"Sophisticated seafood restaurant and raw bar Bexley had a quiet opening in Summerville earlier this year. The restaurant from chef Jeremy Holst serves items like blue crab fondue, crudo, charred octopus, and more. Status: Certified open." - Erin Perkins

Google
It's rare for me to give a Perfect 5 Star Review. This place deserves it. From the kind and informative staff to some of the best bites I've had in a long time. Their innovative menu will have me coming back next time I'm in town. Now for us Oyster lovers, I haven't had better since my visit to Galway Ireland. Each one felt like a small trip to where they were grown. Although they provide all the oyster fixing including two home made hotsauces, these did not need a thing. If your in the Summerville SC area you must stop here. Be aware the pricing might be a bit high, it is worth every penny.

It’s hard not to notice that some of the 1 star reviewers seem professionally disappointed. Their review history shows a trail of low ratings across some of the best spots in the Lowcountry. At some point, it’s not the shrimp or the steak, it’s the hanger. Bexley’s has been a reset button for me for years. It’s the only gift I ever ask for because every visit leaves me full, happy, and re-centered. The staff is always warm and attentive, the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and the rotating flavors sneak up on you in the best way cue the happy Pooh Bear dance. Life is too short to nitpick joy. Leave the hanger at home and let Bexley’s do what it does best.

AH-MAZING!!! Wow, insanely creative menu and dishes, super passionate and friendly foodie servers and chefs! Talia was knowledgeable and genuinely pleasant. My dishes were like works of art and tasted equally mind blowing! What a gem to have found at this level of dining in Summerville. Bexley should absolutely be rated and awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand! Keep up the fabulous work Bexley Team and don't ever change, see you again soon!

A friend and I visited Bexley fish &raw bar for the first time. “Faith” our waitress was amazing and very friendly. The service, food , and atmosphere were excellent!. We were able to try a couple of dishes for being “first timers”. Enjoyed the humor of the chef who brought us the “Brussels sprouts” dish. We could not have asked for a better presentation of each entree received. Looking forward to the next time; as well as the new options on the menu

Based on a friend’s recommendation, we decided to venture beyond our usual dinner spots and head to Summerville to try Bexley’s. We arrived right as the restaurant opened, without a reservation, and asked to sit at the bar. We were warmly greeted by our friendly and attentive waitress, Gabbey. Shortly after placing our drink order, Chef Mike stepped out from the open kitchen and struck up a conversation with my husband and me. When he learned that my husband is originally from Italy and also a chef, Chef Mike generously took the time to show us his fresh ingredients, house-made sauces, and local farm finds—and even shared some of his other favorite restaurants. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the surfboard special, poke bowl, and French onion panna cotta. As a special surprise, Chef Mike created a gnocchi dish just for us, using his personal stash of pancetta as a nod to my husband’s Italian roots. It’s incredibly rare to find passionate chefs, welcoming staff, exceptional food, and walk-in seating anywhere in the Charleston area. Bexley’s is truly a gem, and we can’t wait to return and enjoy more of Chef Mike’s heartfelt creations.

Google
Hanger steak for $36 is a joke. Lucky if I got 5oz of meat. Small pototo thing comes with it and some vegetables. Wife thought the shrimp and grits was pretty fishy and was thrown off with it be soupy. Chicken wing special was really good though! Key lime was very refreshing

Had my first ever softie. And my first ever oysters. Wendy was an amazing and friendly server. Helped me figure out what to order and how to eat it when I was feeling adventurous but had no experience. Food presentation was exceptional. It's a nice place but not stuffy and very casual. Wish more fine dining had this kind of atmosphere. Im not a photographer so don't hold the pictures against them. It looked absolutely amazing in person.

If you’re in the area, you MUST try this place. The menu the chef has crafted is pretty special. The Bexley Surfboard of 6 small delights is always a treat…and a surprise since it tends to change daily. Mussels were best I’ve ever had. Go. Enjoy!

