Where Portland Bartenders Eat and Drink on Their Days Off | Eater Portland

"A 28th mainstay since before the street became a main drag for fine dining and trendy drinking, Beulahland is a rambling hodgepodge of mismatched vibes. Any given night will find drag queens, soccer fanatics, and neighborhood karaoke divas crowding around the slightly angled rail. Baby Doll’s Celia Nappi, who’s tended bar in Portland, Pennsylvania, and parts of Ohio, enjoys Beulah’s conversational atmosphere. “It’s very much like a Cheers-y type spot,” Nappi says. “Once you become a regular, it’s a nice thing after a shift to be able to talk about movies or music or whatever.”" - Ben Coleman

So glad we went here! Burgers and drinks were amazing, plus they have Simpson's pinball. ❤️

Mashall Sharma

Google
Quirky bar with lots of cocktail options! Only bar I've seen in a while with PBR on draft! Good onion rings! Popped in for a friend's art show! Great neighborhood dive vibe. Think this is the place for soccer for the neighborhood!

PDX Ripcity

Google
The place looked interesting. I decided to check it out. The bartenders here don't like talking to people. You're job is to interact with the public. I got a burger. I'm not a fan of wasting food. I couldn't finish it. It was terrible. Top 10 worst burgers I ever had. The moment that hit gut was blah. It's a chill area. I'll give them that.

Google
Fun dive bar with an amazing cocktail menu! The bartender Heather makes the whole experience even better 🙌 She is so friendly and always creates a welcoming vibe. She’s also very knowledgeable and makes super fun drinks that taste bomb!!!

Brandi Lowe

Google
I am a long time patron, so I was very surprised when I asked sensitive questions to apparently one of their best patrons. They left too quickly to ask and the staff and their girlfriends

Google
Great neighborhood spot for people watching. Service is excellent

Google
I love this place- great beers, pinball and a sweet patio.

Mark Brown

Google
First of all when it comes to bartending, Heather is one of a kind. I ordered their “Onion Queen,” and as someone who’s a burger enthusiast, it’s was HOLY MOLY GOOD! I would highly recommend for dive bar vibes good drinks and great food. Shout out to Mitch, who made the best dive bar burger I have ever had!

Yelp
Acceptable pub fair for our late-night needs. Got some side-eye from some folks I assume are regulars. This place feels divey, but it also too large and open to really be that way? Beulatiful(?) hot dog was decent. Never had a dog with a whole strip of glazed bacon on it before. Solid patty melt. Good, hot fries. Can't rave about this based on our (limited) experiencez but it seems like it could be a fun neighborhood spot.

Yelp
This is a bar with tons of space, a great patio that you can smoke on, and an artist in the kitchen!! This hotdog might be the most gorgeous hotdog we've ever seen in our life! WOW! A true work of art!! Our hats off to the Chef! Thank you x100! They have late night food and Jell-O shots always!
google avatar

Yelp
Regulars only. Don't come here unless you've been here before. They are not welcoming, so rude and not worth your business. We walked in as a small group, everyone looked our way and the man at the door was incredibly rude. No thank you. We turned around and walked out.

Yelp
Great neighborhood pub, great Arsenal FC bar, great food. And a few more words to make that 85-character word count!

Yelp
Is this a dive bar? Is it an eatery? Whatever Beulahland wants to call itself, I'm down. This was just steps away from our Airbnb and boy were we glad we stumbled upon this gem. I wish this place existed in my neighborhood. This place is dark, fun, and a great place to hang out with friends. Two bartenders handling the situation for the entire place and they did it well. Service was great, drinks were cheap and well poured, and the company fantastic. This is a local place that takes great care of their clientele. You will not be disappointed when you step up to the bar and order your choice of libations. They will be served with expertise and efficiency.

Neil A.

Yelp
been coming here for years and love it. but one star off because... they removed nachos from the menu! you had the best nachos in town! how could you take away the nachos? BRING BACK THE NACHOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Melissa K.

