Such a fun food tour and I’ve been on plenty so I know a good one when I’m on one ;) Our guide was awesome! Beyond the food stops, she took us to a park, a special church, and a hotel with a secret! Food stops were good, the last food stop had a surprise waiting. You’ll walk for about 15 minutes after the first stop to your second destination, so grab a to go drink from the bar! This was a truly awesome experience filled with history, good food, and a few unexpected moments! All walking is on level ground, no stairs, dress according to weather and take lots of pics! We plan to bring our adult daughters back to check this out!

Five Stars! A Must-Do in Mobile! We had a wonderful three hours on the Bienville Bites Food Tour with our guide, Lee Hank. He was the epitome of a Southern gentleman—warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about his hometown of Mobile and its food scene. My husband and I brought our 2-month-old son along with my brother-in-law visiting from Alaska, and Lee couldn’t have been more accommodating. He made an intentional effort to connect personally with every member of the tour group, striking a thoughtful balance between sharing fascinating facts and letting natural conversation flow among a mixed party of travelers. The tour itself was a perfect mix of tasty bites, refreshing cocktails, historic insights, and personal stories that made the city come alive. We appreciated the balance between walking outdoors and enjoying breaks in air-conditioned spots—it was well-paced and very comfortable. Without giving too much away—there are some great surprises!—we left feeling full, happy, and more connected to the area. We even joked that we now have a friend in Mobile we can reach out to for advice when we return. Our only regret is not doing the tour at the beginning of our trip instead of the end!

Google
What a delightful afternoon! Our guide Bella was absolutely perfect for our small group of 4 curious souls. She knew the answers to all our questions while providing us with Mobile's fascinating history. Reviews that say the food is delicious and abundant aren't kidding! Whew! Couldn't come close to eating it all. Bella was great at packing leftovers for us to take home. We live an hour away and are always looking for fun ways to entertain our out of town guests. This will definitely be on our list. A huge thank you to a genuinely nice person, Bella. We'll see you again!

Today we had a great afternoon experiencing the best parts of mobile with our tour guide Cynthia. Some of my favorite highlights were having several oysters @ Wintzell’s & finding out we have a great shop like The Three Georges. I would recommend getting a taste of mobile with Bienville Bites

Yelp
Date night with Chef Tony Reynolds‍ Mesquite Smoked & Braised short rib over cheesy mozzarella polenta paired with a charcuterie and an Alabama mule. The presentation was great, it was on the rooftop of the battlehouse and we got to see the presidential suite. Definitely recommend Bienville Bites Food Tours!

Yelp
This is by far one of the best food tours I have ever participated in . The food , sights , history of Mobile , our guides Catherine and Cynthia were all top notch . Chris and his team gave us some "TLC " as we had weather issues to deal with as my 82 year old mom was with me . The customer service from the first time I spoke with Chris on the phone to schedule until the end of the tour was amazing . 10 out 10 on everything from this experience! Lisa G .

Yelp
Catherine Sprinkle was an AMAZING tour guide! So helpful, and did things to help the tour go smoothly without you even realizing it. She also had a super upbeat and funny way to tell the history that made it not only intriguing, but entertaining. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this to others and even purchase it as a gift for people.

Yelp
What are you waiting for? Date night, foodie night, any night-- the Bienville Bites Food Tour is one of the best things to do in Mobile. And because I am food obsessed, I am going to go ahead and put it atop my "best things to do in Mobile" list! At this point, I've been on the Loda Stroll and the Old Mobile evening tour (w/ the cocktail add-on) with Chris as my fearless leader, and neither will disappoint. So many great, local restaurants, so many steps on my FitBit, so many check ins, and so much fun and history covered in 3hrs. Y'all, the Bienville Bites Food Tour is not to be missed and I cannot wait for them to add more! #BienvilleBitesFoodTourOrBUST

Yelp
This was one of the best food tours I have ever been on. It was the right amount of savory and sweet items and an amazing wealth of knowledge about Mobile as well. Chris was a great tour guy use and every stop was amazing was since each stop knew him. We were able to get an amazing sampling at each stop so never felt too full and sluggish. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This was my first walking food tour and it was absolutely fantastic; it exceeded my expectations leaps and bounds. I learned so much about Mobile's rich history, little known contributions and the cuisine was exceptional. Our tour specialist, Chris took outstanding care of us and he made it extra special as well. Chris was gracious and an expert; he was unfazed about how clueless we were about the interaction. He actually seemed to embrace it. The weather was perfect for this experience. Chris must have consulted the almanac or something because it could not have been a better evening for this event. We were a diverse group of perfect strangers at the beginning of the tour not really knowing what to expect; by the end of the tour we were embracing each other saying our good-byes like ole long-time friends.

