LA’s Newest Vegan Contender Brings Crispy Pizzas, Mozzarella Sticks, and Punk Music to Silver Lake - Eater LA

"Nerano’s old-school-esque second-floor restaurant reopens for dining in Beverly Hills today. Owners Andy Brandon-Gordon and Carlo Brandon-Gordon created BG as a nod to old-school Italian-American restaurants from the mid-20th century, complete with dark lighting, table lights, and a casual atmosphere. It’s open every Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m." - Mona Holmes

The service was top-notch. The ambiance was very sexy & romantic....The food was super good. If you want a romantic evening with well made drinks and a nice staff, this is a great place to go. Everyone from the valet to the bartender (Jackie I believe is her name) was extremely welcoming. The manager even followed up with us and ask how the service was which added a nice personal touch. I will be coming back !

We recently came here for dinner and were extremely disappointed with the whole experience. Once we were seated, it took nearly 20 minutes to get the menu and another 15 minutes before the waiter, Guido, came to take our drink order. He appeared to be the only server on the floor so I would normally be forgiving of the delays, but it appeared as though he was more interested in hanging out with a blonde woman with glasses (who also seems to work there, despite sitting at a table most of the night), taking photos on his phone, and having drinks with friends who came in to hang out and watch the burlesque dancers. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. We had the burrata salad, chicken alfredo, and chicken parm. Everything was flavorless and dully presented. I have no idea how food and service of this quality can cost so much. The food runners were all very nice and attentive, but the server and bespeckled blonde woman seemed more interested in hanging out with their friends than doing their job. Honestly, I think this may have been the most disappointing dining experience I've had.

Yelp
Awesome food! I enjoyed all three dishes that I had. I had the Bianca Pizza along with the pea risotto and the burrata with tomatoes and everything was so fresh, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor! The host and waitstaff were also kind and helpful. Definitely will be one of my go to places.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place because everything looked so good. But I was so disappointed with every dish. The yellowtail appetizer was good, but the crudo trio was way too fishy. The cesar salad wasn't bad, but it was super small - more like a side salad. The gnudi/gnocchi was not good - it was very heavy on the pesto and truffle. It's weird to mix the two flavors and they were both strong. Not a fan. We had a vegan pasta that was decent and simple. The bolognese was also ok. The diavola pizza was terrible. It was floppy and too saucy, and had no salame. They claimed that it was in the sauce. The best part of the night was the chocolate hazelnut dessert. That was delicious. The Panna Cota and the sorbet were just alright. On top of this all, service was terrible. Our server barely paid any attention to us. He failed to write our order down properly. Sad to say I won't be back :/

Yelp
I found my new Italian restaurant. Didn't think this was possible, given that I'm not an Italian lover. Nerano, you made me an Italian lover. Let's jump right into this review. What we had - 1. Garganelli al Ragú Garganelli 'all'Uovo', Black Angus Beef Ragù 'Bolognese Style', Mutti Tomato, Parmigiano Mantecato - Delicious! 2. Saturday Night Special Lamb Chops (2) 8-9 ozs of meat, baby potatoes, grilled asparagus - Delicious! 3. Dessert Trio Chef's Choice of Three Desserts Served on a Large Silver Platter - we were allowed to choose our 3 desserts, we tried - Nocciolino Guanaja Dark Chocolate Mousse, Crunchy Hazelnut, Gelato Gianduja, Torched Italian Meringue - OMG, it was amazing! The meringue (slightly warm) on top paired well with the chocolate mousse and gelato (chilled). The warm and cold mixture plus the crunchy hazelnut was the WOW factor. Tiramisù Ladyfingers, Espresso Coffee, Mascarpone Crema, Dark Cocoa - I personally didn't try this dessert, but the comment was, it's very good! Gelato del Giorno Daily Selection of Gelato - I don't recall the name of the gelato, but it mirrors chocolate chip ice cream just way better, light, and creamy. Pros 1. Service was personable. From the host/ess, bartender(s), waiters, and management, everyone was nice and engaging. Nerano is more than dinner. It's an enhanced dining experience. **shout out to the staff, bartenders, David & Zander. You two stole the show with your amazing service and conversation. ** 2. Food is delicious! Nerano keeps it simple...amazing flavors and simple ingredients. 3. Intimate dining setting. 4. Full-bar if alcohol is your pleasure. 5. Valet parking is an option. Cons 1. Due to the intimate setting, I highly recommend a reservation on the weekend. Potential wait when you arrive if the restaurant is busy. 2. May have difficulty finding street parking due to the area. 3. Food is delicious, but portion size is small. For me, it's enough. I eat small meals, and I'm strict on portion control, but for some people, maybe you, the portion size may not be filling. I definitely recommend Nerano. You won't be disappointed. It's truly a hidden gem. This is the restaurant that you make plans to visit. Want to visit. Look forward to visiting. Photos are dark, lighting was dim in the restaurant.