Yelp
We went on a double date with some friends that live in Summerville and they had recommended, Bexley's and we are so grateful they did!!! We had such an amazing meal, everything was beyond delicious and we made sure to order various dishes and split everything. It was great to try out a new restaurants in a different area of Charleston. It was easy to find parking, the service was amazing and I'll let the photos speak for the food ‼ If you are ever in the Summerville area, you must eat at Bexley's, they have seating at the bar/counter which looked awesome because you can see the chefs preparing all the food and a covered (heated) outdoor seating. Make sure you don't skip dessert either!

Yelp
Great restaurant with a beautiful ambiance as soon as you walk in. Host was friendly and helpful. Waitress was kind, recommended a dry red wine to get us started, and was attentive. Ordered the bread and the surfboard. The bread was delightful and I could have eaten the entire platter alone. The surfboard was very good, some items were a little out of my comfort zone.

Yelp
Great place tucked away in Summerville. We got there in time to take advantage of 1/2 price Oysters and wine. Sue our waitress was delightful and knew the menu inside and out. She was great with our one person with a nut allergy and another with a shrimp allergy. Making sure nothing was contaminated to hurt them. The oysters were delicious, we had the surf board which had so many things on it I won't remember them all! Cream Corn, Potato tartine, ahi-tuna, shrimp toast, crab, whitefish salad and some other things. Scallops on the half shell, a peach and burrata salad and roasted lamb cheeks. All were delicious!! 4 of us had the fish of the day ~ wreck fish, a fish that tasted like grouper, white with a swordfish type texture. Fried Oyster Roll, Tuna & Shrimp Poke Bowls. Sue's service was excellent. The buser's were on top of things and we all had a great time. Will definitely be back

Yelp
We finally made it to Bexley for they first time after eyeing it for some time. I'm so glad I did ! The service was great and quick. We sat in the screened in patio (a little chilly but not terrible) and we ended up only getting a bottle of wine and appetizer (the surf board) and it was to die for. It was absolutely delicious and I can not wait to come back for more ! Definitely our new spot.

Yelp
Fantastic food and people. We sat at the bar and watch the chefs prepare so much yummy meals. Everything is tasty and beautiful. I felt like I was family there! This is a must try in Summerville!

Pat G.

Yelp
This is our first time eating at Bexley Fish & Raw Bar. Our server, Emily, was fantastic. We started with the House Roasted Oysters and Scallops on a half shell. We devoured them, before taking a picture --- sorry about that; but both were delicious. I think I have room for some dessert. There is a Key Lime Pie Semifreddo made with graham crumble, raspberry and lime curd. This is a totally different twist on traditional key lime pie! The ambiance is nice.

Yelp
A definite 5 out of 5 stars! The service was top notch and the food was absolutely incredible. We made a reservation for six the day before and they were able to accommodate us. They have an outdoor patio that is covered for summer but we chose to sit inside. (Note: you do have to put a card on file to book the reservation, which I totally get). We tried as a group a little of everything and when I tell you everything was delicious, I mean it! Unique dishes that I really haven't found anywhere else in Charleston. The menu rotates often which means that you can go and try new things every time you go. The poke bowl was my favorite but everything was so flavorful and delicious that I would go back asap. Up next I want to try their scallops because another table ordered that and it looked incredible!

Melody J.

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! I was absolutely blown away by everything! Never had so many flavors bursting in my mouth at once! Loved the spin on ceviche! The surfboard was awesome! The sauces they have concocted to complement the oysters, oh man! The service was great! Love love love the intimate setting/vibe! Definitely visit here!!

Danielle K.

Yelp
Great service. Got the surfboard and a few small plates for dinner. Highly recommend

Yelp
This place never and I mean never disappoints. The food is always perfect and the drinks. I love how local their vegetables are. While we were sitting at the bar I saw a person walk in with a bag of eggplants. I can't wait to see what they make with it on their menu. If you haven't tried this place out you need to. You are definitely in for some amazing food.

