Google
I got the roasted tomato bagel with veggie cream cheese. I didn’t love the blend I got, but the bagels and cream cheese were such good quality and so yummy otherwise. Great vibes overall.

Meta Rater

Google
People who rated the steak & cheese bagel high must be high themselves. Unless the owner changed brands of meat by the time I tried it, these people cannot be trusted if they think the steak is good. It’s not, I would give it below average quality. The beef is on the greasy side and has that frozen cafeteria low quality cheap meat flavor. The bagel breading itself is fine, I took out the meat and just ate the bagel.

Google
I got a Orange Cranberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. A bold but delicious move. Cashier advised me on the decision and was very helpful. A great place to study/work while eating a yummy bagel!

Wells TL

Google
They are the best bagels in DC! See photo of hot blueberry. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Also, this is the same bagel formula as the old “What’s a Bagel” which was amazing.

Allison Acero

Google
Best bagel shop in the DMV. Lots of great ingredients to choose from. Flavorful & packed full.

Jack Jackson

Google
Bagels have no flavor and are too thick and not soft or chewy. Egg is nasty and not a cracked egg. Sausage egg and cheese has no flavor and cream cheese made me nauseous all day. Nothing good about this place.

Waleed Sabir

Google
Great establishment in downtown Bethesda. Kind and helpful staff gave their recommendations for what to order. The options were plentiful and well priced. Great selection of drinks as well as the ability to purchase a cream cheese. I wish that there was some seating but the location was a bit small. There was also a hefty wait for the order around 10-15 minutes.

Austin Graff

Google
I’ll forever question Bethesda Bagels’ decision to sell a chocolate chip bagel without only a raisin sweet cream cheese to go with, but their bagels are good. They are thick, chewy, and with perfect texture. Despite not having a honey walnut cream cheese or something like it, they do have a variety of spreads and cream cheese. They also sell bagel breakfast sandwiches. If you’re in a rush, you can park in from for 15 minutes.

Yelp
Stopped by on a weekday around noon. There was a short line and short wait. There's limited bar seating by the window of the shop. I ordered a whitefish salad sandwich on an everything bagel. The wait was around 5 minutes. This was one of the messiest meals I've ever had. They give you a MASSIVE amount of whitefish salad. Luckily, there is a station for sauces, sweeteners, utensils at the back of the shop. I ended up eating some of my food with a fork and knife. It felt near impossible to pick up and casually bite into the sandwich. By the end, the sandwich was practically falling apart. Overall it was a tasty and filling way to fuel my day of exploring museums. I would recommend ordering ahead online since I saw a lot of people doing that and I was a bit intimidated by all the options ordering on the spot. All in all this was my first meal in DC and it was great. I'd come back!

Yelp
Exactly what you'd expect from a bagel shop. They have an assortment of bagels and different sandwiches on the menu - the line moves fast so be prepared to order! You don't want to hold anyone up on their morning rush lol. I tried their seasonal rainbow bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese - made for a sizeable breakfast sandwich!
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Tried the everything bagel with steak and cheese. A simple but very filling breakfast. No lunch after this one for sure. Service was quick and efficient while the first timers were guided by the regulars. Always a quiet ambiance for a morning rush from the moment the door closes behind you.

Yelp
I had an egg bacon and American cheese sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel! I only eat egg whites, so I was really pleased this place had egg white options available! The sandwich was hot and the bacon wasn't too soggy. My only complaint was that the bagel didn't feel as authentic as I was expecting. To say you can see the employees making bagels in the window, it wasn't as soft on the inside as I would've liked. Other than that, it was great!

Yelp
My favorite bagel in the DMV!! I just wish they had a location closer to me! The bagels are fresh and warm (read: do not toast them! Eat them soft and chewy as they come). While it could've had a more distinct crust, the taste was perfectly bagel (iykyk). I was surprised to find the mini bagel achieved the same great taste and largely the same great texture. I found the egg sandwiches here a little peppery and the cheese not super well melted, but for a classic cream cheese and lox, this is the bagel for you!!!
google avatar

Ashton A.

