The 10 Best Dog-Friendly Bars in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"In addition to its pro-pup policy, this West Seattle neighborhood favorite has more than 100 different bottled beers, 25 more on tap, a lovely oasis of a patio, pool, shuffleboard and TVs, and a cozy bohemian feel, with homey old tables and couches and a super-cool 1907 Brunswick back bar. There’s no food, so takeout is encouraged. Fair warning: The bar is cool with dogs, but strict about leashes, barking, and jumping, so dog owners are expected to stick to service-animal rules." - Meg van Huygen

Google
One of the most comfortable and “beer pub” styled beer bars in Seattle, and a great anchor for Morgan junction. Excellent local tap list and large interior - comfortable bar and lots of seating. Fun games on the other side and great bartenders.

Don Wooten

Google
Great beers, great indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly and no kids! What more could you ask for?

Derrick

Google
This is a good local pub to hang out and relax. They serve mostly beer, wine and cider. They have couches as well as chairs to relax and socialize. This is a good pub to try out if you’re in the area.

Robyn Wilbar

Google
Came here for the seattle beer week event and had an awesome time. The staff was helpful and kept the line short and sweet, the beer garden is stunning, wild roses everywhere! and inside is cozy with fun games and lots of tvs if that's your thing. truly something for everyone, very cool spot and I will be back!

Bob Davies

Google
What a wonderful brew pub. Old world feel, wonderful atmosphere, comfy chairs, and a great selection of beers. Dog friendly. A tasting flight was 16.00 which might be a little pricey for some.

Montana Smith

Google
Tons of local beers to choose from, they also have cider, cocktails, and wine! Lots of seating and a really cool beer garden outside. I really enjoy this place!

Peter Kafka

Google
Great atmosphere! Great beer selection. No real food service to speak of but they do allow you to bring in outside food.

Adam Farhan

Google
Not only one of the best bars in Seattle, but one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. Huge selection of draft beers and ciders. All of which are craft and very unique. I have not seen a lot of their selections at other bars in the area. If you want to play games, come here. Awesome shuffleboard from the 1950s, foosball, darts, and tons of other games scattered around. Lastly, the bar. Absolutely stunning hand crafted wood arches and pillars behind the bar. Really solid wooden bar. Idk, that kind of old woodwork maintained to the condition it’s in is such a unique feature you don’t see much of anymore. 10/10.

Yelp
We didn't try any food but the service was great! The ambiance was very quiet and calm kind of like a dive bar.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty much the perfect pub! Great decor, ambiance, and seating at this spot. Huge draft selection. I didn't try any food and didn't see if they have a liquor license. I enjoyed my stout and cider thoroughly. Prices are reasonable (could be lower, could be higher) but just not feeling overpriced is awesome for such a nice bar in Seattle. Eclectic crowd is always a plus for me as well. Great place to stop in for a drink if you're in this quaint neighborhood
google avatar

Yelp
I like this place! Not your typical bar. The music is good--I mean 90s good--not too loud, and the crowd is 30-something and up; no rowdy college kids--says the guy who looks like a college kid. Spacious joint for you and the homies to get a drink. And they do allow you to bring your own food in! Ezell's chicken is in walking distance. They have quite the selection of beers; sure , I had to be careful about my gluten intolerance, so I did take a few sips for sampling purposes. There's nothing like posting up, bobbin' ya head to the jams, and washing some good food down with a good ol' fashion beer. I know I live in Oakland, but this Texan has a sweet spot for Seattle because of places like this one!
google avatar

Soo L.

