First time in Nashville, wanted to grab a quick bite to eat as we got here. As we were walking around, we settled on this spot. We instantly noticed a unique atmosphere. There is a welcoming and relaxing ambience with a lot of neat games and wall decor. The service at the bar was prompt, friendly and courteous. The food was good but nothing to brag about (wings). A good variety of draft beers, cans, and cocktails to choose from. Definitely recommend if looking for a chill stop before heading downtown!

This place is an East Nashville staple. Multiple local beers on tap, pool tables and patio seating on the front and side of the building. The parking lot is a pay lot, but there is street parking available just try to avoid high traffic times to save money on parking.

My band went here after a gig in Nashville to get some late night grub and beers. It seems like a great sports bar but it also seemed understaffed or poorly staffed. Our waitress seemed VERY out of it and like she didn’t really care about taking or delivering orders. It took an hour to get our food and we had to get up from the table to get refills at the bar since she disappeared. That being said, I had the best damn fried chicken wrap I’ve ever had in my life. Wow!!! It was like the best McDonald’s snack wrap I’ve ever had but about 10x the size. I’d go back for the good food and good beer on tap but that service needs to improve.

Google
Came from out of town and this was a great place! Got the buffalo chicken quesadilla and onion rings, which were delicious. Just so happened to be a karaoke night and the MC was super great and encouraging. It’s nice seeing everyone just cut loose and have a great time!

Google
My favorite bar. I go every week for 2 for 1 beers, trivia, and wings. It’s a great place to meet other people in the community who want to build a bigger one. Cannot say enough about how great everyone that not only works there, but people who go there regularly. 10/10.

Google
This is a great spot to catch the game in 5 points they have plenty of television screens and plenty of seating. The food is simple and straightforward. Although this isn't the best place for a vegetarian or vegan, there are quite a few options. The black bean burger quesidilla is a great choice and comes on tomato basil tortilla. We also got nachos and tried the patty melt. Nothing wild and out of the norm cullinary wise here, but the food is very good. We got the beef chili on the side of the nachos and ended up dunking everything in them. The French fries are like cookout fries. You could describe the overall taste as "home-cooked." The food tastes like comfort food your mom would make. During happy hour, they have 2 for 1 beer and 2 for 1 well drinks, which comes out to around 5 dollars for 2 bourbon and cokes or vodka sodas. Which is great for pre gaming or a cheap low pressure date, and if it doesn't go well, you can bar hop and shoot your shot into the next date. There are a ton of great bars around here to walk to. I recommend this spot for travlers air bnbing in the area or traveling to 5 points during game night. The food is cheap and so are the drinks. Locals will love this spot for lunch and game day.

Google
I’ve been here like two times for drinks and it was a vibe but this time my friend and I️ ate in. Tinsley is a startender, first and foremost. The frozen blue drink tastes just like “blue”…..a perfect way to describe it!!! The grilled chicken quesadilla takes my big back away with the sun dried tomato wrap, and the pickle backs are a good pour! Definitely helped cheer me up on this shit*** day

Google
God I wish I could give this place a 5/5 but just can't because everything is great just not above and beyond. Amazing drinks specials, great staff, good clientele but it's a sports bar so it's not going to be a destination spot. But if I'm in East Nashville I'm definitely going here.

Yelp
Popped in here to have a few after dinner drinks after we ate in the area. Nice lively atmosphere, plenty of seating. They even have a back room with a bar but it was not open. They also have patio seating. Major bonus! I was told they are a Chicago Bears watch party place. I will definitely be going back during the season ( I can drown my sorrows if Da Bears continue to struggle). Although we did not eat we watched lots of orders go by and the food looked amazing. BTE thank you for creating a cool place to hang!

Yelp
Ordered the soup of the day... So light, not very filling but tons of spice... Highly suggested...

Yelp
I always love my experience and the staff. They treat you like family and go above and beyond.

Yelp
Really good chicken wrap.. fresh for a sport bar! The vibe is fun for a first night in Nashville..

