BHC is a chain from Korean that is known as Better and Healthier Choice and focus on Korean fried chicken. I tried this place after it showed up on Instagram where influencers were highlighting their food. We opted for their wings and drumsticks which come in a variety of different flavor choices. For the wings, we got their Classic Fried which had a light batter. Our order of 4 wings included two drummetes and two flat parts with the added tips. In terms of size and meatiness, I think they were a good size. The flavor was light and it didn't feel heavy. The wings were also piping hot and fresh. For the drumsticks, we got the Gold King. I like how these drumsticks had a light poofy batter that was extra krispy and captured the glaze. The drumsticks were quite meaty and came piping hot as well. This restaurant is located in Chapman plaza which houses a lot of different eateries. There is parking but is valet and was $20 on a weekend.

As a self-proclaimed Korean fried chicken queen, I knew I had to stop by BHC Chicken when I heard they came out with something called the Bburinkle Star set. It's a limited-time item that's available until the end of August and at their K-town location only. According to their website, bburinkle is their own magic seasoning that's supposed to taste like blue cheese, onion, and garlic. Let me tell y'all, the FLAVOR!! Doesn't even need the sauce that it came with, but I like to dip fries in the cheesy yogurt sauce though. And they even got dessert covered with the cheesy lava balls. Would make the 90-minute drive to BHC for their Bburinkle chicken, easy. Thanks for reading! ^-^

I came here for their Bbrinkle star set that I had seen on TikTok and their IG and was honestly disappointed. The quantity was great for the price which was 8 tenders, two cheese balls, French fries with a side of dipping sauce and something else I can’t recall for $13. The quality itself was a letdown for the chicken was not cleaned and was very fatty. Secondly the seasoning on the entire meal was sweet and was an unpleasant surprise. The cheeseballs and dipping sauce were also sweet which I did not like. The cheeseballs were also not really melted so I honestly don’t see myself coming back here again.

My experience was alright. I was hoping this would have been good food, however, it was a disappointment. Whoever is cooking here does not know how to season the chicken nor clean the chicken before cooking. For myself and my family, I clean the chicken before storing it with salt and water taking away some of the certain layer of the chicken that would not be that good. But, here it made me want to throw up. Other than that the seasoned ones were pretty good. But, the seasoning only stopped at the breading of the chicken. The chicken itself had no flavor at all. The chicken was piping hot which was good knowing it was well cooked. The confusing part is that they have so many options for different style of chicken (i.e. wings, thighs, breast, and tenders), but you can only order classic and spicy in most of them while the seasoned ones came in wings and upon ordering them they were so much more than the other options. Like, can I not have a boneless option with the same flavor option. I feel like that is not too much to ask. The service here was great except for the employees that felt like it was their first time because they did not know the menu at all and accidentally placed the wrong order on the table one too many times. I give props to the one employee that was doing so much work while the other staff felt like they could not be trusted. The good employee that had a bit of an accent was hard to understand, however, he was trying his best and was actually the server for the whole place and worked behind the counter while the other staff seemed lazy and uncoordinated. As for the atmosphere, it was actually nice. A little loud just because of other guests and being outside the parking is pretty loud, but other than that was really nice. I feel like if they clean their chicken better, make their own ranch dressing (a thicker sauce) instead of giving salad dressing and had more of the Asian staff who work hard, have knowledge of the menu, and remember which table order went to when told this place would be great! But, Imma have to give it a 2 star for the food reasons.

BHC is a popular Korean fried chicken place from Korea. It opened in LA not so long ago. I've tried BHC in another country before and thought it was pretty good. I came here to the one in K-Town feeling a little disappointed. The kimchi rice and their signature fried tasted great. But the chickens were mainly crispy flour than the chicken itself. The service was also not satisfying... It was our first time at this location and they had options of parts chicken that you have to choose along with different sauces for your chicken. The lady who helped us out was not good at explaining. We had repeatedly ask the same thing for maybe 3-4 times and she made a tiring / annoying face... When were there, there was only another group of people eating there. So it was pretty empty. After we ordered, it took a long time (I did not time them, but it was longer than usual restaurant) for the foods to come out.

I used to really enjoy BHC Chicken, but my recent experience was disappointing. The batter-to-meat ratio was off, with too much breading and not enough chicken. The texture was also too soggy, and the sauce wasn’t mixed properly, leading to uneven flavor distribution. I hope they improve their quality control because, when done right, they are one of the best Korean fried chicken franchises.

