Our company's holiday food tour in Red Bank, NJ, with Alessia from Beyond the Plate, was beyond spectacular! Everything was perfectly orchestrated so we showed up to each restaurant with a delicious meal awaiting us. Each presentation showcased the personality of their menu and highlighted the talents of the chef. At our last stop, B2 Bistro, we were even surprised with a special mixology treat ("The Hipster") and a slice of the chef's renowned rum cake, which measured up to some of the best Jamaican recipes around! We started our event at Toast City Diner, who served a delicious brunch creation featuring two pancakes flanking two fried eggs, pork roll slices and cheese. DELICIOUSLY JERSEY! Our middle stop was as authentic as they come at Mi Lupitas Kitchen, where we enjoyed a charcuterie board of Mexican delights including Birria Tacos, Chicken Taquitos, Carnita Tostadas, Street Corn, Guac and fresh-squeezed watermelon and mango juices. Alessia explained that they hand-make all of their tortilla products with a unique masa and it really showed! To wrap up the day, we were each gifted a custom-made cookie with our company branding on it from 'Jersey Girls Cookies'. Not only did it look beautiful, it was delicious, too. (YES, I ATE IT!) Overall, it was truly a memorable experience and the energy, organization and style provided by Alessia is what made the day a total success. I would recommend this type of event to anyone looking to spoil their friends or colleagues, not only for the holidays but any time of the year!

Our team took a food tour in Red Bank with Beyond the Plate Food Tours, led by the owner, Alessia, and it was a deliciously memorable experience. She was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and showed us some local gems we probably wouldn’t have discovered on our own while giving us the history of the food scene in Red Bank. We started at Toast Diner with the off-menu Shamewich (eggs, pork roll, cheese between two pancakes) and a mimosa. At Mi Lupita’s, my favorite stop, we tried choriqueso, elote, birria tacos, chicken taquitos, and fresh juices. They import their corn and make tortillas by hand, which you can really taste. At the B2 Bistro, the seasonal margarita was excellent. Jersey Girl Cookies hand-delivered, branded with our work logo, cookies to us there before we headed out, which was a thoughtful last touch. Overall, it was a well-organized, enjoyable tour with great food and a guide who truly knows the foodie communities of New Jersey. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Red Bank, Jersey City or Somerville.

Beyond the Plate Food Tours delivered an absolutely unforgettable evening for our group! From start to finish, everything was perfectly planned and executed. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were spot-on, and the desserts were the perfect sweet ending (or middle in my case!). What truly set this experience apart was the opportunity to interact with the restaurant owners—such a special touch that made the night feel personal and unique. Our guide, Alessia, was nothing short of amazing. She brought the area’s history to life with engaging stories, and her warm, joyful personality made everyone feel welcome and excited to be part of the tour. She truly elevated the entire experience and made it one we’ll be talking about for a long time. I can’t wait to join Alessia again—whether it’s another food tour, a cocktail class, or a cooking experience. The possibilities are endless, and if this night was any indication, every option is a guaranteed hit!

This was my first food tour. It was such a great experience meeting the restaurant owners and hearing all about their journey from other countries and coming to Kearny NJ and started their restaurants. The food items were traditional food items that they had been making since they were young . Each restaurant was a homage to the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. I enjoyed tasting all the different delicious foods and desserts. I enjoyed meeting everyone on the tour. Looking forward to participating in future food tour events. Thank you to the host of beyond the plate.

This was one of the most lovely experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending! We toured Jersey City having a little bit of food and some amazing drinks at each stop! I will not reveal where we went, but, our hostess Alessia is always mixing it up anyway! Constantly changing locations and restaurants so you are never bored. But let me just say I had an absolutely amazing time trying some delicious food at places I had never been! I also appreciated a little bit of history we got at every stop! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves Jersey city or wants to experience it!

Alessia is amazing. The Hispanic heritage food tour in Kearny was a great experience. Learning of great little family-owned Hispanic cuisine that I would not have had the opportunity to try was it not for discovering them on this food tour. Great job!
