This is a super cool and fun place to have some amazing barbecue. There are so many great choices on the menu it can be tough to decide but the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff can walk you through all the different options. I had the backwoods tots basket with 12 hour smoked beef brisket and it was hands down the best brisket I have ever had. Two people could easily split it. The atmosphere of this place is really neat with the outdoor setting. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be visiting again.

Google
Adorable counter service stop. The menu is a rotating choice of available sausages, smoked sausages and brats along with a small handful of standards. I had the curry kielbasa, which was outstanding. Onion rings which were crisp and tasty and potato salad. A few reviews complained about the price, while it was pricey, you are paying for Quality! Their condiment bar was also great, fresh and clean. Outdoor patio area with Plenty of seating, and even indoor seating in the house next door. In addition, they have a little grocery for fresh meats and more. I will be returning to this spot for sure.

Google
The perfect combination of craft beer and craft food. Great with pets, great with kids, great for a date night, great for a little solo piece and quiet. It like being invited to a bbq at a neighbors house, if you live next door to the coolest neighbor ever!

Google
Great food and friendly guys that take orders and cook food. lots of seating area outside again food is great and pretty big amount of it. maybe need a dedicated area for ppl that already got food and just want another beer and nor wait in line but otherwise, i loved it.

Google
A wonderland of awesome food. Came in for the Backwoods sandwich with brisket and it was amazing. Went back the very next day for the same sandwich plus a handful of other items. Had a great beer while we waited for things to be prepared. One of my favorite places now - wish there was one in TN!

Google
We enjoyed our first visit ever here today. It was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. We ordered a pretzel, a brisket burger, a pulled pork sandwich, and two root beers and a root beer float. 10/10 for everything. The gentleman that helped us was so polite and helpful, we told him it was our first time visiting and he gave us a nice rundown of how they operate business there. We got a pager and went outside and waited at our table for our food. We’re just beyond impressed overall with our entire experience. Yes it was a pretty penny for our meal but it was well beyond worth every penny. The portion size of each item ordered was well beyond expectation, the sandwiches themselves probably had enough meat for two sandwiches elsewhere! Our drinks were filled to the very top. I’m just so pleasantly pleased with our experience. Their outdoor dining area is very welcoming and comfortable. We sure will be back in the future, and we’ll be bringing friends!

Google
Very interesting place with great beer and meats. We found out that Ricewood was out of most meats on Saturday and decided to try out BBQ in this place. As an asian, I was worried that the food might be too greasy like regular bar food judging by the menu, but this place really had fresh (farm to table), tasty yet non-greasy food. We ordered brisket sandwich, Chicago dog, a bratwurst without bun, tater tots, hickory smoked jerky and two IPAs. The brisket sandwich was quite nice. And if you prefer a light taste, I would suggest asking for bbq sauce on the side (the combo of brisket and pickles were flavorful enough for me). The hot dog was also very good. I especially liked the self-serve hot dog topping/sauce bar, which was fun. I also liked the limited selection of beers: there is only one "IPA" and I did not need to think about which IPA to order! Tater tots were surprisingly tasty yet light instead of greasy. Hickory smoked jerky was the best jerky I have had: not salty and very fresh. The atmosphere was unique. There was no "restaurant". You order at the counter (be aware of long lines at Saturday night), and choose to sit outside, outside in a covered space or in an old-fashioned small house (cute but a there was a weird smell inside). I preferred the covered space but it could be crowded in peak times. Overall, a hidden gem and I would recommend beer & meat lovers to try!

Google
It was so beautiful outside, perfect weather to eat! So many options for seating, either shaded or in the sun. Service was impeccable and food came out within a few minutes. A variety of toppings and sauces to put on the side. They also had jars of freshly made pickles, pickled eggs, and other mason jar filled goodies for sale along with some meat products. 10/10 experience! Will be coming back in the future!🌸

Yelp
Exceptional. Everything here is delicious, and when the weather is nice, it's great to sit out on the patio with a brat and beer (or root beer!). I've tried their pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, both super tasty, but I love getting a brat the most just because the toppings bar is so fun and there are so many brat/sausage options! I would definitely describe this spot as artisanal. I've also enjoyed the tots and slaw sides. Don't forget to grab some stuff to go also. I have loved bringing home prepared meats, yummy sauerkraut, and tasty banana pudding. Parking on site!