Yelp
Awesome tour! Isabelle our tour guide was great. Great variety of restaurants and food was delicious. I plan on going back for another tour soon.

Yelp
We were down in Mississippi from Iowa for a winter visit and decided to see Mobile, AL. The walking tour was very interesting and Lee our guide was very knowledgeable on the buildings and architecture of the downtown area. I especially liked the Vancleave building. The food was very good. There was one place that only gave a nut cup and one that gave a candy praline. It seemed like a slight under performance but by the time you have the oysters and the barbeque you will be glad there were a couple places that didnt stuff you. You will not be hungry when the tour is over. I strongly encourage this trip and it is a delightful way to see historic downtown Mobile. On a side note, I dont like oysters so Lee made sure I got the extra wings at the barbeque place.

Yelp
This is an awesome tour! Even if you're a local it's a must do! There is a good amount of walking but it's broken up by lots of great food and drinks. The history information is a bonus. I will absolutely do it again!!!

Yelp
Had a really fun time on the tour. Seeing the sights of Mobile was great. Never knew the place had so much history. The food was also really good at every single stop!

Yelp
We had a wonderful on the Bites and Frights food tour. If you're visiting Mobile, this would be a wonderful activity to do! Our guides were very informative and it was so fun to try so many different local spots! I highly recommend this excursion!

Yelp
I am so excited Chris has brought this type of experience to Mobile! Mobile has so much culture and food is integral in telling that story, ESPECIALLY in the South. Chris did a great job of telling the story of Mobile and including our most famous restaurants (and some newcomers) in it. I grew up in Mobile but moved away for college and further for adulthood. From afar, I've watched Mobile change for the better. This is one of those things that I am so happy exists! It's so nice being able to taste a bunch of new restaurants and be reminded of Mobilian charm. I will have to say that Tasha at Three Georges was the highlight of my trip. She is so much fun, and the pralines are so yummy! I cannot recommend this enough to the people OF Mobile, and to ANY visitor. Out of our group of seven, only one wasn't a local, my boyfriend. So don't think it's a tourist-only thing! This was a blast! Thank you Chris for starting this tour!

Yelp
Such a fantastic tour! I've not been to Mobile before, but this sure was a great way to stroll around and learn about the city. Last but not least, the food was so good!

Yelp
This was a fun thing to do when in Mobile. Good food sampling and some fun characters. Tasha at the Three Georges candy shop is very entertaining while making pralines. The Gumbo to start was excellent at The Royal Scam, then a quick tour of some city landmarks on our way to Panini Pete's. The Panini samples were special and the beignets were a real treat. Then on to the A&M Peanut Shop that also has some good chocolates, after passing by a city park having an Easter egg hunt. After that the Three Georges ice cream and candy shop - with the very entertaining demonstration by Tasha. On we went to Heroes to taste some excellent spinach and Crawfish dip and beer. Lastly, we tasted several kinds of baked oysters and had the opportunity to try raw ones, but I passed. If you are new to Mobile, you should do this!!

Yelp
Went during Halloween tours and the tour guide was great and informative. Although I've lived here my whole life, I've never really been in downtown much so walking around hearing all of the stories was great. The food on the other hand definitely wasn't what I was hoping for. Very tiny portions and I don't drink alcohol so I didn't participate in the cocktails. For the price of the ticket, I guess I expected more to taste. Looking at others pics, they definitely had more than our group was served so maybe it's just hit and miss. The people were nice but I had to go get dinner afterward because I was definitely not filled up and none of the food was anything special. Great idea but probably wouldn't pay that much again for a ticket.

Yelp
Excellent food and entertaining history! They easily accommodated our group of 35! Fun friendly tour guides that really went with the flow and let the group flow for some team camaraderie! Highly recommend trying this even if you're a mobile native!! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The Bienville Bites Food tour was a great experience. Chris was awesome and the information he shared was great. Only disappointment was that some of the restaurants did not seem appreciative of the tour and were not set up for the group. They didn't help Chris out at all! Disappointing. But Chris did a great job! I would definitely recommend this tour! I just hope that the restaurants start working with you ( like Winztell's) and appreciate the value of the tour groups.