Yelp
What an amazing restaurant and delicious menu from the great chef Michele Lisi of various Italian cuisine mostly of Southern influence. I was in heaven! Incredible hidden gem with great romantic ambiance. Wonderful service and great food! We chose indoor dining but there is an incredible outdoor patio in the back if you wish for outdoors. I even saw the amazing Diane Keaton this evening who I absolutely love!

Yelp
Sublime. It was one of the best chocolate desserts. We came for a late lunch mid week, and it was uncrowded and perfect. Service was excellent. Wonderful wine pairings with the pasta . Fresh made pasta and light sauce options. This is a little off the beaten path in Beverly Hills and not a fabulous view but not bad either. It's cozy inside. I agree reminded me of a cross between California and Europe. It probably would be loud if it was a busy time to be there. It looks like they have space to do outdoor parties and an up stairs private area. I'm dreaming about the chocolate mousse dessert and hope to return Parking offered by valet and meter on street. We parked in the many lots on the high streets of BH then walked. I wish they had a fully plant based option - for vegans. and/or those avoiding dairy. GF VG is always hard at Italian but so appreciated. So a nudge ...

Yelp
Nerano is a wonderful upscale, sophisticated Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills. On one visit here my dining companion told me three times that "this is a nice place" and that it "reminds me of Europe". I think that sums up the restaurant very well. It's a class act. A more cozy and private Beverly Hills space away from the more touristy section of the city. Nerano is a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion. The inside is nice and cozy and romantic for date night. They also have a beautiful patio outside that is excellent for daytime dining. Lighting on the patio is great for pictures too! You really can't go wrong with whatever you order on the menu here. Everything tastes very fresh, flavorful and in season. My favorite thing to order is the barbabietole which has roasted yellow beets, sonoma goat cheese, toasted hazelnuts, and tuscan mint. It is so refreshing. We also ordered the special baby gem salad which paired well with the beet one. My dining companion and I both ordered the fish specials. One was a sole that came with a lemon caper sauce, kobacha squash, and broccolini. The sole was just melt in your mouth delicious and the veggies were perfectly cooked. The other fish was an Alaskan black cod with fennel crema, pesto and vegetable caponata. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors of the fish and accompaniments were fantastically tasty. A chef's kiss to the special fish entrees! For dessert we had the Italian peach cake. Again, a gorgeous presentation! The dessert was lite and peaches inside tasted so perfectly ripe. The ice cream and fresh berries were the ideal accompaniments. I wish this cake was on the regular menu for the summer! This meal left me satisfied because of the generous portions but it was also very lite and healthy. I felt good after eating it. Service was friendly. Courses were timed well. Metered parking on the street and valet also available.

Yelp
I don't know how I'm constantly able to make last minute reservations at this place. It's in a great location, the food is exceptional, and the staff is the friendliest of any restaurant I've ever been to (huge shout out to Jesse, best waiter). Nerano has the best pizza and pasta and the menu changes slightly every season so I can try something new every visit. This easily the best dinner date location around.

Yelp
FOOD: Very Good! SERVICE: Excellent! AMBIANCE: Love! It's small and cozy. They do have a large covered Patio in the back although it was closed today. I do highly recommend for a small group lunch or with friends. I will plan to come for dinner and check that out. The Manager was the nicest and most attentive!