Yelp
I cannot believe it's taken us so long to go to Biercamp. It's an overlap of so many things our family loves: meat, beer, patio dining, and a toppings bar. They have a really unique selection of smoked meats or sausages. I had their green chile bratwurst, but there were about four other options I thought sounded amazing. Once your order is ready, they have a sprawl of sauces, peppers, relishes, etc to adorn your meal. I liked the simplicity of the meat on its own, but we were able to give our tater tot pile some pizazz. Their beer was also really solid. We lucked out with a gorgeous day, so we had a great time dining outside. Despite it being April, I ordered a summer ale to complete a really stellar meal. We'll be back!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing restaurant and brewery. Food is amazing and the bbq and brisket is excellent. Service attentive and friendly. Ambiance is comfortable either outside at picnic tables or by the fire, or in their house next door turned into dining area. They have a tasty selection of their own craft beer as well. They also have a general store where they sell all sorts of meats made in house, as well as jarred foods such as pickles, salsas, etc. This is a must visit. You will not go away hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch. The cherry jalapeño bratwurst sandwich was awesome. Washed it down with an IPA...which had a classic flavor profile. Sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Everything was perfect. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
My, how Biercamp has grown over the past few years. Really leaning into the "camp" part of their identity, they now offer a winter campfire surrounded by sawed-log stools. Something magical about sitting around a fire on a crisp winter day enjoying smoked meat sandwiches and beer. For tenderfoots, Biercamp has purchased the red house next door, providing more heated indoor seating. If you're in between, the screened and heated picnic tables in front of the restaurant might be for you. What hasn't changed is the variety of tasty and creative house-made sausages. If curry kielbasa isn't for you, there's always the apple and cheddar. Family friendly place for the kids to get a hot dog while their parents enjoy a beer.

Yelp
Delicious food and great outdoor areas with tables to bring the food after purchasing. They specialize in BBQ brisket and pork as well as bratwurst of many varieties. All super tasty. And many sausages as well. They also have a range of fresh jerky to go. These are my husband's favorites. Definitely quality in taste of the meat and food is five star. In the category of you get what you pay for... It's also super pricey. A tiny little thing (a few ounces) of beef jerky double digits $$$. Everything is pricy. But overall worth it -- especially to my husband. If he's happy, I'm happy. But he does often put it on an alternate credit card so I don't see the charges. Smart move.

Yelp
Recently brought some friends here for the first time. It was a perfect, bright, sunny fall day. What a great day to sit outside under the heat lamps and enjoy some delicious comfort food. I can't come here and not order the tots basket. They are both great, one with chili and one with pulled pork. Truthfully I like the pulled pork one just a bit more. The sandwiches and sausage, hot dogs and brats are all great. After you eat you will need to go back into the store and do some shopping. Grab some sausages or brats to take home, don't forget the delicious jerky pate or some of the meat sticks.

Yelp
Biercamp has been on our "to try" list since we moved to Ann Arbor back in 2019 and we finally got around to trying it! I've had some of their brats at home from Vestergaard Farms as they partner and use their meats, but it was our first time at the storefront. We ordered: *BRAT BURGER $13 (A BRATWURST BURGER PATTY, SERVED ON A GRILLED BRIOCHE BUN W/LETTUCE, ONION, TOMATO, PICKLE & CHEESE) - they usually have a couple different types of brat burgers but they were out of the one I wanted so I got to the Philly Cheesesteak Brat burger. It was super cheesy and yummy! *CHILI CHEESE TOTS (our crispy tater tots topped with our homemade chili, shredded cheese, scallions, sour cream & pickled jalapenos) - Their chili is AWESOME and it's delish on some deep fried tots. It gets soggy so we had no choice but to eat it all right there and then. Ha whereas I took home half my burger and it was still delish the next day! *SOFT PRETZEL - This pretzel was BOMB. Happy to have found a good pretzel spot when it's not football season (usually I love the m-shaped ones at the big house!) *6HR PULLED PORK SANDWICH (our house-made, slow smoked pulled pork, bbq sauce, sliced pickles & onions on a brioche bun) - this was my husband's order and he ate it all! I had a bite and the BBQ sauce was just a smidge on the sweet side for me but it was still very tasty but I enjoyed my savory, cheesy brat burger more. We also had some of their house beer, which paired so well with our feast! It used to be made on-site but it sounds like it no longer is as they ran out of room. They have ample outdoor seating and I can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy!