Yelp
I love Beyond the Edge. It's one of the top sports bars in Nashville. The servers are always nice and I'm a big fan of the 2 for 1s. My one complaint is that on Sunday they only play sound for the Titans game (and Bears in the back den of course). I don't love that there isn't any football sound on if neither are playing. Seeing that it's a huge sports bar you'd think they would just pick one of the better games and play the sound. The music definitely takes away from the "football Sunday/sports bar" atmosphere. I hope this changes in the future.

Yelp
Great Onions rings. Burgers need seasoning. Good Margs. Cool atmosphere . They have trivia night which is a plus .

Richard C.

Yelp
Great place if you are not interested in the game. Food is good and the service is too. Sound for the game is awful.

Yelp
Best sports bar in Nashville. Great atmosphere, excellent service and pretty good food as well.

Yelp
There's something classic and comforting about Beyond the Edge. The bar has been around for years and has all the makings of a great dive spot - hot wings, cheap beer, and trivia nights. But while there are some things to love about this place, there are also a few drawbacks to keep in mind. First off, the hot wings are great. They're definitely the stand-out item on the food menu. However, the rest of the food isn't anything to write home about. It's decent enough, but don't expect any gourmet fare. It's bar food. Expect bar food. Don't expect anything less. Just let it be. At least they have food. If it isn't your vibe, eat at the food truck across the street before rolling into the joint. As for the drinks, they're not the best. They'll do the trick if you're just looking for something to sip on, but if you're a real cocktail connoisseur, look elsewhere. On the bright side, they do have some good deals on two-for-one beers, and the beer selection is good enough to have a decent variety. Trivia night is always a mixed bag. Sometimes, it's great, but other times, it can be frustrating. The real bummer is that the person who runs the trivia changes frequently, so you never really know what you're going to get. Plus, sometimes the game runs over two hours when it's supposed to wrap up by 9 PM. I just prefer consistency, and that doesn't exist when playing here. Just plan to be here for 2.5 or 3 hours, and you'll be fine. Parking is a bit of a pain, too. Your best bet is finding street parking, but if you can't snag a spot, you'll have to pay for the lot next door. Beyond the Edge only has three customer spots available, or at least that is what I saw when we pulled up. The latest time, some jackass double parked in 2 of the 3 spots. Service can also be hit or miss. While the servers are friendly, they're not always attentive. Though it might not be super busy on trivia night, we often find ourselves with one server running the entire time overloading them with patrons. One area where Beyond the Edge could improve is service by having more than just one server for trivia night. While the servers are friendly and personable, their ability to juggle the crowd, either small or intermediate in size, is lacking. If you're fine with taking things at a leisurely pace and aren't super hungry or in a rush for a drink, then you'll be fine here. It is a firm 3 stars for me. I'm not in love. I don't hate it. Beyond the Edge falls right in the middle of everything.

Yelp
I stopped in to watch the Titans and ended up shooting the breeze with a few fun people~ had a great bowl of chili and an ice cold beer, so I was a very happy camper!

Yelp
The food is great but The servers are beyond rude. I felt too uncomfortable to ask what i needed after my food came out. I then cashed out and the server said something about my tip, but she didn't take into considering that she acted more like I was an inconvenience and that's why I tipped her accordingly. Iv never experienced something like this before except everytime I come here.

Yelp
I came in to this East Nashville spot on a slow Wednesday night. The NHL draft was the biggest thing on TV. It wasn't crowded and the service was fine. I had (at the bartender's rec) the black bean quesadilla and it was really good. It was spicier than I expected, which was fine for me, but for others that might have been too much. The beer selection wasn't special, but the service and price made up for it. It didn't have the try-too-hard to be hip vibe that many places have in the area.

Yelp
So first time and won't be the last time , the service and food was great! Darcy the bartender was so friendly and really attentive even when it started to get busier in the day. It was gorgeous Sunday in East Nashville and must be a local hang out for an adult kickball leagues. Love the openness and the food was great. I had the black bean burger quesadilla that was recommended by Darcy and he did not stir me wrong. We will be back!!

Aisling K.