Yelp
we loved our experience at Nerano. From the moment you walk through the doors you can tell it's going to be a lovely experience. The service was great, from the hostess to the server. We started with the crudo trio & prosciutto and melon. We loved both.. very light but flavorful. The prosciutto was excellent and perfectly sliced. For dinner we decided to share a couple different things. The gnudi truffle, a red sauce / bolognese pasta and their whole branzino filet that is flown in from Europe. Everything was perfectly executed. The shaved truffles on the gnudi that melted in your mouth was easily my favorite but everything was so different so I was really glad we decided to share. With each bite I felt like I was transported by the ocean in Positano. We each got a glass of their Pinot noir for the meal which paired wonderfully with each dish. To end our meal we get their lemon sorbet, which is always my favorite. Our whole experience was perfect. I also loved that on their outdoor patio they had old Hollywood movies playing on a projector for a more fun / casual vibe outside and then the more formal setting inside, so you can really go for either type of occasion. I would walk by this place often when I worked in century city & I'm so glad we finally stopped in. Parking is easy too with either valet or plenty of metered parking in this area of BH, so always a plus in LA.

Yelp
YUM!!!! Cute restaurant - my coworkers came here last year for an event and took me for the first time this year! They do outdoor dining as well but I think it was too cold this year so we sat inside. Started off with the Under The Volcano (tequila cocktail with black salt) which was amazing. We got the special which was white asparagus w/ truffle and also the calamari. Both were delicious. The calamari came with fried lemon which I haven't seen before but it was soooo yummy!!! Not to sour and went so well with calamari! For mains I got the special truffle risotto with sausage, my coworker got the same but with pappardelle instead. It was incredible but the sausage was not very present and about half way through the truffle got a little too much for me. Still an excellent dish though. My other coworkers got the ragú and the crab risotto which they said were delicious as well. The desserts were probably my favorite!! Tiramisu was okay (I'm not a tiramisu fan in general though). The sorbet (lemon and raspberry) were amazing and I liked that they could make the portion smaller - it's originally 4 scoops total but they cut it down to 2 scoops. That chocolate dessert that I can't remember the name of was hands down the best dessert I've had in a loooooong time! It had meringue on top, a mix of chocolate-y goodness throughout the cup (including ice cream) and there were crunchy little chocolate bits as well. SO GOOD and I'm not even a big chocolate fan but I could've eaten that whole cup by myself!

Yelp
Always a delicious meal here...my fave is the pollo paillard . The service is always top notch . Lunches are very active and there's a beautiful outdoor patio with lots of ambiance for dinner!

Yelp
4.5 rating - solid food, great service, cozy ambiance and reasonably priced. Came here on a pinch because the other restaurant I had reservations for had a power outage. The narrow entry way was very welcoming with hanging bistro lights, and it led guests to the back outdoor patio that was beautifully decorated with lights, lit trees, and a projected black and white movie on a building wall. I also appreciated the abundance of heated lamps. We were offered complimentary Evian water, and the waiter was very attentive. As the night progressed, he wasn't AS attentive as when we first sat down, but that's ok, I get it was busy. Food that was ordered: Principessa San Marzano Tomato, Burrata, Smoked Pancetta, Basil This pizza was EXCELLENT. Very thin crust, needed to eat with cutlery, melt in your mouth. My first bite was filled with basil, tomato and burrata goodness. Tasted very Italian :) Tagliolini Limone Home-made Tagliolini, Amalfi Lemon, Basil Filanger, Parmigiano Reggiano 24 Months Did a half order on this pasta. It's a simple pasta with hints of lemon, cheese and basil. Not overpowering, a very delicate flavor, and wonderful with some Parmesan cheese Panna Cotta Tahitian Vanilla Panna Cotta, Wild Berry Coulis Light, great flavors, and loved raspberry and blackberry toppings. A very light dessert and perfect for those wanting something light to change up the palate. Nocciolino Guanaja Dark Chocolate Mousse, Crunchy Hazelnut, Gelato Gianduja, Torched Italian Meringue YESSSSS!! This was my favorite item of the night. A bit on the heavier side, but I loved the hazelnut crunch and the chocolate mousse. It was such a nice balance and reminded me of Nutella. Valet parking available for $15 ($12 for lunch) Very recommended for those looking for a nice Italian meal.

