Between the Bread Cafe

Hands down the most DELICIOUS Reuben sandwich I’ve ever had. We stopped in here on a whim and we are so glad we did. The potato salad and the potato and broccoli soup were also heavenly. Great food and great hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

I had the pleasure of visiting Between the Bread on Saturday afternoon, and this visit was all about trying everything that’s literally put between the bread. I sampled an array of dishes and let me tell you, it was a feast! I tried the salmon, cranberry kale salad, coleslaw, potato salad, sweet potato pudding, peach cobbler, and so much more. However, the top three standouts were the over-the-top Reuben sandwich, the crab mac and cheese, and the Arnold Palmer. It doesn't get better than this. The Reuben was AMAZING—packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. The crab mac and cheese was incredibly cheesy and delicious, hitting all the right notes. And the Arnold Palmer? Quite literally the best I’ve ever had. A special shoutout to Renata, the manager, who was a kind soul with a sweet and welcoming attitude. Her presence added to the overall great experience. I will definitely be coming back to Between the Bread!

A classic sandwich…tasty, tender, & thick!! Their Sweet Potato Pudding…STAMP!! Completely unique, soft, & fresh. Their Chunky Chocolate Chip (with & w/o pecans $3.50 for 3). Their Bread Pudding ($ ). STAMP!! This bread pudding needs to be on shelves. Moist, rich, sweet, & soft!! Their Peach Cobbler ($8). LIKE THAT!! It’s giving Aunty from out of town cobbler!! My mom requested a birthday cake from here. She chose the lemon pound cake - it was amazing! Super moist, right amount of weight - not too dense but lightish, with delicious lemon flavor and a perfect glaze. Everyone went for seconds! My mom said that the coconut cake is even better! Hard to believe! Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. We went in for the first time and they explained the menu and we got to try samples of their soups (both the potato soup and the Maryland crab soup). They were so delicious! We ordered the club and Reuben, as our sides we got potato salad and sweet potato puddin. Everything was super flavorful and fresh, but the sweet potatoes were really what stood out to me. The sandwiches were packaged perfectly in little boxes, and they came with a pickle and a mint. I can’t wait to go in and try their baked goods next.

Woah, y'all. So I was able to try quite a few things here. I tasted their chicken noodle, turkey chili, and broccoli potato soups; the potato salad; samples of the bread pudding and lemon infused cake; and the REUBEN. Every first bite I had of all of these, I genuinely had to pause and slow down my chewing. The food here is luxuriously seasoned. Portion-wise, they stuff the reuben generously and the soup is massive. Easily enough for two meals for me. On top of that, Renata and John were delightful! If you can't tell from this review, I will be going back

Sandwiches made fresh and hot, good flavours. I got a veggie sandwich, potato salad, and an Arnold Palmer. Would recommend all the above. One table inside for sitting, or take-out. Staff were really friendly, I’ll be back!

Great little sandwich place! The reuben is fantastic! Everyone that works here is so friendly and welcoming. Great cookies and chicken salad too!

I saw this cafe I believe on the Hyattsville Wire Instagram. I love sandwiches so I placed Between the Bread on my list of places to try. I was greeted by the two employees. It was an older man and a young lady. They were very nice. I wanted to try the seafood lovers but they didn't have any. So I got the shrimp salad on croissant. The bread was amazing. For my side, I got the potato salad. I also got a slice of cake and an Arnold Palmer. I can't wait to return!

Driving down route one in downtown Hyattsville you could blink, and Miss this great little deli. Those of you familiar with old Hyattville the location for between the bread Café is just a couple stores down from Franklin's which is an institution in the area The owner is always on site working hard to make truly outstanding sandwiches. The day I was there she also had homemade chicken noodle soup, broccoli, cheese, soup, and turkey chili. She gave me samples of all three and all three were outstanding. What is really worth putting on the brakes for when you're traveling down route one is there fresh baked chocolate chip cookies you can either get the traditional chocolate chip cookies or one that has extremely generous amount of pecans in it. I would have to rank them as one of the best chocolate chip cookies in the area by far. When you walk into the establishment, you're not just your family.!

The sandwich and side were great. I'm not a Reuben sandwich guy, but it looked so good being prepared for another customer that I will try it on that marble rye bread next visit. I wish the pickle slice was bigger. However, the portion of Pastrami overshadowed the pickle and cold slaw side (which was rich and filling). Because of the popularity and the fact that it's a three person operation, there may be a bit of a wait. But the comradery made the wait worth it.

Love, love, love this place! Their sandwiches, soups, and desserts are all awesome across the board! Their owners and staff are so delightful too! Its always pleasant stopping in!

Fantastic service and ambiance. The food is absolutely delectable! I opted for the turkey sandwich on a croissant, it was so large that I couldn't manage to finish it all in one sitting. Highly recommended!

Without question, this was the most pleasant lunch experience I have had in a long time. The food was unbelievable. The presentation was over the top. Toni and John were so friendly and charismatic, I felt like family. The "flight" of testers was more than I expected and of course was reason to take dinner home as well!