Yelp
Purely based on drinks, as they don't really have food. Just a neighborhood bar with cool ambience and outdoor space. You have to order at the bar. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Yelp
I was just about to head over this evening but then remembered my last experience where I brought my friendly dog and the shaved head bartender guy (Daniel?) was such a dick. Hey Beveridge Place Pub: FYI There are very few dogs who are ALWAYS completely silent.. who don't let out a little bark of excitement once in a while when another dog comes in... I also couldn't believe that after tying up my dog to the table and she was laying down under it, the guy comes over to demand that I untie it and hold the leash in my hand instead...?! Why?! Going to echo what many others have said about this particular bartender: Don't claim to be dog-friendly if you're actually dog-hostile. And that bartender could use an attitude check.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
Great place to grab a beer or glass of wine, dog friendly bar , you can bring in your own food they only serve warm nuts. Lots of games to play like darts, shuffle board and board games.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for a brewski with my daughter on Father's Day... excellent beer selection, friendly staff, many places to sit inside and outside; various games to play, interesting (as I learned) faux decor, made to look like an old hotel bar with early century woodwork and other stylish additions. Strange but nice. Overall a great place to enjoy friends and craft beers.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Stopped in for a casual hangout with a friend and a few games of darts on an Thursday evening. Really enjoyed a few of the meads, the quiet ambiance, and no competition for tables or the darts. Bar staff was friendly and attentive. Would recommend for a chill, low, maintenance drink with friends.

Pamela H.

Yelp
My favorite place to go for West Seattle fun, wine (brews for my friends). It's a must for my Seattle visits. Great space, fun games, staff is warm and fun. I will be back around New Years. Thank you!, from the old ugly broad.

Yelp
This is one of the top 3 spots for drinking beer and hanging out when in West Seattle. There's a lot of tap take overs and you can find a large mix beers in one place to try PNW beer. The beer is a plenty, but I've found that not always the coldest beer I've ever drank; but maybe this is the temperature beer is supposed to be serviced. The décor has large high ceilings, plenty of tables and couches that are spread out from 4 tops to large tables that can take a dozen or more. I like the hard woods and the vintage furniture that is made for comfort and gives you a hanging out at someone's house feel. It's easy to get a flight of beers and then just sit and chat and let time go by. There's a second room that's doubles the floor space; I can see where this is a great place to meet up with a large group of friends or have a birthday party where you can do some serious beer drinking as the place is huge that can easily accommodate large groups comfortably. Don't expect to be find a meal here even though it's called a "pub" as the only food seems to be popcorn and maybe some other snack foods. That said, there's other places to carry in a meal that are just next door our you can drink and then walk to a restaurant and eat before or after frequenting Beveridge Place Pub. As to service, I've come back a few times and realized this really is a locals pub that is tailored to repeat customers that come in day in and day out. I have found in my experiences that being a repeat customer seems to have dividends related to bar service. As an example, I was sitting at the bar with my wife and she was told to get into a long line queued half way to the front door for a beer where the couple of guys next to us were served refills were they sat at the bar. So, I can see where some patrons coming to Beveridge Pub can feel the service is spotty as it seems service depends on who you are and how the staff is feeling at the moment.

Yelp
Cannot go wrong here. Great selection and atmosphere! Can have food delivered. Awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
Bartender yells every time a dog barks even slightly. I didn't bring a dog, but him shouting "NO BARKING" every 10 to 15 minutes was way more obnoxious than the actual dog barking. Used to consistently have high quality German imports on tap. Staff claimed they couldn't get kegs of Ayinger or Paulaner anymore "due to covid" in Seattle, an international port city. Pubs in Indiana that I recently visited somehow got their hands on it though. They are obviously just cutting costs. Prices have increased to the point that it isn't worth going there anymore. Condescending staff ruined the ambience.

Yelp
My first time here. The outside space is exceptional. Staff are friendly and incredibly helpful to select the right beer. Selection is outstanding. This will be my new go to place!!
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
This place is very cool and it has an outdoor patio in the back. There are many boardgames to choose from and they also have shuffle board and foosball. We liked this place a lot because it has great beer selections including some on cask. They are also very dog-friendly. I probably saw at least 10 dogs within 1 hour of being here, all super friendly. I'm sure I'll be back here when I'm in the West Seattle area.

Yelp
Been coming here for a while but this past week was my last!.. I came to celebrate my graduation and new job only to be screamed at by a short guy behind the bar about my mask.. He was also screaming at a dog for barking ?!? I mean ..geez! Welp.. thanks short guy behind the bar .. my wife and I will never be back and we intend to spread the word!.. cheers!