Yelp
Dropped by for a quick dinner last Friday night and it was delicious and fun! The panna cotta was out of this world.

Yelp
Nice food! Very impressive! Definitely worthy going. And the service is also good, the waiters there are very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Very costly. Had the Dover sole.. over $100! Mashed potatoes served ice cold..they had to warm it up. Squash soup had a strange taste to it. Salmon, although good, was way too Salty. Chicken was excellent as were the desserts. Restaurant noisy. Alcohol drinks were excellent but again higher in price than most restaurants of this caliber. Server most cordial but often was too busy to attend to our table. Host was most welcoming . But for what we paid and what was experienced...- a disappointment!

Yelp
Absolutely remarkable food at Nerano in Beverly Hills last week. Appetizers included a crudo sampler with yellowtail, Alaskan halibut and salmon. All of the different fish were fresh and delicious. My favorite of the three was the halibut, served with cilantro, avocado, pink peppercorn and lime juice. It was light and addictive. For starters I also had the Polpo alla Griglia, a grilled Spanish octopus with olive oil over mashed potatoes. This was one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had. The octopus was grilled to perfection with distinguished char marks and had a unique flavor. I would come back just for this dish! For my entrée, the Gnudi al Tartufo Nero, a ricotta and spinach gnudi with mushrooms, toasted sage and Norcia black truffle. My server told me this dish has been on the menu since day one of the restaurant opening and I can see why! It was phenomenal. Creamy, light, airy, delicate, and most of all delicious. Clearly handmade, this dish made my taste buds sing. I also had the evening special, Colorado lamb chops with tri-color cauliflower and wild Oregon mushrooms. The portion size of the lamb was generous and the seasoning well, however I would have preferred a bit more of a sear on the chops. The cauliflower was absolutely delicious and a great side. For dessert, I had the "Dessert of the Day," a traditional olive oil cake with sorbet. The cake was great and served with fresh fruit, a perfect ending to a delightful dinner.

Yelp
Adorable, cozy, yet modern Italian eatery with warm candlelight and brick walls. Dress up a bit, as the atmosphere is upscale casual. Service was incredibly friendly, and our waiter, Jesse, was top notch. Without going into everything we ordered, suffice it to say the food is expertly prepared with super fresh ingredients. The ragú pasta (bolognese) was richly flavored and absolutely delicious. The pasta was cooked al dente, just the way it should be. The special we also ordered was unexpected and a home run: three large Santa Monica langostinos, grilled to char perfection, served with grilled corn on the cob. So good! Wine list is solid, and everyone we met on staff was friendly and funny. I highly recommend this lovely Italian-Californian restaurant.

Yelp
I chose this charming Italian restaurant for a dinner with my mom and had a lovely night! The service was really good and our server was so friendly and helpful with the recommendations. We got the martini & rosé, zucchini fries, a truffle-forward pizza (Bianca) and pasta (Gnudi) and dark chocolate mousse (Nocciolino). The food didn't blow me away but it was definitely edible and better than the average Italian joint in LA. Price-wise, it was fairly expensive but then again we did get two dishes with truffle. I probably won't return because there are so many phenomenal Italian restaurants in the area, but that said it's worth eating here for the service alone. Parking: There's a valet. Ambiance: 4/5 Food: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 Overall: 4/5 Would Return: No

Yelp
Enjoyable Italian dinner with pizza and pasta. We sat inside with a view of the kitchen and had our privacy in a corner, I believe the outdoor was closed. Service was good, server divulged a little much about himself possibly but made for interesting conversation. The marinara DOC pizza was simple and quality tomatoes, and the Gnudi al Tartufo Nero was really unique with a fair amount of truffles. There was 2 of us and it felt like a moderate dinner (May need to order more if hungry).

