A true gem in Damansara Heights. As a French person, it feels amazing to finally have a proper traditional restaurant like Bidou in the neighborhood. The dishes are unforgettable — the beef Rossini is outstanding, and the pistachio tart is easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. The service is the best I’ve experienced in years: attentive, warm, and extremely knowledgeable. A special mention to the wine by the glass selection, which is excellent and thoughtfully curated. Bidou is elegant, comforting, and genuinely authentic. I’ll definitely be back — often. 🍷✨

I had dinner at Bidou and overall it was a very good experience with solid French cooking and a cozy atmosphere. The warm black olive brioche starter was crispy and delicious with the butter, a great start to the meal. The Pâté en Croûte was my first time trying this classic cold French dish, and while it tasted good and was nicely made, I would probably try something different next time. The chef’s special duck was tender, but the sauce felt a bit overpowering for my taste, though I wouldn’t say the dish was bad. The best part of the night was definitely the Loup de Mer en Croûte which the buttery pastry smelled incredible the moment it arrived, and the fish, scallop mousse, and choron sauce worked perfectly together. Dessert was a simple slice of chocolate cake with plum ice cream, not too heavy and a nice finish. The service was friendly, though it would be even better if the staff explained the dishes more clearly. The environment was great, the food tasted really good, and I felt the price was worth it. I definitely plan to come back and try more dishes next time.

When this popped up on my radar earlier this year, I remember excitedly pinging my makan kakis about it, anticipating the right occasion to check it out. Bearing the name of the only 2-Michelin star chef in the country, expectations were high. Bidou offers a prix fixe menu, but not quite your multi-course tasting menu that most upscale restaurants go with these days. With 3 options for each of the 4 courses (4 for the main course), and a verbally-introduced special for each of the 4 courses, it took us some time to digest and decide what to go with. The dishes were all pretty solid. I'm no French cuisine connoisseur so I can't comment on how good of an homage it is to its respective intended chefs. In hindsight, it was a bit odd that the loup de mer en croûte was made with threadfin instead of seabass. Perhaps technically challenging to execute, but I can't say it was particularly eye-opening, especially with parts of the pastry being a tad too charred. Can't fault the taste of it, but I can only imagine what it would've been like with a meatier seabass, instead of the delicate threadfin. Of the desserts, I'd say the only highlight was the souffle. Wish there was a bit more of a variety, as 3 of the 4 options were pretty chocolate-forward. A few small comments on service - there were only two tables when we were there, and it would've been better if they hadn't seated both our tables in the same corner. The cloth that the wait staff used to clear the table also smelled a bit off. Whether it is "worth it" is entirely subjective, so you'll have to decide for yourself how much having something "traditionally French" is worth. For my money ... hmm ...

Brilliant French cuisine with clever use of bold flavours and ingredients like beef tongue served on potato earphone (loved this). But my favourite was the bouillabaisse that had a punchy briney broth and perfectly cooked seafood. Creamy mussels and scallops, tender salt cos, and a hunk of grouper with crispy skin and delicious flaky meat. Would go back just for this dish. Overall, everything was great from start to finish. Really good bang for your buck.

The magic starts long before you arrive at Bidou. We called half an hour before arriving and the person who attended to us (Remou- sorry if I've spelt this wrong!) was warm and welcoming. The space and ambience is the first thing you notice. The space is so tastefully done, the colours, the decor and the eye for detail in the little things like the wine glasses and plates, is amazing. The service is immaculate, clearly the team love and take pride in what they do. Then there is the food, the portions were generous, the food was so satisfying and delicious, it's like being transported to France for one night. I am truly blown away by Bidou, hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to this year. Truly not to be missed.

We went to Bidou to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and unfortunately, the evening turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve ever had. Service – Absolutely Unprofessional - From the start, the waiter kept second-guessing our choices for the 3-course menu. Each time one of us ordered, he would suggest something else, as if our selections weren’t good enough. - When my friend ordered the threadfin, he pushed the chicken stew instead. When another friend ordered threadfin later, he bizarrely suggested the seafood stew—even though I had already ordered it. It felt intrusive and unnecessary. - He never repeated our orders back to us, which is basic service etiquette. Unsurprisingly, when the mains arrived, my dish was wrong: I was served chicken stew instead of seafood stew. Handling of Mistakes – Shockingly Bad - I flagged the wrong dish immediately, and they took it away. I hadn’t even touched the chicken, only tasted the stew base and a potato. - They admitted the mistake and told me I’d have to wait 30 minutes for the seafood stew. Fine—we agreed, since we weren’t in a rush. - But when the bill came, they claimed that they repeated our orders, that I had “changed my mind” and that there’s a 10-minute grace period for such changes. This was outrageous. The waiter never repeated our orders, and all four of us clearly heard me order seafood stew. - If they truly believed I had ordered chicken stew, why take it away instead of letting me finish it? Charging me for a dish they removed was beyond unprofessional. The Final Insult After we insisted we ordered the seafood stew and they can check their CCTV if they like, their staff bizarrely said, “Ok then I will pay for this…” What does that even mean? It was their mistake, yet they want to make us feel guilty for it? Food – Average at Best - Some entrées were nice and some forgettable. - The seafood stew I eventually received had a metallic aftertaste, likely rushed after the mix-up. - Overall, the food was not terrible, but certainly not worth enduring such poor service. Verdict This was supposed to be a joyful birthday celebration, but the unprofessional handling of orders, dismissive attitude, and absurd treatment ruined the night. We will not return, and we cannot recommend Bidou to anyone. Please train your staff properly—service this bad overshadows everything else.

Bear in mind, this is not french Fine Dining place but rather an authentic french Restaurabt with their Classic dishes. The desserts are so well - made too… if you havw sweet tooth, please order more. Come and try it out for yourself… very Nice ambience as well.

Owned by a Michelin-starred chef, food served is French-inspired with usage of local flavors and ingredients. Enjoyed the food quality and presentation coupled with the excellent service. A place to return to. Perhaps a downside is that the restaurant is above the ground floor and access for some might be challenging.