Yelp
Things I liked about Bexley's : Easy parking . You can park on the street or in the free parking garage that's just a few steps away. It's a nice location that overlooks Hutchison Square. You can easily walk to the wine bar on the square for before dinner cocktails or afterwards for a night cap. Nice, modern ambiance . Here's what I didn't like : We sat at the food bar and observed that none of the cooks or food workers wear gloves or hair nets. We watched these guys touch every piece of food , touch phones and then go back to touching food . I saw one dude lick a spoon and then place it under the counter. One guy had shoulder length hair and was leaning over plates of food . No hair net and hair not pulled back . It was all very unhygienic. Food was just okay. We ordered 6 different dishes and they all tasted like they had the same spices . Also the gnocchi has sugar in it ! It was too sweet . That's blasphemous. Side note : they also don't serve liquor . Wine only . My partner tried to order some liquor to wash his mouth out of some of the food flavors only to learn the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license . We had high hopes for Bexley but hopefully the restaurant can get it together .

Yelp
I can't help but the song the praises of this place once again! Every time I visit here I'm reminded of how magical it was the first time. The servers are always so personable and gracious and the food is an absolute experience! I love how they cater to you here with high quality dishes. The taste is phenomenal, and the plating is 5 star as well. For a small venue they make it feel so intimate and grand. An ideal date night spot where you can have a beautiful glass of wine with an elegant and refined dish.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I had while traveling around the greater Charleston area. Wow, everything was absolutely delicious! You don't need to eat in Downtown Charleston when this gem is here. I was surprised to find a restaurant with such class and culinary skill in downtown Summerville. The ambiance was great and lively even while eating an early dinner- it was clear that it was a place that people are excited to go to. The scallop & pork belly dish was extremely memorable and the kimchi grits were so savory. We sat at the bar and spoke with the chef, he was extremely friendly and personable. I am excited to come back next time I am in town!

Yelp
Went there for my Birthday dinner and even with the Oktoberfest wrapping up we had a great time. The patio was surprisingly quiet considering Oktoberfest was being broke down right next door. The food was very tasty and we had a delightful server. It's a little pricey but a fun place for a tasty birthday dinner

Yelp
Having never visited Summerville, when we rolled into town for an overnight, we checked our trusty Yelp. Alas, there were no spots within walking distance of our hotel so we chose Bexley's. As it turned out, it was a good choice. The restaurant features a small outdoor door seating area, and a cozy, pleasant indoor ambiance. We sat at the raw bar, but past on the bi-valves, heartedly enjoyed by all of our bar neighbors. Instead, we started with some good old, southern deep fried okra. Bexley served up a generous portion of baby okra, nicely prepared and garnished with with some tasty condiments and whipped goat cheese. We ate every last one! For our entrées, my wife had the poke bowl with shrimp. I know she would order this again, even though she is not that fond of shrimp; I had the fish of the day, which happened to be grilled tilefish atop a creamy risotto. I have to admit, I didn't closely study the description so I wasn't sure what was in the sauce. Turns out it may have been pieces of squash and apples. This isn't your typical "Italian" prepared risotto. it's a bit creamier and much richer. I gave my wife a bite and she didn't like it. She tasted something bitter in the sauce. The fish was mild and prepared well. This is a dish I probably wouldn't go back for, but it was well prepared and artfully presented. All in all Bexley's was a good choice. Check out the menu, check out the place. It's a little bit unique; enjoyed by locals and travelers alike!

Yelp
This place has been on our radar for a while, and it should be on yours! Lovely restaurant in the downtown Summerville area with a cozy feel and super fresh seafood. We didn't make a reservation and waited about 20 minutes for a table for 2 on a Friday night. The restaurant is pretty small, so make a reservation if you can! The service was great and our server was knowledgeable about the wine menu and pairings as well. We ordered the scallops on the half shell, yellowfin tuna crudo, Brussels sprouts, and the Fish of the Day, which was triggerfish. I think the scallops were our favorite for the night, they were cooked to perfection and had incredible flavor! The tuna crudo was super fresh and had lots of yummy toppings. The FOD was so good too, and I ended up spooning the sauce straight into my mouth. And don't sleep on the Brussels sprouts either, they were nice and crispy and had a nice crunch paired with all the seafood. We also ordered a bottle of chenin blanc which was served at a great temperature and balanced out with the food amazingly. Our server was attentive and filled our glasses as we were running low. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here and will definitely come back but will make a reservation. Amazing food and great service!

