Wood-fired pizza, global dishes, sushi, cocktails, family-friendly

"A Chestnut Hill restaurant that is part of an ownership group which received nearly $5 million in Restaurant Revitalization Fund grants across multiple locations; the owners stressed that this aid was critical to keeping established restaurants operating and preserving the many jobs and supplier relationships they support." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"At the Cushman Concepts restaurants O Ya, Hojoko, and Bianca, employees will also remain masked until at least June 15, at which point a decision will be made whether to extend that policy." - Terrence Doyle

"In Chestnut Hill, I found newcomer Bianca offering several different holiday menus — including prime rib, maple ham, and rotisserie chicken — but what grabbed me was the sushi-and-pizza combination ($80), which comes with three sushi rolls and a half-sheet pan pizza provided by Bianca’s takeout pizzeria. Orders for the combo must be placed online by December 27, and pickups are available at Bianca on December 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m." - Terrence Doyle

"Opened at 47 Boylston St. in Chestnut Hill by Tim and Nancy Cushman, Bianca blends Japanese influences (sushi rolls, crispy nori sushi tacos, lobster with dashi fondue) with Roman-style pizza and housemade pasta as standout offerings." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"After months of delay due to COVID-19 closures, I note that Tim and Nancy Cushman's new Chestnut Hill restaurant opened at the Street Chestnut Hill and seeks to be a family-friendly, “cosmic continental” spot meant to “transport you to far off places” — the name Bianca (Italian for “white”) is meant to evoke a clean slate. The opening menu is intentionally streamlined for indoor and outdoor dining as well as takeout and delivery, and it currently includes sushi rolls and the crispy nori sushi tacos carried over from Gogo Ya, wood-fired Roman pizza, rotisserie chicken, house-made pastas, and burgers, with more pizzas, sandwiches, and dishes to be added later. The space was designed with Kaplan Thompson Architects, Whitlock Design Group, and Cafco Construction, and the team includes Cushman Concepts Group executive chef Rob Wong, Bianca chef de cuisine Victor Mazariegos, and O Ya alum Nik Mastelerz overseeing breads and desserts. Bianca offers heaters and umbrellas on the Boylston Street patio, a back patio for Mr. Roni Cups takeout pickup, a private room for events up to 10, and is serving dinner Wednesday through Sunday with weekend brunch planned for later." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