Yelp
I've been here more than several times and their staff is always wonderful and gracious. It all starts with Nicolas in Valet & Samantha at check in. The food is fulfilling and delicious along with some awesome cocktails. My personal favorite is the "Come Basil Sorrento". Apparently, it's one of their top cocktails and highly requested. NEFT Vodka and Limoncello. Mmmmmm! Thank you to the entire Team. Especially their Manager, Guido, and Mixologist, Laird. You are amazingly, amazing!

Yelp
Kind of disappointing... I made the mistake of thinking that I was allowed to park in the parking lot their entrance was located at. The receptionist let me know I was in the wrong by starring me down and telling me I can't park there. Not a big deal but when that awkward moment was the most memorable part of your experience, it doesn't say much for everything else. However, once we confirmed our reservation, the service was more welcoming. Our food was good, but nothing alluring. The best part about this restaurant was the classy ambiance and the beautiful patio decor.

Yelp
I want to compliment Nerano on their excellent customer service, specifically Francesco. He diligently followed up and helped me to with a gift card transaction. I am so thrilled with the level of excellent service he provided

Yelp
To Cut to the chase: An excellent venue with excellent food and cocktails. Great people watching. I always like coming here. I might not think of it often, but whenever I drive by I always say to myself (or a companion), "I need to remember to go to Nerano." I came here with my parents for their anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. The food is always excellent, the cocktails (especially those with special requests like 'spice' or other variants) are always well balanced, waitstaff is right on point and the atmosphere is welcoming and roomy. My most recent foray was outside in the back patio/parking area. People watching here is a wonderful bonus. I look forward to remembering this place again soon.

Yelp
Had a business dinner yesterday at my favorite Italian joint in Beverly Hills and they did not disappoint... yet again! The beet salad is as tender as the finest salmon sashimi and a must have for anyone. Igor, our server, and the manager, Guido, did a great job treating pur table to a fantastic day evening. The wood oven pizza Bianca with squash blossoms and the Pappardelle alla Genovese were my choice for the evening. Had I hd a little more room, I would have definitely gone for the 30oz Ribeye and pair it with one of their amazing red wine options. I did try their local organic handmade limoncello which was a great way to end the evening. Thank you guys. See you soon!

Yelp
Reserved a table for 2 at 7PM on a Saturday night, but we got seated at 7:30PM. The food was not that good as pictures shown!

Yelp
It took me a while to find the best pizza in town but I finally did! Being part Italian, we don't play around when it comes to food. Everything was delicious, from the starters to the desserts. Highly recommend anyone to check this place out!

Yelp
05/12/2021 This is such a fancy place, even if it's patio dining. There is a movie projected to the canvas above and mood lighting as the sun goes down. As I am looking for BG Pizzeria, when I called, it's the same place as Nerano with the same kitchen. I made reservations because most restaurants are taking reservations as we return to indoor patio dining. It was a bit chilly this evening so there are heaters running for those seated closer to the tables by the perimeter. What I didn't like is smelling exhaust from these heaters. The dish I selected is this pasta with lemon sauce that was sweet yet tangy. This was very delicious. It was called Tagliolini al Limone with perfect al dente homemade Tagliolini. I want to come here again once they have their dining room available and not the patio if they are going to run these heaters. You may want to dress up to dine and I'll wear what I wore to work.

Yelp
Nerano: A Convenient Italian Dining Experience with Authentic Ambiance in Beverly Hills Rating: Nerano, located on the eastern edge of Beverly Hills on Santa Monica Blvd, is a delightful Italian restaurant that offers a convenient dining experience. They provide valet parking, though we didn't utilize it during our visit. Reservations can be made online, and you can choose to sit inside with a street view, outside in a charming garden setup, or curbside facing the valet and Santa Monica Blvd. On the night of our visit, it wasn't busy, and we opted to sit in the back garden area. Our waiter and back server had heavy accents, possibly Italian, which added to the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was stellar throughout our meal. We each ordered a light pasta dish, and the table was served a flatbread that was surprisingly tasty. While the food tasted fresh and we had no complaints, it wasn't the most amazing Italian cuisine we've ever had. It was, however, conveniently located within walking distance for us, which was a plus. We didn't order dessert or wine, but the overall dining experience was enjoyable. One interesting observation was the seating arrangement. Despite the availability of numerous tables, every party that arrived after us was seated immediately adjacent to us, which was a bit unusual. The restaurant is equipped with outdoor heaters, ensuring a comfortable dining experience even in breezy conditions. In conclusion, while Nerano might not offer the best Italian cuisine you've ever tasted, it does provide a pleasant dining experience with its authentic ambiance and convenient location.