Yelp
My first visit after trying three other times! It's counter service with outdoor seating available. I tried the Classic brat, Chicago style and a lamb brat with Swiss cheese along with the cole slaw. They also have meats available for sale on display. The restaurant is clean and the staff hustles! I absolutely loved my meal and will be back. It's a little pricey but well worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Great tasting and generously portioned sandwiches. Had the 12 hour beef brisket sandwich which in it was their house made pickles and sauce, and thinly sliced onions on a large, toasted brioche bun. Fantastic sandwich! Forgot to take pictures of the sandwiches, will next time. Their pickles are delicious on their own too. The side of loaded tater tots were equally as good with the brisket chili, cheese, sour cream, etc and more than enough for 2 people. Food was served fast, brought to our table. Wry friendly staff. Seating is outdoor in a large, comfortably heated tent with lots of nice picnic tables and wrought iron tables/chairs. Looks like this will be great place to visit when the weather warms up. In addition to serving sandwiches, hot dogs, sides, and beer on tap, this place is also a store which sells their own butchered meats, smoked meats, incl wagyu, in-house made sausages (many varieties including vegetarian) and different types of cheeses. They also have in-house made jams, sauces, rubs, spices, and smoked nuts which we really liked. You could build a really great charcuterie board just from the items they sell. I assume they had deli meats somewhere but wasn't looking for them. There's lots of items in the store that we didn't get a chance to explore but given the great food they serve more than likely everything else is good also. Everything is priced fairly, especially the served food which is more than worth it.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited here when meeting with friends in Ann Arbor. Great cozy environment and even better food! We ordered the backwoods tots, green chili queso brat, and the venison chorizo queso. Everything exceeded my expectations and was packed with flavor. Good selection of beer as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Best brisket EVER!!!! Family friendly with friendly service and awesome beer. A great place to pick up high quality meats, too. Oh and they have root beer shakes!
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I traveled to Ann Arbor I would see Biercamp on the way back home and regret not checking it out. No regrets today as I stopped in for lunch. I had a jalapeño cheddar brat and some tots. I was also impressed with their Citra Imperial IPA. Huge patio and plenty of parking too.
google avatar

Alison M.

Yelp
Vibes were a great place to go with kids. Sausages were delish with an awesome toppings bar. Would love to go back next time we are in Ann Arbor.

Dan G.

Yelp
The backwoods tots are off the hinges, SOOOO GOOOOOOD!! Lines not usually too long and food comes up hot and fresh in a reasonable amount of time. Both the Oreo and Banana pudding make great desert or you can go for some beer if that's the vibe you're looking for. Patio and inside seating are super chill.

Yelp
fahgeddabouitit. you need to it here, 'nuff sed. came across this spot lookin' to get new ink while visiting M campus. I enjoyed an excellent brisket sammie with a wonderful bbq sauce on a very tasty bun, side of a well balanced fresh slaw and washed down and enjoyed an equally delicious lager. I delighted in their the menu very much and had I had the time, 1 of everything would've been what I rolled with. There is a small well stocked sides bar that you can enjoy adds on from. The inside area also boasts a bevy of in house made meats, jerky, sausages and a whole lotta yummy deliciousness. The outdoor space is well utilized with a very relaxed array of seated dining options - I would tail gate here all season long, each season, for what ever reason I could muster. I heartily look forward to coming back.