Yelp
This Portland gem of a bar has it all. Quality cocktails, craft beers and delicious snacks. Pool, pinball and Timbers games. Patio is small but does the job. To top it all off: Bartenders know what they are doing and are all very cool. I will say I miss their breakfast menu but understand.

Yelp
First, the name. I was always intrigued by the name. What's "Beulahland"? Well, my friends, Beulah is a biblical reference to the land of the Israelites--a land to which they will return, and which is described as an earthly paradise. So Beulahland is heaven on earth, get it? That is, if heaven is a cozy dive-bar. I've lived in walking distance to this place for going on 20 years now, so I always think of Beulahland as one of those last vestiges of "Old Portland". That said, it's not exactly "old-old". I think it was opened in 1997. Still, 1997 Portland was a much different place. Much grungier, but also more working class that PMC. This stretch of 28th Avenue was a lot sketchier, with Beaulahland and Hungry Tiger (bad Chinese food and stiff cocktails, R.I.P.) and the Lauralhurst Theatre, and Holman's, and also a good number of boarded up store fronts. It's long since gentrified, with recent installments of the now ubiquitous five story spanking new apartment buildings and more upscale establishments. Beulahland is an anchor of old 28th, and I love it for that. This place has a punk rock vibe to me, but it's not punk rock bar. It's more like (as many people claim) a divey Cheers. A friendly neighborhood bar. It's got a huge wrap around bar that sort of divides the place into 3 segments. The front has a few windowfront seats, and the rest is divided left and right. On the left you have TV, pinball, and cozy seats. On the right you have this odd wood panelled seating area reminiscent of the animatronic Country Bear Jamboree at Disneyland. Beauland has breakfast and brunch daily, and lunch and dinner. The food is decent pub style, but by no means fancy. Good burgers and fries. Full bar, with well made cocktails and attentive bartenders. Decent taps. There is street side outdoor seating a la Covid-19. It's just a super chill place to hang out with friends and have a drink and a bite.

Yelp
I once read a fine book about "bar bars." I don't remember all the criteria, but I think Beulahland comes close without quite attaining bar-bar status. It's definitely a bar, though -- something getting strangely rare in Portland, where many of the old bars either turn upscale or close. (Although with Holman's reopening, we now have at least two bars in the 28th and Burnside area, very cool.) The food menu looks quite basic, making it clear you come here for the drinks, not the food. (I have not eaten there, maybe the hot dogs or quesadillas are fabulous, I don't know.) It seems a little too big, airy and well lit, and the clientele a little too young, to be a bar bar. But during a pandemic (yes, it's still going on, folks), the airiness is quite a virtue, even if it reduces the classic bar atmosphere. There is ample sidewalk seating, covered but not heated, and very popular even during cold weather (just have another drink). There are big open windows, with seating on both sides of the window and the windowsill serving as a table, so some of your party can be inside and some out if you wish! The outdoor seating is quite lively, and gets livelier as the night goes on -- boisterous discussion, sometimes dancing happens. Check it out.

