Google
Brew Gentlemen. No flights, but you can do half pours of your choice or small samples. I selected the Monongaltor Doppelbock, which was excellent! Also had a taste of the Mr. Automatic Robust Porter, which was also quite good.

Google
Brew Gentleman has always been a solid spot. We hadn't made our way out there for a bit but decided to check it out again. We were pleasantly surprised to see they changed it around a bit from the previous layout, and they added some nice touches. They always have a nice line up of styles, and their flagship beer is on tap. There is a beer garden around the back of the building that is not connected that provides additional space when the weather is nice. Four packs available on site to go. No food on site, but there is a food truck sometimes.

Google
Great local beer, decent taproom. The location is a bit on the outskirts but, definitely worth a visit.

Google
Tried a few beers and mostly they were unique in a good way. The guys were friendly and chatted briefly about the beers they have. Can recommend the mammoth double IPA, oatmeal stout and the wheat beer with chai spice. I personally was not a fan of the Imperial stout 9

Google
Here’s the thing- I want to rate this much higher because there is good beer, but the taproom itself just seems cramped and the space seems not well utilized. We ended up getting there are just a right time and sat at a 4 top with Two people- others were soon invited to sit with us, however there were people leaning against the wall. They open your tab at the front so you can close on your way out but it actually seems to make the experience with the bartenders less personable.

Brew Gentlemen is like a home away from home. It's a smaller, more intimate brewery featuring a green and brown color scheme with brick, panelled walls, and green plants. It's kid and dog friendly, too, and they even have board games to enjoy while you sip on some brew. Speaking of the beer, it is top- notch in quality and among all of the breweries I visited when I was in Pittsburgh supporting my beer blog, Great Beer Now, I rated the beer here the highest of all. General Braddock's IPA was my favorite with Atomic Goat Double IPA ranking a close second. Everything was very tasty and I can say with certainty that if I lived in the area, I would become a regular fixture here. Brew Gentlemen is a comfortable place for beer and a great place to kick back and chat with friends or even total strangers. It's one of Pittsburgh's finest, and a place every beer lover should visit.

If you're into craft brews and visiting breweries just go. Brew Gentlemen does a very nice job on all their different styles, loved the atmosphere and cleanliness. They have a few different rooms for gueats with several types of seating including, a very comfortable couch. Service was excellent, and loved that they are so dog friendly. Highly recommended.

Google
Great experience, even during an event I just happened to discover Brew Gentlemen while doing a tourist drive to check out some Pittsburgh landmarks. I came in on one of their limited release days, where they were highlighting a special Barrel aged beer, which also happened to be during a busy day where Steelers fans were on location to enjoy the game. I had an opportunity to try a couple of their brews, and sample the local environment. The style beer I chose was a NEIPA, which they call an “American IPA” in their taproom. Beers had a quality mouth feel and amazing citrus notes that are lacking in many attempts for this style of beer. While the taproom was small and extremely busy when I went, the customers were super polite, and the staff was both efficient and friendly with their pours. Only complaint I have is lack of bar seating (standing room only) but perhaps it was due to the event that they didn’t offer seating at the bar.

Yelp
We've been to Brew Gentlemen many times-today we went for the DoubleMex 2024 release. They were hosting a bottle share and had a vertical tasting of the 2022, 2023, and 2024 versions which was cool for the special event. I always love their cozy and historic taproom. They incorporate a lot of historic Braddock art on the walls which is a nice touch. There is plenty of seating in the main taproom and the side room. The beers are always good at this spot. My favorites from them are the General Braddock's, Garden Party, and DoubleMex. They have a parking lot and plenty of street parking. Their sister restaurant, Braddock Public House, is right down the street.

Yelp
Brew Gentlemen is top notch. They always have great beer, great selection and fair prices. I wish the venue was closer to me however. I've never had a bad experience at Brew Gentlemen. They make great stouts and IPA's.

Yelp
This is a very unique and cool place. They brew all their own beers. You can order a beer in a small glass, so that you can sample lots of different ones. I think 8oz. The beer menu is varied and there's something for everyone. I just spent some time, chatted with the bartender, Isaiah? Ezikeil? Can't remember his name. Guy from Ohio. He was nice. It feels good to support a local business, and in an area that is clearly trying to get nicer. I really wanted to meet the owners, as I was visiting from out of town, but it wasn't meant to be. If you are looking for a unique place to try some beers brewed by a small, local business, check out Brew Gentleman.

