A 27-Year-Old Colorado Craft Brewery Comes Back to Life in the Highlands | Eater Denver

"I visited the Tudor revival-style Beth Eden Baptist Church at 3257 North Lowell Boulevard and found a nearly 90-year-old, 4,000-square-foot building with vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows that has been the subject of years of development debate in Denver; it now sits attached to the Highlands32 apartments and houses Oasis Brewery, which preserved the building’s bones while uncovering brick walls and installing a 7-barrel brewhouse where the pulpit once stood." - Josie Sexton

A friend of mine came to me asking questions about God. Thankful he came to me, I gracefully answered his questions. He asked me if I'd take him to church. My family has their own church that they go to, but I felt drawn to this one. Like God was telling me to go here. I took my friend to this last Sunday service. We read from Luke, and it was a beautiful service.

My daughter has been here since preschool. Wonderful curriculum. They teach old school math and phonics the right way. Staff is very passionate about what they do.

I will not judge these people, only because that was my first time attending their service, but maybe if I attend regularly, I will get to know them and would no longer label these people unfriendly. But first impression lasts as we all know. I was a bit surprised that other than the one single soul, an older gentleman, perhaps in his 70's, who had bothered to shake my hand just as he steps out the door, no one had asked me who I was, where I was from. It's pretty obvious I was a new face in their midst, I mean, I was the only male Asian there, I believe. Of course, I could have approached somebody while I was looking around on some of their display for their upcoming Mission Conference. But I tried not to talk to no one and allow this to be a unique experience for me. Kind of testing these Christians if they welcome a stranger like me. However, they badly failed my experiment. The pastor, who pronounce he was a military Chaplain, was just standing next to me talking to whoever, seemed could careless. But nevertheless, I will give them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps they were just too busy thinking about their approaching Mission Conference. To you as a member of that church: I am not just a stranger to you, I happened also to be a former Navy, an American citizen and who had served this country dutifully - May God bless your ministries //s/

This is not a church at all. I was sent to this school when I was a preteen and they preach hellfire and brimstone to young adults, and remind you of the constant threat of rotting in hell for even thinking an impure thought. The history teacher would have us play games in which we could win points and a prize, for example a bag of candy on a test day for the winning team, in which to earn extra points the students would perform challenges like drinking a hot sauce concoction that would cause some students to throw up or licking the top of a ceiling fan. Furthermore, they had a legal case in court for health concerns from Jefferson County. Please do not send your children to this school. I am an adult and still suffering from mental and religious trauma.

Great school!! My boy had been attending for 2 yrs, 4th & 5th grade. He's getting an amazing education. He loves all the things he's learning compared to the public schools he was at before attending here.

Bunch of freedom haters denying public land access. Take your 'god' and move to TX or some other freedom hating state!

Titus 1:7-9 "For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, 8 but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. 9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it." A Deacon and Church elders are overseers. Frankly, given what's going on in the church today, with adultery, homosexuality, alternative Jesus', other paths to god, and more being accepted and preached in the churches, we need more church discipline, and that is what this is. I wish my church would do this.

Yelp
I go Beth Eden whenever I visit the Denver area and it is ALWAYS a highlight of my trip! This church is made up of the most sincere, friendly Christians, with a Pastor whose humility and love for Christ, is undoubtedly proof that God works through us when He is our all.

Yelp
I witnessed a Sunday morning service 2 weeks ago where the Pastor tried to dismiss the visitors at the end of the service so he could conduct a business meeting for the sole purpose of voting a long standing member out of the church. It seems this member's transgression was that he refused to submit to the authority of the deacon board because he stated the deacons do not have Biblical authority. The Pastor told the congregation that the Bible does give deacons authority over the members. I was shocked because my Bible does not say anything about deacons having authority. Beware of the false teaching at this church!!