Yelp
FOOD: fantastic dishes offered with daily specials. I had the Bolognese Gnocchi and it was simply delicious. This dish accompanied by a glass of Montepulciano di Abruzzo made an evening meal a culinary experience. SERVICE: superb...our server knew EVERYTHING about the menu and the people behind its creation. I complemented her on knowing the details of her restaurant. AMBIANCE: we chose to dine at the raw bar counter. Beginning with the place mats, the utensils, the glass and dinnerware one could quickly see that this was not an ordinary raw bar. If they had been playing Oscar Petersen in the background, I would have sworn that I was back at the Pump Room. Great place...my congratulations to everyone. You created a real gem in downtown Summerville.

Sherri J.

Yelp
Finally made it here! The restaurant is small and quaint. The service was great! And the food phenomenal! So many great things on the menu to choose from! We decided on the Bexleys bread for starters... so delicious! The sorghum butter topped with sea salt was absolutely delicious. I have been wanting to try the charred octopus and so glad I did. Mine didn't quite look like pictures that others have posted. However, between the tender octopus and the butter beans it was a phenomenal dish. My husband had the shrimp and grits. They were so creamy with a little bit of a smoky flavor so good! We split a side of Brussel sprouts . Oh my!!!! The flavors and crispiness made these one of the best brussels sprout dishes I have ever had. Then we finished off our meal with the chocolate pudding. The Coco nibs, and the toasted marshmallow really completed this dish. Everything was delicious!

David G.

Yelp
This place is the best restaurant I have been to in SC. Oysters with Jalapeño Lime hot sauce are incredibly fresh. Roasted oysters with collard kimchi - packed with flavor and Tilefish with sushi rice risotto, corn, peaches and brown butter . Everything was perfectly prepared! Could not be any better. Fantastic service from Lexie!! Can't wait to visit again. Y'all Rock!

Steve B.

Yelp
We have visited 4 times. We are very pleased with the food, service and ambiance. In all 4 visits we never got past the appetizers and small plates, the selection is soo good.

Becky N.

Yelp
This is a repeat review. We ate at Bexley Summerville again last night and the food was just as good as. We ordered the quail and the tile fist after starting with scallops on the half shell. It was all very good. I love having this restaurant up in our little town of Summerville. if you get a chance, try them out.

Joyce G.

Yelp
I came to this establishment based on a recommendation and they serve oysters! I wanted oysters and some good fish. They have oysters from the east coast and west coast. I like the plumpier oysters, so it didn't matter to me where they came from... I just wanted the nester ones. They gave them to me and it didn't disappoint! I was actually full from eating a dozen. I ordered the ramen special which has seafood and greens. I wasn't really happy with it and the waitress, Chelsea noticed. She insisted on me changing my order and getting something else. I didn't want to seem like a complainer, but after she insisted.... I did. I was so much happier with my second choice. I got the F.O.D. ( fish of the day).... It was the snapper, which was amazing! My hubby got the lamb which was good too!! Everything was very light but tasteful and filling. Chelsea gave impeccable service which made my experience better. The Naan bread my husband had with his lamb was soooooo good too. He enjoyed it! I would definitely come back. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because there was no one inside when we arrived. Instead of us being seated near the door, wines or bar, we were seated in the back by the restroom. It may have been an oversight but there was no one in the restaurant at all when we were seated. Just something I noticed.... But Chelsea's service made it better.

Art H.

