Such a cute restaurant under the Williamsburg Bridge. I'm really happy I found this place. I'm so particular about Vietnamese food, so we ordered spring rolls, chicken fried rice, pork chop, and banh mi, which seemed to be a safe choice. I was pretty impressed with the taste and also the price. I'll definitely be back to try the pho.

Tasty food! If you like to indulge into the world of spicy, I recommend the curry soup, it’s really delicious. There is no Pho option for vegetarians since the soups are made with chicken or beef stock. The rooftop is quaint as well as the main dining area which provides an awesome vibe. The service is very attention driven and will make sure you get taken care of. Prices are way affordable for a joint like this. Stop by! You’ll like it :).

Very cute spot under the Williamsburg bridge. The place is very nice and if you are willing to take stairs, there is a nice rooftop (they won’t bring soups upstairs). Staff is very nice. Food is very good and prices are fair. They have a very good selection of beers and overall the venue is very cool.

After giving so many Brooklyn spots a chance based on good reviews, this is probably my last straw. Compared to the level of food that can be found in this city, this was truly disappointing. I imagine most of these Brooklyn reviewers are transplants who are experiencing these cuisines for the first time, which is understandable. The pho broth was plainly lacking in the characteristic rich beef flavor. Either wasn't simmered long enough or maybe was a powder. Toppings were scarce, and there were no connective tissues as is standard. Even the Sriracha was a knockoff (any authentic place knows rooster brand has no substitute). I tried a shallot noodle dish with chicken add-on. The chicken was dry to the point where I suspected it was microwaved (the edges were tough and edging on translucent) and the rest of the dish was oddly bland considering it clearly had a bunch of seasoning. The summer rolls were dry and lacking in taste. Shrimp was the smallest I've seen, proportions of ingredients were not good, and the dipping sauce was confusingly completely off. The ginger beer was good!

I really dug this spot, and I’m glad I walked in. My sister has visited Vietnam and loved the food and vibe here . I am craving the bahn mi as I write this. Nice cocktails , good brews , great food. I’ll be back soon

Such a great spot. Tried the new chicken curry over turmeric rice cooked in a cast iron pan and it was sooo tasty. My friend got the coconut milk curry and loved it as well.

A funky space with decent vegetarian options. Can handle large groups, assuming you don't show up when it's super busy. The rooftop is pretty nice as well, not sure why NYC licensing is so dumb that you cannot eat up there.

First of all this is a super chill place and almost doesn't feel like a restaurant at first glance. It almost just feels like a cute bushwick bar. It was an extremely hot day and their air conditioner isn't that great and their bathroom actually is quite dirty- but it's pretty much like a bar bathroom. The upside was that wow the cocktails were only $5 each for happy hour! I was like wow! This is insane pricing. We got three each and had some dinner. I got the vermicelli bowl and my party had an eggplant sandwich. The service really fast and the waitress made sure we got what we needed and especially reminded me that it wasn't before 8 yet- which is the happy hour end time. She also asked if I wanted to half the protein on the vermicelli bowl which was really nice since I loved having both grilled pork and spring roll with my bowl. It was fresh and good and prices were super great! My party said her banh mi was more on the spicy side but was still good and we enjoyed our meals. We appreciated having eggplant as one of the veggie options as you can pick that or tofu. This is a great spot for barmongers who are looking for healthier food than burgers and fries! You can also play the arcade games but I can't read Chinese so it was tough to understand but I think the plays are free so you can do something while you wait for a friend. The vibes of this place is so intriguing, it feels like a hidden gem that is super huge on the inside. Food is decently priced too. I had the oxtail stew which was good, meat was tender fall off the bone.

