An old-school favorite for al pastor, birria, and late-night plates. Featured in Edible Reno-Tahoe’s Taco Trek as an essential stop, and still a reliable fix for wet burritos, pozole, and menudo.

Here’s a NED-style review for Beto's Taqueria: --- ✅ What Works Well - Authentic Mexican flavors with fresh ingredients. - Delicious, well-seasoned tacos and flavorful salsas. - Casual, no-frills atmosphere perfect for a quick, satisfying meal. - Friendly service with a local, welcoming vibe. - Great value for quality Mexican street food. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Limited seating and simple setup—mostly takeout or casual dining. - Some dishes can be spicy, so ask if you prefer mild. - Not a place for formal dining or large groups. - Menu can be a bit small if you want variety. --- 🎯 Verdict Beto’s Taqueria is a go-to spot for authentic, tasty Mexican street eats in a laid-back setting. Perfect for taco lovers craving bold, fresh flavors without fuss. Rating: 4.1 / 5 --- Want recommendations on must-try tacos or sides?

I’ve been coming to Beto’s Taqueria for at least 20 years — probably longer, considering I lived in Reno from 2002 to 2015. Even though I don’t live here anymore, I still make it a point to stop by whenever I’m in town (which is about once a month). It’s always a comfort to see the same friendly faces behind the counter, get greeted with that same welcoming energy, and enjoy the food that reminds me of home. The consistency, quality, and heart they put into every meal never changes — and that’s exactly why Beto’s will always be my go-to spot in Reno.

Ok so this is my second time posting a 5star review on this very special place to eat!! It's been a few years since I last ate here and nothing has changed the absolute best quality of food service that this place has owned for generations . This restaurant makes my number one favorite dish ... ... The carne asada fries!!! I have had others since and aside from a taco truck in Sacramento none other comes close . I had a spiritual experience the first time I took a bite of this perfect dish!! And the taco truck could only match the quality of this place. Because perfect is perfect. Even beto's in Sacramento couldn't match this restaurant's carne asada fries. This is a must stop if you are in Reno NV they're located on West 5th St across from the northern NV hopes wellness center. You gotta try these fries. The key is to dip the bite into the salsa and you gotta request extra salsa. I'm sorry that you only got the last bite. I tried!!! Also even if you eat here order it to go you get more!! My trick.

This place a quaint and authentic. The service is friendly and fast. The menu is extensive with something for anyone who likes to dabble in Gudalajaran cuisine. Great flavors and colors. Nice options and prices. I will go back to try more for sure. The restaurant itself is dated… the food I gave 4 because it wasn’t enough that I tried to give it a five. No stomach discomfort after at least. With more visits I think my grade will go up. Overall, it’s in the neighborhood, tasty, friendly and I will be back. Thank you for being there. I definitely recommend this spot.

This place has really good food, so tasty! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice. parking lot, so no worries there. I'd definitely recommend it and will come back again.

Awesome people here. Tripas were perfectly cooked, we like them crispy, like bacon and they delivered. I had carne asada burrito, not bad at all... Chips were ok, but salsa made up for it.

I ordered chili poblano and it took a Good 40 min to arrive and it came cold. The service was poor. Their portions were tiny and prices were large. When a Mexican restaurant doesn’t offer their guests free salsa and chips, it means you should go the other way and this place is no exception to that. I do not recommend this place.

The pozole and the tacos are my go-to. Always consistent. BUT what’s inconsistent are their hours of operation. They say they close at 10pm daily and even have a huge sign right out front that says close at 10pm, but good luck trying to get dinner around 9pm because their lights are off, curtains closed, and doors locked. That’s how you lose loyal customers!