Yelp
This place always impresses. Atmosphere, plating, service are always great! The flavors are amazing! Easily my favorite Summerville restaurant!

Erin N.

Yelp
What a great birthday celebration! Bexley holds a special place in our hearts, as it marked the start of our South Carolina journey. With an open kitchen concept, an incredible menu featuring local raw oysters and other lowcountry favorites, this will quickly become our go-to local spot in downtown Summerville. We sat at the raw bar and quickly learned that was the best seat in the house! The service and food are outstanding and the vibe is classy yet comfortable. We can't wait to return! Swipe through to see what else we ordered! What would you go for first? Charred Octopus Warm rice bowl with shrimp Raw Oysters (Birds Isle, SC + Kumamoto, WA) Scallops on the half shell 2022 South Africa-The Royal: Chenin Blanc Sauternes

Kris W.

Yelp
Best food I have had in the Charleston area. Yes I know not Charleston downtown, but I would put them up against any restaurant in downtown or around the area. I go to this place every time I'm in town always leave. Thinking how many times can I get back a few more times before I head home.

Jeff S.

Yelp
The chief is so creative. I had the catch of the day that was accompanied with a rice and pear slices covered with an unbelievably delicious sauce. My wife had a lightly smoked pork dumpling dish that was so good. Great place to enjoy the food, wine and atmosphere.

FoodSamplier B.

Yelp
Children's portions for an adult price. 30 years of going professionally to New York city restaurants; i have eaten at some of the best and often in the kitchen at the chefs table. ( and that goes for the chefs table on the Queen Elizabeth ship ). while this restaurant is trying be known as a high class restaurant it is very OVER PRICED only because of the tiny food portions. In the photo you can see the $28 plate of duck is smaller than my fork and the duck leg even smaller.. I was not full after leaving the place. now in all fairness the silverware and glasses (that i complain about often) were spotless and showed no signs of food soil or water spots. ( heavy silverware absorbs dishwasher heat and dries spot free for the most part) the taste of the duck was excellent , just not enough food for the price in comparison i've spent $150 at Halls and had much larger portions. in fact i don't mind spending $200 if the meal is good. also note the tipping schedule is based on the full amount which includes sales tax....when in reality the percentage should be based on the pre-taxed dollar amount. will i be back....sorry while the food is good... the price per portion is way out of line....i will not be back

Yelp
Was in Town for the annual Sweet Tea Festival. Always eat at local business while on a road trip. Bexley is conveniently located in old Down Town with easy parking. Was greeted and seated immediately. My waitress arrived soon after and took a drink order. She came back and explained some specials of the day and gave me a few minutes to decide on menu. I ordered the lobster roll which came with a small dish of pickled vegetables. The lobster came on a house made thick piece of bread slight down center. All tasted good. So this is a trendy type restaurant, nice decor, attentive staff, food presentation, not large food portions. It's nice to experience this every once in while.

Kelly L.

Yelp
Should you drive to Summerville for an oyster even if you live in Charleston? Turns out the answer is a resounding YES. This restaurant is the perfect little gem in the heart of Summerville. Downtown parking? Yeah we don't know her. Delightful start to finish! Service was excellent and we received our dishes quickly! I can't even explain how we sat in silence after eating our oysters. We should have ordered a double order. Tuna tartare is small so order two if you have a group of four. Okra was a special, and the breading needed a little something more for me. But I still ate it because it was very good. Every plate was great, but the star of the show for me was the scallops and pork belly. Have mercy. Spot is pretty small. So don't take your loud friend if you go or opt for the patio. Also, the waiter will take your group photo and not even seem annoyed.

Matthew S.

Yelp
Great place! We ended up going here after our other dinner plans didn't work out and I'm so happy we did. Best meal we've had in Summerville for sure. We shared a dozen oysters and I had the scallops while my husband had the steak. Both were wonderful! No cocktails but a wide selection of beers and wines, plus a frose which was really good. Portion sizing was great too- not too big but enough to be satisfying. We'll definitely be back!

William H.