Google
We wanted some korean fried chicken and found this spot. They just opened recently so we went to try. For the price point and quality, we were incredibly disappointed. What we ordered: - Gold King Drumsticks: the drums are suspiciously huge, the flavor is mediocre, and the breading isn't crunchy or textured at all (smooth..). the drums had chicken blood inside too, was all gooey and jello-like, disgusting. i've never been so disappointed...1/5 - Rose rice cakes with noodles: the rice cakes was cooked perfectly and so was the noodles. the flavors were incredibly. the sausages and fish cakes were delicious as well! 10/5 Service & Atmosphere: - The service is fine. They weren't super welcoming but were good at checking in on you. Unfortunately they ran out of cheese balls which was a pity. - The atmosphere is great, outdoor patio and indoor seating. It's a cute little spot. It's a little cold inside so we picked outside seating and it was wonderful. Overall, we're disappointed in their korean fried chicken (drums specifically) and their seasoning. The only good thing is their rabokki. I wouldn't go back or recommend until the quality improves for the price we paid! 1/5

The server was very friendly and explained the menu well. The party platter was the perfect choice for the family. The chicken and sides were really delicious!

Yelp
I came here Friday night and I was surprised on how welcoming and friendly the staff were! They were so friendly and the worker even gave us tips on how to save money despite it being a little slow. The interior is very clean and the design is modern and instagram worthy! Everything was served warm and fresh and the vegetables in the sandwich felt very fresh! We were even given free tote bags(i think this is because of the grand opening) and shown great hospitality as the workers gave us plastic gloves to prevent our hands from getting dirty. i love this place and I hope everyone else shares the same experience as me and my family does!

Yelp
The best chicken in LA. Please try their hot fried and Classic fried tender. It's moist inside and crispy outside. Also hot bburinkle with burring sauce... its amazing combination. And try cheese ball, it's very yummy. I will definitely visit again :)

Yelp
I got the bhc platter and it was sooo good. Their tteokbokki is amazing, it's very flavorful and has a little kick to it. I also had some fresh fried chicken and it was one of the crispiest fried chicken I've tried. It took about 15-20 minutes to get my food, which is longer than kfc or other fried chicken chain but it was fine with me since this is not really a fast food. The food come hot and fresh which I liked the most.

Yelp
Chicken place is inside a corner mini mall. Parking is $10. I parked on the street. But would hate to pay to park. Restaurant is to the right as you enter. It has kind of a K-pop vibe. I like the Korean food options they have. The classic chicken sandwich is a tasty fried chicken sandwich that I would order again. They have two choices for French fries a skinny one and a potato wedge. We had the skinny French fries. I ordered the chicken tenders. Nice and crispy but would have liked a bit more flavor. The habanero was a good choice with the sweet and spicy flavor. The rice cakes dish was spicy and very tasty. They have some party platters to choose from. Our server Josue was a very sweet and nice guy who made sure to bring us everything we needed. Excellent customer service. Thank you!

Yelp
Let's start with the bad news first to get it out of the way. Con's: 1. Takes forever!!! I wanted to try it so I just ordered the 4 piece. It took almost 30 minutes to get my order. They didn't even have that many customers. A few delivery orders and 2 in store customers besides me ‍ 2. Super expensive. 4 chicken wings (not whole wings. Just wing portions) cost me $10. ($8.99 plus tax it was about $9.98 smh) 3. They only gave me drums and no flats! I hate drum sticks. And these drums were HUGE! I really hate huge chicken wings. I asked for chicken wings not turkey wings. Ugh 4. The meat was tough. I could barely bite into the meat. I don't know if it's because they didn't cook it long enough or what. But for it to have taken almost 30 minutes the chicken should have been cooked better on the inside. I only ate the crispy skin. I couldn't even eat the meat. So $10 down the drain. Pros: 1. The chicken was super crispy!!! 2. The flavor was really good! Whatever they seasoned it with was delicious. If they season the chicken strips with the same thing, I'd like to go back and try the chicken strips. I hope they cut them smaller and don't give you insanely huge chicken strips with giant chunks of meat. So gross. I prefer smaller slices. 3. The restaurant was clean. It's In a cute area 4. The staff was nice But definitely not worth $10. You can't tell from my photo but that chicken drum was huge!