I try to look at Bia (#1) as a bar first, restaurant second. Once the Vietnamese elements have been striped away, it feels like a lot of bars in Williamsburg: fun with a little hipster vibe with the added fuel of having a roof deck. Personally, I'd come for the drinks but would only consider the food if *really* hungry. The view of the Williamsburg bridge is an immediate draw. I love their rooftop deck during a breezy, good weather day. The inside feels really industrial and spacious, with high ceilings and a lot of natural light during the daytime. The seating is nicely spaced out and it seems ideal for some group drinking action. They have a lot of stuff on tap as well as a decent spirits selection. For the me, the food comes as a bonus and less of a focus. Vietnamese restaurants are always a crapshoot in this part of the country and is not considered to have the best reputation in this fair city. That notion definitely applies here, but I won't fault them for trying. We need all the help we can get when it comes to Viet anything in NYC. The cha gio is nice, crispy, and somewhat mini, which really does pair well with drinks as an ideal bar snack. Banh mi is going to be mid and somewhat of an eyesore with the stuffings. I've struggled mightily with any of the noodle soups here from pho to bo kho and even the rice places, but especially the ca ri bo or the com tam. For the sake of the vibe, I'd recommend sticking to finger friendly foods, such as their skewers and wings. Even the bartenders and general staff members are butchering the names so badly that it's clear they don't encounter a lot of Viet-speaking patrons often. Nevertheless, Bia has become a part of the Brooklyn watering hole community and I think it's a solid place to grab a libation and enjoy the night. They accept credit cards, have gender neutral bathrooms and also offer free wifi. Take a seat at the communal table and enjoy a chat or two with other fellow patrons while indulging in the BK scene. __________ (#1) "Beer" in Vietnamese.

Probably Williamsburg best kept secret. A good Vietnamese restaurant that doubles as a great bar. A great place for late night meet ups or to celebrate events. Place stays open late into the night serving drinks. Food costs about what you'd expect in the area if not slightly cheaper. The food of course is good itself. The classic Bánh Mì is great and cheaper than a lot of places I've been to. Only complaint is that it could've used more filling. The fries it came with are good. One of the main highlights of this place is the night staff. Friendly bar tenders who are easy to get along with. Come here enough times and you'll be friends. For them alone I can recommend this place.

Loved this place. Great food. Service was fantastic. Food came out quick and prices are very reasonable. Ordered the chicken skewers- chicken wings- and summer rolls and all were really good. Skewers were a good size and had a great flavor. Could easily eat three as a main. Wings were crispy hot and 'fresh'. Nice sweet and spicy sauce. Not a huge fan of summer rolls but these were good. For the main order the pork chop and this was a winner winner pork chop dinner! Pork was tender and the egg was a good addition. Only nit I would have preferred a runny egg and not a fried egg. Would and wi go back. Good spot and enjoyed the laid back vibe.

I'm shocked this spot doesn't have better reviews! I came here for a late night bite and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was lovely (very cozy), service was great, and the prices were reasonable! I love that they are open late and their chicken banh mi was delicious with the perfect amount of spice and flavor.

I love this place so much. For two entrees, an appetizer, and a drink it was only $45 which is great for how huge the portions are. The ambiance is always on point too. My only complaint is the service: it always takes forever to get my food and the servers are always wayyyyy overstretched. I have been here for dinner 6+ times and it has always been like this, they need to make some kind of change. One time I came with a friend we waited almost 45 minutes for a server to come to us because she was so busy, even though the place wasn't totally full. If they were better staffed so there could be better service, it would be 5 starts. Otherwise though this place is excellent.

Chill and laid back neighborhood Vietnamese spot with lots of vegetarian options, high ceilings, a good playlist, and friendly staff. We had the veggie bánh mi, vermicelli salad, bok choy, and provenzal fries, which was just the right amount of food for two people. Definitely coming back!

I still love this place. The atmosphere and the bartenders make you feel so welcome. It's just a great combination of a bar with really good Vietnamese food.

Came here when they were still just opening up because of covid. You have the option of sitting inside or outside on the roof. My friends and I opted to sit on the rooftop which are a nice aesthetic with the picnic tables and overlooking the area. The food was an average bahnmi and the pho was alright as well! Nothing extremely insane and noteworthy but not bad just an average bahnmi sandwhich! Price is average for food around here but whats great is that this place is near many other stores and restaurants too!

Chicken dumplings were really great! The service was fast and friendly. Rooftop was beautiful.