Yelp
Great place to hang out, play games, or just kick back and chill. Has fuzz ball table, shuffle board and many board games to choose from also has a large outdoor space. Only problem, they do not have a kitchen or much to chose from to eat. You have to bring your own. Just plan ahead and go in to have a beer or wine.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Great place to chill, bring your dog, work, and play games with friends. With an excellent unique beer selection on tap, a few wines and a great mead selection. They even have party mixes to snack on or you can bring food in of your own choosing. Plus: during the summer months there is a great outdoor area that has WiFi coverage and is a comfortable and a relaxing atmosphere Update: have spent many nights here, my only comment or warning is they are rude if your dog is sitting on your lap on their furniture
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood spot. Warm and friendly atmosphere, lots of TVs for games. They have TONS of beer on tap, wine and also a selection of MEAD, which I haven't seen anyplace else. It's like walking into a 70s hotel lobby with the decor, but it's inviting. There's board games, shuffleboard, darts. The only reason this place isn't getting five stars is they don't serve food. That said, you can bring food in from all sorts of local places in the neighborhood...so it won't put too much of a damper on plans if you're hungry.

Yelp
I used to bring my dog here every few weeks over the summer after giving her a bath at the Wash Dog across the street, but after my last two experiences I can happily say I will never be back. This past weekend I was at Beveridge with a group for a Halloween get together. Everyone had a beer and was getting ready to order a second, (I myself had had one), and someone had ordered a bottle, which is an option they offer. She was told that she was not allowed to order anything else after that bottle. Our group was then asked to leave as we started ordering a second round of drinks. This was at about 9PM mind you. We closed out and walked up to the Bridge, who received a phone call from them that a group was on the way and that we were not to be served. A woman in my group said that she had a similar experience at Beveridge a few weeks prior at the beginning of the Seahawks game, and her group of 3 was asked to leave after they purchased two beers. The first negative experience I had was when I was continually told to hold my dog's leash in my hand, even though she was sleeping and tied up in a corner far away from all patrons. Another couple, whose dog was laying under their chairs, asleep, and tied to their chair, left because the harassment got to be overbearing. Since I would not comply and didn't want my dog standing in the way of our shuffleboard game, my group and I were asked to leave. Unfortunately they must have had a bad run in with the Liquor Control Board because I don't know of any other beer locations who cut people off after one beer. Let alone are petty enough to take business away from a neighboring location. Very petty and not worth anyone's time with so many better options just down the street.

Yelp
Dog Friendly Tap Room! What else could you want. You might say they should have their own kitchen - but then they could not allow the dogs! They are great about allowing outside food and often have a food truck on th weekend. If you can't find a beer/ale/mead/wine you like here - you are not trying hard enough! Their expanded beer garden is fantastic - so much better than the couple of parking spaces it now occupies! For me the best part is I can walk home!
google avatar

Drew Y.

Yelp
Dog friendly tap room with great beer and wine by the glass. They have a great outdoor area as well. This is a gem and legend in Seattle and I hope it stays open forever. Love to come here with my wife and dog and watch sports, unwind and try new brews, mead, and their wine by the glass is fantastic, it may not be as long as their beer list but they know how to pick 'EM. Bravo BPP!