Yelp
About 5 years passed between my first and most recent visit here, and I was happy with the selection and variety this time. Their flagship, General Braddock's is a classic American IPA that's crisp and hoppy. White Sky is a tasty wheat with chai-creative for sure! Mexican Coffee Stout is good, but my favorite was The Trees, brewed with spruce tips. Staff was friendly and informative about the brewery's history and vision. If you're visiting PGH, stop by.

Yelp
good service. Line gets a bit long at times. newly remodeled sitting area. Sangria on tap available. Various pours of their own beers to taste, drink or take to go. Viewing area of brewery also a neat idea. Laid back atmosphere. Lots of table games to try as well.

Yelp
Food truck service in the event space (outback in a separate fenced area) Many bathrooms so you're not hanging out waiting Many varieties from IPA, wheats to stouts (even barrel aged) The staff is friendly, pricing is amazing and hopefully they offer military, police and fire support =] Nestled on a quiet street that has free parking areas. Small businesses and just a small town vibe. This is one of the best micro brews that I've experienced get on the east coast region. Many varieties, Fowlers and Growlers both a available and a space to lunge, talk, hangout, go outside, literally so many spaces for any type of person.

Yelp
One of my favorite local breweries in Pittsburgh. BG has an immaculate upscale location and always has an excellent selection of beers available for onsite consumption and to-go. If you are in Pittsburgh and can only visit a few of the many breweries in the city, make sure this spot is at the top of your list.

Yelp
Great looking, fun taproom. Now with a beer garden as well. Good, solid beers. I have been to Brew Gentlemen in the past, but not for a while. I literally live about five minutes away and just don't find myself going here often. We met some friends on Saturday for some drinks. It was pretty crowded when we got there, then cleared out for a bit and started to get busier. They had food trucks parked out front so we were able to get something to eat as well. I had been hoping to try V, their anniversary imperial porter. It had been listed on the website still the day before but it was out before we got there. I'm definitely a dark beer drinker so really didn't have any of my preferred styles. The tap list does tend to run IPA heavy. Their dark beers are delicious, I just wish they had more of them. I just had a few beers that night. I had White Sky, a Chai wheat beer which I have had before. It is always enjoyable. The Chai spices give this beer a unique taste without being overpowering. It's an easy drinking beer, which I could drink all day. Since I wanted to try something new I also tried the Maibock. It was good, but probably not something I would drink more than one of. It just isn't a style I would gravitate towards. I took a peek at the beer garden before leaving. The bartender had told us you can keep your tab open to go between the two. Personally I stayed inside (which they had open with the nice weather). The beer garden is plastic cups and I just have a thing with drinking my beer out of a real glass. I love that there is such a great brewery so close to me. I wish I had the opportunity to try more dark beers. I will keep an eye out on Facebook for beer releases and hopefully make it down there for some.

Yelp
Pittsburgh and surrounding areas have so many breweries and pubs popping up these days that it can be hard to keep up or know which are good and which are just ok. Brew Gentlemen is one of my most favorite breweries. They always put out a stellar product. I've not once been disappointed or had something that I thought was mediocre. They consistently create delicious craft beers that rival any other brewer in the country. I don't get over here as often as I'd like so when I do it's like Christmas for me. If you have friends/family visiting from outside of the area this is a great place to showcase what the region has to offer in terms of solid, delicious and creative beers. In addition it's just a fun place it hang out. The space is very industrial/rustic which I absolutely love. It's not as big as some of the newer breweries popping up but I like the cozy layout. Even when it's packed it's easy to move from the restaurant style seating area to bar or the back room near the bathrooms and actual brewing room. Show Braddock and the folks at Brew Gentlemen some love with a visit!

Yelp
The signature IPA is fantastic! The owners are gracious and inviting and eager to discuss the brewing process. The ambiance is relaxing and exciting at the same time! Definitely a must visit brewery!