Yelp
Fun and interesting your of downtown. Fabulous good! Great personalities along the way!

Yelp
My wife and I made the trip from Pensacola to go on this tour. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about Mobile's food and history. She made it very interesting by including lots of historical tidbits about the city as we walked around. We stopped at several restaurants in downtown plus the one of a kind peanut shop and Three George's candy shop (you will have to take the tour). We had everything from seafood gumbo to oysters to white Alabama BBQ. This is a fantastic food tour and a must if you are interested in the Gulf Coast. The gulf coast's culture and food are inseparable. From New Orleans to the big bend of florida this food is unique and you might learn a few things along the way. Did you know that seafood gumbo was first served in Mobile, and Mardi Gras was started there as well? I did not either. I we learned it on the tour! Mobile I salute you! You are humble in the knowledge that Louisiana stole your ideas and like a true southerner you just raise your hat, and your glass to your neighbors to the west, and say to them Laissez les bons temps rouler! -B-

Yelp
My husband and I had such great time on this tour and can say that it was the highlight of our Mobile, AL trip. Chris is very knowledgeable and has put a lot of thought into the each and every second of the customer experience during the food tour. Definitely sign up for this food tour if you are in Mobile. You will not regret it. Chris delivers an authentic experience and there is never a dull moment. The time frame for the Saturday three hour tour was a perfect time frame.

Yelp
My daughters and I enjoyed the tour today. We are locals to Mobile but we learned some history we did not know. And enjoyed food at restaurants we had not been too. However, we will be back! Well worth the cost. We will do the evening tour later in year when it's cooler. Highly recommend

Yelp
Food tours are my thing when I travel so they are not new to me. Most are good but some are bad so I'm always skeptical. Well, this one was Excellent!! It was HOT but it's July and I'm a local so I was prepared. If you do this tour in the summer, rest assured you will never be without water. We tasted food from 7 local popular restaurants and landmarks along with getting a historical tour of downtown as we walked to our next destination. All I have to say is the food was plentiful!!! I was beyond stuffed and I couldn't eat all that was offered. You definitely get your money's worth. Laney, our guide was super cool and very knowledgeable. My friends and I are already planning our next tour! I highly recommend Bienville Bites! You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I brought my mother & sister on this tour when they came to visit for Mardi Gras. We did the Food & Floats Tour and had such a blast. Our tour guide, Chris, was knowledgeable and hospitable. The food & drink were delicious! We had such a blast and will definitely do it again!

Yelp
I spent my Friday afternoon on a food tour of downtown Mobile and loved it. From gumbo to divinity and beyond not a moment of this experience was a waste of time. I loved the walking and spurts of history enroute to tastings along the way. The hospitality the restaurants and shops showed us along the way made me eager to revisit each and everyone again. Thank you for a fantastic outing!

Kelly D.

Yelp
Had a great time today with work friends on the tour! Each place we stopped had great food. Even though I was born in Mobile and teach Alabama History, Hayley managed to teach me a lot about my city that I've never heard before.

Donna S.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this walking food tour, Floats & Food, in downtown Mobile. It started at the historic Hallett House and made 4 restaurant stops. First we had raw oysters and other oyster dishes, as well as dragon drinks, at Wintzell's. Our guide Chris gave us historical information at each stop and a few other places along the way. Next we had a rib and 2 wings at Moe's, then craft beer at Old Majestic Brewery and a portion of a Reuben from The Cheese Cottage. Our last stop was at O'Daly's Irish Pub where we had strawberry froze', a slice of pizza and a beignet. We ended with Pollman's king cake and other treats back at the Hallett House just as a Mardi Gras parade was starting. We received a bag to hold our parade throws and only had to wait a few minutes until the parade reached us. It was a super fun experience. My only advice would be to include even more historical info along the way.

Josh C.

Yelp
Lots of fun! My wife and I had a great time on the tour. We learned some really unique things about Mobile that I never knew as well as tasting several amazing dishes from seven restaurants downtown. We look forward to going again.

Courtney D.

Yelp
GREAT TOUR! Lots of delicious food all while touring and learning the history of Mobile! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND to anyone in the Mobile area!

Brittany A.

Yelp
So much fun!! I've lived in Mobile my whole life and this tour is exactly what the city needs! I had so much fun exploring new places to eat (I loved the gumbo at Bob's diner) and I actually learned a few things as well! No matter if you're a local or visitor of Mobile you will have a great time! Chris is the best tour guide!