Yelp
The environment is definately divey and a good atmosphere for watching soccer matches, and the pours are generous enough to leave you coming back again. HOWEVER... Myself and several family members patroned this bar last year and ordered mozzarella cheese sticks, and I must say, they were incredible. These cheese sticks had the right crisp, excellent breading, and the most appropriate amount of cheese gooeyness that had our group actively discussing how great these bad boys were. Fast forward a year, and my sister and I returned to the establishment after discussing these cheese sticks a few days prior. We even sent each other cheese stick emojis and gifs in exciting anticipatiion to once again enjoy one of our favorite snacks. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that mozzarella cheese sticks were not listed on their menu (which is unfortunately located above and behind you when you place your bar order :/). When asked about said sticks, the barkeep said "we have never served cheese sticks". This was to my surprise, as I (and my wife, brother-in-law, and sister) have a clear memory of enjoying these treats. I insisted that they had served them before, but the barkeep was steadfast in his denial that they had never served them, ever. When my sister arrived shortly after, she was shocked to learn of this news. She, like me, insisted to the barkeep they had served them before, or perhaps had a 3rd party popup serve them. The barkeep, unmoving and with dead eyes, told us we were not only mistaken, but wrong for thinking of such a thing. This banter went back and forth for a few minutes, and to ease the tension, I suggested they post a pic of any future mozzarella sticks on social media... so we know, and will come back to enjoy. "We will never... ever... serve cheese sticks" was the stern response. "How come?" my sister asked. "They effed with our fryer" the barkeep said. THIS implies they have, in fact, served, or attempted to serve them before. I want to like this bar, but they must admit to the truth, that mozzerella cheese sticks were served in this establishment, and they were in fact delicious. -Disappointed mozzarella cheese stick connoisseur

Yelp
The heavy set bouncer with a beard was super uncool for no reason we were being very respectful and he made us feel unwelcome and quite frankly uncomfortable for seemingly no reason.

Marcus H.

Yelp
the karaoke here is absurd. they only let regulars sing and if you're not don't even try. really frustrating

Yelp
We all wish for the everything bar: good and creative drink, great food, vibe, service, and maybe parking. They scored on all the aforementioned, with the food just okay. The Iced Spanish Coffee hit the spot on a hot day. Kudos to Beulahland for creating a vibrant World Cup viewing venue. They satisfy various needs.

Yelp
Great vibe, good people. Cheers meets It's Always Sunny meets Taxi, but the scene is real and the staff may or may not know your name. Don't bother queuing at the well: Just belly up to an open spot and order. Reminds of being home at my favorite bar in NYC on a deep emotional level.
google avatar

Josephine C.

Yelp
Fun dive bar but the busser/bar back was rude when he walked to our table. We were still drinking / celebrating my bachelorette and he made it a point to come up and grab our empty glasses and rudely say "next time just bring them to the bar." Weird. It was a round of four drinks. I bartend and I've never said that to a paying customer. I'm not going to complain about picking up Empty dishes - it's part of the job. We're from out of down but we probably won't be coming back the next time we come to Portland.

Yelp
This is a really cool comfortable bar. The music is not too loud and service is excellent. They have three sections as you walk in. The middle section is small and has a couple of tables. The right section has a big screen TV. The left section has few small tables and the actual bar area. There is also a small outdoor seating area by the sidewalk. Their beer selection could be improved though, and if I remember correctly, they have mixed drinks. The food is excellent here, and they have a few very well-thought-out vegan items. There is only one bathroom, and it seems that it's always occupied. If you use the bathroom, make sure the lock latches if you don't want someone walking in on you :-)
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
Always a chill place to grab drinks with friends. It's a spacious place that has some unique decorations, but seems to fit right in the neighborhood. The drinks are not spendy and the food is decent.
google avatar

Alicia F.

Yelp
Even the bar bat is ready for a party! Great eclectic joint. The gluten free waffle will make reconsider gluten free. Coffee was so satisfying. Dutch Bros can jump off! Sweet waitress was timely and ready for a bit of conversation. Real people eat here...not tourist. Small menu makes choosing a breeze. Super full. Super satisfied
google avatar

Chad C.

Yelp
I've only been here twice, and those two visits were about five years apart (the most recent of which was just last weekend), but I've never not had a great time here. The overall vibe is laid back, the prices are decent, and the service is great! The back patio has some really interesting design choices, thanks to a small garden/tree area where a bike has been planted. Their kitchen is open late, but their full menu isn't served late into the night, unfortunately - so when you're done drinking for the night and need a stack of pancakes with a healthy side of bacon, you'll need to head elsewhere. Be sure to check out the vending machines - fully stocked with copies of Wayne's World on VHS and crayons!