Yelp
I've driven by this place many times, but never stopped in as I thought it was just a brewery. I just recently looked it up on yelp to see what food they serve, and to my surprise, they serve what I've been looking for since I moved back to Michigan from Texas. I've been dying for a Terry Blacks brisket sandwich, and I finally found one similar!! The flavor of the bbq sauce and the meat are great, the only complaint is it was a little tough and I wish it was shredded more. I'm already wanting to go back for another one. My boyfriend had a classic bratwurst, philly cheesesteak bratwurst, and a chicago dog. He didn't care for the chicago dog, and he said the classic bratwurst was okay but would be better if he topped it differently. His favorite was the philly cheesesteak, and he said he would go back for that. He also wants to try some of the other varieties as well. We will skip the chili cheese tots next time. I'm not a huge tater tot fan to begin with, but there was just too much sour cream on ours. If you like tater tots though, you might like these. The outside area reminds me of a place you'd eat at in Texas. The only thing missing was music! Overall, we are so happy we found this place to add to our rotation and I can't wait to bring some of my family here to try.

Yelp
If you're in Ann Arbor, this is a must stop...Very quaint and small but full of unique smoked meats / hand jarred pickles and dips, which such a variety. Outdoor seating for eating and a small interior seating near the front windows. It's everything a small but one of a kind butcher should be..They even serve beer...WHAT?!! Stop in. You won't regret it. Right next to downtown...
google avatar

Bart C.

Yelp
Service was prompt and the brisket did not disappoint! Tap root beer a nice compliment to the meal. They have a wide variety of packed fresh meats that are worthy of trying out.
google avatar

Matt F.

Yelp
Even if it was just the best beef jerky it would deserve 5 stars. But everything they make is of the highest quality. I also recommend the sausage (all kinds) and steamship round sandwich. It's well worth a 40-minute drive just for the jerky. It's tough to leave Ann Arbor without a stop, even after a football game.

Joe C.

Yelp
Freaking great smoked meats. Brisket sandwich was pretty much perfection. Wow, wished I found this place earlier. A few seats inside, lots of seats outside - a few tables outside under heaters. Looking forward to our next visit!
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Family owned business you NEED to go support!! Delicious brats and tots!! Everything here is delicious! They have a heated outdoor seating area and a fire pit! It's a hidden gem right outside downtown! You won't be disappointed! Will be back for sure next time we visit Ann Arbor!
google avatar

Annette J.

Yelp
It had been a while since we visited Biercamp but when a friend asked for recommendation on good encased meats in the area it got me craving them! We got some stuff to go for dinner the next night and some house prepared sandwiches for dinner that evening. Everything was just as good as I remembered! My husband went for the brisket sandwich while I excitedly opted for the pulled pork. It was so delicious! Smoky, tangy from the BBQ sauce and a nice sour crunch from the pickles. I forgot how good it could be. But I won't make that mistake again. I also got a side of the tots and OMG. They were SO good. Crispy, salty, and starchy. I ate them all to the point of discomfort. To go we got some of their kobe beef and cheddar hot dogs and some buns. We slapped them on our grill and served them up with a side of chips and a good root beer and it was the ultimate summer dinner!
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
Dude... eat here. This place rocks my socks off. If you're missing the smell of hickory smoked meat and charred pork edges, look no further. When you visit this establishment, take the time to investigate the plethora of products they have to offer... kid in a candy shop type vibes (at least for me). My go to: *16 oz crisp citra ipa *Anything from the menu *Bread and butter pickles (freakin amazing + celery makes a difference) *Pimento cheese (which I snack on with a HOT OUT THE OVEN soft pretzel) The staff are some of the nicest and most down to earth people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do :)
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
This place is heaven...as someone from Wisconsin, I don't take brats lightly but man oh man these brats are insane. So many fun varieties and they all taste amazing. The price is super reasonable for the high quality food and the quantity of it. I also love the atmosphere, it really feels like your at camp up north. Don't miss out on their homemade beer either! The lager was solid and went well with my brat.
google avatar

Connor A.