Yelp
Seattle is a beer Mecca, with perhaps more micro start-ups than any city in America. That said, we are also blessed with unbelievable places to drink beer, talk beer, discover beer, learn about beer, celebrate beer, and generally geek out about this ancient, essential food. Beveridge Place is one of those unique environments. They have hundreds of brews to choose from in draught, bottle and can; ciders, wine and even mead (a fermented honey brew) as well. One of the ways to tell you're in a serious beer-lovers' paradise: each type of beer is served in its proper glass. No generic pounders here. Special events focusing on various genres of beer, specific breweries, beer-centric holidays (Oktoberfest et al) fundraising events and other themes are perpetually in the offing here- check the table at the entrance or ask your barkeep (if they're not too slammed) about ones you might be interested in. Note: there is no food served, but they do invite food trucks occasionally, and takeout is welcome if you clean up after yourself. Some games (darts, pool, shuffleboard etc.) are available in the north room, when it's open. Warning: Their extensive menu is mesmerizing! Indeed, when it's busy you will likely see a number of "brew zombies" staring bleary-eyed at the chalkboard list of offerings, mouths agape or muttering as they read through it. Some merely in awe, some totally confused, some looking in vain for that PBR or Coors tap, so they can turn their baseball caps backwards, use the term "bro" in context, high-five someone and preferably avoid anything or anyone that might cause them to step out of their frat boy safe zone. Needless to say, they've come to the wrong place. My advice: ask for advice. The bartenders here know their stuff, and are expert at steering you at things you'll find interesting. They will let you taste before you buy, but if there's a line, please be respectful. Trusting your barkeep often results in a little flavorful adventure, so I recommend going with their suggestions when you're in uncharted territory. There is no better place to get your brew on in West Seattle! Highly recommended.

Yelp
I love that I can bring my dog here. Well behaved dogs only and no parking are the rules. Our dog falls into that category. The beer options are fantastic and the staff remember you. Has a British pub feel with shuffleboard, darts, board games and TVs for sports. A large inside space with a variety of furniture and even a hidden sewing machine. They have a covered patio for those who want to be outside. Visit when you get a chance.

Lisa J.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Vey well maintained welcoming environment. Glad to find this spot in West Seattle. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Jesse G.

Yelp
Long overdue update to five stars. During COVID-19 especially these folks have it down. Assigned seating, order over an app, and masks and walking around rules are politely enforced. And still a creative and delicious selection of beverages. Great job!
google avatar

Bradley C.

Yelp
Great local pub for hanging out. No real food options but great place to start your night.
google avatar

Matt T.

Yelp
This is one of my spots in West Seattle. They have GREAT beer, killer bar staff, drinkable wine, boardgames, very cool decor/back bar, and they let you bring you dog in. Perfect place for an after date/after dinner drink. If you need to stay and eat with your dunklewiess, then order pizza from zeek's and they will deliver it to the bar. Can get crowded on weekends, but never oppressive. The other side of the bar I a little louder and has games if that is your thing. Whish they had Franziskaner on tap, but I wish I was skinny and rich too... love this place.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Aggressive Toward Patrons I've always loved this place for its laid back atmosphere and friendly vibe for playing games and well behaved dogs. I invited my friends to this place for this very reason. I arrived to meet them to find one of the staff leaning over and yelling at my friend. Not ideal. Tonight one of the staff members kicked my friend out for having a (well behaved) dog without a leash- they've got rules, and that's ok. When she returned with a leash, she misunderstood his directions about keeping the leash in hand and he stood over this tiny woman, raised his voice, and yelled "I already told you 3 times" while she frantically attempted to unclasp the leash to hold it. Again, I get it, rules are rules and it's ok to set expectations for patrons. It is NOT ok to raise your voice, verbally deride, embarrass, or intimidate patrons who are trying to follow your rules. Thanks for the memories, Beveridge Place, it's not me, it's you, and it's over. I'm reading recent reviews and being yelled at by the shaved-headed bartender for having a dog is a very common complaint. If you don't want to allow dogs, that's cool. If you don't want to work someplace that allows dogs, also great. But don't yell at people who bring dogs to a dog-friendly establishment. And never use your size and volume to intimidate others, it's not good for your karma.

Garett B.

Yelp
Friendly staff and a warm, inviting environment. Plenty of beers on tap, and you can bring in food if you want a meal.
google avatar

W D.

Yelp
I revisited after 5 years. Nice ambience but their best beers are watery, not complex and distasteful. They charged an automatic 20% tip. The place was empty.
google avatar

Ajay M.

Yelp
What a great neighborhood spot to come and enjoy a cold drink. Great space, great service, and amazing beer selection. They also keep ciders on tap which is great if you prefer the apples to the brewskis!
google avatar

Chris V.