Yelp
I cannot, for the life of me, pronounce the name of this place. Even though I've been told about 46 times how to say it...I still usually mumble something like BayyuHHuulaaawwwwuhhhhawwwland. I don't know how to spell it either, when telling friends where I am, I am not going to just say "B-land". It's hard to describe what kind of bar it is... I'm not a regular and every time I go it's a little different. It's a little bit the "H-word" a little bit dive-ish a little bit local hangout. It's one of the few bars with a darker, 'been here a while" sort of ambiance in the area...there are many bars in Portland with this feel, but very few on the NE/SE divide. They've got a photobooth, and the bartenders are extremely snappy and attentive, don't be dicking around on your phone when it's your turn to order or you'll probably be passed over (as you should be). Beer selection is decent but not great. You'll always bee able to find something decent, but the beers are more predictable local standards (stuff like HUB IPA and a local red ale) than more esoteric, exotic beers or beers from the more coveted local breweries. Again, this goes more with the "local people that live in the area" vibe. As I said earlier, I only poke in here occasionally so I'm not very familiar with any of the specials/"nights" here. Sometimes they have a DJ, sometimes they have a movie, and sometimes they play odd music videos. They serve food here until pretty late, and it's pretty decent. I apologize for this review being so informative and ho-hum, I'm really hungry right now...passion levels running LOW.

Alex M.

Yelp
Food was shit, staff was attitudinal. Owner proudly supports Trump. Music is occasionally decent, they got a couple cool pinball machines. Don't give these pricks your money.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Best place to grab a quick bite and drink in Portland. Come watch a blazer game here! Great vibes and they play the games on all screens. They even open up on Mondays for the game sometimes.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the basic brekky. It comes with two eggs any style, potatoes, and toast for $9.00! They give you the option to add bacon, pork sausage or chicken apple sausage for an extra $2.00! Even though it was a simple meal the bacon was burnt and the toast tasted like it was a day old. Boo :(

Yelp
I've been going here for years. I did my taxes here in both 2007 and 2008. Good beer, great music, old Portland. Recently they have added more vegan options to the menu. Yay! I got the new banh mi. I love a good tofu banh mi. The tofu and sriracha mayo were tops. All in all the fillings were great. But I couldn't eat the bread. It was really dry. Really scratchy. Had like rye seeds. Quite hard to physically eat and did not taste good. And not fitting for a banh mi. My friend got another vegan (soy curl) sandwich. Neither of us could stomach the bread and just ate the fillings. I probably won't eat here again until they get new bread, but if you do, I would recommend getting either sando as a wrap. Both fillings were great. Only 3 stars because both sandwiches we tried were on this horrible bread. I spoke to the super nice bartender and she said the bread they serve those sandwiches on was the only vegan bread their bread vender had. (Well then get a new bread vendor. A baguette or ciabatta worth its weight should be vegan -- among many other breads.)

Yelp
Great local bar. Good people, great drinks, friendly bartenders too. Soul night is fantastic. Overall I'd say this is one of my fav bars in Portland.
google avatar

Dan R.

Yelp
What better than a place you can just walk in and feel comfortable. It's dark, dive-ish, bigger than you might expect. Good beer selection and tasty cocktails. Fine service. Didn't have any food. Was there with friends after a fine dinner, so we brought plenty jolly with us. Place surprising emopty, though maybe 8:30 on a saturday night isn't yet prime time for the target crowd. The bar has a bit of a slope where drinks can slide. And there's a most amazing vending machine.

