Where To Get Indian Delivery & Takeout In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Usually, to eat at Bhatti in Murray Hill, you have to make a reservation or get there early. But right now all you have to do is stare at some pictures online until you decide what you’d like to gorge yourself on for lunch, dinner, and breakfast for the next 20 ish hours. We like the kebabs (it’s their specialty), so order a few of those." - Hannah Albertine

Bhatti Indian Grill Review - Murray Hill - New York - The Infatuation

"Bhatti is a nice Indian restaurant in Murray Hill that gets crazy busy, so make a reservation, get there on time, and go heavy on the kebabs (their specialty). But most importantly, bring some wine. This spot is BYOB, and you can have an ideal affordable date here by filling your table with dal, spicy meats, naan, and whatever wine you decide to bring along." - Arden Shore

Google
Best Indian food in NYC! We ordered Chana masala and paneer bhurjee, and they both were delicious! The only thing I didn’t like about it is they don’t give free rice along with curry, which is like the norm in US.

Google
This place I can definitely go eat again. Everything tasted great. The appetizers were very pricey for the tiny portions but tasted good. The Bhatti Daal was amazing.

Google
Loved the food . We ordered vegetarian food , dal makhani , roti , rice , paneer tikka masala and rasmalai . Met our expectations with service and food

We had a reservation at another spot nearby, but seeing Bhatti Indian Cuisine buzzing with energy on Diwali weekend, we decided to give it a try just five minutes before the kitchen closed—and luckily, we got a table! We ordered quickly without much thought, and every dish turned out to be incredible. From the paneer and galouti kebabs to the biryani, raita, and tandoori roti, everything was exceptional. Easily the best Indian food we’ve had in NYC!.. our phones were dead after a long day , couldn’t take food pictures 😞

Google
Amazing indian food in Murray Hill, they have all the classics you want with amazing flavors. Love the chicken tikka masala!

Zeba Darvesh

Google
We enjoyed their vegetarian dishes more than the non-vegetarian ones to be honest. The paneer rikka was really tasty. The dal tadka and veg biryani was flavourful. The butter chicken was decent. I would not recommend their chicken biryani.

We came here twice on our trip when we craved Indian food and this always hits it out of the park. We tried 5 dishes and they were all incredible. Our fave would be the mixed veg but as you can see from the pictures it all looks amazing. You can’t go wrong here so I would definitely give it a go for authentic and delicious Indian food.

Google
Mediocre Food: The server don't know what they are serving. when asked, they provide inaccurate details about the item on the menu you are trying to order. Service: Bad Attitude towards the basic service they need to provide like taking away the used plates, responding to special request et. all. Comfort: The tables are wobbly and are not stable.

Yelp
Ordered takeout on Sunday from here. For the 3 of us, we got 2 paneer tikka masalas, 1 daal Bhatti, garlic naan, and rice. It was A LOT of food--we had half of the paneer and almost all of the daal leftover! The paneer was creamy and flavorful, with a hint of sweetness. I didn't mind the sweetness, but I do wish it had been a bit spicier. The paneer itself wasn't the softest, but it wasn't rubbery or chewy either, so it worked! I was pleasantly surprised by the daal Bhatti! No wonder it's the titular dish--it was rich, creamy, and super flavorful. The garlic naan tasted exactly like the frozen one sold at Trader Joe's though. Overall, the meal was hearty, and comforting!

Yelp
This place blew our minds. Hands down, the BEST Chicken Masala I've ever had--rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor like it was made by culinary wizards. The naan was perfectly soft with just the right crisp on the edges. Everyone at the table was completely swept away, like we just got teleported to flavor heaven. If you're on the fence, trust me--run, don't walk. This spot is something special.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous North Indian cuisine. No paper menus, just the QR code for their online menu, so you can choose in advance. Rohan Josh was delicious. So was the garlic naan (we got an extra order just to take back to the hotel). Friendly service. Small space but they didn't rush us to get out.

