Restaurant Danyel offers a wonderful ambiance, run with passion by Danyel and his wife Mariska. The cozy, living room-like atmosphere is elevated by their warm welcome and personal touch, making you feel right at home. The Michelin-worthy cuisine, paired with a thoughtfully curated wine arrangement and their genuine joy in hosting, made the evening truly unforgettable. We went last weekend to celebrate our relationship anniversary to restaurant Danyel. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very attentive, starting with Chef Danyel who came frequently to our table to explain the dishes and to know if everything was going well. There is no fixed menu, just just tell the chef at the beginning how many dishes you would like (between 3 and 8) and if you have allergies or food preferences. We opted for fish/seafood options as we dont like meat very much and the 4-course option and everything was exquisite. Danyel worked in the past at some of the best restaurants in France (Paul Bocuse in Lyon and Haeberlin in Alsace) and we felt almost home by eating at his restaurant. A place to recommend.

New Year’s Eve dinner. Great food and many courses! The team was working really hard and remained pleasant and patient throughout the night. I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet dinner date with sophisticated cuisine and romantic ambiance.

Our dining with Danyel was the absolute highlight of our visit to Maastricht. Can't wait to come back.

We had a really good time at Danyel's. Super friendly couple, superb food. Really good value for the price! As far as I understand, the courses differ from table to table. I have no idea how the two of them are doing it. Amazing!

We came to Danyel as part of our first visit to Maastricht. The city offers a lot for culinary experiences, but Danyel caught our eye fast - and it didn’t disappoint. Restauranteurs Danyel and Mariska are kind, inviting and great at their game. Restaurant offers only course based menus, you can choose form 5 to 8 courses - great for sustainability (no waste) and creativity of the chef. We had a umami style salmon sashimi starter salad, followed by a fish based vegetable soup. After came pan seared cod with saffron pumpkin puree and followed by a second main, a picanha with grilled veggies and a fantastic jus. The jewel of the night is the one pictured: homemade chocolate ganache and melon ice cream with salted caramel nut base. What a finish. All of our meals were paired with great wine thanks to Mariska and service and discussion felt like we visited a friend - and other customers were feeling the same. All and all, a great experience overall - and the food is amazing too! We’ll be back for sure :)

Absolutely wonderful food I cannot express fully how wonderful Restaurant Danyel is. We spent a few years in Europe and always found awesome food especially in Maastricht, however we always found ourselves coming back here. Danyel and Mariska are amazing and were so supportive and excited with every question we had with food, Europe, wine and their experiences, they (and the food!) make this place very special. The first time we ate here it was by chance on one of our first dates and the welcome we received along with the food brought us back over and over again. We were happy to find this place before my wife and I got married and proud to show Danyel and Mariska when we got married. A date night here is never wasted. We have recommended this restaurant to our friends many times and they have always come back ecstatic with the same experiences we had. Thank you Danyel and Mariska for your warm kindness and smiles. you really do have something very special.
