All the Restaurant Closings in Austin, May 2025 | Eater Austin

"A Jewish deli that opened in Northwest Hills in 2017 and had operated additional locations has closed following the death of its owner; staff posted a temporary closure notice and a handwritten sign thanking customers, but the business has since been removed from Google Maps and its website is gone, with no further public updates on a return." - Courtney E. Google
Great sandwiches and really good bean salad. We had catering delivered from Beiderman's for a few days on a job. And all I can say is the service was fantastic. The first drop off was really smooth but most importantly the driver wanted us to understand everything that was in the box and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely went above and beyond. All the food was good as expected and would most definitely visit one in town and use again as needed.

Google
Stumbled upon this place by accident....we were looking for a drive thru but couldn't find one so we parked, saw some people eating at a picnic table and asked what was good to eat in the area. The told us they were eating sandwiches from Beidermans and pointed us in the right direction (its down a little alley) Holy DELISH!!!! I havent eaten an entire hoagie in a very long time but it was so good I devoured the entire thing. I ordered the Italian with lettuce, green and red peppers, pickles, onions, banana peppers, mayo, oil and vinegar. There was so much flavor in every single bite and the pickle spear on the side was a happy surprise. My husband had a Buffalo chicken sandwich of some sort. He really enjoyed it also. I wish I didnt live 6 hours from this place because id be a regular! There were lots of house brews on tap. The price was spot on for the quality and quantity of food. Great job Biedermans!!!!

Google
My family and I took the train ride, herd this place was fabulous for the sandwiches. Granted it was Friday it took us 45 minutes to get served 3 sandwiches and 1 salad. I understand they were busy but the bartender was not very friendly didn't check up on us, and the worst part I found a hair in my wrap, it was not mine because it was all tangled in the lettus. We spent about 100$ and I'm not sure I'll be back again.

Google
Love this place! Always make it a point to stop in for a pint and a sandwich! Great, rotating selection of beers on tap and pub atmosphere is perfect!

Google
What a neat spot! Fun German beer hall/authentic deli vibe. Quick service, AMAZING food, fun decor. Menu is massive, both on the sandwiches and beer side. Cute patio out back. Great time all around.

On our way to the White Mountains, traveling from Massachusetts, we stopped at a halfway point for lunch. It's our goto spot located in Plymouth, NH.

Google
Great sandwiches and nice beer selection. Loved the Italian sub. Counter service with selections delivered to your table. Great lunch spot.

Google
Cozy ambiance and great pub & sub shop. Vintage beer cans and old records line the ceiling beams with many different things to visually stimulate you here in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Charlie provided great service. The Chili and Zamboa sub were delicious. The Bloody Mary was so flavorful. Went to the Ice Castles and on the drive back was looking for a charming little town to pop into and found this popped up. Will definitely come back the next time in town.

Yelp
Running errands around Plymouth required a stop at Biederman's , especially since I saw their subs were ranked #1 by WMUR TV (NH station) viewers. The deli is cute inside with a 60's-70's flair/vibe and their food, at least the tuna sub I got was very good and large. Loved the pickles they added and appreciated the napkins in the to go bag. Staff was welcoming even though I was the first client when they opened 11 AM). I need to time my errands around lunchtime going forward Sorry, I forgot to bring my phone in to take a picture.

Yelp
Probably the best spot in Plymouth... Great beer selection delicious sandwiches made to order and homemade soup. Great vibe love checking this place out.

Yelp
Always good. For the last 45 years. Did I just say that? I had a yummy Hefeweizen today. We sat outside. Service was great!

Yelp
This place is amazing. Great deli, great sandwiches. Service was awesome, very friendly and fast. Meatball sub was delicious as well as the turkey sub. Bread is a big part!! Great bread. Place also looks and feels cool. It's a cellar style bar that was also playing Sunday football games. All in all fantastic stop!

Jim A.

Yelp
On a rainy day we decided to visit to have lunch and watch the Red Sox game. We had not been there for several years We guessed that there would be seats at the bar with the students gone We guessed right although there's were many Holderness grads in the crowd We were not surprised to see that the games was not on I was able to flag a young lady down to ask to put the game on Turned out to be the Owner She was more than happy to put the put it on We or ordered beers and sandwiches Rubin and Italian sandwiches were the best we have had in a long time The owner was very nice My only point reduction was the time it took for the food to arrive So if you are not in a hurry the food is worth the wait Great beer selection as well including Guinness 0!!