Yelp
So it took me a few years to return to the Brew Gentleman but it is just as good as I remember it to be, perhaps even better. The first time we came here was for a Yelp event and we enjoyed their beer. The main issue in returning was we just don't get to Braddock often. This visit was not planned. We initially planned to go eat at a local Thai restaurant and stop at a local watering hole on the way home. However, fate had other plans for us. The restaurant turned out to be under construction AKA in a temporary location with no seating permit. We decided to still order and just wait for takeout. During the 15-20 minute wait it dawned on us what better place to take our takeout than to a brewery! Thus Brew Gentleman was our next stop. The brewery itself is rather large and would accommodate big parties easily. There are 4 distinct rooms. One huge area off to the left when you walk in that was full of tables and chairs but no patrons that evening. The main room you enter from the street which was well populated, and to the right is the bar and several high tops and bar stools. Over by the restrooms there is another room that has a couch and some more casual seating. We got in line at the bar and ordered our first round of drinks. Now they don't offer samples which I am not a fan of. I'm usually pretty good with all IPA's but some are better than others. They do however offer several sizes. I ended up trying three different IPA's and enjoyed all of them. The double IPA, Godzilla Glue, was by far my favorite. That's unusual since doubles are usually a tad too much but it was perfect. I'm very glad we had a chance to return after all this time. Really good beers and these guys were really at the forefront of the Pittsburgh brewery and Craft beer movement. I'm glad to see them doing so well.

Yelp
Great beers! I'm a big IPA fan, so this was the place for me. Very cozy and local vibe, everyone feels welcome.

Yelp
My go to spot for beer in the Pittsburgh area along with Dancing gnome. City is a little rough around there but inside is beer heaven. Ample seating and dog friendly. While indulging on their delicious beers (recommend their DIPAs), there is a wide variety of board games you can play. They do have small pours where you can try more of a variety what they have on tap. On weekends there is usually food trucks that pull up next to the brewery. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Last time I went they limited growler fills to 6pp but will let you use any other brewery flip top. Will be going here again and again.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at Brew G. It was well run, well designed and offered deliciously brewed onsite beers. Food is offered thru food truck partnerships. The night I was there, Blowfish BBQ served a mean brisket with a great selection of bbq sauces and a wonderful Mac and cheese that made me extra happy. I would definitely go back to this very cool Pittsburgh brewery. It's in Braddock on a somewhat lonely street, so it's a destination location for sure. I left with a 750m bottle of their popular General Braddock IPA, which taste less obnoxious than most IPAs I've had, to share with my husband who doesn't love most IPAs. I can't wait to hear his review, but I liked it very much. I bought the refillable bottle for $5 and the brew fill for an add'l $9. Found out during the brewery tour, they serve at my South Side neighborhood Piper's Pub, so, I'll be looking to order the Gen B from there as well.

Yelp
This is a great craft brewery and taproom in Braddock! The storefront is very easy to find and has a good amount of space inside and they recently opened an outside seating area. No food except for food trucks hosted outside. There is always a good variety of beers on tap; usually about a dozen. They also always have a seasonal brew and a few classics; mostly IPA. The general braddocks IPA was my favorite! Their classic craft beer and really great; not too bitter like many IPAs. I look forward to seeing the new beers they come up with! Tip: to get to the outside area go around the right side of the parking lot and you will find the path around the back of the building.

Yelp
Super awesome spot - I came here for a Yelp sponsored event and was blown away at the hospitality. Afterward we went up to the main Brewery space and enjoyed a few of their beers which were all super great. I have to add that the space is really awesome for large groups, and those of you with a dog. They even allow dogs indoors! The tour beforehand highlighted the ownership - and the ideas for the brewery, I must say that I can't wait to come back! Highly impressive space!

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere, great beer, and wonderful people. We grabbed some burritos at brassero grill down the block, which is bomb, and hung out at brew gentlemen. A+, Pittsburgh gem.