Yelp
Finally tried this much talked about indian place ! Glad both me and my friend were starving and were so ready to order and get started! We arrived at 5:30pm without any reservations and were the only one there for the next 15 min but soon it started getting super busy. Benarasi chaat - great start!! Unlike typical chaats, the tamarind chutney wasn't sweet and savory, it was hardly sweet. Not a complaint but it was different than what I was expecting. Great nevertheless! Rajma kebab- loved these! Soft and tender , slightly garnished with beetroot and some chutneys. Bhatti special daal - as expected, it was creamy and full of texture!! I would not say it was the best one but surely a great taste! Mixed vegetables- surprisingly, I loved this one the most! None of the dishes were super spicy but mild and flavorful! I'm so happy I finally tried this place!
google avatar

Shirin B.

Yelp
The meats here are fantastic! Ordered saag paneer and chicken biryani and both were delicious. The chicken here was moist and flavorful. Definitely come here for their "grill" items like their tandoori meats but the other curries you can find at other Indian restaurants. Great spot in Murray Hill!

Daniel K.

Yelp
Half vegetarians- we got the stuffed mushroom, achari paneer, and the red bean patty for appetizers. Loved the first two, very unique and delicious. Bhagan bharta eggplant spicy which was amazing. The palak paneer and paneer tikka masala which were both good. The dal was okay but my husband liked it a lot. Also the vegetarian biryani was amazing. I never like it and it just tasted like Indian fried rice. The service was fine, no complaints. I've had Indian food many times and it was good. It didn't come with rice which was a complaint but otherwise the food self is always so good.

Yelp
This place was solid! Came here with a few friends and ordered a few dishes to share. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the ambience is quite nice. I'm giving this 4 stars because it was nothing to write home about, but it was still good! The cauliflower is the best dish that we got.
google avatar

Melanie D.

Yelp
Great spot! The chicken korma was fabulous- be sure to try the lemon rice! Very reasonable prices.
google avatar

Christophe G.

Yelp
The flavors here make you forget everything else. The employees performed exceptionally well. The kitchen experiments with delicious results. Tasty meals, fair costs and employees who really know their job. Employees were friendly, dishes were excellent.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Ordered from here for lunch because I saw that they had a lunch special which came with 2 main dishes, dal, rice, and naan for less than $20. It sounded like a good deal online, but when it came it was even more food than I imagined it would be. This food fed me for 3 meals and easily could have fed me for a 4th meal. The food was also so tasty--saag paneer is one of my favorite dishes and this one did not disappoint at all! The food was delivered pretty fast and it was all hot and well packaged. I cannot say anything about the service of the restaurant since I ordered delivery online, but I would definitely go in person at some point in time. Overall a great spot for Indian food with great portions!
google avatar

Chandni D.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday evening with a reservation and were seated immediately. It's a pretty small place so if you want indoor seating, I would definitely recommend making a reservation. Here's what we got: Chili Gobi - really good! Not as spicy as you would think but has a decent kick! I was a really unique flavor I would say and was pretty good Saag Paneer - really yummy! Not usually a big fan of saag but this was really good, would recommend! Malai Kofta - this I would pass on. The gravy was decent but definitely on the sweeter side. I wasn't a big fan of the kofta, was kind of bland and just sweet. Overall, this is a decent place to get indian food. Nothing out of this world but definitely will satisfy your indian food craving!
google avatar

Payal P.

Yelp
Loved it!! We went for a work lunch and it was really nice and straightforward to order. They bought us one of each protein (fish, lamb, chicken, paneer) so they bring you one appetizer of each and one of each entree and everything was delicious! Super simple and tasty, def recommend

Yelp
The food was AMAZING! Been here 4-5 times and never been disappointed. Every single dish was fantastic! Highly recommend!

Yelp
ONE OF THE BEST INDIAN FOODS IN NYC !!!! The paneer is so so good !!! The service in outstanding, the place is a big tiny. But other then that, amazing !!! I took my international friends here, they were in love !!

Yelp
Food 4/5 Quality Indian food that will satisfy you and fill your stomach. We ordered the malai kofta and mushroom muttar -- both were good, but nothing mind blowing. It was very flavorful and hit just right with the naan and onion kulcha that we ordered. There is something here for everyone as Indian food is very vegetarian friendly. Our group was very hungry and it was my first meal of the day, so I licked the plate clean Service 3/5 Slow service as it took us almost 45 minutes to get our food after ordering. Ambience 2/5 Nothing to write home about. We sat a couple tables away from the door, which was annoying because every time someone would enter or leave, a rush of cold air hit us. Probably not the case in the summer. The space is small and can get crowded when multiple people enter at the same time. Very dim lighting to the point where it's even difficult to see the food.