Yelp
My friends and i came in today. Food was good! There was a ginger waitress that seemed to be absolutely lovely. Unfortunately for us she was not our waitress. Tylar s was our waitress and she was very rude and condescending leading to us to not tip which is very unlike us as we all work in the american food service industry and understand tipping etiquette. Rudely told my friend "out" and pointed to the door when she was trying to order a sauce and then continued to take another 15 minutes to come out. Overall was unhappy with the service but the food and ambiance was great would have loved to come back in for drinks but unfortunately she ruined the experience.

Yelp
Great spot to catch football games, particularly Bears games as it's a Chicago Bears bar. Food is good but horrendously overpriced. Wings are $13 for six wings. Yes, six - and these are not while wings. Drinks are reasonably priced with domestic 16oz cans just $5 and on Sundays it's 2 for 1. There's tons of parking around the area - both paid and free. There's a $6 pay lot on the premises, but it's best to park on one of the side streets and just walk.

Blake M.

Yelp
We were going to try this place out, and were walking up the steps when a man claiming to be a bartender (and who was very obviously trashed) started yelling at us that we almost hit him with our car. He didn't want us to come in and started trying to start a fight, so we left. If that truly was an employee, it's definitely not a place we have any interest returning.

Luis A.

Yelp
this is a good bar I recommend the blt for a good night meal with a lemonade hit dif this spot need more attention fr

Yelp
The service was terrific, especially for game day. Tons of tvs and easy to see. The food is ok. Nothing great, but definitely bar food.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood bar for watching sports. Its big and not a dive but not a corporate feel either. I was there on a Sun afternoon and waitress was friendly and fast. Theyve a great beer selection with 2 for 1 most afternoons on select beers. Burger and fries were good, not spectacular and overall a cool place to hangout with lots of TVs showing every type of sport.

Yelp
Great bar! I'll be coming here more often. Great beer prices and pet friendly! Guinness and food is good. Tons of TVS, great place to watch the game

Yelp
Great local bar. One of the bars where everyone knows your name. Good food, great beer, trivia on Tuesdays. Will definitely go again

Yelp
I know this place is billed as a sports bar, but they actually have decent food also. A big negative for me that is probably a positive for certain people, is that smoking is allowed indoors. I did not let that affect my review though (maybe a tiny bit so 3.75 rating) since they do have an outdoor area and a non smoking section. The problem of course is that you are not drawn to the non smoking section since it does not appear open. That blurb aside let me tell you the food is surprisingly tasty for a bar. Also the value is very good, great happy hours, and reasonably priced food help make this a great place. They do have several tv's (it is a sports bar after all) and trivia/specials on various nights. There is a jukebox, pool table, and the usual sports bar stuff to do. I sat at the bar and the service was very good, even struck up a nice conversation the first time I came here. Another nice plus is that it is LGBT friendly, although I did not see any gender-less bathrooms unfortunately. If it was not so smoky I would probably come more often and stay longer, but I fear this would drive a lot of regulars away, since smoking indoors is rare (for a very good reason). Overall its worth a visit, if you smoke then even more so, if not just be prepared to smoke when your here, even if you have no desire to.

Yelp
Decided to stop by because we were looking for a bar with bar food. Well, this place is perfect if you're looking for just that. We sat outside because the inside was way too loud and busy. I wish the outside patio had more lighting. I had no idea what was crawling on me. Maybe that's a good thing. Expected when seated outside anywhere! We ordered chicken wings, fries, the Cuban flat and some chicken flautas. Nothing to rave about, the food was average. The fries were outstanding. The Cuban was pretty decent but more meat would have made it amazing. The drinks were really good and strong. The waitress was new but as helpful as she can be. I would come again for the drinks and maybe to try other items on the menu because it had a decent selection and vibe.

