"Like finding a tenner in a pair of jeans, a meal at Bibi feels like making the ultimate discovery. On a corner just seconds away from the chaos of Oxford Street, this Indian spot is small but significant. There’s a set menu of incredible dishes, from melt-in-your-mouth orkney scallop in a tangy lemonade dressing, to tender grilled chicken in a cashew and yoghurt whey sauce. We could also gush about the counter seating or the fun mocktails, but you’ll return for the sensational food." - rianne shlebak
"London has an excellent Indian restaurant scene. But Bibi is something special. Every dish at this Mayfair spot is exciting and innovative. The grilled Lahori chicken in a creamy cashew and yoghurt whey sauce might seem like the star of the show, only to have the raw Orkney scallop in lemonade dressing arrive and make you feel things you didn’t think you could feel for a mollusc. The set menus will surprise people who think they’ve tried it all and please literally everyone. When you’re sat in the warm dining room, with arched mirrors, intimate booths, and comfortable counter stools, there’s no way you’ll be able to pick a favourite until you’ve tried everything." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley
"Three or five courses: from £55/£85 The set lunch menus at Indian restaurant Bibi only serve hits. They include things like a grilled Lahori chicken in a cashew and yoghurt whey sauce that is tender and creamy and will invade your dreams. Plus, the compact Mayfair dining room is a lovely place to be. Try and get one of the comfortable maroon four-person booths, surrounded by plants and overlooking the bustling kitchen." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"First thing’s first, Bibi’s buffalo milk paneer is fantastic. Subtle with a layer of hidden chilli underneath. But let’s not beat around the bush here. Bibi make posh Quavers. POSH QUAVERS. Of course, crisps should never be made posh. But when it happens it’s very exciting and, it turns out, also very delicious. Their wookey-hole cheese papads are giant Quavers, after all. Only they come with a herby green sauce to dunk in as well. Take note, Walkers." - rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"“Galouti means something that melts in your mouth, and these sublime, dinky little patties more than live up to the description. My only gripe is that they come three to a serving when I could easily eat a dozen of them. Plus, I could drink the coriander and mint chutney they come with by the pint.” — OJF" - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