MJ S.

Yelp
Great subs, atmosphere, beer selection. Best meatball sub I've had, and I'm a bit of a meatball foodie. Delish.

Yelp
Stopped by for sandwiches and beers after a day of skiing! Our friend recommended this spot as a Plymouth State alum and I only wish I had heard about it sooner! I'm a big sandwich fan and was really impressed. Fresh Boars Head meats/cheeses cut to order, fresh bread (even had gluten free options), awesome signature sandwich combinations, large condiment selection, tons of local beers AND bar popcorn! When I saw they had an option to make a sub roll into garlic bread I just had to get it! Really liked our sandwiches and thought they were great value for the quality ingredients. The vibe inside is cool too - lots to look at on the walls and ceiling - above his was a moose head with a beer straw!
google avatar

Gerry L.

Yelp
Fresh made sandwiches. Boarshead meats. Very friendly staff. Also a store, snack items, beer & wine.
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing deli style sandwiches.. we had a group and everyone raved about the grub! Great prices, too.
google avatar

Patti S.

Yelp
Always yummy food. It's been through plenty of changes over the years yet never loses its welcoming spirit.

Yelp
Great sandwiches, great beers and friendly service! The staff made dietary accommodations for us and were wonderful!

Yelp
What a GEM! Love a good 1/2 Sammie 1/2 Soup Pick Combo special! Opted for the Basement Bomber "Balboa style" which means toasted w their garlic butter with a cup of New England and it did not disappoint. Expect a 20 min wait bc greatness takes time. Have a craft beer and enjoy the local chatter & rock and roll ambience. Fell in love with the records in the beans & the old owl watching over the bar. 10/10 would recommend. Keep all the vibes coming Biedrman's! Shout out Kelsey to my bartender who made the my "Balboa style" dreams come true after I gleaned them from a local post order.

Yelp
Came here as a quick pit stop between meeting up with family (ended up in town earlier than expected). Walked in around 11-ish and by noon this place was standing room only and a line at the counter to order food/drinks. I can't judge them on food as we did no eat because of our meeting family for food. But the beer selection was good and I had an "Apple pie-esque" cider that was soooo good, comforting and tasted like the holidays. Considering how packed this place was we will definitely come back to try some of the amazing sounding Sammie's in their menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Great sandwiches for great price! It was around ~$10 for the italian sandwich, and the deli meat was good quality. I thought it was great overall. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon, because there was a Patriots game on. I waited a long time for the sandwich, I think around 20 minutes, which is my only complaint.
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
Biederman's is a classic and has been a fixture of the Plymouth community for close to 50 years! It's definitely one of the top sandwich places in the northern half of New Hampshire. Their Italian and Balboa subs are legendary. It's also a great place to grab a beer.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cute little deli, tucked away in a basement on a side street. Parking was easy as we found a spot on the Main Street. I ordered an Italian, which had plenty of meats, but was short on the veggies. Dining in is an option, we opted to take out. Upon leaving, it was dark around the door, probably an accident waiting to happen as you couldn't see the stairs. I would definitely recommend this deli, the sandwich was good and cashier was friendly.

Michael L.

Yelp
The perfect beer matched with the perfect deli sandwich- Bulletproof combo somehow mastered so rarely until we found this spot. We come up to Plymouth yearly for a hockey tournament and make sure to always stop in at least twice. The warmth and personality of the place are also top notch. Really can't go wrong with any sandwich here and we've probably tried most of 'em.

Thomas B.

Yelp
Solid draft beer selection! Had a Balboa (pick your own meats and cheese). Very enjoyable ambiance and waitstaff! We'll be back!

Miguel V.

Yelp
We had the food to-go. The service was good and they are consistently nice and attentive. The food variety is good for a sub shop and my family and I have had a variety of subs and we enjoy them.

Anna S.