Yelp
This review is based off of two visits. First visit: Had a girl's happy hour with one of my girlfriends. I hadn't been before so I agreed to meet her here. For some reason, when I go to an establishment such as this, I always find myself ordering wings. It's 6PM on a Tuesday and guess what? They're out of wings. Uhhhh what??? How can you be out of wings at a bar? I ended up ordering a sandwich instead. I think it was a ham sandwich or something. It wasn't bad but as you can see, wasn't very memorable either. Second visit: The main stage of the Tomato Art Festival was actually set up in their parking lot. It was hot out and I wanted a seat and a nice adult beverage to cool me down. We found a booth inside and sat ourselves. The waitress was slooooowwww. She brought out our waters, took our drink orders and ... of course the order of 18 buffalo wings. They come in increments of 6,12 or 18 and in 5 different flavors. We ordered the hot with ranch. The wings were surprisingly very very good (at least to me and my friends). The wings were crispy and the buffalo sauce was perfect. Both times, whenever you need something extra like bleu cheese, more water or your check --you have to flag the waitress down and wait at least 5 minutes. I would come back and put up with the bad service for the wings. :)

Yelp
First time here and I liked the place. The atmosphere was great definitely sports bar all the way. Totally full on a Sunday afternoon in October with everyone watching Football on every screen in the joint. We seated ourselves in the second room back by the dart boards. The place was packed. The outside seating was full. The waitress was swamped. She came almost immediately to get our drink order. Tony ordered a bottle of Budweiser and it was two for one.. I ordered a unsweet tea with lemon and lime. Tony ordered Meatball Grinder with curly fries and I ordered Buffalo Chicken Flautas with a side of chips and salsa.. It was good but NOT the best... It was typical bar food. Everything was frozen and deep fried I would go here again! I liked the atmosphere.. Tony could watch football, drink beer and smoke cigarettes.. he loved it..
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to watch a game and hangout! They have plenty of TVs so you won't miss any of the action no matter who your teams are. The wings are superb, and they even have a pool table where you can play, watch, and eat. The beer selection is great and the service is friendly enough. Skip Nobles Kitchen and Beer Hall and come to Beyond the Edge!
google avatar

Anthony E.

Yelp
Was so happy to see BTE open again for football! Atmosphere was amazing, food was delicious!!! Unfortunately the red head who served us wanted absolutely nothing more then to be at home on her couch. At least 45 minutes between talking to the table, walked by empty glass 8 times before turning her head and saying I'm almost off y'all can wait. Once she's gone this will be the place to drink and enjoy football on Sunday!!!!

Yelp
What's w/ Nashville & allowing smoking inside bars? It's 2017, we deserve better than this. As you can gather, I am a non-smoker so the second I walked into this bar w/ some friends to watch some SEC games, my heart dropped, & I started digging in my purse for perfume or lotion or anything else that would mask the cigarette stank. Back years ago, I would've fit right in, enjoyed my beer while I smoked, but that was another lifetime. Our server informed us about the non-smoking section in the back...ahhh, hallelujah! We quickly moved once some Ky fans left (those guys are everywhere!). Although the doors were open to both rooms, the ventilation system in the non-smoking area was awesome. Perks for: -quick, friendly service -cold beer -electronic bar trivia -did I mention non-smoking back room?? Cons: -not dog friendly...I saw a sign up front that said something along the line of...no dogs allowed due to a recent employee incident...it's E.Nashville where everyone knows your dogs name. Not here tho!
google avatar

Yelp
Best late night happy hour in East Nash! Come here for the pre-game. Average price per beer was standard at $5-7 and they had a great variety. They have 2-4-1 drafts and can beers until 10PM, even on Saturdays. $3 well drinks. MIND BLOWN. This is a typical sports bar with TVs everywhere and smokers in every corner. I have yet to order food here but it looked like the typical bar fare. There's also a pool table for anyone who wants to play a game while watching a game. Service was friendly.

Karli G.

Yelp
Horrible service. Waitress is very rude and does not care about customers. Never got service. Had to find someone every time we ordered food or drinks. The rudest place I have ever been to.

Colin O.

Yelp
Easily the worst place I have been to in Nashville, food was horrible, felt sick the next day. Service was ok.
google avatar

Rachel V.

