this in Charleston Charleston and it's a little bit far for takeout but if you're in Arizona it's worth the stop
google avatar

Kat V.

Yelp
Roasted pork and roasted duck! The pork skin is so crunchy. The duck is so juicy. Chow fun beef (without gravy) is tasty, and beef is tender. Need to try steamed chicken and bbq pork. Easy to call to place an order before pick-up.
google avatar

Val E.

Yelp
Finally found a spot our in this area that I like. I love that they have rice plates with roast duck. I especially love how they do the beef with egg how I like it. All of the places I've been to in the area insist they can't make the egg runny, but this place does!

Yelp
Been coming here since I moved to Arizona 15 years ago, still as good as the first time.