Yelp
Love the small plates! Great variety and not overly priced. It a cozy dining experience for the Summerville area.

Ashley L.

Yelp
Bexley is an absolute dream located in downtown Summerville. We ventured to this lovely restaurant to try their sweet tea cocktail and ended up indulging in their menu as well. The sweet tea cocktail was actually a slushie essentially but in a grown and mature way. It gave me Arnold Palmer vibes in the best way! My husband and I then had an appetizer of tuna tartare with crispy fried rice. The seasoning and freshness of the fish was phenomenal and the crispness of the rice was heavenly and provided the perfect texture. Next we ordered the hanger steak with black garlic and fried potatoes. The cook on the steak was a flawless medium-rare eloquently seasoned and provided the perfect bite. Our last dish we tried was the SC fried quail. The crunch on the skin was awesome and the seasoning on it was evident. It was an absolute flavor bomb and paired nicely with the fresh melons. Our server was so welcoming and gave great recommendations for these dishes and we got to enjoy all of this under beautiful lighting and enjoying an evening breeze. We will surely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Charity T.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by a friend. Took my family here for dinner. Food was tasty. Happy with the vegan meal they created for me. My fam also enjoyed their food choices. Best restaurant in Summerville I've tried by far. I usually have to travel down to Charleston for this level of food. My only disappointment is there was no vegan option for dessert but still not worth less than 5 stars.

Nina C.

Yelp
This place is in downtown Summerville and it was on my list of places to try when we moved here. Cute, quaint and clean. The staff are so friendly and I fell in love with the menu immediately. I already love seafood, and then you infuse in Asian influences and you got me sold! I was eager to try literally everything on the menu. I had to talk to the chef right away and ask about his inspirations. Chef Jeremy shared about his journey with surviving cancer and traveling the world, I was humbled and so excited to try his food. Milk bread was addicting, took me back to an Asian bakery back home. Scallops on the half shell we're delicious. The batter on the fried quail was so flavorful on top of the fresh salad, lobster roll with the pickled cucumbers we're also a great combo. My only small tiff would be that we didn't expect the milk bread to be accompanied with almost each meal we had and expected the lobster roll to be in... well a roll or some type of hoagie. I do think they should make a note of that for the dishes served with additional milk bread because although it was tasty it was a lot of the same bread throughout. Overall hubby and I had a great date night in the midst of the crazy storms from Hurricane Idalia but we enjoyed the food and can't wait to come back!

Stefan T.

Yelp
Excellent dishes. Waitress did everything right. Atmosphere was nice as well. Only drawback was the price of their special for the night. $92 for a steak might be worth it, but not when the other menu items don't even come close to that price.

Lee K.

Yelp
Hands down the best meal we've had since moving back to South Carolina several years ago. Everything was perfectly executed from our interaction with the hostess throughout the dinner with our awesome waiter. We started our meal wit the milk bread and butter which was fresh, light, and a great opener to the meal. The wife opted for the scallops and I chose the FOD that was a trigger fish on a bed of sushi rice and sweet corn risotto. Absolutely perfect, both dishes were perfectly cooked (and had a similar base) and we cleaned every morsel on the plate!! We did not choose the desert as we were full but hopefully will be able to give the key lime a try.

Teresa M.

Yelp
Bexleys is a smallish, bustling seafood restaurant with excellent service and good food. They're serious about reservations (required a credit card to book) and when we arrived 15 minutes early, asked us to come back at the schedule time. No problem! We started with the surfboard appetizer and cleaned it up! The smoked trout spread and savory cheesecake were delicious. Other meals included shrimp and grits and fish of the day - tilefish with bok choy. No "to go" boxes for us, we ate it all!

Rainer B.

Yelp
Great food. Everything was excellent. Tried all of the 6 oysters they had on the menu and loved every singe one. Highly suggest the tuna crudo and mussels. Inside can get loud but we had a nice quiet Thursday. Arguably better than some of the down town restaurants. Michaela was a great server as well.