Yelp
Me and my little angel Abby, the dog, stopped by here over the weekend to check it out. She was comfortable hanging out and I enjoyed the whole laid back vibe of the place, the overall decor and the nice seating area outside. It was the perfect day to check it out and enjoy a beverage at Beveridge. The wait staff wasn't very attentive but that's my only suggestion for improvement if they read this review. I'll go back again but the next time I'll go hungry. I'll try ordering outside food and have it delivered so I can enjoy it with my beverage. That will be an interesting experience since I've never been to a restaurant/bar where that was an option and I actually tried it. I'm sure Abby will be happy to go back for another visit since she had such a good time during her initial visit.

Yelp
Bring your own food, bring your friends, bring your dog...it's the place to be. We frequent here often for any occasion; a quick libation, a football or baseball game, a round of shuffle board or pool and today for the super bowl! Super friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. A great beer and wine list that rotates regularly. Fun events. Simple snacks sold here and menus available for the nearby restaurants to order take out or delivery. This truly is like sitting in your own living room, but with new friends and a great beverage selection.

Samantha W.

Yelp
Good spot with a solid beer, cider, and wine selection. Staff is knowledgeable. I would not say they're super dog friendly (as referenced in other comments). We were outside when our pups got excited after hearing some other dogs. Within minutes a server came out and told us dogs were not allowed to bark. We left because we get it...it's not our favorite when our pups are loud either (but it happens sometimes!) Recommend Ounces for a true dog friendly beer joint! Otherwise, fun for group outings and for grabbing a quick drink.

Yelp
I can't believe I've waited this long to write a review of this fantastic pub. One of the best HH deals on craft beer in the city let alone West Seattle (2pm to 6pm weekdays, 12pm-6pm Sat, Sun), I'm guessing 35+ craft beers. Also a great selection of wine and ciders as well. Micro Monday is also a screaming deal on many of their craft beers @$4. You can order in food from many local restaurants and they also have several great snacks. The owners Gary and Terri pay a lot of attention to detail and hiring a top notched staff. Kudos to the team for opening early from several World Cup Soccer events coming up. Cheers.

Adam J.

Yelp
Owner not following king county rules which allow negative test in place of vaccine. What sense does that make. Negative test means you are safer then vaccinated which could be positive.

Drew C.

Yelp
Chill spot, good beer selection. Tv's with sports. Totally fine with my 6 month old 55 lb puppy who sometimes makes noises. Definitely did not get pretentious or rude vibe at all.

Katie D.

Yelp
This neighborhood bar is simply wonderful. It has a welcoming vibe, nice staff, and some great games and books strewn about. I'm hoping to make it for trivia one day soon.
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
Before COVID hit, this place was a perfect place to hangout and connect with friends at one of their cozy and eclectic table set ups. Great selection of drinks, board games, and bar games like darts and shuffle board. Can't wait for this place to fully open again! We've also been here twice since COVID hit. We've sat outside both times, and brought our own snacks and board games. They have really great outdoor seating set up with tables and chairs that are really far apart, so we felt completely safe. They're also using online ordering that's really easy and intuitive (if it's your first time in post-COVID, they'll explain it to you too). This place is just really great all around - go in and support if you can!
google avatar

Stephen M.

Yelp
Dog-friendly bar? We must be in West Seattle! This is a great place to catch a game on a Sunday. There's no food options in the large, living room-type area, but Zeeks is literally 30 feet away and brings in pizzas to hungry patrons. TV are hung at all angles, so you don't get 50 people all craning their neck to see a single screen...but that does not lend itself to bringing a large group here as they would have to break into small cliques. Beer selection is good, and prices are fair. Most dogs are well-behaved and don't cause too much of a stir. Highly recommend and will def return.

Jarret M.

