The 12 Best Bars In Mexico City - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"You probably didn’t have “German beer garden” on your Mexico City bingo card, but this unexpected spot is one you don’t want to miss. Sure, the food menu definitely includes bratwurst, but there are also Mexican beers on tap, and, fairly often, DJs spinning reggaeton and Mexican cumbia. Grab a table outside (there’s a retractable roof for when it rains), order a few pints and some barbeque chicken wings, and catch whatever game’s playing on the big TVs." - Guillaume Guevara

"Biergarten, located on the roof of Mercado Roma, is a hip urban artisanal food market in the equally popular Roma neighborhood. This is a casual, open-air spot where you can try locally-crafted beers from the barrel or in a bottle. There's always a beer of the month—and while the hoppy stuff is the house specialty, there are plenty of other options, too. There are classic and contemporary cocktails, as well as smashes (try the Mezcal Smash, with Semillero Mezcal, cinnamon simple syrup, and pineapple)."

Stopped in here for a drink and a snack. The vibe is pretty great and the drinks and food were good. We had a Bramble Smash and a Margarita both which were tasty. We also got the tater tots and enjoyed. They were crispy and had cheese sauce on them.

Google
Fun place, not quite like Munich but the closet I could find. Several local beers on tap, but nothing German. HB and Erdinger available in bottles. Good atmosphere and mood. The bratwursts are terrific.

Google
Good beer on tap and also a very solid selection of bottled beers. Expect pretty high prices though. On the other hand, the beer and the place is great, so overall satisfaction 👍.

What a nice place, the food is good and well ... The drinks are are the best, the only thing to improve is the service, it's a little slow

Google
There's a good place for drink a craft beer or cocktails, it's on a nice place and the decorations are great, for be with friends or alone it's a good choice in Mercado Roma, they have a good selection of beer and also they got snacks. You can pay with card, the only thing I don't like was the attention of the staff, they didn't care about you so much, If you want something you have to stand up and order whatever you want.

Google
The rooftop beer garden ('Grüner Hof Biergarten')) is great for a lazy weekend. The specialty cocktails are fun. The one called 'I like it bloody' is a delicious bloody mary style drink. The tacos were not great (chewy meat). There's also foosball and a DJ.

Google
The garden is on the first floor of Mercado Roma. Went to watch a football world cup game. It was packed so we had a drink at the bar. There are big tv screens everywhere so it's literally impossible to miss the action. Beer selection is ok - was hoping for a wider selection of options on tap. The atmosphere is amazing. There is a fusbol table too.

Yelp

Yelp
A beautiful place to enjoy a drink, with a high ceiling and garden-like interior that has diverse seating arrangements to allow for eating meals, enjoying drinks with friends, or having an intimate date among the lush foliage and twinkling lights. Drink specials were pretty good (eg. buy one get one free on certain cocktails) but if you don't get something with the promotional price, it is pretty expensive. We came here for the ambience so just got one drink and took a few pictures for Instagram before we walked back to our hotel. They also had Asian food on the menu (including Korean fried chicken) so we would have probably come back to try some food if we'd had the time. No roof covering to add to the open air setting, but I did see that they had several umbrellas ready to lend out if a summer rainstorm popped up.

Yelp
This is another german restaurant in Mexico city. The food was good. Nice german sausages. Good choices of mexican beer. No beer from germany was in the menu. But in the bar you could order some imported lagers brewed in the U.S. with german methods. Price is not too bad but still on the high side. I probably will come back to this restaurant in the future

Yelp
So my friend and I came here the first night we arrived because it was one of the few places open in mercado roma. the atmosphere was nice and i liked the decor but if you're from ny/nj area, it's like any other biergarden. you can sit yourself and the staff will come to you, but when it comes throughout the night, they don't come immediately (they talk among themselves which prevents them from seeing us). the food itself is pretty cheap, we ordered a drink each (i got the honey bee one which wasn't bad, definitely honey flavored) and got the tacos (six came with one order on a crispy hard shell)- the tacos weren't bad but i wouldn't say it's amazing. overall i've definitely experienced better but i dont think it's worth the trip coming here- there's better places to eat

Yelp
Good place to come up to when visiting the market downstairs. Just look for the elevator in the middle of the market and take it up to the third floor. When I went it was nice to escape the crowd downstairs as the Biergarten was less hectic. They have a great beer and drink selection for you to enjoy on the rooftop, just wish the service was a little better. I didn't try the food and not sure why people are ordering food from here when you have the amazing market just below. There is also a cigar bar as well.

Yelp
A Biergarten?!!!? STOP! Really, stop. Place has attitude and feels as though the staff are being inconvenienced. Way cool decor, fantastic spot, good selection of drinks and cocktails. So much potential, except the bartender was a bit annoyed when we disturbed his early lunch/late breakfast and my pretzel was still raw in the center. Drinks were a bit pricey, but you're paying for ambiance and hipsterness.

Yelp
This place it was really great, it was a little bit of Germany but now it's a big part a "tepito" (so poor and dangerous zone of Mexico City) for the environment the music with cumbias, regeton, "sonidero", really awful!, I can't believe I'm in "La Roma". The service isn't bad, they have more fast food options, the sense of Germany is lost and it's so thirsty!!!

Yelp
The beer and tequila are worth writing about. This is a very happening restaurant with plenty of loud club music. There are plenty of couples and some singles here. I recommend visiting with a friend. This is on the third floor--so I recommend taking the elevator up to reach it. However, it is so crowded that if you leave your seat for all of a couple of minutes the staff will try to seat someone else there as seating is shared around tables.