Yelp
Got take out, go else where Total meal was 50 dollars for the record 18 dollars a sabji

Yelp
Bhatti is one of many Indian restaurants along these blocks of Lexington Ave. The atmosphere hews towards the fancy side, though prices are not as bougie as one might fear. Not a great deal, but won't break the bank either. I shared two chicken kebabs, an order of chicken tikka masala, rice, and garlic naan with my dining companions. The chicken was cooked nicely and the spices and sauces were a hit. I particularly enjoyed the ghost pepper chicken, which was surprisingly not too spicy. The chicken tikka masala was a faithful execution of this classic dish. I would recommend this as a decent Indian lunch or dinner joint. Service was good, though a little frosty. Smile!

Harleen M.

Yelp
It was kind of them to let us in without reservation. However, the food in general was very mid. I say this only because it is an indian chef's restaurant so I expected something more.
google avatar

Shannon F.

Yelp
Food - 4.5 Service - 5 Ambiance - 3.5, doesn't have much of a vibe if you're looking for an aesthetic place but is comfortable, casual and clean YUM! Bhatti Indian grill has been on my list for a while now and for good reason. The food was excellent! We were able to walk in with no res around 7:15 pm and grab the last open table which was awesome. The service was great very quick and friendly. We ordered the chicken tikki masala, nizami korma, basmati rice and garlic naan. Everything was incredible and perfect for a cold nyc winter night. They service beer and wine as well which was reasonably priced and a very heavy pour!

Ishita G.

Yelp
Good lunch specials and affordable cost. Fast service and to go orders are packed well
google avatar

Cate T.

Yelp
I thought this was a great spot! The paneer and chili Gobi appetizers were absolutely excellent, and the chicken tikka masala was decent. It felt a little like we had to get the servers' attention a couple times but overall had a good experience. I'd go again!

Dalia K.

Yelp
Everything was incredibly delicious. Our favorite was the AMCHOORI BHINDI, we have never had okra this way. The ALLEPY FISH CURRY was the perfect coconut flavor. Would highly recommend. The service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was cheerful and quaint.
google avatar

Madison R.

Yelp
Sat on the patio for dinner, had a delightful experience. The food was so tasty, service was fast. We had chicken tikka masala, naan, and chicken biryani as well as the kebabs. Everything that we had was amazing
google avatar

Doris W.

Yelp
I never order Indian food, probably because I don't really know what to order. So when we were in NYC, and had a chance to grab Indian food with my cousin and her BF, we went for it! And I loved it! He ordered items I would never think to order, so I got to try several new to me dishes, and it was great! The only downside was the wait for our food took a while, and when we ran out of naan to eat our food, and we ordered more, it took even longer, so our food was cold when we finished. We ordered: - potato app, not sure what it was called - paneer app - butter chicken - Chicken Tikka Masala - Onion Kulcha - Garlic naan - Saag Paneer We went through like 10 orders of naan amongst the 5 of us, it was delicious! I can't seem to match up the names of the dish we got with their online menu. But overall, we enjoyed all the dishes here!
google avatar

Sandra L.

Yelp
I thought this was one of the better Indian restaurants I've been to, especially in the Murray hill area. The tikka paneer was very flavorful and the naan was very soft. The service was a little rude but not a big deal.
google avatar

Meghna S.

Yelp
This used to be one of the best Indian places once upon a time but not anymore, they need to reinvent themselves. The food, service and ambience in comparison to other new Indian places remains substandard. Service as I said is mediocre, they are under staffed hence the time from 'order to food on table' took long, which could be still discounted as there is genuine manpower issue. But that is no excuse for food being bland and greasy. Not the place I used to visit. Paneer cubes were hard, dal and kebabs were too greasy. We liked the Bernardi chaat, no complains there. Do try and decide for yourself. My friends have been regular patrons here, too have visited this place on a few previous occasions and have loved it. Hope they really do make some improvements.
google avatar

Vishnu G.

Yelp
Great choice for Indian food! The chaat options had great flavor - good spice level and brightness from red onions and chutneys. The Malai kofta was rich and creamy, and the garlic naan tasted fresh. There isn't much seating, but the outdoor tables are nice on a pleasant day.
google avatar

Amit M.