Yelp
Food is awesome. Customer service however is extremely rude, older owners knew how to run a happy fun place, new owners not so much big bummer:(
google avatar

Jerry C.

Yelp
Post hike lunch with 12 hungry hikers and everyone left happy and full. Order at the front- many interesting signature sandwiches or design your own- most under $9. The sandwiches arrived promptly at our table. Special dietary needs were nicely attended. Some nice local beers on tap. The atmosphere is like an old college hangout place with record albums (google this if you're not familiar with it ;-) ) on the overhead beams. Surprised at some of the comments here but our meal was great. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

William R.

Yelp
The order is often not correct. They can't center make a Ruben sandwich properly and it's not hard to do.

Macon A.

Yelp
This place is SO good! I grabbed a red ale the first time and had some chicken pot pie soup with the sandwich on special that night (The Old Man I think). Everything was DELICIOUS! The second time I came in they were out of that red ale but the bartenders suggested a Tuckerman and it was great. I had the tomato basil soup and a Ruben and again, PHENOMENAL food and service! I came back from North Conway tonight and a red ale was available! Everyone of friendly and accommodating here. I'm about to bite into the meatball sub.....DAYUM!
google avatar

Nicole O.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches to go! Worth a visit. (Maps put their location down the road and in the woods. It's right downtown.)
google avatar

Peter D.

Yelp
Great place for lunch, lots of good food options and a full bar with a bunch of great beers available. The sandwiches were all delicious and very affordable for what you're getting. I could see this as a great spot to hang out in the evening or to catch a game. Love the stone and brick walls, too.
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
Great local spot. Good food, great sandwich and coffee. Amazing beer selection though. Only thing I wish they would do is have some sort of inventory list that I could consider before heading in. Standing at the coolers looking up all the beers is a tough. Uptown problems for sure. We'll be back.
google avatar

Maggie R.

Yelp
Ate here for lunch. Had all kinds of snacks and drinks for purchase. We got deli sandwiches (Liverwurst was so good). Bread was good. Meat and cheeses were all boars head brand. Had m and m cookie with our lunch really good as well.

Amy M.

Yelp
The best deli in white mountains. The Zamboa is my favorite - there's also beer on tap and it's just a fun spot for lunch.

Ike F.

Yelp
Nice place with good food and good shopping. Easy to get to. Okay parking on street or around the common.
google avatar

Audrey N.

Yelp
Fantastic sandwiches, helpful team, great beers, and most of all a wonderful atmosphere! The vibe is just right down in the basement, it fits the food perfectly. My only question: why isn't this place more popular?
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
After 15 years of loyalty and two terrible Boa's in a row I writing this post in hopes the owner sees it.... Train your employees! Train them how to properly make subs! Why are they spreading raw garlic and butter under the meat and cheese and not on the open faced side while roasting? It doesn't cook and you eat unmelted butter and raw garlic yummmmmmmm, not. Let's go, you're better then this

Evan Z.

Yelp
Great environment great sandwiches great beers. I got the legend sandwich it was delicious with the onion bun and a beer that was delicious

Brian C.

Yelp
Stopped by yesterday, sure not the same portions of the past. Fairly high prices are fine, but when I get a pastrami sandwich and there is barely meat in it, not good. The sandwich was also served cold, I have never had to ask for pastrami to be warm anywhere else. They need to visit other sandwich shops. Was my last trip.

Yelp
This deli is great. My husband and I shared a zamboa which with a bag of chips was plenty of food. Maybe because we are from the DC area, we didn't find it expensive- a sandwich big enough for two, chips, and two NA drinks were $15. Also served quickly though they were busy. Will definitely go back when we are in the area. FYI, meter parking but it was 25 cents for an hour - so cheap!

Jason M.

Yelp
Some of the best sandwiches i've ever had. A great place to go anytime of day. I highly recommend asking for a chicken parm sub.

Benjamin W.