Yelp
I'll admit I only heard about this place through the documentary ("Blood, Sweat and Beer" for those not in the know); however I was disappointed to find that while it is located in PA, it's on the other side of the state from where I live. So, in short, this brewery inspired me to take a little road trip. I'm quite glad I did make the trip, and also quite glad that the beer here is top notch. Sure, Braddock is definitely not the most happening place, but this brewery seems to be the center of town and was packed to the gills when I was there. It's no surprise; the beers are delicious. Their White Sky is an extremely unique brew, one I could easily drink all day. It's a Chai Wheat Ale, and while it's spicy it's also very subtle. It's a complicated brew that is very smooth, and every sniff will leave you with a different impression. I didn't get a growler but wish I had! Their saison is also decent, being true to form with a crisp spiciness in every sip. On top of great beer, this place has a lot of heart. It takes guts to open a new business in a struggling town. Honestly I think this brewery will be here for a long time to come, and hopefully I will get to try more of their brews in the future.

Yelp
I visited Brew Gentlemen during a Yelp event, and all I can say is, "I can't believe I haven't been here yet!" This is a wonderful brewery with creative, diverse, and delicious beers of all kinds! They rotate their menu seasonally, and the owners are very creative and tactical in creating new recipes. When it comes to the food, I was blown away by the meat and BBQ sauce. It was juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. Another charming feature of Brew Gentlemen are the gentlemen who started the company! While they had humble beginning, the company is looking to expand. Their current location has indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor area as well. I can only see good things for the future of Brew Gentlemen and and I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Friends and I dropped in amidst a morning bike ride, and it was definitely a well-received respite before finishing our trip. Super clean inside, a bit on the smaller side but wasn't too crowded when we went (it was a Sunday morning..) I love that it is animal friendly - I pretty much went up to everyone's dogs and gave them big hugs (so the patrons are nice too!) Not a super large selection of beers but they have a good mix so something for everybody. Food truck(s) outside with mediterranean food. When we went they had a large wing of their interior under development. They were nice enough to let us put our bikes there while we drank our morning away. Overall, a nice very comfortable and pleasant brewery to hang out with a small group of friends. Would 100% revisit to steal dogs I mean play with them with good company and beverages!

Yelp
Imagine it is Election Day 2022, and you are terrified that the results just might change life as you know it. Your partner and you have both started your second career in nursing, working opposing night and day shifts. You have three children. One of them has just been diagnosed with a severe asthma exacerbation, requiring countless nights of medication and support to survive. Your favorite brewery since relocating to the state from a grueling nursing education at in a dense urban area releases some amazing beer that you cannot afford to order. You cancel an order placed hastily, just so you can afford the prescription medication bill. Three days later, you receive an email from UPS that a package from Brew Gentlemen is out for delivery. These fantastic individuals sent your order, even though you had to cancel it, without charge, so that you could enjoy their world-class product while taking care of your family and the community. There simply is no other brewery for me. I am amazed, and want every person on this planet (and beyond) to support the most incredible, community-focused small business I have come to know. Thank you.

Yelp
A wonderful addition to the local Craft Brew scene. You will find creative beers brewed with skilled expertise. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I was hoping to try more dark beers, but I will have to make a trip again in Fall or Winter. I love the ambiance and decor. This place is a gem. They have their own parking lot. There are an outrageous number of beers to try. You can buy a growler to take some home with you. I took the tour, and I highly recommend you do that is well, because the more you know about how their beers are made, the more you will want to drink them.

Yelp
The forest brewery I made it to in Pittsburgh and the thing that stuck out the most is the pens that you sign the bill with. On the wall they even have them for sale as "the pens you love" or something along that line. As for the beer, it is great. I love their dark beer, Mr. Automatic. I did notice a lot of people getting Shoshin though. We went on a Thursday evening and the parking lot was full. Luckily we found a spot because someone else was just leaving, but be aware there may not be anything available. When we walked in, it was packed. There were no seats available so we had to stand for awhile until some room at the bar became available. Kids are allowed inside so don't be surprised if you see some families. Dogs are also welcome, which is awesome!
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Well worth the trip. Outstanding beers, usually a nice selection of styles. General Braddock is the flagship beer and is very good. The only downside is it's out of the way being out in Braddock, but this usually means it's not too crowded. Food trucks on most days. Dogs are allowed (ugh). Clean interior/bathrooms.
google avatar

Yelp
How have I not reviewed Brew Gentlemen??? I've been here many times as its not far from my house. Love this brewery! I have never had a beer I didn't like there. They almost always have a food truck available and you can't beat the new outdoor area. Kids are definitely welcome. I will be back again and again. Best beer is the Garden Party!
google avatar

Sunni M.