Yelp
We were in the plaza and decided to come due to the large balloons celebrating their grand opening. Checking IG, we saw they had opened just 3 days ago (May 31st 2024) when we came. We approached and the guy told us to wait a bit longer as they were just opening at 11am. No worries. We stood around and decided to finally walk in at around 11:08am. The guy asked us if we were dining in or doing takeout. We picked takeout since we were still a bit full. We picked out the Golden King flavor ("flavorful Korean soy sauce, sweet honey and garlic") with the 16 pc chicken wings for $31.99 & added the Kimchi Fried rice for $13.99. Wings) Smaller than I thought in terms of meat, interesting to note that the tips of the wings are attacked to the drum/flat portions. The fried look of the chicken seemed more on the soft breading style rather than hard and crispy. For flavor-wise, it was alright (I can't remember the exact taste) but it did smell really good while we were in the car. Kinchi rice) Also unexpectedly smaller than we thought. The size of the rice container was shorter and smaller than the size of my hand. It's enough for 2 at least. Needless to say, we were partially full from our meals but it did read a satisfactory point. We probably won't come back here again due to the other options in the area for a bit better bang for our buck. We appreciate the server for being kind to us and communicating well. He offered us glasses of water while we waited which was very sweet, hoever the room temperature of the water in the wet glasses (seemed like they were barely washed/rinsed) kinda had us only wanting to sip once and drink from our much colder hydro flasks later. Interior) LED screens showcasing kpop. Little part of me do wished they turned up the music that they were showing to keep the vibes going. All you hear are sounds of clashing in the kitchen while you're waiting. Modern furniture and decor, bathrooms are clean. Hope that there is more organization between everything, high hopes for the place and its future!

Yelp
*4.5 stars but I loved the Bburinkle chicken so much I'm rounding to 5* Ordered the BHC Party Platter which for $100 you get a preselected choice of four types of chicken flavors, potato wedges, cheese balls, coleslaw, radish, and breadsticks. Perfect for sharing with a group of friends if you want to try different things on the menu! Overall, the chicken meat was very tender and juicy and though we came as a large group right when this place opened the servers were accommodating. Standouts: I am obsessed with the Bburinkle chicken here! The breading is crispy and the cheese powder is so addicting. I wish the platter came with more of the bburinkle in place of the original chicken. Definitely coming back to eat this again. We also ordered the Bburing lemon yogurt sauce for $1 to complement it. I also loved the breadsticks! The bread is nice and soft and inside is filled with a delicious yellow custard. I could probably eat so many of these but also a must order! I enjoyed the cheese balls as well. The cheese was not completely melted inside but I thought the outside texture was perfect and also tasted really good with the Bburing sauce. Could pass on: I thought the original was good, but the breading gets soggy easily and it becomes less enjoyable. I also have an affinity for very flavorful foods so I wouldn't have ordered original if it wasn't part of the platter. I also wasn't into the coleslaw because I'm not the biggest fan of celery but if you like celery then this is for you.

Yelp
So so SAD it was so so BAD!! Took over 45 minutes from order server even had to come out twice to apologize for long delay!! Unfortunately wait was not rewarded and the chicken was no bueno. Soggy batter and flavors were just ok at best. So so SAD....Heard so much hype and good things proclaiming best or most popular fried chicken in Korea but super disappointed!!

Yelp
I had previously been disappointed with BHC Chicken at Groove Mall, but decided to visit their new location in Koreatown after hearing they had improved their menu. Despite being a party of two, we ordered the $99 Party Platter meant for four people, planning to take the leftovers to go. When I asked how many people the platter could serve, they said it was for four people and asked if they should place the order for us. We specifically ordered, pointing to the menu and saying, "We want this," but what we received was different from the picture. When we complained that it looked different, they then claimed they had explained that the current Party Platter includes four flavors with one of the flavors repeated instead of five different ones. This was only told to us after we received the food. Had we known this, we wouldn't have ordered the Party Platter. Although we were upset, we decided to eat anyway. However, it became impossible when we found a white hair in the fried chicken. It was disgusting. We left the restaurant after paying $10 for parking. They claimed it was a chicken feather, but a 10cm feather would indicate a genetic mutation, right? It was clearly a curly human hair. They explained that the issues were due to being newly opened and unprepared, but shouldn't they have been properly prepared before opening? The staff were friendly, but the manager hid behind them without providing any explanation. Our Sunday was ruined because of BHC. I do not recommend this place.

Yelp
Chicken smells bad... The flavor isnt great either... We ordered wings but got some deformed chicken.... Def not wings... Asked for sauces ... got charged... wasnt in the bag... Just so gross Asides the fact they forgot the sauce the employee was polite. Hopefully its cause they just opened... but damn such a miss...
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Ordered spicy cheese chicken and they barely coated our chicken. See the picture, it was nothing like the amount of coating that we had in Korea. They also forgot our yogurt sauce, so make sure to double check for that as well.

Yelp
Grand opening of the BHC in Chapman Plaza, Koreatown. The interior looks super nice! Food was great!

Sung A.