Yelp
Having heard good things about Biederman's Deli, I was excited to try. Ambiance, design of the restaurant and upstairs market were nice. Seems like a cool place to get a beer. I really wasn't impressed with the sandwich my wife or I had. They were Ok, but nothing special. It seemed like they don't know how to handle the level of business they had. I was told a 45 minute wait for a sandwich. This was regardless of a call in or walk in. So I placed my order via phone, asked for a couple toasted sandwiches and I showed up 40 minutes later. Neither sandwich was warm, both were slightly soggy, as if they were ready much earlier then we were informed. I suppose for a college hang out, its great, but the food and more importantly the service could be better.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
I always manage to get a sub from here while in town...because it's amazing every time! I usually go for a cellar dweller, but mix it up with turkey breast and pepper jack cheese instead of the chicken and cheddar. Visited over the new year weekend and the service was smooth, ordered ahead, acknowledged the 30 min wait, and picked up the subs. Deli meat tastes fresh, and all their sub combos seem delicious. Solid sub place in Plymouth

Rhino M.

Yelp
Everything you want from a sandwich joint plus great beer on tap and a cool environment to eat it in.
google avatar

Krista S.

Yelp
My favorite place in Plymouth! I have been going here for over 20 years with my family and Biederman's is always a must. The basement bomber is mine and my mom's favorite while my husband likes the old man. It is always an excellent sandwich with awesome bread and an amazing combination of cold cuts and veggies.
google avatar

Tanner C.

Yelp
Where was my pickle spear? Please remember my pickle next time. Otherwise, it's a great spot in downtown Plymouth after driving a 12er of Rolling Rocks. That's been my favorite beer since ''72. Would suggest their Cellar Dweller sub.
google avatar

C S.

Yelp
Expensive. Staff disorganized. Deli food is mediocre and way overpriced. Would never go back there
google avatar

Eric W.

Yelp
25 minutes wait for a vegetarian sandwich... I love you guys, but this is silly. Please tighten up do you ordering process. After 25 years experience, I have a good idea of what the inside of Biederman's usually is like. My order was terrible as well. They added some strange salad dressing to my veggie sandwich. Maybe this is why my sandwich took too long
google avatar

Kayleigh J.

Yelp
When I went to school at Plymouth State, Biederman's was my best friend! Bad day? Easy! Solved with Biederman's. Good day? Woohoo, celebrate with Biederman's! I celebrated my birthday there, celebrated good grades, and killed time there. Sandwiches are delicious, you honestly can't go wrong.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
First visit here on a Fall weekday. We came to order sandwiches for lunch. Two orders in front of ours, the place was about half full. Our orders took 15 minutes to receive. Deli orders are a la carte, sandwiches are just that, a sandwich. I ordered the old man, a chicken breast, prosciutto, and mozzarella sandwich on a baguette. I ordered mine toasted. It was a good sandwich, crunchy toasted bread, flavorful fillings. Oh, and there is a bar. But we didn't imbibe on this visit. Seemed to be a college student hangout since its so close to Plymouth State.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
My friend pulled a rubber band out of her sandwich one time but I've never had a problem here
google avatar

Ruth-Anne C.

Yelp
I ordered 22 box sandwiches for our hockey team. The staff was so helpful - from the ordering process right up to helping me load my car!! In addition to this I got the "Old Man" for myself, and I was not disappointed!! The boys loved the sandwiches, thank you!
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
Every time I am in Plymouth I have to stop at Biederman's for a Balboa sandwich, consistently the best sandwich in the world.
google avatar

Melinda B.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a sandwich while in town for work. The place had just opened so I was the only one there but I could immediately tell it's definitely a cool spot. I ordered the pub pile high with turkey and roast beef, it hit the spot. The staff was friendly, attentive and they even ran my belongings out to me because I walked off with out my wallet and my drink. Neat place, should probably try it again in the evening, they have an interesting beer selection.
google avatar

Ruth B.

Yelp
Went here on a recommendation. I ordered the cave (can't remember the exact name) toasted on a sub roll. The roll was kind of stale and my sandwich wasn't toasted. My sandwich didn't really have much flavor. They were stingy with the cucumbers and the tomatoes looked yucky. I know it's not the season for tomatoes, but still they didn't look appetizing. To add to my disappointing sandwich I found a hair which I don't know how but looked like it was a dog hair. I am giving it two stars because the staff was friendly, the place smelled like yummy food when you walked in, and the dining area looked nice. But will definitively never be back. Everrrrrr