Yelp
We went to dinner tonight to celebrate my girlfriend's son's 21 st birthday. When I sat down, the waiter saw a birthday card and asked whose bday? I told him and asked that they bring a desert with a candle and not sing happy day. He said absolutely! We ordered our food, which was ok. We asked for some additional bread too. Long story short, we were asked what we wanted for desert. We ordered Tiramisu. Tiramisu came without a candle. They also charged us for the bread. When I Spoke to the waiter and manager , they said 'sorry'!! We will never go back to this restaurant!!! Horrible service!!

Yelp
The menu at Nerano is centered around seafood and features a variety of Italian classics, including pizza, pasta, and meat and vegetarian dishes. Notably, the Tagliata di Kobe, a 12 oz. AU Wagyu NY Steak Score 6 with olive oil, potato purée, chips, and grilled radicchio trevisio, is a meat lover's dream. Nerano offers a family-style Sunday brunch menu that includes spaghetti with a choice of pomodoro, bolognese, or aglio olio e pepperoncino sauce, as well as a kids' menu with favorites such as Margherita pizza, spaghetti al pomodoro, and penne al burro. Yelp
For a "upscale" restaurant DEBBIE has no customer appreciation. If I could give a negative rating I would. I came on for a quick lunch takeout only to be forced to waste almost an hour for their staff to figure out how to run my card. They blamed my card for being declined and I called my credit card only to find out there was no declined by the credit card rather it was Nerano's machine broke down. No only apologized to me and no one offered anything for embarrassing me and making me wait. No one came by at any point but I had to chase them down to make them do a manual card swipe. The food...nasty. tiny hard meatballs no sauce no seafood and the soup was not as described. I called and was told to email Debbie. I wrote her a detailed email with photos and she didn't acknowledge anything. Instead she made excuses stating food is best eaten hot despite HER STAFF making me wait for practicaly an hour. I even asked of the food is cold because of the long wait and was told by her staff that it's still hot. I ordered a lot of food too!

Yelp
Often walked or drove by Nerano but never stopped in. Finally tried it for weekday lunch and understand why it's usually busy. Solid Italian restaurant with good vibe, great service and delicious food. Definitely adding to our rotation. The restaurant is inspired by one of my top places to go: the Amalfi Coast of Italy.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my gf and sat outside. Great ambiance, service and food. Our servers were both very attentive and we enjoyed their recommendations. Don't skip the specials as they will be different every time. My gf ordered the whit truffle pasta at $160. The executive chef comes out and shaves the white truffle table side. Smells delicious and tasted fantastic. I ordered the uni squid ink pasta which was also the special. Loved it. I also had the trio crudo which was great. Ordered my mezcals drink too as usual. Make reservations as they are quite busy. Trust

Yelp
Great food. We tried a little bit of everything, and the service was excellent. I have nothing wrong to say about this place. Also, great ambiance, and as busy as they are, you have no problem getting a table. And Last but most important, they have the best wine list.

Yelp
Ordered to go. My boyfriend and I wanted Italian food and this came up on Maps & Yelp. We both thought it would be good. When ordering we had hard time understanding the other caller. We asked if they had scallops and he said yes. Unfortunately we ended up paying for a salad that wasn't worth 25 dollars. Didn't get scallops. They need to work on customer service. Very rude when picking up order. Waited 15 mins. Didn't get help for 10, stood by the door for a while waiting to be assisted. My boyfriends pizza was extremely cold. Like is been sitting out for more then 30 mins. We got there early hoping everything was ready and fresh. I wouldn't recommend this place. NOT WORTH 93 dollars for Food wasn't the best.