Yelp
A true sports bar!! So many TVs!! All the NFL games were shown here. There's a good selection of beers. They have specials daily. Even on Sunday they had buy one get one beer. The place was packed though so get here early. The service was pretty good considering how busy they were. I didn't have any food so can't comment on that
google avatar

Thad B.

Yelp
Note: This is a 21+ bar/restaurant! They are also known for allowing smoking. Opt for the patio and one of the great servers will make it out to you, if you cant tolerate smoke. Food: BTE boast an expansive menu of bar munches, and some more original bar selections. Anything buffalo is good and the queso is a hit. The food is always hot and quick! Drink: You can almost always find a 2-for-1going on here. The beer list is impressive and the servers/bartenders actually know what theyre talking about. Ask and you shall receive. Watch out for the double liquor because responsible drinking can quickly turn into unresponsive. Just kidding, but be responsible! Service: Ive never had a bad experience or even a wrong order here. In fact some of the staff will remeber what your order the last time you visit. The staff is busy, yet always pleasant. Oh yeah theres a bangin Jukebox and trivia night. Come, drink, eat!
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
Um, okay. Weird rating alert.. 3 1/2 stars for a place with great food and killer drink deals. Their quesadillas will honestly change your life. In the best way.. It's a chill dive bar feel, so if you're not into that here is your warning. It can get smoky at times, but they have patio seating. A minor note: if you're not LGBTQ friendly, maybe kick rocks and skip this place. Love is love.

Matt A.

Yelp
Excellent place to watch football. Jess P is a world class server who actually cares about her job.

Yelp
**Cough cough** That's me prepping for my review. Cause the first thing that comes to mind when I think of BtE is all the smoke that billows out the front door upon entry. Gotta love the East side and that 98% of the bars allow smoking. Sigh. The food is pretty decent bar fare and I often find myself here to get a few drinks and maybe a snack whilst watching (or in my case ignoring) the games that may or may not be on at the time. My friends seem to always congregate here for various sporting events or to meet up, so I reluctantly will join them. But, the drinks are pretty reasonably priced so all in all its not so bad. Just don't wear anything that absorbs the smoke and be prepared to wash out your hair a few times.
google avatar

Hank D.

Yelp
Not Smoke free which is not great but the 241 is the best deal in town. The burger is great and outside comes alive with music at some point during the night. It's a nice option if you can't stand smoke of the other options. BBQ is ok but I would prefer Edley's.
google avatar

Caitlin D.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I am not a sports fan, so my review is based solely on food, service and ambiance. I have come here multiple times for work happy hours, a birthday party, and recently for dinner. I just haven't been impressed yet. One problem for me, that will be a plus for smokers, is that it's super smoky both inside and outside. We sat on the patio thinking it would be fine, but shortly after sitting down a giant party came and all lit up. Nasty. The food is nothing to write home about. I had a salad, which rivaled a salad you can buy at Wendy's. Pale, tasteless lettuce, tomatoes and shredded carrots. Rights out of a bag. My buffalo chicken wrap was made with a tortilla so dry, it was cracking. The chicken was also extremely dry and had a cheap sauce taste to it. Unimpressed.
google avatar

Ashlyne F.

Yelp
This is my kind of bar! Went for the first time Saturday afternoon and loved the atmosphere. Not too busy but a ton of people watching sports. Good local beer selection. I didn't eat but my friend got wings and fries. The wings looked soo good and the fries were bomb!! Smoking inside but that's a plus for me. There really weren't many people smoking though when I was there. This is my new favorite bar and I can't wait to go back for the wings!
google avatar

Yelp
Grear place to watch the Bears game if you're in Nashville! Makes you feel like you're at home.

