Bey Bey - Review - Miami Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"Usually, reservations guarantee a warm welcome and a seat at a table. Not at Bey Bey, a vaguely Lebanese (and sometimes Spanish) restaurant and lounge in Sunset Harbour. They host private events more often than school children host lice colonies on their heads. On both our visits to this restaurant (which we made reservations for) we arrived only to find out that the space was booked for a private party. On one such occasion, we were left eating outside under the pouring rain like a heartbroken woman in a Nicholas Sparks novel. Our experience feels symbolic of a larger issue at Bey Bey: it values exclusivity over hospitality. Like a buff man who wears stringer tank tops, Bey Bey’s single redeeming quality is its looks. The restaurant could be the set for an ‘80s disco movie involving crime, lust, and a protagonist with a passion for the color purple. If only Bey Bey tasted as good as it looks. The menu—which changes like the Miami weather on a single August day—might have things like spinach gyozas, hamachi crudo, or lamb flatbread. The dishes on the menu are accompanied by incoherent poems with phrases like “vibrant mirth,” which is the exact opposite of how this bland food makes us feel. The concise menu leaves no room for error (something they make a lot of). We’d say stick to the drinks, but those can sometimes taste like they were made by someone who doesn’t believe in expiration dates. The people behind this restaurant say they decided to call it Bey Bey as an homage to an Arabic phrase that sounds similar and loosely translates to, “Mi casa es tu casa.” But Bey Bey couldn't be less welcoming. And this becomes even more apparent by 10pm, when the periwinkle bunker transitions into a disco lounge only a select few are allowed into. We have heard firsthand accounts from friends of being rudely turned away by an infamous doorman, who you can also read about in countless unintentionally hilarious online reviews. Bey Bey needs to add an addendum to their mission statement: mi casa es tu casa—if we think you’re cool enough. Food Rundown Hamachi Aguachile If it’s on the menu, order it. It’s one of the few dishes we like. The aguachile is more mild than most, but it has a strong citrusy flavor that works great with the thin slices of hamachi. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino Lamb Flat The lamb flat lands flat. It’s essentially a man’oushe that comes with mint salsa verde and goat cheese, but none of those flavors come through. At least the goat is tender. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino Grilled Cheese Your server might tell you to prioritize this dish over others. We’re not sure why. It’s a very ordinary grilled cheese that you have to eat with a knife and fork because they plop fig jam on top rather than inside the sandwich. Skip this, and from now on only accept grilled cheese you can pick up with your hands. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino Cheesecake There’s usually a cheesecake on the menu and it’s either basque or a labneh cheesecake. We’re partial to the labneh because it’s sweet, tangy, and if you’re craving a good slice of basque cheesecake, you should go to Edan Bistro instead. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino" - Mariana Trabanino

Cafe Du Bey - Review - Miami Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"Café Du Bey is a Sunset Harbor ventanita that wears many masks. Our favorite version of this place occurs from 9am to 4pm, when it’s an outdoor periwinkle cafe that makes delicious sandwiches with pan de cristal shipped from Barcelona. It’s a great place to have a solo sandwich and a refreshing iced ube latte. The space also hosts sporadic weekend pop-ups and has a separate wine and tapas menu on evenings from Thursday through Saturday. And if it’s open, you can hop over next door to check out their counterpart, Bey Bey, a wine bar with a Lebanese-ish menu. They’re technically related, but have nothing in common besides a shared bathroom and confusingly trendy auras." - Mariana Trabanino

Beybey is a rare gem hidden in Miami Beach. The entrance gives you a tiny taste of the magic that can be found inside. The staff is very polite, cheerful and well trained. The fusion of Mexican with Lebanese cuisine is seamless. The food was great actually, and the bar did a good job, and seemed passionate about their cocktails creations. The location just transformed from an art gallery into a restaurant recently, but you can still admire the beautiful decorated rooms. And they have multiple rooms, indoor, outdoor, private room, and my favorite the lounge, which gives a Dante's Hi5 kind of vibe, but cooler, and it has a view of the courtyard, which is dreamy. Great spot for dates and friends outings, and late nights.