Yelp
I've only ordered takeout from here - we ordered the lamb kebabs and bhuna gosht with tandoor roti. Food was pretty decent will definitely order from here again.
google avatar

Rochelle H.

Yelp
So, my daughter, sister and I have been to Bhatti's restaurant and had such a wonderful meal that we decided to go back again on our trip to NYC. We called to make sure that they would be open and we were told to come in. We took a Uber and arrived at 3:15pm. We were told to our face that they weren't open. Additionally, I said that we just called and were told to come to the restaurant. The young man shrugged his shoulders and made no comment. However, when we walked out and looked for nearby restaurants, we watched new customers walk in. Disappointed is not even the word to describe our feelings. What was once a favorite restaurant in NYC, is now one of our least favorites. I don't know what the deal was but they don't have to worry about us ever returning based on their poor customer service.
google avatar

Pratiksha R.

Yelp
When I saw the rating on Yelp I was little skeptical about going to this restaurant but all my doubts were cleared once I ate their food. We were a group of 8 and made the reservations 2 days ago for Sunday lunch. Three of us were sharing vegetarian food so I can only mention about what we had. For starters we ordered banarasi tikki chaat and achaari paneer tikka. Both were perfect. Paneer tikka was well grilled. For main course we ordered bhaati dal, kadhai paneer and for breads butter naan, garlic naan and onion kulacha. Dal was soo good. Vegetable biryani was good too. I found it little sticky but taste was good. It was a perfect place to eat naan and dal on a chilly morning.
google avatar

Hannah J.

Yelp
This is my new favorite Indian restaurant. Walked in for Sunday lunch with no reservation and was seated quickly. Very clean & overall good vibes. Got the paneer tikka, chili gobhi, palak paneer and anjeer malai kofta. The entrees do not come with rice, so it has to be ordered separately (one was good for 3 people, but we also got naan). The garlic naan has the perfect crisp to chewy ratio and was absolutely delicious. Everything was very flavorful. There is definitely a spicy kick in every dish so be cautious if you can't handle any spice.
google avatar

Parth T.

Yelp
Amongst the very average Indian food around the city, this place is a better option between fine dining and your average Indian place. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good, satisfying meal.
google avatar

Jasleen L.

Yelp
If you are North Indian and craving some good food, do come here. Ordered daal makhni, butter chicken and bhatti da murgh, mint lachcha parantha and butter naan. Their breads can be improved but the chicken and daal were amazing!! Very close to what you get in Delhi, probably one of the better non indian food joints that we tried across US
google avatar

Shirley H.

Yelp
This is a decent Indian food spot. We ordered Bhatti Paneer Tikka, Mango Lassi, Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan. While the dishes are very flavorful, the meat seems to be a bit dry. I like their mango lassi quite a bit though! The service and ambiance are fine. If you are looking for a casual Indian food dinner, this is a good spot.
google avatar

Sha S.

Yelp
Indian food is always a good time. All their dishes are delicious and fresh and don't even get me started on the naan - it's baked fresh and so soft! This was my boyfriend's first time trying Indian food and he fell in love. I've been to Bhakti twice already and it never disappoints it. It's right near Baruch College so you do have other options of Indian eateries to go to but this restaurant is just a different vibe.
google avatar

Anumeha T.

Yelp
Definitely can say this is the best Indian restaurant in the city, especially when it comes to north Indian cuisine. Banarsi Chaat and palak kabab stole the show! The veg kolhapuri had such a nice smoky flavor - would highly recommend to try this. Methi matar malai had just right amount of sweetness and creaminess - it was not overdone. The gulab jamuns were so soft and melted in mouth. Our group loved everything we ordered. Service is fast and prompt.
google avatar

Neil F.

Yelp
I am here right now and I am very impressed. I'm British and find American Indian places to be pretty poor. Not this one. Excellent red bean kebabs, excellent chicken chettinard, excellent zesty lemon rice. Poppadums are crisp without being burnt or oily. Mango chutney tastes home made. Excellent efficient service

Helena ..