Yelp
I have tried Bethesda bagels multiple times now and each time the bagel ends up being too dense and chewy for me to enjoy. The flavor is there, but the texture isn't quite right. Their cream cheese is okay, definitely prefer their plain to their chive/scallion. The green cream cheese feels too artificial for me to order again, but the creaminess is there. Not pictured, I ordered an egg and cheese and the cheese was not melted and the bagel was incredibly dry. Would come here in a pinch, but the quality and price is not worth it for me.
google avatar

Kaethe E.

Yelp
Fantastic! Those rainbow bagels are so fun! The avocado blt was great too! Definitely go again!
google avatar

Mara M.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong I ate this bagel and throughly enjoyed it. However I think I needed to add something because my ratio of bread so substance in the sandwich felt off. Will being go back to experiment with more from the menu. One last thing: I'm so appreciative that they have chocolate milk- I always need that when I'm feeling low and it was an awesome pick me up
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Solid bagel spot that's close to my office so I usually go here every now and then. I love their honey butter shemar!! Main reason I come here. The bagels are okay. I prefer my bagels more airy and fluffy and soft and these bagels were thinner and a bit crispier (could have been because they over toast them). Bagel sandwiches are the best bang for your buck in my opinion. Bagel with shmear is $4 alone and sandwiches are about $8-9.

Yelp
I ordered the lox with cream cheese on an everything bagel. The lox cream cheese was pretty good but the everything bagel was extremely salty. It was so salty that I could not finish it. I would not go back here.
google avatar

Jenna B.

Yelp
Yum yum yum. So many choices of bagels and cream cheese flavors, you could get different combos for weeks! Quick service, and they do mobile ordering also. Best for takeout.

Yelp
First time at Bethesda Bagels this past Sunday morning. The one downside is that there are only a few barstools to sit at -- definitely a takeout style place. They have a variety of bagels here and all pretty freshly made and very large. There were so many I wanted to try (blueberry, sesame, garlic, etc.) but I knew I had to stick to only one. They have a variety of different ways you can enjoy the bagel -- with just cream cheese, as a meat & egg sandwich, or if you're feeling it a bit fancy, lox bagel. MEAT & EGG BAGEL - 7 + garlic bagel + turkey sausage + scrambled eggs (there's egg white option and they don't up charge!) + pepperjack cheese (for that slight spice) If you're debating between sausage or turkey sausage, definitely go with the sausage. It's a lot more plump and enticing. The turkey sausage was kinda thin and it just didn't look as appetizing. Overall, the breakfast bagel was delicious and very filling. Again, the bagel is huge. The garlic was very prominent and a good choice with the breakfast bagel. The scrambled eggs were on the thinner side, not very fluffy. Pepperjack cheese gave it a kick of spice. If I lived in the Rosslyn area, I'd frequent this place more. Sadly, it's a bit out of reach!

Yelp
Bethesda Bagels is quite possibly the best thing about the DMV. Bagels are the perfect amount of fluffy, crispy, and chewy. Mini latkes are a wonderful addition. Coffees are big, service is quick, and they are a well-oiled machine even on busy mornings. And everything is relatively cheap!! As a New York bagel snob, I would sacrifice my first born child to this place. Gives me hope for the world.
google avatar

Dan L.

Yelp
Bagel was excellent - very good texture , not too chewy. Service was welcoming when ordering and when delivering. I ordered the Sun City with Pastrami without the sauce and it was delicious. I added a little salt and pepper. There's limited tables but everyone was friendly and we easily found a spot. Parking is a bit limited but we were able to find a spot on Connecticut fairly easy. The ambience is urban laced with bright pink and light blue palette all around.
google avatar

Tay W.

Yelp
If you are living in Arlington, and you're looking for a good bagel, Bethesda bagels is the place to go. This spot is now a part of my regular routine. Now that I have moved back in the area. The staff is friendly, and the choices are extensive. Although there's not a lot of space to dine in, there a a few bar-stoolish seats to do a quick chomp. I mean you are not coming for the ambience. You're coming for a good bagel...and BB's is the choice! Happy eating.