As a Miami local, this is truly the only place to go out and not feel surrounded by tourists. The newly reopened patio is an absolute vibe — perfect for any occasion, from laid-back dinners to lively nights out. The new menu is to die for. Every dish is inventive, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The lamb? Hands down the best I’ve had in Miami — so good I’ve already come back just to try everything again. When dinner wraps up, head inside to the lounge for eclectic fun, great music, and perfectly crafted drinks. Tiger, Artur, and the entire team have mastered the art of hospitality — warm, attentive, and effortlessly cool. Bey Bey has reclaimed its spot as the go-to destination in Miami.

I went here for a group dinner this week and was blown away by their new menu and the renovated open kitchen and outdoor garden area. The entire experience felt fresh and clearly crafted with a lot of care. The sweet potato, the salmon, and the white fish options are all incredible - I will be back to try the rest soon!

From the moment you walk into Bey Bey in Miami, you know you’re in for something special. The décor is eclectic and beautifully curated, with rich colors and artistic details that create an atmosphere both stylish and inviting. It manages to feel elevated without ever sacrificing comfort—a rare and perfect balance. What truly sets Bey Bey apart is the exceptional service. Our experience with Christopher was outstanding—attentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. The hostess, Chez Monique, greeted us with genuine warmth and made us feel like valued guests from the very first moment. And Red, the restaurant manager, was just as impressive. Welcoming, gracious, and deeply informed about both the venue and its culinary offerings, he added a level of hospitality that made the evening feel seamless and special. And then… the food. Absolutely phenomenal. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, rich, and full of depth. The croquetas were perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy inside, with bold, memorable flavor. The steak tartare was impeccably seasoned, fresh, and beautifully balanced—an instant favorite. Every dish delivered a perfect combination of flavors, showcasing the kitchen’s talent and attention to detail. Bey Bey is the ideal blend of bold décor, heartfelt hospitality, and unforgettable cuisine. If you're in Miami and want a standout dining experience where every part of the evening feels thoughtfully crafted, this is the place. Highly, highly recommended.

If I could rate this place 10 stars I would. Having lived in major foodie cities around the country, this one is on my top 3 for service and atmosphere. The food is fantastic as well, but the attention to detail and level of service made our experience memorable. We are lucky to live nearby and will be visiting often. This is a must visit spot in Miami Beach. Congrats to the management and the team.

You won’t regret choosing Bey Bey for any occasion. The atmosphere is beautiful. The cocktails were delicious and packed a punch. Christopher our waiter led us through our dining experience, his knowledge of the menu was impressive. Top notch service from Chez the hostess, Christopher our waiter and Mr.Red the manager all made our experience flawless. Despite being packed we never had to wait or wonder where our orders were. The owner Tiger even took the time to visit our table to make sure all was well and good. Can’t wait to go again to experience more dishes and check out the beautiful lounge they have as well.

On Thursday, December 4, I mistakenly booked an 8:00 p.m. reservation for the wrong night through Resy. I realized the error within the hour, canceled it immediately, and rebooked for the correct night, Friday, December 5. I also prepaid the dinner at 150 dollars per person. I arrived on time for Friday’s reservation, checked in, and confirmed this situation with your host team. They assured me it was not a problem since I canceled and rebooked almost immediately and that it was clearly a date mistake. My guests and I dined as planned and spent well above the prepaid amount, including a nice bottle of wine. As Miami Beach locals who dine out frequently, we were excited to return to Bey Bey. I visited several times last year and was thrilled to see the reopening. However, I was very disappointed with how this situation was handled by your reservation manager, Tanty. She informed me that the 100 dollar cancellation fee for the Thursday booking (that was rescheduled to Friday and not cancelled) would not be refunded, despite the fact that: 1 The cancellation was an obvious same-hour mistake. 2 We did dine on Friday and fulfilled the full prepaid reservation. Spent well over $150 per person. 3 We are local, repeat customers who bring ongoing business and referrals. 4 We work in the hospitality industry and understand standard guest recovery practices. Given the facts, keeping this fee does not align with good hospitality or the value of long-term local clientele. I requested that the 100 dollar cancellation fee be refunded, since we honored the reservation on the correct date and spent significantly more during our visit. I was told no. I guess they need the cancellation fees more than my repeat business..
