Better Buzz Coffee Mission Beach

Wowza!! I am in love with their Vanilla bean caffe coffee and Hazelnut Divinity it's a must have They have a minimal items of pastry for sweet and salty variety but actually you will not need a lot of choices as all the pastries are tasty and fresh. I love the location being just a couple of steps away from the beach amazing staff, very welcoming vibes and nice ambience. note: it could get busy so please be patient

Better Buzz Coffee at Mission Beach has a lot going for it, especially its convenient location near Mission Bay Beach. We tried the hazelnut divinity latte, white mocha, conscious chocolate blended smoothie, chocolate croissant, and avocado toast. The drinks were rich and flavorful, with the hazelnut divinity latte being a standout. The chocolate croissant was excellent, perfectly flaky and rich. The avocado toast was good but could use more seasoning to enhance its taste. On the downside, the cafe offers only one size of coffee, which is quite large. Introducing at least two size options would be a welcome change. Additionally, drinks were served in disposable cups. I’d expect ceramic cups at a cafe, especially as I try to avoid using paper and plastic unnecessarily. The service was rude; the baristas seemed preoccupied among themselves, which affected the overall experience. While there’s room for improvement, the cafes ambiance and proximity to the beach make it worth a visit for a relaxing coffee break.

Good coffee, gets busy in the morning but you can order online! Also opens at 430 am everyday which is nice for early birds

Tasty drinks and kind staff! We came and got americanos but they had a lot of interesting options on the menu too! Lots of seating and natural light from the windows. Great place to get some espresso!

This is a FANTASTIC coffee shop! The coffee is amazing, the atmosphere is great but most of all, the service, out of this world! Visiting from out of town, after walking in and ordering coffee on my first day, the staff remembered my name in my second visit! Such a small detail but it goes such a long way in making a person feel welcomed! They even helped me set up their app on my phone so that I could get points for every purchase and I even got a free drink during my bday month! We walked to Better Buzz for our morning coffee, I was hoping for a decent cappuccino. I took my first sip and finally felt happy. This is the best cup of coffee I’ve found in the US so far. Thank you. Accompanied it with an almond croissant which was also delicious and had a delicious marzipan centre. Will keep an eye out for Better Buzz coffee locations in future. I would love to know what beans you use!

I love coming to this Better Buzz! I always get the turkey aïoli pesto sandwich for lunch and take it to the beach for the perfect break. The coffee is delicious especially the homemade vanilla bean latte and their smoothies are delicious as well! Service has always been really friendly, which I love and makes me return!

I walked into a proper coffee shop, Their single origin espresso was divine. My barista even made my drink with some latte art. I loved the environment that they had, seemed like they all love working there.

I ordered pickup from this Better Buzz Coffee location today. Although the order was not made correctly, they were willingly to made the correction without any issues. This location has a lot of seating inside with some outdoor seating options. It is located near a lot of other businesses on Mission Blvd so you could explore the area surrounding it. We ordered the nitro cold brew with the vanilla cream. The cream on top is thick cream that almost tastes like vanilla ice cream. The sweetness of the cream pairs nicely with the bitterness of the nitro cold brew. This drink was delicious! There is a variety of cold or hot drinks to choose from at Better Buzz Coffee. They also have some food options. We enjoyed our coffees at Better Buzz Coffee and would return!

This is a cute little spot that was close to our rental and I really enjoyed the matcha tea latte my husband got the horchata and said is was pretty good. One thing I need to note is the parking is awful but I believe that speaks for anything in mission bay . The barista was kind and it was a very quiet place to just go and relax with some good brew . This will be my third visit at this location and I have enjoyed each one .

I don't live in California, but every time I come to California I will be looking for this place. Awesome coffee, awesome atmosphere, great service. Probably my favorite coffee shop.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The inside was very nicely done and clean. Coffee was excellent. The only downsides were finding parking and it's a bit pricey (almost $17 for two drinks with tip). But even then it keeps its 5 stars!