Ga P.

Yelp
I do not recommend if you are sensitive to gluten or allergic to gluten. I have gotten sick both times I eaten there. Their kitchen protocols for gluten allergies are not up to standards. Service is great though and the dishes look well presented on the plate.

Ashley G.

Yelp
We don't venture to Summerville for dinner very often, but we happen to be in the area and stopped in here on a Saturday night. It was pretty busy but we were still able to walk in and get a table fairly easily. We ordered items from several of the menu sections including the raw bar, small plates, large plates, and dessert. Each dish was wonderfully delicious and beautifully presented. Capped the night with their key lime pie and an adorable personal french press. If you're looking for a new date night spot in the Summerville area or just a delicious meal, I highly recommend Bexley.

Kim T.

Yelp
Made reservations for 2 to check out the restaurant before some seafood lover friends came for a visit. I personally do not eat seafood or red meat. I checked the menu online before making reservations. The menu offered a chicken selection and a pork selection. Either would work for me. We were seated at a table immediately inside the door next to the drink's cooler. We asked if we could be moved, but the hostess said it was the only 2 top. Every time the front door opened, we were hit with a blast of cold air (it was 45* outside). Two staff members proceeded to have a conversation in the open door. Every time a server opened the cooler, the door would clip our table. There were no chicken or pork selections on the menu. There was a duck selection. I mentioned to the server that the website menu was different than the actual. She said she would check, but normally I should call before I come to see what's available on the menu. She checked with the kitchen and they said to order the duck. I did not. I ordered the apple and pear salad and a side of milk bread. My friend ordered the beet salad and a poor boy sandwich. We shared a bottle of wine. My salad was swimming in buttermilk dressing but was otherwise good. The milk toast was good, and my friend liked her choices, as well. I'd send larger parties that like seafood back but cannot recommend for 2 - unless the weather is good.

Yelp
The food is so unique. I absolutely loved it. My husband is a great cook and often dislikes restaurants because he can make something equally delicious at home. But he is obsessed with this restaurant, and I am absolutely with him. Everyone is so kind and service is excellent.

Yelp
Anyone who knows me I stay in my 5 mile radius so to venture to Summerville was huge for me. Ok that's a bit high maintenance but that's how I roll and my husband still loves me after 30yrs. The the moment we walked in Bexley we all felt so welcomed!! The Service was over the top, and everyone's food was amazing. My food was so good that I didn't eat it all so that I could have the rest the next day !! I had the mussels that were cooked to perfection after taking them all out of the shell I was amazed with the quantity and I added rice!!!! The kimchi grits were over top delicious. The desserts were just as amazing. So yes I will put on my big girl panties and will return to Bexley Fish & Raw Bar again and again. #Complimentstothechef

Yelp
We have visited Bexley twice now, and each experience was outstanding! We ordered oysters on the half shell (chef's choice) and they were amazing! Each a little different but all so fresh, briny, and tasty! They come with cocktail sauce, mignonette, and a selection of house-made hot sauces. We particularly enjoyed the poke bowls (added tuna). They are the best I've had anywhere, with variations based on what was available and fresh- so creative! The shrimp and grits was perfect! Not too heavy and perfectly spiced. We ordered a soft-shell crab special on our first visit. It was served over house-made kimchi grits- loved it! We splurged with two desserts on our last visit- the key lime pie and chocolate pudding with a homemade toasted marshmallow. Both were delicious! The chef definitely incorporates his creativity into every dish and takes pride in his restaurant. Our servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, yet also laid back. The restaurant is small so make a reservation. You'll be glad you did!

Yelp
So good! We got the oysters, grilled octopus, tuna poke, and soft shell crab with kimchi and grits. Everything was amazing except for the tuna poke which barely had any tuna. The octopus was grilled to perfection and it was my friend's and my first time trying soft shell crab, which was completely worth it. The restaurant is pretty inside but we decided to sit outside and enjoy the downtown Summerville vibes!