Yelp
So good! Must go. Great breakfast sandwiches and quick. Went back a second day after stopping in while we were in the area from out of town

Yelp
Ordered for online pick up around 9:15 for ASAP but after checking out it told me I can pick up by 9:45am. This made no sense to me. Several other people inside the store said the same thing. Should've have gone inside the store and to the register rather than ordering online. With that said, the bagel was great. I got it with a lox spread which I enjoyed as well. I hope the online ordering experience gets better.

Yelp
Maybe I didn't order the right bagel and cream cheese combinations, but I didn't enjoy my breakfast from Bethesda Bagels. The banana nut bagel was hard even after getting it toasted (and it costs more to get it toasted there). The banana flavor was barely there and the nuts gave it an odd taste. I asked for my cream cheeses to be on the side, but somehow got one of them already spread for me on the banana nut bagel. The cashier was lacking in clear communication and made ordering more confusing than it had to be. I did enjoy the cinnamon chip bagel more, and the strawberry cream cheese was really tasty. I wouldn't come back to try more though, as the bagels were too pricy for the mediocre quality and taste. I do not recommend this place.

Yelp
First time at Bethesda Bagels. Great place to pick up a bagel and coffee for a quick breakfast. I ordered a flagel egg cheese and pork roll sandwich. The sandwich was loaded with eggs and I really like the everything flagel. Coffee was just mediocre. It was roughly $10 which is a little on the pricey side for a breakfast sandwich and small coffee.
google avatar

Mimi W.

Yelp
I had the Nova on a plain bagel with chive cream cheese. OMG! It was really good. The bagel tasted fresh and soft and even though I was borderline full, it was so good I had to eat the whole thing. It's only a short walk from my office so I will definitely be visiting next time. I'm in the office. Service was friendly and quick. It's a small place with a little bit of a line, but they move very fast.

Wesley C.

Yelp
Great bagels! I've been here countless times and it always amazing. I will keep on coming back. Highly recommend

Kristina C.

Yelp
Delish and amazing customer service! Ordered a Nova BLAT and it was missing the salmon at first (honest mistake). The nice man handing out the orders fixed it super quickly and even threw in some fresh fruit for the inconvenience. Wish I knew his name to thank him. Made my Saturday morning!
google avatar

Amelia A.

Yelp
Genuinely a top contender for best bagel in the city! I think they're really consistent, it's always pretty quick even when there is a long line, and the taste and texture are immaculate!!! Highly recommend their steak! Very good. Also they are very nice about handling dietary restrictions!!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
One of the best bagel places in the arlington/DC area! Their bagels were light and had the perfect amount of chew to it. I ordered the nova and cream cheese on a plain bagel and thought it was really tasty, they add the perfect amount of cream cheese! I did add sprouts to the bagel though they added only a small amount. My boyfriend also enjoyed his bagel sandwich which had a pretty decent amount of meat. I think these bagels are reasonably priced - the nova and cream cheese bagel is almost $3 cheaper than Call your mother and I think Bethesda bagel's version is a lot better. This place does not have a lot of seating area (just a couple of chairs) but it's located in place that has tons of public outdoor seating.

Yelp
Bustling bagel spot that made me reminiscent of bagel shops that I would frequent in NYC. This is one location of a small chain which has 3 locations in MD, 2 in DC, and 1 in VA The place has a bunch of different bagel and cream cheese options, and all are made in-house! You can even see them making the bagels through the window There is one counter where you order, and, as I mentioned, the place is really busy so be ready to order when you get up there. Can order remotely for pick-up in order to avoid the pressure that comes with this When I came I got a multigrain bagel with lox and cream cheese. I was immediately impressed that their lox was fresh and sliced, and not just a lox-flavored cream cheese, and also that they add lettuce, tomato, and capers to the bagel sandwich. My bagel was sold, and it was also very large and filling. It wasn't the best bagel I've ever had, but it did the trick They have a small selection of refrigerated drinks, but they only have one coffee machine for both hot and iced coffee. Unfortunately though I got an iced coffee from the machine and it was un-drinkable In addition to their bagels they also have a selection of baked goods that looked pretty tasty and some sandwich options as well The place does not have a lot of seating area (just a couple of chairs) but it's located in place that has tons of public outdoor seating.