This is cute little coffee shop in Mission Beach SD. They have coffee, smoothies and pastries/cookies type of grab and go food . The service was fast . I ordered the mango energy smoothie which was pretty refreshing

There's nothing better than a good coffee buzz. We recently rented an Airbnb next to Better Buzz Coffee. A dangerous decision considering I can't get enough of this coffee shop and it's unique beverages. I ordered a round of drinks for the girls via their website. When we arrived for pick up, all drinks were perfectly prepared. We ordered a variety of options, but my favorite was their Snickerdoodle Latte with oat milk. This drink had the perfect amount of sweet to caffeine. Parking can be a bit difficult in this beach town, so I'd highly recommend walking/biking if possible.

I came here a couple of times during my recent visit to Mission Bay. They have good coffee, including the Best Drink Ever, Horchata Latte, and Honey Latte...but most drinks were too sweet for my liking. I would order them half or less sweet next time around. Also, the Horchata Latte had too strong of a certain flavor...I think it was the cinnamon. For food, I ordered their turkey pesto sandwich which I thought tasted great and was a nice breakfast item. The coffees shop is very modern and has a lot of instagram-ready spots for photos.

Life truly is "Better when you're Buzzed!!" A must stop coffee shop, Better Buzz has specialty coffees to wow your taste buds and classic creations to satisfy even the snobbiest coffee drinker. Their locations are prime for photo-ops, BeReals, and Instagram stories, with decorated walls, a variety of seating and large garage door fronts that are open when the weather is good. We have been to other Better Buzz locations so we couldn't pass up trying this new location, and our coffee on the beach. I mean what better way to enjoy coffee than a morning walking along the beach. Our first time we ordered the Best Drink Ever (Americano with creamy vanilla - FYI it's pretty sweet and the vanilla is a creamy powder), it was a bit too sweet for the hubby so next time he ordered it 1/2 sweet. I ordered the Hazelnut Divinity with oat milk, 1/2 sweet (upon the barista's recommendation) and it was so freakin' good! 2nd time going I ordered a Honey Oat Latte which was also amazing! Sad we don't have Better Buzz in Utah or I would be there everyday. Literally made our mornings getting coffee and walking the beach. HIGHLY recommend.

We went here as a group and some drinks we liked were mocha with oatmilk, black coffee, and hazlenut divinity. One person got the iced horchata latte and liked it as well. The vibe here is cute and bee-themed. I appreciated all the little details in the decor. I would recommend this place if you are in San Diego and want to check out a nice non-chain coffee spot. Parking might be a little tough as there is no lot (street only)

Spontaneous stop to show a visiting friend some of the good coffee in San Diego. Loved the aesthetic and the drink! Lot of options to choose from, and both friend and husband went for the Horchata Iced Latte (It is was espresso, housemade sweetened cinnamon rice milk, almond milk & cinnamon sugar) Such a delicious combination, And so perfect for a bit afternoon. I would recommend very light ice, because they just fill up the glass with ice and then there is barely any coffee.

Just got breakfast sandwiches and a coffee... usually go to hillcrest location where i live but was in the area. Super disappointed! The food is worrrrrlds better at the Hillcrest location. You can tell its microwaved here. Totally different and less tasty. I'm here to edit my review and bump it up two stars as I have been reimbursed for my breakfast, but I didn't care for With that, I do warn people that they do indeed microwave eggs, which is fine if that's what you're into but I'm glad to know Hillcrest is the location lucky enough to have a flat top. I think it makes a big difference and I will stick to getting food there I still love Better Buzz especially with great customer service. Thanks BB

We got the ham and cheese croissant, the acai bowl, and the chili crunch breakfast wrap. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious, the acai bowl was frozen, and then the chili crunch wrap had little flavor. The service was prompt and when I went to buy two extra shots bc the coffee was weak- hubs got a dark roast and I got a decaf americano- both tasted like hot water- they gave the shots complimentary. The ambiance is very trendy, happening, vibey and cute.

I've never heard of this coffee place before but my SIL wanted to get some coffee here.. and thankfully it wasn't too far of a walk from our air bnb.. the first time I ordered a vanilla latte and the 2nd time I got the honey latte which was pretty good.. I'll defin know where to get coffee when we come back.. cute little place!