The ambience and vibe here is super chill being in Williamsburg, there were multiple levels/rooftop access I think but you can't eat pho upstairs. I think their shrimp rolls were pretty good! I think it could have been more packed but it was very fresh-the peanut sauce was a little runny where I think mine on the more viscous side. The pho was beef, I don't remember if they had a steak version or if they were unable to take out the beef and replace with steak but was pretty underwhelmed for the cost. It definitely wasn't as warm or flavorful. There was no kick to it and I remember not finishing it because I wasn't as impressed (I always finish my pho!) vibe is on point though.

Food is still delicious. Been going here for years. Pho is outstanding Thai chicken wings are basically a good group! Wife had her staple: pork chop with rice. Dog friendly. Service has gotten a little unfriendly but otherwise, it is worth the trip. The Vietnamese food a em so competitive in NYC but this plate holds its weight One star taken off because it has a B rating from the health department. Get that fixed!!

This is just what I needed on a chilly Thursday night! We were seated in the first floor dining area, and only stuck around for our meal. I would be interested in returning to check out the rooftop. Just a head's up they don't serve soup on the rooftop, so don't count on having pho with your drinks! To be honest I always have low expectations when it comes to Vietnamese restaurants in this part of the United States, but the broth at Bia was one of the best I've had in the northeast! A plus that they serve food, and are open late.

Went on Tuesday night. It was pretty empty because of the time. Server took us inside. Very nice server who is also a bartender. Recommended us beer. His recommendation was great. He recommended an ipa that went really well with the pho. We ordered bone in beef ribs pho, summer roll, beef pho. I thought the food was decent, not the best pho in nyc. Well broth, but lack on richness. The mood is really good. I really liked their interior and the bar. They have a full bar. I would recommend for a group hangout or a date night

The curry soup with eggplant (you can also get it with meat options) was really fantastic. Been thinking about it ever since.

Wanted to order a nice hot soup from nearby so decided to give them a try. When I got to the restaurant at a usual dinner time, it was completely empty... I didn't even see anyone working. After a few seconds of confusion, someone showed up and got me my take-out. The food was not great; it didn't seem authentic whatsoever.

Vietnamese restaurant in Williamsburg. It's not just restaurant but it's great bar with rooftop. I like food too just there's no server so just make sure if you order food don't drink to much so you can get your food to rooftop.

This place seemed cool with a nice atmosphere. Seemed a little understaffed, so no complaints of the slow service. But then my beer can was dirty in the rim, and I went to get napkins from The bar to clean it, and told them. Then the next can had a straight up mouse turd in the rim of it! Yuk. Luckily, since my first can was dirty, I checked before I drank the second one with my phone flashlight. The bartender says "we get our cans in in boxes and crates, shipped and they come like that" yeah okay, thanks for letting me know you're aware that your serving mouse shit to customers and not doing anything about it. Gross place for sure

Beautiful location to come for a drink. Food portions were great but a bit underseasoned. Will most def come back to hang and have some drinks but probably not to get food.

Popped into Bia for a drink this week to kill some time before my nephew and his fiance arrived in Brooklyn for our dinner around the corner. I really liked the vibe of this place and loved the rooftop. My timing was perfect - no one else was up there and it was so relaxing. Special shout out to Will the bartender - super cool and great Happy Hour vodka and soda. Coincidentally, my nephew, his fiance and I returned after dinner to have a few more drinks there.

I lived in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC area where the pho is amazing. The pho at Bia is bad. I would never take any of my Vietnamese friends here for pho. IMHO, the pho here isn't even an option. Look elsewhere. Anyone who thinks this pho is even remotely decent has no clue what good pho is supposed to taste like.