Yelp
I'm not a drinker, but I absolutely loved this place. We non-drinkers are often an afterthought a brew pubs. Thirsty, hungry, bored... Not the case here! I was so excited! We visited BG to watch the game after an anniversary party the previous night. The decor in BG is beautiful. Industrial with lots of reclaimed wood to soften it up. Two large private restrooms are gender assigned, but as long as they're empty, no one seemed to mind if you went in. Wide paths make it easy to maneuver in a wheelchair once you get inside. The space is a brew pub, but also a community gathering spot. They host yoga, parties...they even allow "cool" dogs and kids. One large mega screen was plenty to watch the football game. They don't serve food, but have a regular schedule of food trucks sitting outside. There's also a convenience store a few doors down if you really need something. Definitely a jewel in this neighborhood renaissance.
google avatar

Christopher F.

Yelp
This place is great. First, I love the decor and ambiance. They blended an old building with newer fixtures in an excellent manner. Five stars for ambiance. The servers are helpful and know their stuff. If you are hungry, food trucks may be parked out front. There are board games should you get bored. Now for the beers. I am a IPA fan and the brew did not disappoint. Their Legendary Weapons (American IPA) was smooth and tasty. Certified Public Accountant did not disappoint. Five stars for the beer. The only negative is that there is not much else around this place. Do not plan on coming here and then walking to another establishment. That being said, it is well worth the drive!
google avatar

Tara B.

Yelp
The beers are loved by beer enthusiasts who seek out the best beers around. Last night I discovered hard cider offered in the tap room. This is great for those of us who don't like beer but enjoy the atmosphere of a brewery and the company of beer lovers. I've visited here many times and miss the food truck round up!
google avatar

Yelp
A little out of the way - but worth the effort ! Dog friendly, rotating line up of food trucks, and awRd winning brews !
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! What a cool place to gather for those who love beer, foodies and friends. You can find them all here at Brew Gentlemen. There is typically a different food truck everyday to compliment your beverage of choice. Today's choice was a cucumber beer that is a seasonal special that I can't stop raving about. Drop by and grab one of these refreshing brews while they are still available. Pub c

Yelp
Fantastic beer with cool vibe and super friendly staff. Best beers in Pittsburgh and they are always rotating. Wide beer variety and lots of great IPA's. Don't miss this brewery paradise!

Yelp
Great beers and the inside is nice. Staff was very friendly. The parking is pretty much on the street. It was worth the drive out here, even if it is not in the best part of town.

Yelp
My first couple Brew Gentlemen experiences were just OK, but after a long absence, I really enjoyed returning to check it out again. What really drew us to the brewery last night was the presence of Gaucho Parrilla Argentina's food truck called Asado. The food was incredible and did not disappoint. In addition to chowing down on some Argentinian food, the hubby and I drank a couple beers. I would have never ordered his General Braddock's IPA. Generally, IPAs taste like perfume to me, but this American Pale Ale is very mild and actually quite delicious, even to a wheat beer lover like myself. I personally ordered the White Sky, a Chai spiced wheat beer. I had always wanted to try this beer during my couple previous visits and was excited that it was finally on tap. I really loved the tea spice combined with a mellow, sweet beer, but my husband personally thought the beer was a bit heavy. The food and beer delivered, but the space itself did not. Though attractively decorated, the layout of the brewery is a bit tricky. The line to order at the bar literally snaked to the front door, which was particularly frustrating since there was an additional unused bar in the other part of the venue. Every available seat was also taken by a patron, and more chairs and barstools could have been added to make guests more comfortable.

