Bia Hải Xồm

It's Bia Hoi restaurant. It's huge near Japan town. We had 5 dishes for 3 persons, and couldn't finish. Everything were ok except goat meat... It was really hard and less meat, almost skin and fat... its taste were ok though... I didn't check the price for each of them, but it costs us over 700k for 5 dishes. It's not expensive, but the value for the price is not so high. The location is very good so, it may be supposed to be not cheap.

Local canteen style place. Loved the pour yourself pitchers of beer. We went as a group of 8 for Saturday lunch and very few people around. Easy to get served. Delivery a bit haphazard but was a good place to visit. You can choose your own fish to eat. If you want fine dining this is not your place. Fried rice was my favourite.

Great atmosphere and good Vietnamese foods. Staff weren’t super friendly when we went there. But this was my second visit and I really like it. We can get a tower beer which serves for 7-10 glasses of beer. Really fun to visit.

Hanoi No.1 bia hoi, you can enjoy truly Vietnam local foods and beer. Tasty, but reasonable price. My favorite is Vietnamese Solty Fried Chicken(GÀ RANG MUỐI).

If you are visiting Hanoi, avoid this place at all costs. The food was mediocre at best, but the worst part was that the prices were crazy. We were brought a menu that had Vietnanese and English and the prices were high, then the waitress was writing on the bill different prices, higher, hard to understand what it was as she was writing in Vietnamese and did not speak English. We ordered roasted duck which was not cooked properly, tough and chewy. We asked for it to be cooked a bit more (through Google translate) and they just stuck in a microwave for a few minutes instead. As this was our first night in Hanoi, we did not know any places to eat and just stumbled across this one. At the end, the bill came to around 1,200000 which is a lot for not a lot of food. We asked if the service was included and rhe waitress said no, but the recommended tip is 380000. She was an older lady, perhaps the manager of the place. This was a lot and the sheer audacity to ask for that was staggering after a below average meal that costed way too much for what it was. Rip off. So definitely not recommending this place. There are lots if nice restaurants in the Old Quarter that serve by far better food at a fraction of the price. Avoid this place.

Scam restaurant. Ordered and pointed to the 50.000 soup on the menu. Then bill come, the soup became 100.000. Waitress say it is a big bowl when there is only one 50.000 soup option on the menu. Scam at best.

This is a restaurant that I tried to visit and experience this atmosphere again during my business trip to Hanoi~~ The food and beer were delicious, and the price was also reasonable~~

Vietnamese style Beergarten. Great local food with cold beer!