Yelp
I've been unofficially having "breakfast" here for years. During the 2014 World Cup, a Modelo rep taught the bartender how to make cheladas and we had them with toast. This place makes at least a half-dozen new regulars every time there's a World Cup, but I love the DJs, the artists' vending machine, the pinball, the expanding menu and the fact that this place is there for whatever you need it to be. I've been here for birthdays, for matches and for just random Tuesday afternoons. I'm bummed that drafts are up to $6 (I saw Guinness here for $8 and almost left out of instinct) and that even terrible beers (hi, Rainier) are close to $4, but I'm sympathetic. Their entire block has changed to eateries. The movie theater had to go first-run just to survive. They share a street with Bamboo Sushi, Ken's Artisan and Langbaan. All the funky little antique and record shops have been gone for years now. I don't know how the food cart pod is still there. To preserve the things you love, sometimes you have to help them pay the rent. I look forward to the day when Beulahland can overcharge for brunch and give folks $2 Rainiers again, but today isn't that day. Today they're trying to maintain a large home in a suddenly high-end neighborhood. I'll do what I can to help.
google avatar

Kathryn B.

Yelp
It's okay. Okay drinks, okay food. Not terrible, not great, just what you'd expect by the looks of it. The location is convenient, it's right in between everything. It's a dive bar, so expect the dive bar fixings: odd decor, cheap drinks, good service when the servers are in the mood for it, plenty of soused individuals, grungy interior, and smokey back patio -- very smokey back patio, fyi. If you don't like soccer, basketball, or crowds, I recommend finding another spot on big game days bc this place gets packed like a sardine can for such occasions. Cheers.
google avatar

Allison T.

Yelp
Atmosphere is great for a relaxed evening. We came for happy hour (4-7) and enjoyed the drinks, food, and interesting topics of conversation. I got la revolution - good cocktail, made strong. Husband got the dark and stormy - very dark but well mixed. For food - good mac and cheese, average burger (better than average bacon), definitely decent wings and great pie (the 3 of us had marionberry, pecan, and Carmel apple - marrionberry was the best, but all were good). Definitely bring some cash for their crazy vending machine. I got my spirit animal and my husband got his mini tarot reading.
google avatar

Howard L.

Yelp
I have been coming here since it opened. Even played a few shows there when it was just coffee and beer in the smaller room. That said, I am not a regular in any way at all and don't intend to be. The misses and I have moved back in the Kerns neighborhood and have been frequenting spots as much as we can. Most have been welcoming and friendly, but not here. Why? The culture here is the standard "hip kids" vs the "other guys" shtick. The bartenders play favorites and I have witnessed them berating and belittling other customers. The guy that seems like the manager/bartender is obviously drinking on the job (I have seen it with my own eyes). I gave an extra star for pretty good food and great location.
google avatar

Tom A.

Yelp
A great neighborhood bar and a fun place to watch World Cup soccer. Even though the place was packed, the service flowed well and cheerily. I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich and a few beers while watching England struggle against Panama. A relaxed and friendly crowd topped off a great experience. Thanks, Beulah!
google avatar

Josie C.

Yelp
I miss Beulahland. And the possums. Pointy little noses. Was my neighborhood haunt for years. I first ordered cereal there way back in '98 when the only other thing they served was toast... and only took cash. They had only that center space at the time. Integral to my drunken voting, messy socializing and slacktavism, it's quintessential pdx, best of. Long may she reign. [Hi Jimmy! Yep--I always visit Beulahland when I'm in PDX. You've made it into an institution of the Portland I know and love, that plops you on a bike, slaps a beer in your hand, and says welcome to Portland.
google avatar

Mozey S.

Yelp
It's got a nice nouveau-dive feel to it, with vinyl seating, a Porky Pig mural. The bartenders are cute and take good care of you. The drinks are respectable, the food works...it's a bit expensive for portions and quality. It's worth taking advantage of happy hour, as I got a burger and a Manhattan for $9. Not a sports fan, not a fan of the sports memorabilia. But the pie keeps me coming back. Good pie, good drunk-scarfing-down pie. Get some pie.
google avatar

Kristian J.