Yelp
I live this hometown cubby...it OVERLY FAMILY FRIENDLY which is fine... the price is right, the product is local and the quality is niiiiice!!! I have to reference this place as an experience because there are a variety of Pittsburgh's finest food trucks that post up right outside. Tonight it's Blue sparrow Pgh...(I will review my menu selection also). All in all it's and ideal night out with the family including the dog, not to mention they rep my neighborhood well 15104 check it out!#TerriBerriez

Yelp
Fantastic first visit yesterday. Easy to spot with plenty of parking. Space is much larger than I was anticipating. I believe they have expanded within the past year, which makes sense. Plenty of tables in a few separate areas. You have the large room with the enormous projection TV for sporting events (a small back bar too, not open on this slow Sunday), another large room right as you walk in, another high top section in the main bar area, and then a couple places tucked near the brewing operations and restrooms. Love that the bartender was all dressed up in black tie fashion. Very classy and fit perfectly with his impeccable service. Offering different size pours, once can try a few of them no problem, without getting out of hand. 750ml and 64oz. growlers available to go for most if not all of the beers. $5 charge for eight size glassware if you did not bring something along to be filled. Since this is Braddock, it was not very busy at all on this Sunday, but I am sure most who know the beer scene, flock here for releases and larger events. I sure would, if I was a local. Well done, BG.

Yelp
For my birthday this year, the husband surprised me with a Pittsburgh beer weekend and something I've grown to love, beer yoga. After seeing a screening of "Blood, sweat, and beer", my husband and I made a note to visit the Brew Gentlemen if we ever made it to Pittsburgh, so when he saw that they did beer yoga he planned an entire weekend around it. They have a great space. Love the reclaimed wood, and the second bar area/event space. The yoga practice and instructor were lovely. You really can't go wrong with an all levels practice, IMO. The staff was nice enough to let my husband hang out at the main bar too even though they weren't technically open yet. We had tried their White Sky at the movie screening, and it still remains one of the only wheat beers I would drink over and over. We also shared a taster of everything else they had on at the time. Some standouts for me were the Mammoth DIPA and their Momo Pale Ale (so smooth). I wish we had visited when their Mexican Coffee had been on, it sounds delightful. Love this place, can't wait to return. Kudos, gents.

Yelp
Friendly, clean and all round very pleasant venue with a great beer selection. The beers tend towards the IPA, but they do them well. I particularly liked the General Braddock's IPA which I came away with a growler of. They don't do food in house, but do have a regular rotation of food trucks which park up outside, a schedule of which can be found on their website.

Yelp
So impressed. Beyond impressed. Beyond in love with this place. I'll say it over and over again. I really appreciate when business owners put the time and thought, not only into their product, but also their aesthetic. The place is gorgeous! All wood and brick, it has a rustic, yet cozy feel. They have so much space, it's exciting to think about what will be possible here. But onto the beers... They are delicious! It's rare that I try all the beers on tap and like them... ALL! But I do! I first feel in love with their White Sky, which is a Chai beer. Yep, you heard me right, CHAI BEER! If yinz know me, you know I love my chai tea, so this is perfect for me. They even make their own chai spice blend to put into the beer. Totally impressive! I also really liked the Build and Destroy wheat stout and the Business Casual red ale. These dudes are young, but smart, and I'm so excited to see what they'll be up to. Plus, I'm excited to drink all the beer. That is all.

Yelp
Even when crowded with hipsters, The Brew Gentlemen is 5 stars. The space is amazing. There's different rooms with different vibes for whatever you're feeling. There's the bar room where people patiently wait in line for their next beer. There's the main room when you first walk in with various tables and built in shelves on one wall where you can set down your beer while you're standing around just chillaxin' with friends. Then there's the annex with a couch and a few tables where one can enjoy a movie or game. The Brew Gentlemen are all about giving back to the community, too. I was lucky enough to be in attendance at their Hitchcock Halloween party at Carrie Furnace in 2014. I've been around for a couple food truck roundups. On one of my more recent visits I enjoyed a Lou, an ale for ALS. I have a lovely Brew Gentlemen t-shirt courtesy of their pay-what-you want event they had to unload older merchandise (including glasses and clothing items). In addition to just being an all around cool business, they make some outstanding beer as well. Of their flagship beers, the White Sky (a chai wheat) is a favorite among many. The tap selection rotates through various sessions and saisons and I like to try one or two of their test beers to see where things are headed. I get very excited every summer with the arrival of Garden Party (a refreshing cucumber wheat) and every winter with the arrival of Mexican Coffee (oatmeal stout). While writing this review, I just happen to notice that my BG growler is empty. Looks like I have some business to attend to. Gentlemen? Get your taps ready.