Yelp
Great beer and great setting. I usually opt for the draft beer. The dorada and the seasonal Pilsner are good. They also have decent cocktails. We tried the grapefruit tequila pitcher last time we were there. My biggest complaint with this place is the service. It's usually really slow if you need to pay with credit card. They require tickets for draft beer and food and I think it would be better if they required tickets for everything as it would free up the credit card server. Other than that, I enjoy coming here for a beer.

Yelp
Wow this place is neat. Gives you the feel of being in a backyard while you're on a roof in the middle of the city. Came here several times, a couple times to watch the Euro and the Copa America final games. Great atmosphere, big TVs, and good beer. Not the most incredible prices, but what do you expect for something that's like an Eataly of Mexico City?

Yelp
Mehhhh. I loved the space and beer, but service and payment scheme are lacking. The bier garten is a rooftop terrace area with both picnic tables and comfy patio furniture. The beer was very good (remember to ask for cerveza de barril for draft beer). They also have a full bar and make great cocktails. The pricing scheme is bizarre. You pay for beer at a kiosk where you get tickets for a beer. If you want cocktails, you pay for them at the bar. The kiosk is ten feet away from the bar. It makes no sense why you can't just pay for everything at the bar and skip the stupid tickets. Service was rather snooty and pretentious. The one bartender asked how much I wanted to leave for a tip rather than if I wanted to tip. So, if you find yourself at mercado roma go to the bier garten but do not make a special trip.

Yelp
If you're looking for a place to pre game or just hang this place is perfect. It's a rooftop bar. They serve craft beers and the ambiance is super cool and modern. The service is a bit lackluster, but the beer selection is decent. Pricing is a lil steep too. But overall my group had a blast. Our USC Alumni Chapter in Mex City had a small get together with a few active students from USC. It was a blast. And there were plenty of trendy hip people to make this a beautiful place to hang. I loved it. I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Great place if you want some Korean style fried chicken with some soju or makgulli. They also serve basic cocktails. The pizza is aok but the korean style french fries and the chicken is where it's at. The karaoke area always seems to be filled, and they don't have the newest songs. However, if you're thinking of singing keep in mind that it's on the pricier side. Also I suggest you go with a big group of friends because the rooms are quite big. The place is very aesthetics esp. at night so I recommend you go later in the day. There are a good mix of Koreans and Mexicans.

Yelp
The beer was not our favorite but it forced us out of our comfort zone as Americans. Some of the cocktails came in really cute tiki mugs shaped like Easter island heads. I tried a few cocktails- the tropical honey bee was supreme, the tiki one was too watermelon-y for my taste, and the I Like It Bloody was dope. The atmosphere was nice. It took a bit for the cocktails to be made, but that's because they were so complex. Be careful about which you order, because some are very expensive! People also smoke all over so sit as far inside as possible if you don't like that. Very hip and happening place

Eric G.

Yelp
Biergarten? haha no, they don't even know what a beer is. The place is kinda nice, however, drinks are both overpriced and bad, lots of ice and cheap liquor, but the worst of the worst is the service, the personnel is rude and no manners are shown anywhere; they ask for more tip and keep complaining about the 10% you usually give (they ask for 15% or more, GIVE ME A BREAK). By the way, my cellphone was stolen in this place, i was distracted and it was my fault, but the personnel was the only one around, the rest of the tables were almost empty. NEVER going back again.

Yelp
Location is beautiful and the beer selection solid for Mexico. However, the food is not that good and the prices of the beer are more expensive than at some other places in the area. Overall, the place has got some promise.

Yelp
Gotta be honest here. Definitely not a "beer garden" but more so a rooftop day drinking spot which is fantastic in and of itself. I am currently in CDMX and have visited over 2 dozen bars...been back to this one 4 times in 10 days. That should say something. I don't understand the negative reviews here from anyone especially the woman saying this place is now in a "bad" part of town. Completely uneducated statement as Roma Norte is one of the safest zones in CDMX!!! Great cocktails, bartenders are a little laid back but they are respectful and nice. The snacks/food are limited but still pretty decent if you just need to fill up. Again, another reviewer mentioned paying was sketchy...if you consider getting your tab, paying the tab, receiving change and being told "gracias!" sketchy, you clearly don't know what you're talking about! All in all, definitely check this spot out, they have a decent selection of booze and they know how to make a drink. Ignore the other reviews PLEASE and give this place a try!

Yelp
I visited in July while taking my boyfriend to see my old neighborhood. I am originally from there. Drinks were OK, nothing special. The issue was that the cashier lady tried to rip off my boyfriend. He speaks basic Spanish and wanted to practice, so he approached the cashier to pay for a couple of beer tickets and the lady charged him the equivalent of 5 tickets (each ticket was $75 pesos)! He returned with just a little cash from the $500 bill so I knew he'd been ripped off. I confronted the cashier and she did not even flinch! she returned the exact amount of money that she was supposed to have returned to my boyfriend when he paid for the tickets. If you are a foreigner stay away from this place or go with a local so that you don't get ripped off.

Christina R.

Yelp
So, I've seen this place Instagrammed enough that I knew I just had to try it. Biergarten is located on the rooftop of the trend Mercado Roma. When you arrive, you have to purchase tickets from the cashier to redeem for food and drinks at the bar. Don't forget to buy your tickets! Pretty decent local beer selection, and I opted for some kind of lager. I can't remember the name. I didn't order food, but it looked delish! I was disappointed at how early it closed. For being trendy, and in DF I think we were ushered out close to 10 or 11 PM? It was a week night, but still. The view was awesome, and so was the atmosphere. If you get four beers, prices are similar to the USA, and I considered them pricey for DF. I paid about $20 USD.