Yelp
Equally as great for breakfast as it is for late night nachos and drinks! Fun place for a date or hangs with a group, nice staff, decent bathrooms, solid taplist, and pretty nommy bar food. Definitely a neighborhood favorite.
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
This place used to be good, but our last visit was really disappointing. We went on a Saturday morning to watch an Arsenal game, and while the watching was good, the food and service was poor. We were the third party to arrive, and what seemed like the tenth party to put in an order. It was about an hour from the time we arrived to when the food was served. My "vegan hash" was served with a wrapped butter patty that had melted on the toast, and the hash itself was greasy and smelled and tasted of bacon. The menu is not as vegan friendly as it used to be, which was also disappointing. Our server was pretty much absent after the food came out, so we wound up walking to the bar for service. All in all, a pretty crappy experience. I'm hoping that our experience was a one off, but I have no desire to return for food and a game. I'd say, go to watch the game and drink beer, but sit at the bar.
google avatar

Tom J.

Yelp
It's wayyy time for an update! We had some friends in town visiting and decided to come here for breakfast as City State was way too crowded. Excellent decision on our part! We immediately were able to sit at a front booth that was very private. Our server was super cool and super nice, we just loved her! I decided on the breakfast sandwich, which had english muffins, cheese, eggs and bacon. It may not sound exciting, but it was super sensational, probably the best breakfast sammie I've ever had! One of my friends had a breakfast platter that came with seasonal veggies. He said it was so good that Beulahland is now his favorite breakfast place in Portland. My other friend said her breakfast plate was really good too. The one down note is that they had cherry pie and we all love cherry pie, so yes, we got breakfast dessert! Sadly, this was not good cherry pie. It was sort of gelatinous and served cold with vanilla gelato. Not at all like mom's and not at all good. But the rest was terrific, we will be back!

Yelp
I prefer not to leave bad reviews for places that are mostly inoffensive, but I'm tired of friends insisting we go here when every time I have has been something along the lines of the following: Paid 8 bucks for what was presumably intended to be papas bravas and another 3.50 for a Rainier (seriously?). Received approximately 2 red potatoes worth of mediocre homefries in what was essentially a poorly made pasta sauce that had some paprika dumped in it. Left hungry and annoyed, also with far less money than a small order of potatoes and the worst beer available should cost. The bartenders are nice and a lot of the customers are decent conversation, but it's definitely not worth going out of your way for and I'll never understand why so many people come here. The space is laid out horribly, the food mostly sucks, and everything is about a dollar more than it should be for the quality/location/service, even accounting for nu-portland market pricing. I imagine most of the customers think of this place as a "punk bar" or a "dive" or a "portland style pub" or something but really its just a shabby chic place for yuppies to feel down to earth in.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
I love this bar, great staff, fun nights! Rio is the best, she is so sweet :) I love their Ru-Paul viewing nights & the DJ nights also! Always a good time
google avatar

Mikhail H.

Yelp
Well how fun are you Beulahland. First you have a wicked cute video request night Sundays and introduced me to some pretty sweet old school and newer videos that are just as diverse as the people making the requests, including me. Then you give me an amazing mushroom swiss burger, cater to me demanding you put bacon on it and I even got a side salad with chickpeas and ranch....thanks guys. Cheap food and drinks that are tasty in a great location with a kickass crowd? Yes please! I hear tale that the photobooth is great as well.

Yelp
The BF and I were STARVING on a recent trip to Portland and quickly did a U-turn when we saw the 30+ people in line at Screen Door. Nope nope nope. After some meandering and yelping, we ended up at Beulahland around late brunch time. Unbeknownst to us, we had apparently just caught the mass exodus of some soccer viewers--we were quite confused when we saw a huge line at the bar and didn't know whether we were supposed to order food there or be served. Luckily, I located a sign that indicated we would receive waiter service in the right side, so sat ourselves amongst the chaos. I have to say my expectations were not very high since this place was pretty divey and very much a bar vs. a restaurant ambiance, but ended up being fairly impressed. I ordered the pork sausage and chevre (apparently this is a goat cheese) scramble, which was delicious and definitely hit the spot. The BF had sausage and gravy which was also very good, and came in a generous portion. Despite my assumptions, the food itself wasn't divey or diner-esque--it was a few notches up and we both enjoyed our meals very much!