Yelp
I waited 45 minutes for my order and they canceled at the start of the delivery window
google avatar

Yelp
Solid spot for a more upscale Indian meal in nyc! Especially in the Murray hill area a lot of the Indian spots are more hole in the wall ( authentic) that is perfect for takeout or a casual meal! This spot definitely caters more towards the bring a date or your co workers for a nice meal! The food is 100% authentic though with great flavor and a great selection of mains! Saw on Yelp they used to offer a complementary papadum with chutneys and when we asked he said they didn't even have it on the menu, after showing him on Yelp he did find some in the back ( there was a $2.50 charge but it was worth it!) We went for the rogan josh which was perfectly spicy and the lamb was super tender and fall apart in the sauce! The palak paneer was also a great mild side to add to the spicy lamb!! The paneer cheese had a nice bite and held up under the spinach! They only have beer and wine so something to be aware of! Overall a good spot for dinner / date or a night with coworkers!
google avatar

Sucheta B.

Yelp
This place is just consistently phenomenal. Their mains are good (naan is so buttery and perfect) but their shining star are their apps (kebabs in particular). Highly recommend the - Bhatti Paneer Tikka - Galouti Kebab - Murgh Malai Kebab - Lamb chops
google avatar

Jatin A.

Yelp
Came here for a lunch with a friend, and it didn't disappoint. The inside decor is stylish, and the service is good. The chicken Tikka masala was really tasty but it saddens me to have to order rice separately for that price. Plus, the chicken portions could have been bigger. I'd like to come here and try some of the other dishes as well. If you are seeking authentic Indian food this is not it. Come here for some nice comfort Indian food, with a bougie interior.
google avatar

Niu-Niu N.

Yelp
Such an underrated place! Tucked away on Lexington Ave, I came on a Friday night for a friend's birthday, and they were able to accommodate us as a party of 10. We wanted to split the ordering and checks halfway down the table to make paying at the end easier, and the waiters graciously helped us do so. At the same time, they also helped a lot with informing us about the ingredients in the dishes as one friend had a dietary restriction. We ordered quite a few things: dahi palak kebab (pan seared spinach ricotta patties), chili gobhi (sweet-spicy sesame cauliflower), bullet chicken kebab, dilli ka butter chicken, rogan josh (lamb). I loved every single dish. They were neatly plated and not a single thing to nitpick regarding the taste. At the end of the night, they were also able to put in a candle on a dessert dish (gulab) for our friend.
google avatar

Susan K.

Yelp
Walked to the take out window where 4 deliverymen were waiting, to place our order. No one answered the phone when we called directly. Our favorite place is closed (Dhaba) and Bhatti was recommended and close. We had chana masala, vegetable korma, aloo tikki chat, naan and a pea dish (they didn't have aloo mutter). All the food was very good. No complaints. Would order from here again.
google avatar

Tony C.

Yelp
Came here with colleagues for lunch. The place gets packed so should arrive early during a workweek. They offer lunch special where many set courses are served and each person pays one price, I think roughly $20 or so per person after tax and tip. Good variety of offering from veggie to meat.
google avatar

Becca S.

Yelp
Great Indian food. The space is small so highly recommend getting a reservation or carrying food out.

Samantha S.

Yelp
Bhatti hits so hard. I crave and yearn for Bhatti. The Bhagran Bartha is delicious and so is any chicken dish I've had on their menu. Reasonably priced for such high quality, classic, delicious Indian food.
google avatar

Nandi S.

Yelp
I've tasted food in the motherland, take it from me. Very one note in all dishes, didn't understand why. Best was lamb korma, very flavorful. Heavy cream dictating North Indian food is disappointing. Theres more to it than just adding cream to dishes. Also, kebab with 4 pieces is not a kebab. Service was slow, not sure why. Ambiance, crowded and tables werent spaced right. Tandoori roti was best.
google avatar

Lingxiao C.

Yelp
Help me out here - so the curry lunch special doesn't come with either rice or naan, have to order as a side for $3-$5 extra, AND there's a 7% Covid surcharge? Why don't you just straight up rob us? We got three lunch special entrees, two orders of naan, a side of rice only after we realized that our curry dishes didn't came with any, one mango lassi and one coke. The total bill came out to be a whooping $105. They might have just made history and redefined "lunch special." My vindaloo was not spicy at all - no where near the quality I can get at Chote Nawab. Naan was also oddly thin.