Yelp
I like to fancy myself a well-traveled Pittsburgher so I'm embarrassed to admit that I just made my first trip to Brew Gentlemen. But, I made it, and now I'll be back, all-the-time. Located in the heart of Braddock the Brew Gentlemen have made a stake in the continued rebuilding of Braddock. This hip spot has a decent area for both medium and small groups and it lends itself to a neighborhood bar. I love that people can sit with their friends, and their dog, while enjoying great beer, and food from the food truck anchored outside. I noticed a mix of locals and others, and we actually hosted our friends from San Diego, relaxing happily. The Shoshin Summer IPA was so good I had two. But hey, I wasn't driving, so it was ok to throw back a couple 6.2 percenters on a nice summer evening.

Yelp
This place was really cool. It's a cozy, rustic atmosphere with lots of parking and a great beer selection. We live about 30 mins away, so we've been planning this trip for a while- and we weren't disappointed. It was crowded, but there was ample seating and attentive and friendly bartenders. There was a food truck outside- and while we had already eaten, the couple next to us got some gyros and MAN OH MAN did they look tasty. The bartenders have theme-y apparel. White shirts, ties, true "gentlemen". And the beers were all great. I appreciate that they had lots of "trendy" hazy IPAs - but still had a nice selection of styles that were also great. I wish I knew more about the area and other things to do so we could make a night of going all the way out there!

Yelp
What a great space! Who knew you could find something like this in Braddock? Well, it is so worth the drive to check it out! First off, the building was a former electrical supply shop and now has moved on to a higher purpose. These three guys have done wonders in transforming it into a warm and comfortable space where they can brew and serve you some of their delicious and imaginative beers! Cucumber? Maple? Chai? Yep, if you are adventurous. They love to experiment! But not to worry, the standards like a tasty IPA, a smooth double IPA, and a terrific bitter are there as well. They've done a lot of the work to transform this place by themselves. The reclaimed wood covering two walls in the tap room create such a warm atmosphere! Not to mention the row of taps waiting to be sampled. They take great pride in their brews as well they should! Do yourself a favor and try them out. They are in limited keg distribution so you may not find them at your local bar just yet. But I have a feeling they will show up soon. Another great and welcome addition to the growing Pittsburgh craft beer scene. We are lucky to have them! Drink up my friends, drink up!

Yelp
Wow! This establishment is quality and on the forefront of a regentrication effort in Braddock! Great atmosphere, service, and wide beer selection! Sometimes, you can grab quality (so I hear) gyros, etc. at food trucks just outside. There are multiple areas to hang out including the bar, if its a little crowded. The bathrooms are clean and on the way back, you can peek at at the brewing silos in a separate room. This, along with the original ceilings and bricks compliment the industrial blue collar feel of Braddock, USA. I grew up in Swissvale (1980s-2001)...Please support this place and any other good intentioned entrepreneurs bringing life back to this great town!