Yelp
Absolutely love the fact that these guys will open at 5am on a Sunday to provide a venue for Arsenal fans to watch a game. Food is good, prices are fair and the dedication to supporting Arsenal fans is exceptional. Time for the Gunners to reciprocate and step up their game to match!

Jasmine S.

Yelp
I'm only giving this one star because Yelp hasn't given us the platform for negative stars yet. We go into this bar with a friend who has his dog and begin to order a drink. Mind you this is his neighborhood bar that he's been at numerous times with his dog. Before we know it, we hear incoherent screaming coming from the back of the bar. The apparent owner, regular suit and tie type with a hard on for authority, proceeded to scream to get the dog out of his bar, that he was a mongrel and he would crush his skull. In the middle of a full bar on a Saturday night. Not even joking. We leave immediately after processing our bewilderment and being told that we weren't "punk enough" anyways. Says the guy in a three piece suit. He followed us outside and continued to scream when we told him to stay away from us. Apparently this douche lord forgot it was the 21st century, so I have a really charming video of the whole interaction. This was hands down the most insane response from an "owner" I've ever seen and I hope to god one day this bar has a change of management. Absolutely despicable and disgusting behavior and this bar should be embarrassed. His name is Jimmi by the way.

Yelp
Get there for lunch, there's no longer wings on the dinner menu... grab the scrabble board, a smoked chicken banh mi... drink of choice and start living the good life. Check out the photo booth too!

Yelp
I got the egg and bacon scramble with roasted potatoes on the side. COOKED and seasoned perfectly! There was no wait.. and legit every other place had a huge wait for 20min-1.5 hours. My friends and I were starving and in need of brunch. Highly recommend! PLUS GLUTEN FREE WAFFLES for my celiac friend!

Yelp
I've reviewed this before for nightlife/bar/dive bar - always gets a good rating. THIS review, however, is about breakfast. I've been on a search for good, cheap, close SE places for breakfast - so this was on my list. Honestly, it's just OK. I had chilaquiles, and it's true I should know better than to expect a bar to know how to prepare this, but I was hopeful...and...disappointed. Now, I can't eat runny eggs - grosses me out. BUT, these eggs were so over cooked that they actually separated. Yes, they will do that - get hard and then ooze water - and I know this because when I was all grossed out by uncooked yolks I went a bit overboard and learned this valueable lesson. BTW - it takes awhile to get your eggs from cooked, to overcooked, to having them ooze water. Service was OK, can't complain - it's a bar after all. But the breakfast - I'll go elsewhere...unless there's a soccer game I HAVE to watch.

Yelp
Not sure why this place isn't more busy for breakfast. We stumbled upon this place last week and noticed they had gluten free waffles. Holy smokes!!! Turns out the eggs aren't so bad either and there potatoes are off the chain. A little music would help the ambiance

Yelp
Good food, stiff drinks. I would have given five stars, but the grande quesadilla no longer includes guacamole.

Yelp
Worst service ever! I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it took 50 minutes to get it, only two other tables in the whole place, one waitress who didn't give a shit, and I'm assuming one chef that also didn't give a shit!!! I will NEVER EVER COME BACK TWO THUMBS DOWN, I would of been better off standing in line for 45 minutes at the screen door

Yelp
Just a bar. Nothing to write home about. Had tv's, pinball, booths to eat at. Happy hour is good with $3 wells & $4 pints. Drinks felt generic. I had a greyhound wells and it was aight. The good thing? Happy hour is until 7p here. Didn't try any of their food b/c we were just looking for a quick, cheap happy hour drink. The workers were attentive, nice and pleasant to work with. The decor is all dive bar. Nothing else to say. Would I come here again? During another happy hour with friends, sure. To eat? probably not. To pay full price? don't think so.