Agree with the consensus of other reviews. Food is good. It is a fun, divey place. And the service could be better. The night I was there, a Saturday, two people were covering the entire restaurant. They did pretty well considering, but they were spread too thin to be attentive or patient. Server walked away before I had finished my order--was going to ask for no mayo on the bahn mi--which I think may have also had to do with the noise level, but if she weren't in such a rush, she would have seen me talking even if she couldn't hear me. The beer selection could be improved signifcantly, and 2 of only 6 or 7 beers were different from what was written on the chalk board...I don't understand the point of a chalk board if you aren't going to update it. Also, the bottles of beer were hidden off to the side, and they didn't have a drink menu, so I missed them. That said, I was just in Vietnam for a couple of weeks and thought the food here compared well to what I experienced there. And the prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. The rooftop is nice if you like cityscapes, which I do, but you can't eat up there.

Staff is very friendly and I love that they have roof access. Order at the bar and bring your food up to the roof (with the exception of soups for obvious reasons). Had the mussels here and the broth was delish. The Bun and Chicken Bun we got was mediocre. No custom cocktails but they have a full bar with beer on tap.

The food is okay, but really I love the space and the beers on tap. The bartenders are always so friendly and helpful. I love that this place isn't super crowded on the roof it's a great spot to just day drink and catch up with friends. It's one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. For those bashing the food, eat elsewhere and just come for the drinks and the vibes. Tip: it's a great post brunch spot or a way to kick off your night in the neighborhood.

I've been coming to this place for 3 years now. It's my go to for comfort food after a long weekend, festival, or vacation. Staff is always friendly and playing good vibey music. The oxtail pho, mussels, and spring rolls are a must try!! All very delicious! There's an upstairs patio that has live comedy shows and music on occasions. Def a must stop if you're a local in Williamsburg

Pho + chill + Williamsburg = BIA. This place is everything you'd expect from a Vietnamese spot in Williamsburg: cool, funky, laid-back, and hipster. I don't think I'd take my parents here for Vietnamese food but I sure would take my cousins. FOOD - $10 for a large bowl of pho bo (they ain't on that Dac Biet life yet). Not pricey at all. Not the best pho I've had in NYC but totally fine. I mean, they also take card too so that's great. SPACE - Large, high ceilings, a bit too dark from what I remember. STAFF - Connor and Kate are COOL. Made us feel like friends already. Also, I love that the staff do their thing and let you do your thing so you can just enjoy your company when eating here. SoooOoo yeah. I love pho and I would come back here.

It's nice to have Asian restaurant still open after midnight. After drinking sometime it's good to have a noodle soup that makes me can party longer and feel sober. The place has awesome decoration, hipster, and has rooftop that you can go up and see Williamsburgh bridge. Food here is an Asian fusion. There mix between vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Thai. Overall is ok but isn't so stand out like an authentic restaurant. I had papaya salad and it was totally bland maybe American will like it but people that actually came from their country and know what original food supposed to taste. Maybe will be disappointed. There are so many nice places in Williamsburgh Brooklyn now so i always like to explore more.

I'm not Vietnamese, but this sad excuse of a banh mi is INSULTING. It's overpriced and dry with scant ingredients. Like, get the f- outta here with this bullshit. I've never been so angry at a sandwich before until I unwrapped. $10 for $1 worth of ingredients that took probably less than a minute to assemble. Health rating was a B, go figure. C grade service (I had to stand at the takeaway window for a solid 4min until my presence was acknowledged) and F- for food.

Im pretty sure they changed chefs. The food was terrible. I had the vermicelli noodles - the shrimp was old and gooey and the pork was shriveled and inedible. The shaking beef was suboptimal. So sad. It was once delicious and now... it's just cheap quality and terrible cooking

NYC Vietnamese food is generally not good, unfortunately, and it's really hard to even find a place that does regular pho or pho ga at a decent level. I've actually never been to Bia but used to order delivery all the time. And trust me, the pho here is GOOD. I can only speak on the quality of the pho and pho ga, as I've never ordered anything else. It's also nice that they give you the option of having a more snack-sized portion of pho as well. But yeah, I'm quite surprised this place isn't mentioned much out in these streets. Source: am practically married into a Vietnamese family, and have lived near the two biggest Vietnamese hubs in the US (San Jose and Orange County).