Yelp
Amazing dogs, brats, and beer at a great price. Authentic German experience in Ann Arbor! The interior has great decor and feels like a little German meat market. Love this place for lunch or before a Michigan football game!
google avatar

Kim K.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch. Got Steamship around MDC sandwich and small root beer. The bun was good bread, toasted slightly black. Lots and lots of big chunks of tasty brisket with plenty of pickles and just the right amount of horserafish sauce (which was quite mild) led to an overall pleasant experience. The plac doubled as a specialty grocery store with meats and jerky of various types. The root beer is fine (not too sweet and a bit weak). They also sell their own alcoholic beer in growlers.
google avatar

Bronwyn E.

Yelp
Best soft pretzel ever!! Ali loved all the toppings for the hotdogs and brats available. The fridge section of meats and cheeses is excellent for take home items. Large outdoor seating area, excellent for a pre-game meal at the Big House, and to bring your dogs to hang out with you. They even provide water bowls for your furry friends.
google avatar

Jillian D.

Yelp
Wow this is such a gem of a spot in Ann Arbor and the perfect spot for an outdoor summer lunch. There was tons of seating, a solid amount of beer and cider choices, and the food was incredible! We got the pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw and tots. The pulled pork was juicy, tasty, and for sure crave-worthy. I added the coleslaw to my sandwich which gave it a super nice and refreshing crunch. Finally the tots were next-level; crispy outside and pillowy inside. Inside there also tons of options of things to buy and cook on your own - the perfect gift for someone who values some quality meat! Definitely worth the stop!
google avatar

Conner B.

Yelp
Such a cool spot for a casual lunch. We love the pulled pork and variety of salads/sides. A few beers on tap, and tons of unique grocery finds - lots of meats and cheese and pickles/olives type of food. I don't think they have indoor seating, but we went in the summer and there were several outdoor tables available. Will definitely be coming back - this summer!
google avatar

Victor T.

Yelp
OK, Michiganders, you know how hard it is right now (December 2020) to find a place to get good food and drink, eat safely outside, and not freeze your ass off. I found my place today. I've always been a fan of Biercamp. Their sausages are the best in town and they brew their own beer. Now they have semi-enclosed their small porch and added a couple of propane heaters. Three picnic tables, spaced apart, room for a pod of 6 at each. We were the only ones there to start, had a root beer and a stout. They have 4 beers right now: Stout, Wheat, Blond, and an IPA. We topped it off with the chili cheese tots. Tots topped with a great chili, good tasting cheese and plenty of jalapeños. It was wonderful. It is now my new favorite place in town, I'm sure I'll be stopping in even if it is even just for a beer. See you there.
google avatar

Nancy K.

Yelp
Incredible food, wide variety of sausages and other items to try. Lots of take home goodies available. The employees always have a smile. Love that they've expanded the outdoor seating. A favorite for us for sure!
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Such a great spot maybe my favorite in Ann Arbor. Their beers are out of this world and they have plenty of other fancy meats for you to take home and grill up. Or you can order a number of sausages, brats, sandwiches etc. i recommend this spot 100% you will not be disappointed. They even brew their own beer and smoke brisket! A must try spot if you're in town and they are open.
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
Tots and slaw were fantastic. Brat was dry and overcooked. But I know this place has tons of potential. Will definitely come back and work my way thru the menu.

Scham C.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. The pulled pork sandwich and any of the brats (especially the cheddar) are exceptional. I love the unique mixtures they offer at times. The ambiance makes you feel like you are on someone's farm, laid back and everything is fresh. The inside has a variety of meats and cheeses to buy. I just wish they didn't have such odd hours, or I'd be here even more often.
google avatar

Alexandra H.

Yelp
Good place to grab a drink and a quick bite. Lots of outdoor seating since there really isn't much for indoor seating. Some tables are under cover, some folks had dogs with them. It was a low key, chill atmosphere when we went on a Saturday later afternoon. Great bratwurst and superbly cooked tots. Looking forward to our next visit!
google avatar

Lyle M.