Paris P.

Yelp
Actual bagels from here are very high up on my list. The cream cheese is good too and they have a ton of flavor choices. Critiques- I don't love how hectic it is and it's hard to know when your order is up. Ordering online seems to be slower and it's never ready at the time it says it'll be. I'm complaining a lot in this but it's not about the actual food so I'm still giving 4 stars
google avatar

Karen V.

Yelp
It was a really good flagel! The only flagel flavor options were sesame and everything. I wish they had more flavors, but I was pleased with the sesame seed one. They had all different kinds of full size bagel options. I just wanted a thinner bagel, and I got just that. There is a whole menu of cream cheese. They have vegan, lite, savory, and sweet. I decided to try the olive cream cheese. It was definitely a generous schmear of cream cheese in this bagel. More cream cheese than bagel. I also saw that they have egg salad, chicken salad, hummus, and even whitefish salad. They open at 7am and close at 2pm. There were just a few customers when I arrived close to 7:15am. I did see a lot of larger delivery orders going out the door. Most likely headed to the businesses in the surrounding area. The service was quick and efficient. My flagel was crispy on the outside, and it was still warm when I got back to the hotel. The olive cream cheese was very tasty and satisfying. I'd go back for breakfast if I ever return to the Rosslyn area.
google avatar

Kathryn T.

Yelp
I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich to-go. The bagel itself was good, but it came with like 8 half slices of cheese, and the bacon was so crispy it was breaking out the sides. Next time, I'd opt for a bagel and cream cheese.

Demetra P.

Yelp
if you want a real east coast bagel in dc go to Bethesda bagels. Bagels are soo so fluffy and yummy and the people are so sweet
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Decently priced for the area with flavorful sandwiches. Very conveniently placed by the Rosslyn metro station.
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
Amazing bagels just like NY's. Probably the closest thing you can get to a NY bagel spot in DC. Service is pretty standard for any east coast business. Not much ambiance but it's a bagel shop. Recommend just ordering ahead and taking it to go. Anything bacon egg and cheese is a win. Add some avocado if you want to make it California style.
google avatar

Jada G.

Yelp
Since I moved to the DMV a few months ago, I've been on the hunt for the perfect bagel. Philly has seen a rise in bagel fiends like myself, and I KNEW such a foodie area would have something to quench my carb thirst. This place stopped me in my tracks. First of all, anywhere that has sundried tomato bagels is an automatic win because no one makes them anymore. Second, these things are humongous, especially the plain/everything. I love a good pillowly bagel, and these manage to be that and have a great crisp on the outside. I really can't emphasize enough how these aren't dense--some are /more/ dense due to their ingredients, but I haven't had a bad bagel. The veggie cream cheese was good, but definitely not anything to clamor for--I would probably get the retail stuff from the grocery store on sale if I had the choice. But, this find will make it hard for the rest of the bagel joints I have yet to try.
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
I love a good bagel and thankfully Bethesda Bagels has plenty. What's even better is they have plenty of vegan options and even vegan cream cheese! Such a wonderful treat.

Manuel L.

Yelp
waited in an empty line too long, 4 people talking to each other and SAW me there standing, makes no sense to me how they can see me there standing and not take my order. place is dirty, floor is sticky, coffee area is filthy.
google avatar

Steve Y.

Yelp
Good service. Nova and Cream Cheese Bagel was delish! Blueberry Muffin was legit. Like the vibe.
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
Before stepping up to the cashier to place your order please be ready. This is one busy shop with a constant flow of customers and Ubereats orders to go. I ordered the Jalapeno Cheese bagel toasted with spicy jalapeno cream cheese. They add the perfect amount of cream cheese and the bagel is chubby so it is very filling.
google avatar

Scottie G.

Yelp
The best bagels in the DMV are at Bethesda Bagels - hands down. Decently appointed interior with virtually no seating (though they have Adirondack chairs out front). BB is always pretty busy but the line moves quickly and considering how many orders they're dealing with - in store and online - food arrives quickly too. And they have Taylor Pork Roll!
google avatar

Jen J.