Yelp
I moved to the neighborhood recently and have been looking for great spot to grab drinks with friends. I've been to Beveridge Place a few times and finally felt compelled to write a review of my experience(s). While the atmosphere seems inviting and cozy, EVERY TIME I have visited I have witnessed a patron being reprimanded or even yelled at about their dogs. This is a dog friendly place, for well-behaved dogs, which is great. I personally have not brought my dog and I NEVER will. I have been witness to patrons - whose dogs have barely barked or only made the slightest excited whimper when being pet by strangers - being literally yelled out because they're dog was "causing too much disturbance." They are dogs. Dogs will be dogs - even the best of them will make a sound every now and then. And watching staff be rude to patrons, who are in fact not bothering anyone with their dogs has really turned me off this pub. If this pub wants to be dog-friendly, they need to train their staff to be more pleasant to patrons who bring their dogs. Every time I have come, I've seen something happen and I just feel bad for the patron who gets scolded and is asked to leave. Even when their dogs weren't that bad. There are plenty of other places in the neighborhood to grab a drink - with or without your dog - that don't make you feel nearly as uncomfortable as this place.

Brenda A.

Yelp
JUST discovered this place! Amazing little spot where you can bring your dog (inside too). They have a huge selection of games to play and beers on tap. Very cool place to have a relaxing and calm night out. We will be coming back again with our two dachshunds.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a neighbourhood fixture and is always where I choose to meet friends and take guests. I miss pre COVID days here but they have done a great job of creating a space outside with rotating food trucks. Fab drinks and great home style vibe.
google avatar

Lori P.

Yelp
Love BP - a neighborhood favorite. Always incredible selection in an excellent setting. The only drawback is the 21+.

Thomas K.

Yelp
Terribly disappointed. The dog friendly pub is not so dog friendly. I was so excited to have a beer pub where I could take my dogs when I moved here a few weeks ago. I was asked to leave tonight because my dog barked a couple times as other dogs entered or exited, and I was further informed that technically only service dogs are allowed. I'm a conscientious pet parent, and my dog was not being a nuisance. A couple barks and then quiet again. I was actually so surprised to be approached about this, I asked another server if my dogs were being a nuisance I was only told "we have a strict no barking policy." I could see if my dogs were being annoying, but a couple barks isn't what I think any reasonable person would consider a nuisance or annoying. Ok. I respect your policy but it was not well played. There is no need to be terse or nasty as the first server was. Sadly, I won't return. I am familiar with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and I'm not trying to pretend my dogs are service dogs. They are otherwise well-behaved pets.

Bailey V.

Yelp
Two issues with the place: 1) Extremely condescending and rude staff. Can't get a beer recommendation without an eye roll. Overall really unfriendly vibe. 2)Take off the dog friendly tag if you're going to ask customers to leave after their dog whines once. And if you DO uphold this rule at least make it consistent. Don't pick and choose who gets kicked out.

Priyesh V.

Yelp
This place is apparently dog-friendly, assuming your dog is a mannequin or doesn't posses the ability to bark or chew. My wife and I brought our puppy to the outdoor patio area to relax and enjoy some drinks. Our dog had been chewing on some leaves and sticks (again, in an outdoor patio area) and the bald headed staff member apparently wasn't too pleased. So much that he decided to yell at our puppy. This is disappointing as I've been here several times in the past and had great experiences, but based on other reviews, it appears we aren't alone. Please work on training your staff to be more customer-oriented and dog-sensitive, otherwise don't claim to be dog-friendly. These are the kinds of places people look forward to going to with their furry companions, but easily get ruined by passive aggressive staff members.

Yelp
I really love this place! As a new West Seattle resident I was on the lookout for a watering hole and I had some high expectations coming from some great dive bars in Northeast Minneapolis. This place has it all and then some! 1) they allow dogs! 2) bring your own food, leftovers or pizza from next door 3) the place had some real charm! 4) they have board games, books and trivia on Wednesdays! 5) they have a killer patio 6) they have a great beer selection

Yelp
Great beer and cider selection (I think they have wine too!) and a great outdoor area to sit in the garden and sip on a drink with friends or family. They welcome dogs. In the winter, I've grabbed a drink while playing trivia or talking in a cozy nook. Not a lot of parking, but there is usually parking on the street. A great West Seattle favorite!

Yelp
Nice atmosphere - the kind of place with a true neighborhood feel. Kinda hated that there was no food, and not really a fan of going up to the counter and waiting in line for a drink - especially on a Friday night. Still, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Would return if invited, but it probably wouldn't be on my suggestion list.