Yelp
We went to this "restaurant" slash meat market twice within one week! The first time I ordered the chili dog with tater tots. The hot dog was delicious and the tater tots were very tasty and crispy! I loved the meal so much that I returned a second time within the week for Wednesday "Gyro" day and it was a huge sandwich with very tasty Gyro meat and I couldn't even finish it! We are just visiting the area, but when we return, I will definitely try the brisket sandwich and other tasty items on their menu! I highly recommend this place, with plenty of parking on the side and in back, along with a lot of outside tables, and a few beers on tap!
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
Everything is amazing and the staff is great. Do you love pickled things!? This place is a must visit if the answer to that is even a little positive. We just moved to the area and we look forward to Biercamp in our regular rotation!

Jess H.

Yelp
Adorable bbq spot with outdoor seating. The brisket here is AMAZING and the pulled pork tots are super fun and unique. Lots of families were eating here outside. Best BBQ I've had in Ann Arbor. @munchmontage on Instagram for more Ann Arbor content
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
Amazing little meat shop with tasty brats, burgers, and craft sandwiches prepared hot each day! You can swing by for a tasty cheddar ale brat and craft beer and pick up burgers for dinner or whatever your speciality meat needs might be! They have tons of creative options, highly recommend this under the radar spot! Highly recommend the cheddars & ale brats; the dirty Swiss bastard is great too it's the same brat but with cheddar. The loaded tots are ok, kinda just a lot of chili etc so they get mushy really fast. So i don't really order those loaded anymore, would rather just snag a bag of my fav chips (they carry Great Lakes brand)
google avatar

Gary B.

Yelp
We had never been there before. My wife mentioned going there but it was about closing time. 6:20 pm. I said we can make it easily before 7 pm. It is an unusual place. We looked at the menu and ordered a couple different items. While we were waiting, we looked at their other items on the shelves and we purchased several items. An unusual selection of items but interesting. We enjoyed the items we ordered to eat. Very tasty. Enjoyed them greatly. Today we ate an item we purchased from their shelves. Also very tasty. We will be going back there. Not sure why we never stopped the before. We drive by it many times a week. I guess because it does look a little dumpy, but the food is good. We will be returning soon.

Yelp
Heaven is a place on earth and it's Biercamp. This place is so low key And High Quality and i dare you not to fall in love. Vienna IPA w/ a Philly Brat & Dirty Swiss Bastard

Yelp
Awesome bbq! Very friendly servers. Fun casual atmosphere. Great prepared foods section. A must stop.

Yelp
They've added an adorable patio out front. Food is exceptional. My favorite is the backwoods tots.

Yelp
Driving our son to check out University of Michigan and found this spot on Yelp x Cute right on the way to the school - Clean, friendly, expansive menu of house made sausages, dogs, smoked meats and pickled veggies x plus beer so yeah we were happy x We tried the Chicago dog, the chili dog and the tots smothered in pulled pork - all was yum but the highlight was the tots - perfectly crispy to hold up to the sweet melt in your mouth pulled pork topped with homemade slaw and bread & butter pickles - hoping he chooses U of M so we can go back x oh and DIPA on tap x

Alanna G.

Yelp
We love this place. The seating is great outside, and the food is delicious. This has been recommended on the Ann Arbor Reddit page and everyone's saying the same thing- we are glad you own the space next door as there's many places to sit now
google avatar

Dan G.

Yelp
The food here is legendary. My fav is the Backwoods tots - it's a trip straight to Flavor Town. Eat inside or out, it's cozy and chill. Staff is friendly and on point.
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
Just love this place. Food is amazing. Staff is wonderful. Love my brat and beer everytime!

Rose R.

Yelp
Terrible don't even consider it. Waited for over an hour for hotdogs that were cold, shriveled and the place is filthy
google avatar

Jenn G.

Yelp
Our group all enjoyed the food. We had a bit of everything from classic brat, all beef hotdog, chili, backwoods sandwich, brisket, etc. The backwoods tots were probably my highlight. Slaw + pickles + pulled pork + tots... probably wouldn't typically order that combo, but it was great! Now... the 3 stars comes from a dark beer fan, who arrived at Biercamp to find 3 IPAs & dry cider as my options. The cider was adequate, but on a cold, snowy day, I'd prefer a dark, robust porter or stout. Super friendly staff!