Molto bene! Wonderful little Italian restaurant with superb service and delicious food. My daughter had the halibut which melted in her mouth. She also had the olive oil mashed potatoes were perfectly creamy. I had a pizza with prosciutto, mushrooms and artichokes. The crust was thin and crispy and the sauce perfectly seasoned. For dessert my daughter had blueberry and passion fruit sorbet that she loved. I had the nocciolino, the best dessert I have every had. I love chocolate and hazelnuts and this dessert was incredible. So glad it was recommended!

Yelp
I'm oscillating between a 3 star and 4 star review. I went with a 4 star rating because of the few notable positives from the experience, but overall my feelings are lukewarm at best. For context, we went for lunch and it is quite possible the dinner experience is substantially different. Food: -- The food wasn't anything special in particular. I tried one of the eggplant antipasti, the truffle pizza, and the mediterranea. The eggplant antipasti was quite good, but I can buy something equivalent for a much cheaper price at a local grocery store -- so not convinced. The mediterranea was also good, but something I can prepare at home (not convinced it is worth the price it is). The truffle pizza however was quite good and I think well worth it. So, I guess my thoughts here are -- if you are dining at Nerano, order something that is sufficiently unique that you might not be able to buy for a cheaper price elsewhere or make at home. I think had I been hungrier I would have tried the truffle pasta (more context I am vegetarian so my options were limited). TL;DR based on my experiences: If you go for lunch, order one of the truffle menu items. That was 10/10 worth it. -- The dessert looked pretty good, but I didn't sample anything besides the espresso which was alright. My party members did seem pleased with their dessert selections. Affogato was a party favorite it seemed. Service: -- The service was pretty good in my opinion. We were a large group and the staff did a great job accommodating us. Our waiter was also really friendly and patient with us, especially as we stayed longer than the restaurant's lunch hours to have some dessert. -- What I didn't quite understand was why the backyard patio was not available during lunch. Not that I care too much, but a lot of the reviews here talk about a "cozy patio outdoor seating" situation. But we were seated out front in the street, not even really in an enclosed or patio-esque area. That did diminish the privacy / experience of "high-class" dining. Not a deal-breaker, but again the backyard patio would have been preferred. -- Parking is a hassle but they have a valet service. Overall: I wouldn't necessarily come here again unless it was for dinner (in case that experience is better). Do I think there's potential? Sure, but I wasn't particularly convinced this time around. Food was good, but not special enough that I think it warranted the price tag it carried. Once again, this was the lunch menu so it's possible the dinner menu is more wow-ing. The best way I can phrase it: if you dine at Nerano you are paying for the experience and not for the food; if experience is what you are looking for then it could be well worth it (for dinner more so than lunch).

Yelp
What an amazing place, so happy I decide to have dinner here. The food was fantastic, I ordered the Gnudi al Tartufo Nero! Desserts to die for, we ordered 3 of them and shared. Then went up to the BG for more drinks and had a great time. Loved the atmosphere. The staff was welcoming so I'm def coming back.

Yelp
Everything about this restaurant was delizioso. Chef Michele prepared the most amazing dishes for us, all of which were delicious. The appetizers were incredible and definitely set the high standard for the rest of the food items. Spoiled alert: everything consumed that night maintained that standard. For someone who does not care for truffle, the truffle pizza was fantastic, but personally, I favored the Margherita pizza. The sauce was so fresh and the crust was to die for. The pastas also tasted so fresh and each one varied from the next. Closing out with dessert: I really don't think you can get away with only choosing one dessert. Trying multiple would be my advice; I promise you will not be disappointed. Chef Michele as well as our waitress were so kind and accommodating and checked in with us often. Finally, the place was so relaxing and enjoyable that our group easily spent three hours there without noticing. You don't want to miss out on this amazing experience.

