When I had discovered this place from a coworker's referral, there were 2 things that kept me coming back: speed and decent prices.
Fast forward to about a year and a half later, and in the time that's passed, a few jobs have been messed up, the request has been misinterpreted, and the prices were raised.
Starting with the first point, there have been times were the clothes I brought and had been measured for had been hemmed too short (among them a tee, suit pants and chinos). Additionally, after washing chinos that I had just gotten cuffed, one wash and dry cycle effectively tethered the threads that held the cuff together. Compared to the same exact request almost a year ago, the quality went down significantly (the first pair have survived many wash rounds).
Very recently, I had gone to ask for some pants to be cuffed. When I had gone back, the pants were only hemmed. Assuming this was an honest mistake, I had said it would be fine if I paid the new hem prices (more on this next), but the price would still be the same. As a result, if I wanted the original job I asked for done, I would have to come back the next day.
Finally, it seems like prices have been raised by a flat $5 per job. For things like a hem, a $10 hem, the price went up 50%. I only noticed this bump because I had asked for a job that was exactly similar to what had been done in the past only to find that the prices had gone up.
I wanted to keep giving Best Stitch Tailoring more chances after my first experience, but at this point, it seems like it's in vain.