Yelp
I must admit, sports bars aren't exactly my cup of tea. But it seems to me that a bar with an adrenaline-pumping, high energy image and a dedication to sports of all kinds should have a few more TVs. Beyond the Edge offers NTN trivia every night, poker tournaments on Wednesdays, and Predators and Titans parties, but the atmosphere is just a bit lacking. BTE's drink selection is probably their best feature, and they offer specials pretty regularly. The menu isn't bad but pretty typical for a bar--mini-pizzas, quesadillas, et cetera. Their hummus pizza and sandwiches are decent, and prices are just cheap enough. The Edge is located in the "bar hole," so it pulls in quite a bit of traffic on weekends. (Warning: this can often lead to belligerent crowds). Darts and pool are available though boards and tables are a bit limited. The patio is pretty lovely, but the decor and vibe indoors are a bit drab. The staff is mostly friendly, however odds are good that service won't exactly be speedy. BTE is a decent joint to check out a game if that's your bag, but if you're out on the town, I'd recommend only popping in for just a drink or two.
google avatar

Nickie G.

Yelp
I don't really get over to East Nasty very often, but if I do make it over there I like to hit up Beyond the Edge. Why? Sports bar with tons of TVs on the game and they have the sound on the main game playing that day. Decent bar food, I totally enjoy the burgers there. Um...ALCOHOL! Beer! Liquor! And I don't mind being able to have a cig if I want one either. People are way more laid back and less ironic hipster in this joint than others on the East side. I can appreciate that. If I lived on the East side this is probably where I would go to watch all football game that I care about.

Yelp
For the past three years of living in Nashville, this has become my home bar. I moved here from Chicago and this city has an awful selection of sports bars. We have tried every bar claiming to be a sports bar. This is the best of all of them. This bar has good sized tvs, delicious bar food compared to others in the area, great drink deals on a daily basis, and the best service for how busy they get. They get to know you and have never been mean. Some days are slower than others, but it is based on how many people are in the bar. The management is seriously so nice and communicative with its patrons. This is how a bar keeps people coming back. The one star deduction is for the smoking. They have tried to make it better by having the back room that is non-smoking. Smoking just get intolerable. They do have outdoor seating in the back and in the front. 2-4-1 drinks on Sundays. Bears fans on game days in the back room. They played the sound throughout the entire bar during the World Series.
google avatar

Armando A.

Yelp
Loved it there! Couldn't be happier with the service, beer selection and chicken wings. Will definitely be back
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
A great bar to go and watch any sporting event. We specifically went to see the NBA finals game and although crowded, we still found a space to sit. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, they had plenty of TV's with various sporting events on and everyone wasn't afraid to express how they were feeling about the basketball game. The staff was very attentive and friendly, finding us shortly after we sat down to take our order. They also do 2 for the price of 1 beer specials. The night we went, the special was specifically for Blue Moon but I hear it varies. Additionally they do have a great outdoor patio to sit and chill on. The only downside is that you have to pay to park in the parking lot outside of the bar but it's not an outrageous fee.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
Located in East Nashville at Five Points, this local dive bar serves up food and local craft beers. We first attempted to sit inside, however they allow smoking indoors and myself and another friend of mine can not tolerate the smell of smoke so we opted for fresh air outside. Being from Iowa, we just are not use to public places allowing smoking. Besides the smoke, this place was nice. More laid-back and chill than the Honky Tonks on Broadway. Our waitress was very nice and did excellent (it was her first day)! You rocked it girl! Not sure if I would go back though, I wish there was live music as when in Nashville I would love to hear a local band!

Yelp
Huh. I'm a little surprised by the other reviews on here. I've often stopped by here to meet friends (since they all seem to live on the East side). Maybe it is more of a neighborhood bar, but I think it's a good one. Some of the food is a notch above your typical bar food in my eyes. I enjoy the hummus quesadilla quite a bit. The Italian sandwich is also pretty good. Two-for-one beer nights on Tuesday (including Yazoo). Yeah, it might be hard to flag down a waiter or waitress, but that's why I just go to the bar. I guess it depends what you're looking for in a bar. If, like me, you're just looking to have some beers, I think Beyond the Edge is a great spot.

Yelp
I came here with a few friends to watch the Cubbies play. It was my first time here and I had a great time. I ordered a pizza and we also got some nachos. The nachos I must say were on fire. SO good. We also made it for 2-1's. Who doesn't love free beer? We got a spot on the back patio so it was perfect with the weather being the way it has here in Nashville. It was busy but it didn't effect us because we had a quick server. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in East Nashville!