Service was rude. Placed an order for three items, two came out separately and after asking for the third I was greeted with a condescending glare and that it was being worked on. After asking a different person, again, I was asked very sharply "WHAT IS MISSING!?" Deep breath taken so not to raise a scene, shared what I was missing and viola, order filled. Names are common, mine is Aaron, spelled Erin by the order taker. The condescending glare received was because they were working on another Aaron's drink that was ordered about six customers after mine. Sharing here because this would have undoubtedly fallen on deaf ears in person.

Super busy spot, Vanilla Bean Latte and Vanilla Caramel Latte (half sweet on both) were delish! The kiddos enjoyed Iced Matcha's.

Shockingly I had never tried better buzz until last week. It did not disappoint. I tried the pumpkin chai and it was AMAZING. It wasn't too sweet or too spicy, it was just perfect. The girls working were super nice and made our drinks pretty fast. It's super cute inside and they have lots of tables if you want to chit chat or get some work done.

I like this place! This place is packed because the locals know the coffee is good here. My latte was good. Coconut yogurt bowl was also very delicious! The wifi works here but the reception on my phone was terrible in this part of town. Take your coffee and walk along the beach!

Solid coffee shop in mission beach. The online order option is super convenient so you can order then walk right over and pick it up by the time you get there. The açaí bowls were good but not the best we had in MB.

Better Buzz came highly recommended to me... so I had to check it out and... WOW, I'm so glad I did! When in need of coffee in Mission Beach, Better Buzz is your place to go! I have to race about the gluten-free paradise bar - it was the BEST gluten-free pastry I have ever had! And I have tried a lot of gluten-free pastries... so that's saying A LOT! My drink of choice was a quad oat milk mocha - spectacular! Amazing! Wonderful! And the perfect compliment to my gluten-free paradise bar! Everything was amazing but the only thing I have to complain about is that I was VERY unsatisfied with my acai bowl. Last time I came here my bowl was PACKED. Today I was left feeling disappointed because my bowl wasn't even full . Guess you only get half of what you pay for.... Lol. don't think I will be back because of this unfortunately

A Better Buzz right next to the beach? Doesn't get much better than this. I will say it is a pretty location that gets quite busy, so I would recommend to order through the mobile app to make your pick up easier. I've gotten multiple drinks from this location and it doesn't disappoint especially when I want a Morning Coffee to have on the beach!

Loved coming in every morning to get my coffee while staying in mission beach. It was right across the street from where we were staying. Coffee is excellent and service is always friendly!

I absolutely love better buzz. It's in another league compared to Starbucks, which in my opinion burns their coffee beans and creates bitter drinks that need to be pumped full of syrup to taste good... I love love all the milk options that better buzz offers. The one downside is .... I wish that better buzz would stop filling the majority of the cup up with ice to save costs... it's crazy to spend 7-8$ on a iced latte 16oz with ice really equals 10oz Idk you do the math.... It's my one complaint. Other than that love'em!

Best coffee in the area! Chai latte was great as well. -1 star because the employees were not aware about dairy allergies. I had to give up dairy since I am breastfeeding my baby who is lactose intolerant. I asked if the acai bowls have dairy. The cashier was very confused and wasn't sure what I was asking. She said the acai has apple juice in it, which is not dairy. I had to explain to her that dairy is milk, so things like milk or butter. I asked if the granola had dairy. She said she had to go to the back to check, couldn't find out then went to the front and asked another employee. The other employee said she didn't know. The cashier came back and said "I don't think it does." I ended up chancing it and I think my baby is ok so far. It would be great if the employees were given a chart of the major allergens in the food items so they can check it when someone asks.

Delicious and strong coffee! I tried the hazelnut drink at the barista's recommendation and really enjoyed it; it was just a little too sweet for me, even though I ordered it with half the sugar. Also, the cup was filled nearly all the way with ice so I didn't feel like I got much drink for what I paid. Still, the service was friendly and quick and I enjoyed the open-air ambience of the cafe. You also can't beat its location- right across the street from the beach. I'd come back in a heartbeat (and probably will before I leave SD!).