Yelp
BHC Chicken Koreatown! In the corner of Chapman Mall, with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Perfect for lunch as parking is only $4, gets pretty pricey at night. Clean interior and bathroom. We got the hot chicken tenders, hot fried chicken, and a cheese skillet. Cheese skillet was amazing with crispy potatoes, baby tomatoes, great recommendation from staff. Wrap it in their hot and spicy sauce and house white for a fresh taste. Tenders were super juicy and the drumsticks chicken skin are cut in a unique way to bring that extra crisp. Staff were friendly and checked in pretty often. No alcohol yet, but they said it's coming soon. Will def be coming back to check out their other menu items, has more selection vs their Fairfax location. 10/10!

Yelp
Don't go to this place, don't support this fucking disgrace of a Korean Fried Chicken. Absolute dogshit lol. Bburinkle tasted like shit, the batter was wet and greasy, and it literally made me feel sick to the stomach after eating it. Same goes for Cheeseball as well. Coming from someone who really likes Fried Chicken lol. And you've gotta be joking at the portion of the sauce that they give you, a tiny sauce pack that's like 1/10th the size of the sauce bowl in Korean BHC, let alone taste anything like the one in Korea. This one is very watery and it doesn't add any flavor. Finally, Cheeseball also was greasy and bad. 이딴걸 장사라고.. 장난하냐? 10년된 기름에 튀긴 음식물쓰래기를 쳐 팔고 있네. 장사 접어라.

Yelp
Ok so I read reviews before going alot of people complain about time but u gotta forget about the time when this chicken is "Busssin" to those who don't kno what that word mean's basically the chicken is great like A+++++++++ I will be back to try the flavors next .. this chicken is good af fried perfect on my soul ima be back and the location in a good part of town

Shane G.

Yelp
I've come to this location around 5 times since they've opened, and each time, the food and service has been excellent! I do understand the other concerns about the wait time, which I feel they should've locked in prior to opening, but at least the quality of food has been consistently good- especially that signature sandwich!

Dohoi K.

Yelp
They all are friendly and the foods are so nice. I love bburingkle the most BTW!! I definitely bisit there again!!

Byeongsoo K.

Yelp
This place is great! I love this chicken! especially bbrinkle. The employers are very professional

Mitchel S.

Yelp
Nam sun the manager is awesome! He's friendly and so cool. They have really good chicken probably better than any other chicken places in town. Macho king is my favorite.

jiaming z.

Yelp
horrible place, waited 40 minutes just for a small take out order. The employees has such a bad attitude. NOT RECOMMEND
google avatar

Lee A.

Yelp
Genuinely awful, its FRIED chicken so tell me why when I arrived on time the chicken was anything but fried? tasted soggy and bland. The ambiance is very sterile and boring as well. Parking / navigating is a nightmare. Service is nothing special either just a "hi" and "bye" DO NOT GO HERE , go to Pelicana or BB.Q chicken if you want Korean fried chicken from a chain that has an actual good track record. BHC Chicken us LA folk have better options at our disposal than your slop so step up your game.

Kayla P.

Yelp
Fries were soggy and had no seasoning. Never coming to this location again. McDonald fries are better

Hera K.

Yelp
I had high hopes.... BHC is a popular chicken chain in korea but the ktown location blew my hopes away. 1. Chicken wings - they are smaller than your typical korean wings. Chicken wings were moist but the batter was greasy and not crispy. Ordered hot crispy and golden king. Hot crispy did not had the spiciness and the golden king lacked in flavor 2. Bburing sauce - menu describes it to be yogurt lemon sauce. However, there was no lemon taste at all. Instead it had a powder cheese taste. Gross. 3. Make matters worse, my husband and I had tummy aches afterwards. 4. Price is definitely not worth it. You can find cheaper higher quality korean wings in ktown.

로

Yelp
I was shocked when i got my first bburinkle chicken from ktown. The bburinkle cheese powder did not even cover half of the chicken, and I felt like eating regular fried chicken with hint of cheese. As a person who always had bburinkle chicken in South Korea, this does not taste the same, not even close. I don't know why this place is "saving" the powder and degrading the brand value to those who did not experience bhc before. I cannot recommend bhc ktown to any of my friends.

Jen P.

Yelp
It's BHC chicken! Bburingkle is the signature menu so recommend trying the cheeseballs and chicken in this flavor.

Hee Su C.

Yelp
i'm from Korea, tried the Korean BHC. This takes nothing like the one from Korea its not even funny. Two times the prices, half the taste. Please do not come here, just go somewhere elsez

Joseph S.

Yelp
Unbelievable quality, surprised at the attention to detail, the well trained and staffed location. Cheese fritters is a must get as an appetizer, spicy chicken, both bone-in and tenders were cooked to perfection, juicy and crispy, full of flavor. Need to come back when beers are in for a classic chimak night, one to be remembered I am sure given the amazing ambiance and decor. New menu that I did not see in their first location like kimchi fried rice and ddukbokki, which I must come back for.