Really huge and open space. Apparently, there's a rooftop bar on top but haven't gone up there since we only went there for food. The portions were very small given the prices compared to other Vietnamese places but I guess it's because it's "different." Definitely hipsterfied. Anyways, the spring rolls were also not the traditional spring rolls you find at traditional Vietnamese places. I was slightly disappointed. The pho was okay, nothing really special. I would come here again if I'm in the area and craving pho but there's much better places elsewhere. Although service was great!

There are a lot of great things about living in this neck of the woods, but good Asian food is typically not one of those great things. I wouldn't call Bia GREAT Vietnamese food, but it's definitely good enough to fulfill my Asian food cravings, which hit me at least once a week. I've gone at all hours of the day and evening during the week and there's never a wait for a seat, especially at the big communal table in the middle of the place. My personal favorite is the bun with BBQ chicken and shrimp spring rolls, but I'd also recommend the pho, oxtail soup (great for a hangover or on a cold day), and the shaking beef (a surprise hit that I never noticed on the menu til recently but really enjoyed). I would not recommend the banh mi, as I found the fillings skimpy and the bread not so fresh - this is something I'd definitely rather go into Chinatown to get. The prices, again, are definitely not the best you'll find for Vietnamese food, which is typically very affordable, but still way less for a hearty meal than a lot of other places in the area. It's cool as a bar, too - beers on tap, full bar, good music, and rooftop access. It's a cool, high-ceilinged space with lots of wood and random knickknacks abound. A reliable source of tasty Asian flavors and, therefore, a go-to for me!

I just ordered takeout from this place. It was inedible!! The papaya salad was fishy. My partner and I both ordered the pork chop--it was completely tasteless and so over cooked that it was tough. We ended up throwing the whole meal out after two bites. It was such a waste.

I was in town for a week and popped into the place. It immediately became my favorite spot! The staff are excellent and made me feel like family from the first day. I'll be back whenever I'm in town. Thanks guys!!!

I read so many bad reviews, but I have no complaints! The bartenders were attentive for the most part. Happy hour is $1 off until 8 PM. The rooftop was full after 6 (came on a Wednesday night) but it was all good feels. If you're looking for a fantastic view, this isn't the place. You're mainly catching a glimpse of the Manhattan bridge. But, still great for the outdoor feel while sipping a beverage. You order your drinks at the bar and bring them to the roof. I'll return.

Came around 8:30 on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. It took the server 10 minutes to give us a menu and another 30 minutes to serve the food. It was just normal Vietnamese dishes, decent/edible flavors, but nothing extraordinary or super authentic. Decent space for hipsters to hang out

This spot is so unassuming from the outside, but its very cool on the inside. It has a grungy garage industrial vibe inside. Dimly lit, moody and with communal tables. I got a mezcal gimlet to drink which was well made and to eat I got the Cari-coconut milk curry with eggplant. It had a harmony of flavors that complemented each other wonderfully, it was creamy, warming, and a delight to slurp down. Afterwards we popped onto the roof for another drink and enjoying the last few warm nights of summer. It's an intimate vibe up there, but with enough space so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of anyone.

This is one of my favorite spots in Williamsburg to hang out, get pho and a beer with friends. Great customer service and awesome vibes !Get the chicken curry soup !

This review is solely based on the soooo good pork chop that I had here the other night. First off, never in my life have I craved or even wanted a pork chop. The people we went with kept talking the whole night about this pork chop and now I know why. This pork chop was DELICIOUS!!!! I want to go back right now and get it. It was so moist and tender. Go! Run now! You're welcome! Oh and ask for double egg on your rice. ;)

Don't trust anyone who says the pho here is good because it was terrible! I love pho and eat it multiple times a week so I'm always on the look-out for a new pho joint to go to and this was not it. The pho felt oily and the noodles were bloated. The soup was lacking in taste. We also ordered a rice dish that was subpar. Service was slow and not very good even though it wasn't busy. A meal for 2 with a simple appetizer and drink cost about $30, so the price is wonderful- too bad the food isn't.

Bia has a lovely & friendly atmosphere, a great beer list, and the best Vietnamese food. Been coming here for 7 years. Moved away from Williamsburg and come back to the neighborhood just for this awesome place.