I waited in line on a Friday morning for about 20 minutes. Drink: best drink ever - it was a little too sweet for my taste, but the coffee shop gives you the option to get your drinks with less sweetness. If sweet coffees are not for you, then I would make sure to ask for less sweet. Food: yogurt bowl with coconut yogurt - I ordered this with almond butter for an extra $1, but they forgot to put it in the yogurt. I didn't go up and ask for the almond butter because they were super busy, but I wish I did! The yogurt bowl was delicious and I think the almond butter would've added a yummy, nutty flavor to the bowl.

Have you been yet? It sure what you're waiting as they have the best coffee around. The have of course The Best Drink Ever but also many others including a honey latte and delicious Carmel options. The smoothies are refreshing after a day on the beach. The vibe is very chill, definitely the best rest between destinations.

A perfectly fine coffee place. We went at least once a day for the week we visited. The food and drinks were adequate, and so was the service. Very cute and fun music playing.

Horrible service coming from a barista! short ginger head girl didn't call out my name for my order, I had asked for her to remake my drink for it was only half way filled up and she kept stating "it's cause the whip melted" to then not add my caramel to my remade drink.

I call on Friday to place order and the woman on phone was very rude, she keep repeating her name over and over and not helping me. I don't speak english very well and it felt very wrong towards me I heard many good things from the BetterBuzz and wanted to try I was very upset by the woman yelling at me on the phone her name over again Mag DO NOT CALL HERE VISIT HERE very mean people BAD seervice

Picked up coffee for friends today and ordered online. Drinks and baked goods were ready upon arrival, order was accurate and drinks were piping hot. To go trays were readily available making it easy to get out the door. Workers were friendly. Drinks were tasty. They have a great matcha! Definitely check this place out if you want some good coffee.

Better Buzz coffee located near mission beach is a great place to go to grab a coffee and snack. The staff was very kind and the shop was cute and trendy. I got the ham and cheese croissant and it was one of the best I've had in awhile. The cheese pull could not have been any more satisfying. I would definitely come back here and check out their other breakfast options in the future.

Bummer Buzz ruined the 3 seed avo toast... I can tell it's an avo spread now not just mashed fresh avocado and they pour so much 3 seed on it I can barely taste the avo anyway... They made a lotus flower on my to go latte...so that was impressive!

I ordered the "best drink ever" and the caramel latte iced. I loved the "best drink ever" ($4.99). I opted for half the sweetness and less ice and it was PERFECT! The americano with creamy vanilla was the perfect balance. The coffee aftertaste wasn't too strong, just right. The caramel latte in large was a bit of a miss for me. It was WAY too sweet. We got that at the regular sweetness and honestly, it was like pure sugar. Considering it was the regular sweetness; I'm surprised they considered that as the regular. You can still taste the aftertaste of the coffee but the caramel sweetness was way too overboard. I'd definitely recommend getting half the sweetness for that and maybe then it would be as bad. Also when I went in the afternoon about 2 hours prior to closing the guy said they didn't have any more hot coffees only cold. So just FYI! Overall, I'd definitely stop by again if I'm in town for the "best drink ever".

Props to Kailee (hope I'm spelling that right, Buzz does not do nametags) for being the class-A human I expect from a class-A coffee shop. We rarely hit this Better Buzz as we live on the other side of town, but an unfortunate home reconstruction issue had us in a Mission Beach Air BNB for a month. Could be worse places to get stuck. This Better Buzz is similar to the rest. Fun decor, a variety of options in terms of drinks and food, as well as some gluten-free brownies/pastries too. Served with a smile as fast as gravity lets the coffee can be poured. There is a very small outdoor section, but seeing as you're 1/2 a block from the bay, and 1 block from the beach... doesn't really matter. Being Mission Beach though there is very limited street parking on the weekends, so plan accordingly if you're driving vs. walking.
