Yelp
I realize I'm late to the party, but I FINALLY made it here, to this highly-ranked chocolatier/chocolate foodie "boutique".
And I call it a "boutique" because that's what it feels like: a high-end, exclusive shop showcasing beautiful artisan items. Kinda like a gallery of sorts.
All the "wares" here are stunningly beautiful.
And all the "wares" here are chocolate!
You simply CAN'T BEAT THAT!!!!
First of all, this tiny shop is in a gritty, industrial part of town, right off Main Street. It could not be more unassuming from the street. It's located in a strip mall/alley beside other businesses like Glory juice and ServiceMasters carpet cleaners, and there are lots of food trucks in the area, too. There is parking in the alley, with a few spots reserved for Beta5 customers.
Once you enter the shop, it's like you've entered another dimension: it's stark and bright white, with the pervasive subtle aroma of sweetness in the air. It's as if you left the grey gritty industrial world outside and suddenly entered a sterile white lab. The sudden contrast in environments is startling. And the shop is so small but so cute, with display counters featuring gemstone-like chocolates in the most fabulous array of glossy colors, and then the "creampuffs" of all sorts of wondrous, delectable colors and flavors (unlike any creampuffs I've ever seen), and then gourmet chocolate bars in all sorts of flavors. There's a wall behind with shelves containing boxes of their famous caramels wrapped in chocolate (I've had these before and I HAD to get them again. If you like caramel, THIS is the best in the city, hands down). They also had tins containing various coffees (the packaging on the tins was super cool).
They have a few seats here, so you can order some sweets and/or hot beverages and enjoy them here (they also serve coffees and hot drinks here). And the two guys working here when we visited were super nice and super knowledgable about the chocolates here. Bonus!
Note: if you need to get a gift for someone who likes high quality treats, you seriously cannot beat getting the small $13 box of caramels here. They are beautifully packaged and are, without question, the best caramels in the city. There are 6 decent-sized pieces in the box, and - bonus! - under the caramels is a rectangular, flat piece of amazing dark chocolate, lining the bottom of the box. It's like a little extra present! Super gift for someone, without breaking the bank.