Yelp
Thursday night reservation for 7:00 pm--had to wait! Deafeningly noisy--had to yell to carry on a conversation! Service was slow/waited a long time for food. Chicken was dry. Sausage pasta was too salty. Food overall was ok, but not great! Not a pleasant dining experience. Maybe lunch or outside seating would be better?

Yelp
Amazing food, great chef, great service, if this restaurant doesn't deserve a 5 star review no where else does. Tables are nice and they have also an small patio for partying.

Yelp
Here's a tip... Do not come here underdressed. We did and it's highly embarrassing. I knew better I was raised better. Don't do it. I'm mortified. When the waiter is better dressed than you are it's a sign. I've been here two other times and the food is always outstanding the service is impeccable and the decor is elegant. The ambience is amazing. Did I mention do not come here underdressed. They have renovated the parking lot in the rear into a dining space with a tent and have done an excellent job of this. I would recommend this to anyone. It's one of my favorite places to go. I haven't been here in a while. Next time I will dress better.

Yelp
I had a pretty unusual situation here worthy of posting about. This was my second and last time at this place. The food was rather unremarkable both times but we previously enjoyed the patio vibe they created for COVID and decided to give it another shot. My main issue this time was with the service (both management and at the server). I've never experienced anything quite like it. So prior to placing our order I ask for the sommelier to help us with the wine selection. I'm informed that he's not available but the server says he's pleased to help us. Based on the meals ordered I acknowledged that I knew almost nothing about Italian wine but wanted to try whatever their Pinot Noir equivalent would be in Italy to pair with a white sauce pasta and fish entree. The waiter returned with a bottle of Barbera. I paused and responded that I thought Barbera was a fairly robust and heavy wine. He indicated it typically is but people are very happy with this particular bottle and proceeded to open it assuring us we would be happy but could "return it" if we weren't. While the wine was "fine" my partner and I both acknowledged that it would be too heavy for our meal. I repeated we were specifically interested in an Italian equivalent of Pinot Noir - a very light red. Does that even exist? The truth is I have no idea. I explained further that we're just starting to learn about wines so we were particularly interested in experimenting this evening with a "light Italian red." I again ask for the sommelier who I knew existed since we spoke with him my first time at the restaurant. The waiter now comes back with another "suggestion" but this time he offers us a a pre poured taste first. My partner and I both love it and say sure. So the waiter disappears and comes back with a bottle and as he presents it to the table I read the label and it's all in French - a Gamay. So I pause and slightly irritated ask, is this a French bottle? I guess I'm now the problem because I repeat: didn't I specifically request an Italian light red? Why are you bringing this French Gamay? Perhaps I'm overreacting but to me this seemed like me placing an order for salmon and the waiter shows up with a steak. When I point out that I ordered the salmon he says, oh, but everyone loves this steak, you should have the steak instead! To his credit, upon recognizing my irritation, rather than escalate he immediately offers to bring the manager. When I inform the manager of my frustration - trying to be polite and explain what transpired - he responds "well, how do we know you're going to like anything?" The truth is we won't. It's always amusing, however, (when getting patronized to your face) and by being lumped in with the typical trash who return something over something trivial. I'm angry because you aren't bringing me what I'm asking for. Maybe a light Italian red doesn't exist...well then TELL ME THAT IT DOESNT EXIST!!! Getting a snarky comment from the management who should be trying to resolve the issue or perhaps better train the waitstaff doesn't help. He informs us that the sommelier was out sick but would "call him" to get a suggestion. We wind up getting some awful bottle of Sicilian red (that I'm positive they up-charged us for). I insisted the manager try a glass when he came to follow up to see how we liked it. No, we didn't send it back...of course by the time we got the wine there was maybe two bites of food left on our respective plates. Needless to say the evening was a gastronomic disaster. One star for the truffle pizza appetizer that we paired with a bottle of Champagne. Another star for the bus staff who were actually very attentive and wonderful - they were only real pros we experienced that evening.

Yelp
Authentic food , stiff drinks, good service, what more could you want . We went during off season so the patio was closed but looks amazing, will be back for that