Yelp
These bagels are the best around! We drove out of our way to Bethesda because our local store had closed and didn't want to pay a crazy fee for delivery. Still so good! And their flavored cream cheeses are the perfect pair. Out only problem was that we arrived right before an entire girls' soccer team and their parents on a Sunday morning, so the wait was crazy long. But worth it after driving all that way!

morgan f.

Yelp
After waiting 35 minutes for my online order & experiencing terrible customer service, I open up my bagel and one side barely has any meat on it and no sauerkraut. Extremely dissatisfied with this experience.
google avatar

Christina P.

Yelp
It was good, the bagel was a little too toasted. The thing that tripped me up was the worker was pouring chlorine, water, and chemicals while someone was making the food. A little worried that the splash could get on the food and poison it bc it was literally right under the food station. Do not come here after 1. They'll be trying to clean up early and chemicals might splash onto your food.
google avatar

Emily D.

Yelp
Bethesda Bagels are the best bagels in the DC area. I just moved out of the area and now, every time I come back, I am going to go out of my way to bring a dozen (or two) with me. They constantly amaze me that they always get the order right - even if it is a very detailed, specific order of loose bagels like 5 egg bagels, 4 sesame, 2 poppy seed, etc. Their egg bagels are so huge, doughy, and perfect. Their cream cheese is also fabulous and creamy. My only feedback is that their breakfast sandwiches could be improved upon. I think their BEC or SEC is a bit bland compared to some of the other bagel shops, but I usually would order a bagel/cream cheese if I were coming here over a sandwich. Their bagels are so fantastic, I would pay to ship them if it was offered.
google avatar

My-Linh D.

Yelp
Great quick and grab to go bagel spot! They make their bagels and cream cheese in house. I highly recommend getting the jalapeño cream cheese, which has an amazing kick with the salmon bagel.

Campbell M.

Yelp
Delicious and large bagels. Quick service and the food was still very hot even though I picked it up 5 minutes late. I loved how many options the online menu provided. Pretty much everything was alterable. As someone who doesn't eat egg, I could easily select a meat and cheese bagel. There was lots of street parking, and it was very easy to run in and grab my order. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

K B.

Yelp
These bagels are great, just the right combination of soft and crispness, not a dense bagel. I got recommended both Bethesda Bagels and Call Your Mother and have to say - for the bagel itself: Bethesda Bagels takes the win for me.
google avatar

Angel P.

Yelp
I always miss NYC bagels and Bethesda Bagels usually help with my cravings. It's located near the Rosslyn station and it can get busy especially during the morning rush. I got myself a wheat everything bagel with cracked pepper & caramelized onion cream cheese. The bagel itself was good, a bit too dense for me, but overall a good bagel. The cream cheese is also good, not too overpowering and smeared the perfect amount.

Elly C.

Yelp
This bagel was MASSIVE. Ordered online, it was ready quick. Absolutely delicious and I love how many toppings you can add and all of the choices for bagels and cream cheeses. Will absolutely be back and I recommend it if you find yourself near one of their locations!
google avatar

Chad H.

Yelp
Quality bagel and the whitefish salad was quite good. I ordered an everything bagel with whitefish salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. Everything was fresh and delicious. They gave a pretty good amount of whitefish salad which I appreciated. You could see them making the bagels in the window, so you know they gotta be fresh. Looks like they have quite a variety of options on their menu. If you want egg whites, avocados, and more, they got it. I have basically skipped lunch today because the bagel was large and has fulfilled my hunger. Maybe I'll try some more of their menu in the future.
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
I have been hearing good things about Bethesda Bagels for years and finally got to try it this weekend! They had so many unique menu options as well as the classics. I was excited to try the red pepper cream cheese and it did not disappoint, it had tons of flavor. Also the size of their bagels are massive, they were so fresh and fluffy too. The line was long since I went on a Saturday morning, but we were so impressed with how quickly they got us our orders. Next time you're craving a bagel this is the place to go!