Yelp
Unless you've been living under a rock, you may have noticed that the East End of Pittsburgh is becoming an increasingly popular area for serious beer connoisseurs. Beer distributors and restaurants in the area are carrying small-batch, locally produced brew. The producers of these small-batch beers take their craft seriously; many of them see their beer-production as an art. These smaller breweries are able to create delicious concoctions using a myriad of spices, and modified brewing techniques. Asa Foster, a CMU graduated along with Matt Katase (both 22 years old) have started Brew Gentlemen Beer Company. Their new business is located at 800 Braddock Avenue, in Braddock, PA. I had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Foster recently- he greeted me outside the brewery with a smile on his face. "Here it is," he said, walking me underneath a large vacant building on the main street. The space was large and sparse. Asa had set up a makeshift work area complete with a computer desk and a small area to experiment and perfect their original beer recipes. Also stacked inside were large wood pallets along with tools, and a large fan that was helping dry the floor from water that had leaked from a rain the night before. "It doesn't look like much now, but this building has good bones." I had to agree. Asa showed me upstairs to a large, unoccupied space. "This is where Kevin Sousa's new restaurant is going to be," he explained. "Your brewery is going to be underneath one of the new, premier restaurants in the city of Pittsburgh?" Asa smiled a bit, and I could tell what he was thinking. Overflow from the restaurant, or patrons from the new eatery would surely find their way to The Brew Gentlemen Beer Company; this was a golden opportunity as far as location was concerned. The Brew... Mr. Foster showed me to a fridge in his brew-area. "Care to sample some? This is our White Sky Chai Spiced Ale." My mouth was watering as he poured me a glass. The beer had a beautiful amber color, and didn't have a hint of cloudiness- impressive. As I took a sip my taste-buds came alive. The flavors were pronounced, but not overwhelming. I could taste soft notes of cinnamon, nutmeg... The finish was equally satisfying- crisp and effervescent. Asa watched me closely as I devoured the brew- he knew I was going to like it. Asa has a long-term plan. He's done extensive research on Braddock, and believes the neighborhood revitalization projects will bring additional businesses, and more importantly, thirsty customers to the area. I'm glad I had a chance to visit The Brew Gentlemen Beer Company. At some point in the future when they're enjoying great success and accolades, I'll be able to say, "I remember when these guys were first starting out..."

Yelp
Before I start my review, I just want to say how awesome it is that Braddock is building it's way up! While driving on the main street, I saw so many new developments and buildings that were stunning. Hopefully this brewery will pave the way for more businesses to see the potential of the location and help liven the town up! On to the brewery... five stars! I'm not much of a beer connoisseur so I really just try everything to see what I like. I love that the staff explain everything fully to you and really try to find you something you'll like. My favorite beer of the night was the cucumber flavor. It sounds weird, but oh so good! It was refreshing, light and still allowed me to get a nice little buzz (wink wink). My boyfriend enjoyed the darker beers. The place itself is beautiful. It's rustic, yet still homey and comfortable. Their lounge area is pleasant and I'm obsessed with the dimly lit bar area with the coolest light bulb chandelier I've ever seen. I want one! It's great seeing this in Braddock and I want to give a huge BRAVO to the staff and owners. For being so young, you all do a great job. You're business savvy, smart and aren't afraid to take risks. Us Millennials representing!

Yelp
as soon as i heard this was opening i was super excited... But would it live up to my hyped expectations? Yes, yes and yes! Went in on opening night and it was packed! The feel of the place was sophisticated, yet modern. I could see just sitting in the fire an hour or more just sipping on a beer while relaxing. The beer... I only had two. The "white sky" which is a Chai wheat beer. I absolutely LOVED it. Such great flavor and so refreshing. I picked up a growler of it to take home! Perfect beer for the season! I also had the "build and destroy" wheat stout. I love stouts and i loved this one... So much that it is now one of my absolute favorites. My next growler will be that! I cannot wait to go back in and try the rest of the beers! The "gentlemen" that opened it really know what they are doing, and i hope they have nothing but success!

Yelp
The layout sucks BUT Heavy on the IPAs So it worked for me* *I was recommended here multiple times and it wasn't terribly delicious, exciting or cool so it let me down a bit

Yelp
Visited BG while in the area. The General Braddock is good; in my opinion not "exceptional", but a tasty and well brewed example of the style. Hoppy taste, creamy mouthfeel, nice hazy appearance, but low on aroma an floral notes. The more IPAs I tried here, the more they started tasting the same. Maybe my palate isn't very discriminating, but the IPAs simply presented and tasted the same. Not really impressed. If BG was my neighborhood beer haunt, I would probably love spending time here. Visiting as an "out of towner", it just doesn't live up to the internet beer hype. Not trying to be a hater, but Pittsburgh needs more options IMO.

Yelp
LOVE IT! Both times I've been to Brew Gentlemen they had a great selection of beers... seriously, I'd say something for everyone. Being local, I love that they have their beers and a few extras on tap for lots of tasting. We did the tasters of almost everything on tap last time we were there, so we could decide what everyone liked for themselves. The atmosphere is awesome -- everyone is very laid back and friendly. Beyond the beer they do a great job getting food trucks outside, which makes for a fantastic way to support local businesses and eat / drink delicousness!
